I first moved to the area in June of this year, as I travel the US for work. While looking for a regular place to enjoy my time off of work, I was lucky to stumble upon La Parrilla. From the stellar view by the water to the excellent food selection, it’s with ease that I say this place is one of my favorites across the entire country. There’s a comforting feeling when stopping by for a late dinner or drink. To top it off, the staff are genuine and friendly. After a few visits, it was as if I had been going there for the last 27 years. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Stop on in and you’ll see what I mean!

I went for the fish but they only had it on Fridays. I’m not having any regrets with choosing the steak, it was just AMAZING, perfect flavor and cooked just as I asked!

Great atmosphere. Wine, food, and music all paired well. Penne and vodka sauce was a perfect portion and very tasty. The delmonico with chimichurri and fries couldn't have been cooked better. Our server Mere made us feel very welcome and comfortable. We will come again!

This is a Jewel in Oswego, sat right by the water. Service was great. Dog friendly was cool, they even brought water for my pup. The dishes were unique and delicious. I will be back.

Worth every penny I had their chicharones and their clam chowder, my wife had their braised pork shoulder everything is made to order, the clam chowder is amazing it's not thick but the flavor left me drooling with clams still in their shell super fresh.

Food was phenomenal, great service and atmosphere. Gluten free and vegetarian options available. They do not have liquor but have many wine and beer options. Food tasted fresh and homemade.

We visited LaParilla while stay at the Best Western Plus at Oswego NY. Loved the large Patio with the shaded overhead which provided shade on a warm Summer evening. The atmosphere was beautiful sitting out right near the river. And bug free. Our server was excellent seeing as we visited on a busy evening. She was efficient professional friendly and fun. The one person entertainment( guitar player who had an excellent voice and offered a variety of songs) also thankyou for singing Happy Birthday to me!! Appetizer: canalope with pershuta with a tangy ( spicy with enough heat). I highly reccomend. Cocktail: home made (choices white or red wine) I choose the white. Crisp cold with the right enough of fruit. Also I ordered a Watermelon cocktail. Since it was my birthday the bonus was a huge cocktail which came in a very cool souvenir plastic bucket.Thank you LA Parilla! Entree of choice( highly reccomed) was the signature chicken Riggies. Which you have a preference on how spicy the dish will be made for you. I chose a level 3. This is the best chicken Reggie I ever had! Lots of chicken with the right amount of pepper and mushroom along with cheese. Taste compared to a chicken wing! Lots of leftovers to bring home and enjoy! Entree came with a large fresh salad. Entree did not include bread. Which I requested. Nice assortment of artisian bread nice and warm. We were not charged for the bread. Good prices for the meal along with a phenomenal atmosphere and server. I only wish I lived much closer so I could enjoy the dining experience LA Parilla offers!

Today is November 18 me and my two best friends came from out of town to celebrate one of my best friends, birthdays, and we’ve never been here before the atmosphere was absolutely relaxing. Everybody was so nice the young lady who are waitresses her name was Megan as polite as she wanted to be kept coming back, asking if we needed anything she was absolutely amazing. We sat at the bar for happy hour Jake, the bartender recommended we had the pork chops to die for absolutely to die, for we were able to meet the cook Before we left and we told him how wonderful his food was we will definitely be back and I wish there were more stars on here because I’d like to give you more stars

Really delicious food. We loved the home fried potatoes, blackened salmon and chicken paella 🥘. Was not a fan of today's soup with tomatoes. Can dine in. Highly highly recommend as good was sooo tasty

Our server was very good: attentive and kept us posted on our meal's progress to our table. The chicken and loaded baked potato soup was delicious, very hearty and hot on this cool night. Steak Frites was delicious as usual. Latin Fries, their last night on the menu for the season, were amazing! I had not had them before. They were a perfect blend of steak fries with pulled pork in gravy-type sauce with diced tomatoes & peppers, and grated cheese.

NEW NEW NEW LOCATION! Absolutely thrilled they have moved to this venue. It's beautiful and the food from LA Parilla has always been amazing but in such a small place. The drinks were great. Highly recommend the Brussel sprouts!!

Beautiful waterfront dining. Super friendly wait staff. I had the chicken "pub riggies (pasta) a local central NY traditional menu item and it didn't disappoint. A huge portion and plenty to take home after. I asked for the sauce at a 3 on the 1-5 hot scale. I like it spicy and 3 had a moderate level of that hot pepper bite, but not too much. But I like it 🔥. Comes with soup or salad. I chose salad and it came with a house made vinaigrette, it was zippy with a perfect vinegar flavor. They had specials that sounded great, but I stuck to my plan and had the riggies. Very very good. Great looking place inside and the waterfront area is awesome. Casual works but you could dress up if you are so inclined. Watching Tiki boats slide by is nice. You can use the outside entrance or if you're a guest at the Best Western it's just an elevator ride away.

Had a really nice time at La Parilla. The food I had was very enjoyable, a chickpea appetizer which was something I rarely see was very good. The fried softshell crab was quite appetizing as well. What really impressed me was how nice the place was and how fantastic the staff and atmosphere was. It was such a great energy on what was a gorgeous day. The set up on the water with how well designed the restaurant is, fantastic. Looking forward to going back and bringing more friends along. Enjoy!

We had a party of 8. The service was excellent and the food was even better. Wine, while limited, offered good value. The table was served promptly. No doubt that this is the best place in Oswego to go for a quality dinner.

Awesome staff. The food was solid, prices reasonable, and a cool vibe to the place. But the staff definitely took it over the top. Friendly without being overbearing, but very quick and organized. Well done!

Same spot at Alex's used to be before they went yuk. Great presentation and service, prices reasonable and food was excellent. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food on the menu. Definitely going back

Our dinners were delicious, with wonderful flavor and presentation. The pita tasting with homemade tapenade and hummus, is worthy of a return trip. I also had the fettuccini Alfredo and chocolate Carmel tort for desert. All for the special prices of $21.00, my husband had the clam casino, fish and chips and key lime tort. Along with a bottle of wine we had lovely evening. Definitely will return

Busy Friday night with amazing weather on the water. Service was fast, friendly and the food was great. When most places are cutting back on their portion size they do not and the price was right!

Just moved from Dallas, TX and I travel on both coasts for work so I've had the opportunity to eat at many amazing restaurants from hole in the wall dives to 5 Star restaurants and La Parilla ranks right up there. The food is fresh, tastes great and the staff is super friendly! Moving from a city that is every foodies dream, La Parilla makes me feel right at home!

I almost never eat steak out because they are usually terrible. This restaurant cooked the best steak I've ever had in my life. I wouldn't mind seeing a few more choices on the wine menu (add some Malbec please) but would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I’ve hesitated writing a review because I want this place to be a little secret, but it’s too good not to share. This is my favorite restaurant in the area. Food is amazing and fairly priced for the quality and portions. Most recently, the chef was highly accommodating when I made a last-minute request for a couple trays of pasta. Thankful for a place like this, even if it means having to travel out of my way.

J
Jim Santoro

My only criticism is the wording and appearance of the menu doesn't do the food justice. We had a wonderful evening. Prompt and super friendly service. Fantastic food. Reasonable prices. Great music. Hope to get back soon!

This place isn't cheap, but worth every penny for the delicious, fresh dinners. We went here with friends and I had the bolognese and it was delicious! Not spicy like it usually is, but fantastic! My husband had the blackened salmon and he said it was the best he ever had! He even mentioned it the next day saying we needed to go back.. Since it used to be a fire house, the back is decorated with some older firehouse decor. Very cute and would definitely recommend.

I've been coming here often lately and it's always been a good time. My server, Autumn was attentive and paid great deal of of attention to all the details. I will recommend the chicharons any day of the week. And it's a great place for fresh salads and pastas and specials. Give it a try!

On a blazing hot summer day in ‘19 a friend and I stopped in for dinner on a recommendation after attending an art opening. Normally not a meat eater, I can be tempted with a good cut, and was not disappointed. I’d planned to take half home for later, but couldn’t stop myself from devouring the entire meal, every. single. molecule. Then, after cleaning my plate I polished off a decadent dessert. Yes, I recommend this restaurant...and well over a year later my mouth waters just remembering that meal.

Food is finally good at this location, was awful before the buyout. Chimichuri steak was perfectly cooked, very tasty. Place is beautiful with a great location. During our visit the AC was out and the indoor seating was sweltering and outside wasn't much better, it was a very hot day. Felt bad for the staff.

A

Perfect in every way. Food was amazing! Best fried calamari I've ever had. We also enjoyed, pulled pork egg rolls, risotto with portobello mushrooms, shells & bolognese, tortellini with chicken, chicken piccata, coconut cream pie and blueberry/strawberry pie. The seven of us all agreed it was awesome. Great wait staff too.

A

Super tasty food - extremely accommodating staff, what else exactly could you ask for? With mainly corporate chains in town, do NOT miss out on this gem of an independent restaurant. We came in and told the staff that our child was allergic to soy, and they proactively said that their fryer oil was soy based so we were going to pass up on the fries. The owner heard this, immediately jumped in and said “we can totally make those in the oven” - nothing makes parents of a highly allergic kid happier than an establishment which is super understanding and proactive.

We enjoyed our stewed seafood dinner last night at La Parrilla. They have happy hour from 4-6pm and we enjoyed discounted beers…the lady who served us should get 6 stars! Thank you!

L
Laura Licatese

Chef and owner, Ray takes pride in his culinary creations. I've never had a bad meal at La Parilla. The tequila mussels are the best! They're served with crusty bread but the sauce is so delicious you'll want to use a spoon! His new England clam chowder is also phenomenal! And the Latin stir fry is as beautiful as it is tasty! Get it with shrimp! My mouth is watering just thinking about it! All of this and the best wines and beer to pair with your meal. When I asked Ray if he had any of his cauliflower soup that I remember having there he said, "Not today but if you let me know when you're coming back, I'll get the stuff and make it for you". Love this place!

My best friend and my other best friend are celebrating our best friend’s birthday. We are staying at the hotel so we decided to go have happy hour at your restaurant and Jake the bartender was top-notch. Absolutely the best I have ever experienced. Very helpful in regards to the menu and just very pleasant and the atmosphere is so relaxing. It’s breathtaking, we seated for our reservations at 6:30 to celebrate our best friends birthday and Megan was our waitress. She is the sweetest, most thoughtful waitress I have ever had an encountered. I am a very hard person to impress and when I tell you, I am so impressed not alone with everyone in the restaurant , the food, the service the atmosphere I give you 18,000 stars so I truly appreciate everything that the restaurant provided for my best friends birthday Jake and Megan we will be back to see you both

I’m missing your soups, chicharonnes, paella and most of all your fettuccine alfredo with grilled chicken. Wish La Parilla would come back to the old firehouse building. You and your amazing food are missed by many!!!

After a disastrous effort to have dinner at another local bistro that was recommended to us, we stumbled on to La Parilla. Couldn’t have been happier. Our server was new so there were a few things that weren’t great, but her politeness, and personality more than made up for it. The food was outstanding. Kudos to the chef. The clam chowder was the best we ever had and the serving size of all our dishes was well worth the money. Everything was delicious. The restaurant itself is simple but food was great. Can’t eat ambiance.

We went to this restaraunt after a funeral service for the family. We had a large group and we had them do like a catered meal. All of the food was delicious and I will be returning to experience a meal where it is not a large group. Our bartender and the rest of the staff who waited our group were terrific. Thank you La Parrilla.

We had a friends birthday dinner here, our server was great,, food came in a timely fashion, I got fish and chips and it was freaking FABULOUS !!!! good size portion, just delish, best fish I've had in a long time, fries were great too !!! .. tomatoe vodka soup was a bit weird,, friends had salmon, they said it was good but I think portion was ridiculously small. Red Italian type salad dressing was odd flavor.. over all, much better than I expected after reading other reviews..

P

Great service; the best! The good was pretty good but small and a little disappointing on the chicken riggies..there was no chicken. and the drinks seemed a lot watered down.

I went on lunch with a group. The food was amazing. So good. I hear it an always changing menu but if you happen to love clam chowder and they have it go for it. It’s worth it. However I couldn’t get my bud lights fast enough. Maybe cause of the group # of people. Meh wasn’t bad tho. Maybe they just went down really easy. Idk. Bottom line. Get the food. You will love it. CHICHARRONES. mmm

Went there for an after graduation dinner. Service was excellent, and they were able to accommodate a large party(11). The server was friendly and personable, and even though we were still there past closing we didn't feel any pressure to leave before we were ready.

Would definitely go back. Great service with a nice variety of meals, appetizers and wine! Our group unanimously loved the Tortellini Bolognese, which was a special that night. Only knocks, which are very minor, would be that the dining space and beer selection are a little limited.

Right on the water with outdoor seating. Don't let the fact it's attached to the Best Western fool you. The entrees were very good! (Fun fact: the chef used to be the person chef for Jerry Seinfeld. ) He did not disappoint!

Donna Turner
Donna Turner

Great space on the water. Plenty of options for everyone. The mussel chowder was so full of mussels that it took 2 dishes to remove the shells. The broth was flavorful but the potatoes were definitely left to big and awkward to eat. The bolognese risotto was thick and creamy.

E
Erica Whittier

Our waitress was amazing, I can’t recall her name but she also works at the coffee house. She was friendly and gave wonderful service. The food was great, all 7plates were empty and enjoyed. The fish was wonderful! I would visit again!

J
Jon Bowen

Long wait for food, even though it wasn"t crowded. Dined in their outdoor space with the doors closed. Acoustics were poor and we had to converse in loud voices to be heard. It must be awful with more people in this room. Friendly server and good food. If I were to return, I would only dine in that room with the doors open or inside where the acoustics are better.

P
Phil Z

Food was good, limited menu at least was for lunch. The special for that day was a burger.

J
Jimmy G

I'm not a fan of the menu items, but the food is good. The real gem is being able to sit outside on a nice sunny day and have cocktails next to the water. The location is great.

R
Robin

We went to dinner with friends on a very warm, muggy night. We wanted to get out of the heat so we sat inside for air conditioning. The staff had the door to the patio dining wedged open. It got very warm inside, we were all very uncomfortable! The food was excellent except for the shark steak my husband had was very dry! But the rest was awesome. We stepped outside after the rainstorm and it was cooler outside than inside! Food - great! Atmosphere - steamy

S
Sammi

I came here for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon with a group of 3. We showed up at 2pm and I was surprised to still see a decent number of people there. The inside was nice but the best was definitely the deck outside with the view and breeze. The food was good, I thought a bit overpriced for what you got. But the quality was good and a decent number of choices. Our waitress was friendly and checked on us a lot. Overall I'd say stop in and give it a try.

S
Steven Sprowson

The location is the best part. Unfortunately, quality of food and attention to detail continues to slip since the move from the previous location and significantly over the past few months. Portion size and flavor are not the same and the chicharrones a longtime staple were really disappointing. I attempted to raise concern after my last visit but this visit was no better. Our burgers even came out missing the cheese and all toppings. Hoping for an improvement because we have always loved La Parrilla. Fingers crossed- La Parrilla I know you can do better!

Went on a Tuesday afternoon and service was very slow since only one server was working in and outdoors. Pita appetizer was very bland. Main dishes were yummy.

Place wasn’t exactly what I thought, I was hoping for a more relaxed dining environment. When we got there it was pretty empty but outside they had some party going which was loud and we were sat by the door with the constant in and out. Food was a bit under seasoned, appetizers were ok but I do recommend the Clams if you need one, the steak needed more seasoning but the temperature was cooked perfectly. Got an Old fashioned not made well. Staff was nice and the best part of the experience.

Meh. This meal was $27. I was excited to have a twist on a carbonara, but this was just some pasta with mild sausage and a few pieces of Asparagus. Not even close…Carbonara is not made with tomato sauce.

c
carolyn scott

Cannelloni pasta is way too thick with too little filling. Usually, fresh made pasta is “light” like a crepe. Theirs is dense and thick. I should have taken a photo. Water in a bottle would be nice for refills

C
Cadgineering

Location, view and service were great. Food was okay but definitely a little below average. Hostess could have been a bit more friendly, maybe a smile or a greeting seeing as that is typically part of that job.

M
Martin Koen

They have got some work to do at the new location. It does not seem like they were ready to scale up. Our waitress was clearly overwhelmed (and rightfully so) the place was freaking bumping and there weren't many people working. The food was good, but my pasta was undercooked ( which indicates overwhelmed kitchen staff). The busboy was very competent and friendly! I will say that the bar tender that was working the inside bar was kind of rude ( but likely overwhelmed). This seems like a problem that the management needs to fix as all the pieces are in place for this place to become a massive success. I will certainly go back many more times (if you haven't been, you should go) in the hope that they will scale successfully.

L
Lorraine Pafumi

We had reservations to sit outside. They put us in the sun @ 90 degrees. There were many tables under pavilion and with umbrella covers but they wouldn't move us. So we had to go inside to eat. No air conditioner. They may be short staffed, but we had to continually get the hostess to find our waitress to remind her of things we had asked for. They also need to add a choice or two for dressing. Not everyone likes vinegar.

T
Tom Hedge

Salmon was WAY too salty and there was too much dressing on the house salad. It literally ruined both dishes. I took the outer skin off the salmon and it was still too salty. Too bad as it's a great location and vibe, and the servers were friendly and attentive. It was very busy tonight, so maybe the kitchen is slammed, but more attention needed to be paid to our menu items.

S
Sheila Dion

We had family visiting and went here expecting a great meal and atmosphere. The service was very slow, they were out of good bourbon because the had a wedding the night before. They were out of some food too. It was a Friday night so I got fish and chips and my fish was burnt. It was very disappointing.

m
marijane finlay

First, the location is lovely. The food was ok, not anything to write home about. The real issue was the attitude of the waitress and her helper. Both were rude to different members of the party. The entrees are supposed to come with either soup or salad. When I ordered, I said "caesar salad" when asked about salad. She didn't inform us that the entrees only came with house salad, and that was not specified on the menu. So she charged extra for the salad. When I started to ask her why she didn't mention this when we ordered, she blew me off and walked away. Pretty deceptive practice in my opinion. Several other similar things happened with her. Some snide remarks. I tipped, but not nearly as much as I ordinarily would. Not sure I'd go back, but I'm sure there must be some better staff there.

D
Dan Sindhikara

Nice location and access from Best western hotel. Right on the water to the views were great. They had live music and the volume was extremely loud (my watch warned me about decibel levels despite being all the way on the opposite side of the restaurant from the band). Even after the band closed, they played music which was pretty loud. Service was very slow, over an hour to get our food. Our waitress was very nice but forgot our drinks multiple times.

J
Joshua Kirk

First off, the patio here is excellent, feels like you’re dining somewhere near the ocean. If you sit inside you definitely get the hotel restaurant vibe. The food and drinks were very disappointing. We ordered their sangria which I thought they were “known” for, one of the worst we’ve had. The popular crab sand-which was extremely under amusing. Taste was very bland and had minimal meat on it. The clams were okay. I’d come back for drinks on the patio but I wouldn’t waste my money on the food.

B
Brenda Flagg

I understand there is an outdoor seating area however we were inside and the flies hanging around our food throughout the meal, not really wanted I wanted unless I was outside which would be expected. Food was great, service was really slow…. 1 hr and 20 minutes to get the food not what I would expected from a 1st class restaurant. Might have been an off night not sure if I would come back. The salmon meal was delicious!

Andrea Spinola
Andrea Spinola

Restaurant looked nice but it was so so so full of gnats. Gnats everywhere and hundreds of dead ones on the window as seen in the photo, asked for the steak on my salad medium rare but it came out well done. Which I don’t really care for but the bugs really disgusting

M
Maya Papaya

It’s a shame this place is so bad, they’ve got a great location. Careless and inattentive staff. Poor food and drink selection. Steak was very dry and flavorless. Burger was overcooked and flavorless. Fries were like McDonald’s. I’m surprised at the other positive ratings, there are better places to go.

D
Diego Rodríguez

Really disappointed with this place, just to be clear, the service was excellent and the prices were ok, also the views of the river are really nice but that is has far as it gets. We was looking for a seafood restaurant and Google recommend this place. After looking some pictures and read some reviews we decided to try, but when we arrived we realized that most of the plates on the pictures do not exist on the really small menu of the restaurant. In fact they don't have seafood except for a salmon. We ask the server, and she said that maybe was on a special occasion. So after a big disappointment I decided to try the steak, unfortunately it wasn't good at all. Is a shame, because they have all the characteristics to be a great restaurant, unfortunately they are missing the more important things, the food.

N
Nikolay Belov

I do not recommend this place. Food was just bad. I honestly don’t know how can anyone mess up the Caesar salad, but they did. Mushroom risotto was missing mushrooms and looked like yesterday’s oatmeal. French onion soup was the only thing I would recommend in this place. Gnocchi were average. Service was good.

R
Ryan

Staff were nice, kind, and patient when it came to answering my questions and concerns regarding my food. Food service itself is questionable. It took 45 minutes for a risotto and fish and chips to arrive. The restaurant had one other table or two and two people at the bar at most. Both dishes were underwhelming at best. The risotto is way too salty for some reason(could be the cheese) and the fish is mediocre at best. I ordered caesar salad as part of my side and it arrived with a sort of pink dressing that tasted like a vinaigrette instead. When i asked, the response is that it’s house made which doesn’t explain how a normally white colored salad dressing ended up pink and exactly like a vinaigrette.

The food and atmosphere were outstanding!! The service was horrendous. Two tables behind us weren't cleared of dirty dishes for almost our entire dinner; it wasn't even busy. Our appetizer came and we couldn't eat it for a couple minutes because our waitress forgot our flatware. I needed a to-go box, but our waitress was nowhere to be found for the 15 or so minutes we waited.

Waitress was very polite and professional although very busy. The food was an over priced disappointment. Maybe it was just an odd night but appetizer of chicarronies tasted of burnt honey and were soggy, jalepeno blue cheese was good. Soup and salad was okay, not great, wouldn't bother again if it didn't come with main course by default. Main course of fish fry was very bland although decently cooked, fries were the highlight of all the food although they were surprisingly missing salt. Chicken riggies were disappointing, some of the pasta was overcooked and mushy while other pieces were uncooked and almost crunchy. Amount of chicken was almost non-existent to the point of seeming like there was almost no chicken in it, just the smallest pieces mixed into the sauce. Considering the cost for both meals and appetizer would not recommend. Miss the restaurant that occupied the beautiful location prior to this one.

"The allegiance sign?" Food and service: The service was great. Very attentive and friendly staff, a well deserved tip. We got the special, spaghetti with tomatoes and mozzarella. Appetizer was the street corn, which was great. Main dish was good, but $16 for a pasta dish was a bit expensive. Atmosphere: On the wall is a very large hand written statement. It is a fairly political message, starting off with "I pledge allegiance to no more flags". Personally I don't care what folks believe politically, but why alienate a customer base who takes pride in what the flag represents? There are some things in the whole message on the wall I agree with, and some I don't, but that is really not the point, is it? I'm there to have a good meal. Not feel like I'm in a "safe space" for leftist, progressives.

I don't write this to wish ill on La Parilla. When it was a small cafe in town, we thought it one of the best new restaurants in town. One night they offered a special cioppino--shellfish and fish in a rich tomato broth. It was delicious, and I remember thinking that this was precisely the sort of thing Oswego needed. But then they moved to this enormous spot on the water, and while the location is very nice, it really feels that they went too big, too fast. The cavernous interior makes it difficult for the waitstaff to keep up with the orders. But my main critique is the menu. Where once it offered dishes that were unique to the area, they now fill the bill with selections you can get anywhere in town. Chicken riggies? Cannelloni? You can get that at Canale's and Vona's. Fried fish? Go to Rudy's. Why gravitate to the too-familiar when you had our attention with what was unique? I really hope this place steadies the ship. I would love to see it succeed. But I suggest they go back to what they used to do so well.

We were looking for a place on the water. We settled on this place, as it is really the only place on the water open on Sunday. Here’s the thing…. Their logo looks like a gas station sign. They desperately need branding help. They are in the clarion hotel building, but I’m not sure the clarion owns them. 🤷‍♀️ We ordered calamari. The calamari wasn’t rubbery, so that gave it a little more than one star. But have you ever had calamari served with marinara that literally tastes like water?! NO. FLAVOR. even shaved parm, S&P in the batter,…give me something. The beer was good. Not hard. The mixed drink wasn’t that great. The service - too busy on her phone to serve the seven people at the bar. We overheard two people next to us critiquing their meal. They said the fish was awfully salty. Maybe they can half the salt on the sea bass and put some in the batter of the calamari. I hate to be critical, but I gotta look at myself tomorrow. 😂

Food was not great. Disappointed no spice with the Reggie’s and no sausage and we ordered the extreme. Also ordered the tortillas Alfredo was very saucy and bland. As well my granddaughter pick chicken strips and French fries no chicken strips available and no milk or juice for little ones. Confused. But atmosphere was a plus.

Meh. Bland. Ordered linguine Alla vongole for takeout and got box spaghetti. Also, tomato vongole soup had no noodles as the restaurant claimed. Just tomato broth.

We were here for White Out hockey, and this place was recommended. We visited Friday night and as far as food, it was very good. As for service-- horrible is the only word that comes to mind. The waitress was not friendly or helpful. The atmosphere is elegant and the food is a definitive 5 stars. It's too bad the service is lacking.

This restaurant started out as a nice place because it is right on the water. The menu was very limited and the portions were small. We like to try new foods so we ordered the fried chickpeas as an appetizer and they were tasteless. I ordered the blackened salmon as my meal, and it came out with a little piece on top of about 2 tablespoons of cold rice. My husband ordered the riggies and it was a child size portion. No extras, like bread, etc. It was also noisy with the loud intercom music, so I would suggest not going if you are with a group that wants to converse. On the plus side, two of our guests had the fish and chips which were amazing.

Service was not pleasant. I got a meatball sandwich, the roll was black from over toasting, I don't eat burned bread, so I asked for a new, less toasted roll. When it was brought out, the server asked who needed a second roll with so much attitude that my wife's eyebrows hit the top of her head. The meatball was tasteless, dry and so large it couldn't be eaten as a sandwich (defeating the purpose of a sandwich, right?). It was dry and had the smallest amount of sauce possible on it. My wife enjoyed her squash tortellini dish in the moment, but within an hour was plagued by stomach pains. She was also told she couldn't get a cup of clam chowder, only the bowl as a meal. When asked if they could just put it in a cup, the server said she would do it but had to charge us for the entire meal. This is clearly not the same restaurant we used to love that moved from across the river. I'd go back for drinks on the river, but never a meal. Way better places in Oswego.

My husband and I have been to this restaurant a few times in hopes of finding something good that we liked! Unfortunately, each time we have gone it has been very mediocre food that’s very expensive and very little portion. The only good thing we can both say is that the location of this restaurant is superb! Very gorgeous view of the water and great outdoor seating. The drinks are not too bad so we’d definitely only go again for drinks if anything!

Food choices were limited due to unavailability of options. Burger and fries were served cold. Wedge salad was void of most toppings and dressing. Core from cutting the head of lettuce was still attached. Flavor was blah. Waitress was pleasant and attentive. Outside seating was nice, good weather for us. Won’t go back due to poor food presentation, flavor and menu choices.

Menu was over priced. Calamari was not fresh for $14. The rice ball was small and over priced, should of had 2 for the price we paid. Waitress was rude and barely asked how the food was. Caesar salads were mostly lettuce with some occasional chicken. Fish stew smelled like rotten vagina and nearly made all the members at our table want to vomit within seconds of arriving! Waitress said it NORMALLY smells like that!!! I'd hope not! Can't believe they even served that. Seafood was not fresh at all. Manager was not apologetic AT ALL. To top it off we paid $40 cash and the rest on a credit card and the waitress didn't put the cash towards the bill and charged it all to the card. Thank god we caught that! Will not return nor recommend to anyone! Worst food and service I have ever recieved!

The ambiance is lovely but the food was not up to par. Ordered grandson hot dog. Came with Cold fries and they do not have mustard or relish. Sent order back. The Children’s pasta dish with red sauce was tasteless and room temperature. No grated cheese, no salt or pepper on the tables. Never offered coffee at end of meal and the wedge salad could have used a seasoned Italian dressing. When we arrived the cooks actually screamed for a waitress to come pick up an order. The place had a good crowd but I think the staff was overwhelmed. You would think owning the same restaurant but now in a different location; they would have their act together. When you see a beautiful setting for a restaurant and the food does not match the setting it is so disappointing.

We will not be back. Second time with poor to no service. We were sitting at the bar for 30 minutes waiting to order food. We watched 3 other couples served their orders while we waited. When the bartender finally got to us to take our order he somehow "remembered" they were no longer serving food at the bar. So we asked for a table. The bartender couldn't be bothered so we went to the hostess who told us that it would be 45 minutes to an hour since we didn't have reservations. Isn't that what bar service is for? We left. This is the third time we've been there and the second time we've been turned away. We will not go back. They were awesome when they were small, they absolutely are not worth the time or energy now.

We went to La Parrilla for dinner with another couple last night and were very disappointed. We had reservations but definitely didn’t need them. When we arrived, the entire inside section was empty and only half of the tables outdoors were filled. We were seated outdoors and the atmosphere was very nice. The hostess brought us all glasses of water right away and our waitress came and took our drink orders. She came back with our drinks and said that she’d take our appetizer orders, get them started, and be right back to take our meal orders. Before she left, we asked her to refill our water glasses as well. My wife ordered an iced tea and when it came out, it tasted horrible. Our appetizers came out before our waitress ever returned to take our meal orders. We got the chicharrones and latin waffle fries and both were good. When the waitress finally came back around to take our meal order, she completely forgot about refilling our waters, so we asked her again. We also told her about the iced tea tasting bad. She offered to replace it with a new one but my wife decided to just stick to the water instead. I ordered the cannelloni with the daily soup – chicken vegetable. My wife ordered the pollo asado with the side salad. She specifically asked for no onions and the waitress said that she’d request the roasted tomato pico for the pollo asado to be on the side since it had onions in it. One of our friends ordered the broccoli chicken risotto special and her husband ordered the chicken riggies with the daily soup and asked for no mushrooms. The waitress did eventually bring out a small water pitcher so that we could refill our own waters, but there was only enough water in it for one refill each. Staff brought out 3 of our meals and told our friend that his chicken riggies would just be a bit longer. My wife’s chicken was good but the couscous that it came with had onions all throughout it even though she’d requested no onions. Our friend’s risotto was very disappointing, with only 3 very small pieces of chicken and 3 small pieces of broccoli. It definitely wasn’t worth the $20 they charged for it. My cannelloni tasted good, but they were lukewarm. It was over 10 minutes after the 3 initial meals were brought out before our friend’s chicken riggies were brought out. He said that the riggies were good but the daily soup had mushrooms in it, which the waitress didn’t mention when he ordered his meal with no mushrooms. When our waitress finally came back to check on us, we told her about the onions in the couscous. She apologized and said that she’d see if she could get some without onions. She came back quite a while later and said that the couscous is premade and there’s no way to get any without onions. She said the kitchen could do some grilled zucchini as a replacement and my wife accepted. It took another 10-15 minutes for the zucchini to come out. They were very thick slabs that were barely seasoned and were tough to cut because they hadn’t been cooked long enough. At that point, we all decided that we’d had enough and just wanted to pay and leave, but our waitress was nowhere to be found again. We waited almost 10 minutes and still didn’t see her anywhere. One of us finally got up and walked into the indoor section and found her. She said that she’d be right out with our check. We waited almost another 10 minutes before she finally brought it out. To top it all off, they charged us for the iced tea even though we told her it was undrinkable. We didn’t want to wait any longer for her to fix the bill, so we just paid for it and left. Needless to say, we won’t be back.

Service was slow to start. We sat for 20 mins before waited on and then the waitress was rushing to get us out. Sirloin was over cooked and cheesecake was freezer burned (cheesecake was taken off the bill).

clam chowder with sousages was awful Food / Salmon was overcooked - terrible chef Wine was terrible , probably from the bottle which was opened few days ago. It tasted as a cheap home made wine. I would not recommend to go to that restaurant

Nobody greeted us at the door. We sat ourselves, had to finally go ask someone for menus. Food was terrible, not a lot of options, overpriced. Ordered a salad for dinner. The dressing was awful. Asked the waitress for a different dressing. She said they didn't have any. I said I can't eat this. She offered me something else. I told her I would take some nachos to go instead. She took the salad away all but 2 bites eaten. Did not take the salad off the check. Nachos were inedible. I paid a fortune for meal and came out starving. I was pissed. This was the worst! The atmosphere was nice though. Right on the water. Other than that will never go back. Save your money🤢

The staff of servers and hostess seemed disgruntled to have to seat an entire family. There is beautiful outdoor seating. It’s a shame they cannot get staff to compliment it and not be hassled by having to put their drinks down and fulfill customer service. They were visibly disgruntled to the extent that we asked if everything was ok. They said it was just busy, even though it was mostly empty tables. They never asked if we needed another drink, not even a water refill. The food- hit or miss. We thought about getting the kids dessert, but the server was having a drink at the bar and left us waiting for anything further, let alone the check. I hope you can get some new management.

Our food was good and the view was amazing however our service was awful! Stephanie was the rudest waitress I have ever experienced. We went for a dinner with family before my brother's wedding and her attitude ruined it. She gave attitude about a 2 year old who dropped a fork, claped at my mom to get her attention, completely ignored my mother in law asking a question when she clearly heard her, and gave the most attitude I've ever experienced at a restaurant when my mom was trying to explain how she wanted to split the check. It took a decent meal down to a not so great one. For how expensive the meals were I expected a much higher level of service or at the least a server who just was slightly nice.

Like another reviewer had posted… booth had dead bar flies all over the window. Food took a little long to receive considering the amount of business that was present at the time (next to none). Didn’t have much choice due to lack of inventory… The tacos were extremely soggy by the time I got them and my wife’s steak was well done despite being ordered as medium rare.

If I could give this place a -zero I would. Saturday night on 9/21 we arrived at the restaurant at 6:20 the place was almost empty. We were a party of 10 7 kids and 4 adults. We asked if we could please seat outside and we were told there was no room outside ( tons of tables available). We sat inside and took two booths. 10 minutes went by and finally the waitress came over. We were ready to order and gave her all the order for both the kids and adults. Drinks and everything. We had kids with us from ages 4-11. Three of the boys played at a baseball tournament and they were starved. About 30 minutes later she showed up with the drinks. 7:30, 7:45 and no food. Kids were getting anxious and cranky because they were tired and hungry. Around 7:50 food for 5 out of the 6 dinner order for the kids came over but one. We waited for another 10 minutes to see if the chicken nuggets and fries arrived and then our waitress finally showed up to ask us “ do you want to order more food” when we told her we didn’t even get the food that we actually order instead of apologizing gave an attitude and stormed away. Then another 10 minutes went by and she came to tell us that one of the appetizers that we ordered “just ran out” when she said that and we asked her how come they ran of that since we had ordered 2 hrs ago? She didn’t have an answer a d she stormed away from the table again. Finally she brought the chicken nuggets and fries. We sat there for 2.5 hrs waiting for something that never came. No one came to apologize or acknowledge the mistake. We asked for the check and she dropped the checks while she was eating food and couldn’t even talk to us. It is unacceptable how we were treated and no one even apologized for what was happening. I called after to see if the manager what’s available and I was told she wasn’t. I asked for the manager’s name and I was told her name was Christine Elle not sure if that is her actual name given that the person on the phone was laughing. Needless to say, SAVE YOURSELF THE AGGRAVATION and don’t go there. Don’t want to go there specially if you are hungry. I had to go to another restaurant and wait another time for food. And on top of all... the owner is calling me a liar! I am not sure what you saw but WHY would I lie about something like this? I have 3 other adults that are ready to write the same as I did. NOTHING was discounted. We PAID for the kids meals the 3 beers and the ice tea we ordered. So please feel free so show me the videos and send me an email. I am willing to talk to you but DO NOT CALL ME A LIAR. THAT I AM NOT!

I understand it was Harborfest this weekend. However, this is not the first time we have had subpar food at this restaurant, just bland with no flavor. The service was beyond bad. We observed multiple people get up and leave from not being served at the bar. The two bartenders looked like they had no sense of urgency or care. The only plus to this establishment is the view and open air concept.

I really wanted to enjoy this place, but it just wasn't meant to be on this night. We went on Friday night for the college's family weekend so it was semi busy but nothing crazy. We were sat right away which was nice. However, then we waited nearly 5 minutes for menus because they didn't have enough. Seemed like they are going for a more upscale Mexican fusion type place but missed the mark. The inside that's not directly on the water looked like a Dennys with a bar with the outside similar to a sports bar feel. The music outside was a bit too loud to the point I couldn't hear everyone at my table. Christina was pretty quick with the sodas and waters. We ordered the daily egg rolls and calamari to start. The broccoli, ham, cheddar, and rice egg rolls were good but needed more cheese for the filling, and the sauce didn't compliment them at all. It was like a spicy sweet chili sauce you would get at an Asian restaurant but slightly different. We did not know it was spicy until you dipped into it - not great when you have kids. Recommend servers tell the sauce when announcing the specials. The calamari breading was okay but I it tasted like the fryer needed to be changed. Most of the night was spent waiting for water refills. I also ordered the "house special" chowder that I've seen mentioned in a lot of reviews that the owner defends as highly desired. The flavor was good but not great as far as as New England chowder goes. I'll admit the chorizo is a nice addition but that's as far as it goes for me. It's presented in a large metal bowl with a potato you have to chop up yourself, and the clams in the shell. A very interesting presentation that intrigued me. I prefer a bit thicker of a chowder, which this was not - pretty watery. The clams were bad and past expiration. That was the end of that. Entrees came out and we had to wait 5 minutes for the 2 fish frys to come out after all the other food. Very disappointing since those were the most simple of our order. Trying the fish, again clear the fryer needed changed based on the color and flavor of the breading. On top of the fish frys, one person got the French onion, one got the spiedini, one got the gnocchi, and I got the sirloin steak. I didn't try the spiedini but it looked interesting. The sirloin was cooked correctly, but the zucchini slab was not seasoned and the whole shallot was roasted in something that just made it slimy. The brown brandy cream was more like a gravy than a sauce - very thick but pretty good flavor that tasted like it had gorgonzola or blue cheese in it. My son enjoyed the gnocchi but said there were no meatballs but more a meat sauce. My other son really liked the French onion, but again I have had much better elsewhere. Overall, we would never return here unless we wanted drinks by the water. The other places we've tried in the area have had better service and food in my opinion. If you are looking for someplace for a special dinner, go elsewhere. If you don't mind the full on vice of a hotel restaurant/sports bar, this is your place.

M
Monica Radecki

This was a lousy establishment. The wait staff was really bad... so clueless and lazy. Not going to get into everything she did, but disappointing... Brought out insufficient silverware and a dirty bowl, too. The lunch menu has meals that are only served at dinner. The food was underwhelming. The side salad was half rotten lettuce with their "special" in house homemade dressing that looked like throw up. And the whole family got stomach aches from the food. I would encourage you to go elsewhere.
