OMG what another fantastic dinner at my most favorite Italian Restaurent in Oswego. I took my mom out for Mothers Day dinner and of coarse it has to be Vonas. As usual Tom and Mary Jane and Joey a super great dinner. As I mentioned before I have been dinning at your establishment going on 27 yrs and I will keep on going. Your waitresses are the best very socialable and always checking if we need anything. My mom Jean Babcock was also very pleased and she and my late father Henry have been a customer of Vonas longer than I have. Once again THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE AT VONAS. GREAT JOB.

The garlic pizza was absolutely delicious! Great service; friendly staff. However, whoever decided to serve the pizzas with serrated knives clearly has never tried to cut a pizza with one, lol.

DELICIOUS! The Vona's pasta sauce(gravy) is out of this world good. Meatballs are well flavored and tender. My wife ordered the porterhouse with risotto, the steak was cooked to perfection and the risotto was to die for. This is my new home for a great Italian meal. Oh and the price was reasonable for the quality of food. Our waitress Dorothy was very pleasant and attentive but not overbearing. Perfecto!

One of my favorite places to eat in Oswego! Their meatballs are amazing! Chicken riggies are also delicious. Anything I have tried has been delicious. The wait staff is always excellent- so friendly and attentive.

Vonas is an absolutely fine establishment run by a ton of great people who are very nice and look out for more than just theirselves. I’ve never had a terrible experience and neither has my wife. This guy is making a stupid political statement cause he is a selfish clown who only looks out for himself. If you haven’t been go and try the food and enjoy the great hospitality by the workers!

Wonderful food, environment, and service—the service especially is wonderful. The place was absolutely packed and yet the food came out relatively quickly. Just an overall nice environment with good quality food and drinks.

Highest quality restaurant to eat at in town. All portions are very large and prices are more than fair. I've had several different dishes for vonas and I have never been unsatisfied. The staff is also very kind and accomodating. Just can't go wrong all around coming here to eat.

As always Vonas is the best Italian Restaurant in Oswego County. The service is fantastic the food is fresh and hot. Christine is a wonderful waitress, very accomodating. My girlfriend and I went. There were so many good choices, especially if Italian is your favorite. We got Christine to bring us a sample of Vona's sauce with our Italian bread. YUM! Both got a side salad. Then friend got cheese manicotti swimming in sauce. I got homemade egg noodles with meatballs. Meatballs were very meaty rather than breadcrumbs and I could taste the garlic. Oh how I love garlic. Asked for yet another side of sauce. Could have eaten a bowl of it with bread and been happy. My friend ordered a lemom cake that was fabulous and refreshing. I got the cheesecake. Super creamy with vanilla bean seeds throught. Very different from most cheesecakes yet very good. My current favorite is a Burnt Basque cheesecake because its so easy to make. Anyhow, I would definitely eat here again. Good service, good food, pleasant atmosphere. We had a booth. Don't hesitate to try it. I am super picky about my Italian food.

I have friends from North of the Border and when they come for a visit they always say we are going to Vonas Restaurant for dinner of coarse I reply absolutely, and you ought to see there expression. I would like to share the dining experience yesterday. I had the Italian chicken, baked potato and Caesar salad. It was the best meal I’ve had in a long long time, salad was fresh and crisp. Chicken was tender as tender could be and the potato was cooked perfect. Needless to say the staff And the management are very attentive and sweet 😊👍❤️ I will be returning soon😁

Our extended family has frequented this restaurant since before I was born (over 50 years). Most recently they hosted my entire extended family and close friends after we buried my father. I had not been at Vina's in 17 years. It did not disappoint and we did not even eat Italian. Their staff always treat you like family.

We are new to the area and want some good Italian food. Found Vona with a goggle search so we checked it out. The first time we had dinner there and the second time had take out. The food is amazing!!! Quality is great and prices not bad. Don’t mind paying for good food and service. We will definitely be back and can’t wait for warmer weather when we can sit outside.

Dined here on a night that prime rib was the special. It came with two sides, and the prime rib was a huge portion. I have never had a better prime rib in my life. Absolutely melt-in-your-mouth good. The Italian dressing on the side salad never disappoints. It is made in house, and I am always tempted to buy a pint of it from the kitchen after eating at Vona’s. This place is consistently excellent, and I have never had any form of a bad experience here. Great service and even better food.

They had an abundance of wait staff whom watched for any customer needs without pestering. They also boxed up our leftovers as well. However, I wasn't a fan of the sauce on my lasagna. It tasted like tomato juice or sauce without any other seasonings. The lasagna also fell apart.

Same old Vona's... Never had a bad meal. "New owners" are great & will be coming back as a "regular". Had a nice girls lunch that was needed❣️ I had a meatball sandwich & small side salad with creamy Italian - yuuuummmmy. And a huge piece of coconut cream cake to take home. 😋🤤(Can't wait for dinner tonight! Hint-hint!)

Top notch Italian restaurant! Absolutely love the food. Service was very professional. Prices are very reasonable. Portions are large. Both of the ladies ate half their entrees and took the rest home. Homemade bread is fantastic. Small pieces of garlic pizza is also offered as a free appetizer. Free parking. Handicap accessible. All major credit cards accepted. Definitely our go-to restaurant for a great Italian meal.

Awesome! Server was great and friendly. Atmosphere is very nice to look at. And the food is stellar. The pasta I had was delicious. The noodles were nice and thick. The sauce was creamy and complimented the meat very well and overall fantastic! Definately would recommend.

Yum. Some dishes had an unusual, interesting twist to them, not in a bad way, just unexpected. Family is fabulous, gentleman we spoke to had a great story to tell of the restaurant's history. Better ambiance next to the fireplace, otherwise the rest of the dining room seems like a different restaurant. Will go again for good food!

Every dinner I've had here, has been absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is very cozy, and the waitstaff couldn't be nicer. I've recommended them to several people looking for a good meal out at something other than a run of the mill chain restaurant.

Fantastic meal. Prime rib was the special and it was cooked perfectly! Like butter! Chicken cordon blue is always superb! Staff is fantastic and very accommodating to our 6 year old twins.

Been going here for over 50 years. This is a family operated real Italian restaurant with phenomenal dinners and reasonable prices. Best tasting salads (quality ingredients) anywhere. This restaurant is also my parents favorite, they've been going there since before I was born (!). Highly recommend for lunch or dinner.

Vona's went above and beyond for my daughter's 18th birthday celebration. Not only were they accommodating, considerably cheaper than their local competitor ($475 compared to $850 for 25 to 30 guests), but the food was absolutely amazing. I am a local who had never eaten at Vona's and was very loyal to their competitor, but after this exceptional experience I'll never go elsewhere for fresh Italian food in Oswego.

This place is amazing! The server Jessica treated us with great respect and was very attentive. Our waitress was very quick and brought our food out in a timely manner. The food was hot and full of flavor. The dessert was homemade-coconut cream pie! Portion sizes were real generous. The music they had tonight was very good also. Can’t wait to come back again!

Growing up I always used to go to Vona’s and enjoyed it. I was just back in town the other night for the first time in about 7 years so I drove up from Cicero to go to Vona’s on 6/22 and had a great experience. Their cheesy garlic bread was just as I remembered it, the chicken parm actually tasted better than I remember and the staff was friendly. There was a mix up with the drink I ordered but they took care of it and corrected it. Vona’s is a must to go to if you are anywhere in the Syracuse area!

The atmosphere was warm, charming, quite, even the mature crowd at bar kept it to a low rumble. The vintage 60's/70's decor and dim lighting took me back in time. My lasagne and stuffed hot cherry peppers was the best Italian food I've eaten in a very long time. My waitress was humble, friendly, and attentive, without hovering. Vona's is a 10 in my book.

We enjoyed our out of town visit. The service was great. I thought the sauce was lacking. But overall good.

The cook misread the dinner order. Then in a hurry to make it right, way undercooked it. They made me something else and it was great! I miss those meatballs ! You can't get those that good in the south. I will stop the next time thru.

Food & service were very good. The 3 of us stopped there around 12:45pm - not very busy. The menu was minimal - not a lot to choose from. Maybe the dinner menu has more to offer.

The broiled fish is to die for. The butter wine sauce is so delicious on my baked potato. All the food at Vonas is good but the broiled cod is outstanding.

Its been years since I've been, prob decades. I'm so glad they survived Covid. The lasagna is delicious and my dinner mates seemed to really enjoy the gnocchi and alfredo pasta. I missed the garlic bread that used to be served when you were seated. I had the cannoli; it was only ok and I'll pass next time.

Everything was decent. Got the osso buco which was made with pork. The server brought us mini garlic pizza slices which was their happy hour snack. I just hate not getting Italian bread.

75 years old Italian eatery. We were seated in the newest addition which was clean and nice, but not the atmosphere of the original area. Service was very friendly but as we were one of many tables sat in a short time span, the kitchen was understandably a little backed up. Food was worth the wait. Its a tad expensive for what you get. Meal does come with 4 slices of bread but no salad or soup unless you pay for them. We had lasagna and chicken fetticine alfredo and 2 mixed drinks for $80 (without tip added) - could not taste any alcohol in drinks so asked for another shot to be added. So we paid for doubles. Waitress was wonderful, lasagna was over baked. Alfredo sauce was delicious.

Got the steak and shrimp special. Shrimp were amazing, crispy and not greasy, fried ravioli was awsome and my husbands chicken parm eas on point. My steak however tasted like smoke, like maybe something had been burned in the kitchen. Other that that it was top game.

An old favorite...but, today we discovered that favorite appetizer, clams casino, is no longer on the menu!? Also...no salad with a pasta meal that is approximately the cost of a beef, pork or chicken meal. I doubt that the cost of lettuce and a few cherry tomatos has skrocketed!? Rather disappointed...

The onion soup was mostly bread and very little onion. My crab alfredo was tasteless. There was no parmesan cheese in the alfredo sauce. I asked for extra garlic to be sauteed in the butter & added to the sauce. The garlic was raw. They did change & comp my meal which was nice. We may give them another chance, I don't know.

I had a reservation for Saturday for 16 people, got there and they squeezed us at a table set for 12. They added a gratuity to the bill which I didn't realize and I added $130 in cash gratuity, so the server a actually received about a 45% tip. Called for an itemized bill since I didn't receive one and was told someone would return my call which never happened. Hopefully the server realized she received a hefty tip.

I've gotten the Alfredo four times here and only once has it been good. All the other times it's dripping oil or butter idk and it's disgusting tasting. My bf got chicken riggies and it was also super oily. Their service is delightful, but for food I'd say go to canales. Their live music choices are also not the best.

Not gonna lie the place wasn't very busy felt pretty ignored at first. We ordered our food waited not very long my steak was cooked great but didn't have much taste to it. Broccoli kinda tasted like plastic.My Shrimp were so so overcooked I ate one could not finish the rest. She did take those off the bill. Waitress was great very sweet made sure it was taken off of our bill. The place is beautiful. I love the atmosphere. It was quiet and friendly.

Not sure what happened to this once fantastic establishment, but my last visit was truly disappointing. I unfortunately can not recommend them now. Hopefully they will one day again produce a quality dinning experience with quality food.

Placed an order for delivery and already on the phone it was off to a bad start. They completely fumbled our order. When it arrived it was only half of what we requested and half of whatever they chose to send. 13.95 for the "jumbo" shrimp cocktail and that request fell short with them providing me with a sad 5 medium sized shrimp and a small bowl of cocktail sauce. Atleast i could fall back on my delicious strawberry cheesecake right? NOPE! What I received was more like a flat strawberry mouse/strawberry creamcheese molded into a pie shape with a fresh grahmcracker crust...nothing resembling cheesecake. Vonas step it up because your.charging alot if money to mess alot of things up! Looks like they will be going into the bread and butter club, thats where the best part of the meal is the bread and butter! Like many other restaurant's in oswego

Food was good, however service was inconsistent and washy on a Monday. Server was kind, however repeatedly messed up appetizer and the “free” appetizer never came. Probably will not be returning again, sorry.

If you are going to serve"Crab Alfredo" it should have real crab. Imitation crab is unacceptable. Eggplant parm was pretty good though. Doesn't look like place has had anything done to it in 30 years or so. Like having dinner in grannys basement.

The restaurant looked nice from the outside, but we had to wait 15 minutes past our reservation time. The service was slow and unfriendly. The pasta was overcooked and covered in sauce, and the food was of low quality and tasteless. Was very pricey for the quality. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

Pre-meal bread was dry and cold. Pasta was not great. Alfredo sauce had little flavor and was almost like milk. “Vons’s famous meat sauce” had no meat. No fresh Parmesan, just in a jar in the table. Not recommended and will not go back.

Not good and overrated. The chicken taste like the other place down the road. The breading is so thick with a thin piece of chicken meat with the breast cut in half providing two pieces which makes the plate look plentiful, but the chicken meat is skimpy, and the breading is thick and nasty. Added the eggplant a top of it. I thought they used it as a sponge to wipe up all the oil. There’s so much sauce you could take a bath in it not a traditional Italian place which means I don’t have any of those classics, but I wouldn’t come back to this place.

Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had we walked in and were waiting patiently to be seated we were walked by FIVE workers not one said anything finally I asked if we seat ourselves because we had never been there, they finally seated us, poured water and left no one ever came back, walked by the table multiple waitresses and workers walked by we were clearly ready to order and no one said anything we left I will NEVER go back and NEVER recommend !

Food was overcooked and bland, Looks like it hasent been updates since the 80's. Hostess was disorganized, moving tables and chairs around the whole time. It wasn't very busy. Seen almost every one of the staff eating.

Manager was rude to my out of town guests. Food was cooked incorrectly, Manager argued it was cooked correctly. Took over hour and half to get meals. Manager told us to take complaints out on our server and we could go to Canales.

They should have changed the name when they recently reopened. This is not Vona's. This is a fast food italian restaurant in the shell of an old favorite. No veal parm, no ravioli, cold bread, and when I asked to warm it, they microwaved it. Hand full of wines to choose from. So disappointed. Staff apologizing to us and other tables for the low grade food. Lost a good customer in us. Good luck.

we stopped going here after a visit after covid... went the other night and didn't stay, we were seated had a basket of 3 pieces of bread in it tossed on the table as she walked by... bite of bread taste like a mouth full of raw dough and flour tast yuck .. 15 mins later no one has come for drinks yet and they place was not busy at all (now i know why) got up and left

You'll get better food with better portions from Ruby Tuesday's. It's been 5+ years since I've been here so I decided to take my partner out for date night. We ordered the bruschetta as an app, stuffed rigatoni (sub meat sauce for rose) and the chicken cordon bleu special for our entrees. We never got the bruschetta because our waitress "forgot" yet the table behind us got "an extra app because they cooked too much." It was our appetizer. Second, when our entrees were brought out, in hand was the CCB and stuffed peppers(?). Waitress claimed she wrote down the neighboring tables meal as my partners. The manager asked if he'd accept it, to which we starkly said no because he is vegetarian- which was also stated at the beginning our meal, hence the swap of meat sauce. After waiting 15 minutes for them to bring out the right dish, his pasta was severally undercooked and soupy. For $22 you get 7 pieces of rigatoni. That's it. My CCB for $27 was paper thin chicken that was no larger than my fist and had 1 slice of ham inside it, never tasted the Swiss cheese, if it was even in it. It appears they went from homemade meals to Sysco products, it was truthfully awful food and a horrible experience. The neighboring table also had several issues, didn't get one of their meals, waitress found every excuse in the book, etc.

honestly i had high hopes for vonas the restaurant itself is nice and the staff seemed nice. now to the bad i picked up dinner for myself and my wife for date night and we now regret it. i had the pizza wich is definately poor quality and reminds me of a bowling alley pizza or chuck e cheese quality of not worse. my wife had a bruschette wich the bread was soggy and it had a bunch of large raw garlic cloves on it. Her baked zitti was also upsetting as it was bland and typically baked zitti is noodles red sauce and cheese melted on top but they apparently decided to melt the cheese what little there was on top the bare noodles and then poor red sauce on top not what my wife or i expected. then the stuffed mushrooms well you only get 5 of various sizes with imitation crab meat as noted on theyre menu for 10 dollars overall bland and not worth the money. last but not least the tortellini in alfredo sauce looks sad tastes like nothing and sad and the end to a very expensive and horrible food experience if you want good tasting italian food drive down the road to canales theyre food is on a much higher level
