Got the sour cream enchiladas and they were delicious! I highly recommend this place if you’re coming through town. Chips and salsa come with each meal!

Consistent Tex-Mex. Great fajitas. Don't fill-up on the yummy chips and salsa. A forever popular spot with the locals. Clean. Good wait staff. Super-friendly owners and managers (These folks just know how to run a restaurant!). Family-friendly. Non-smoking. Does not serve alcohol. Large groups (of 10 to 16 or so) do not phase the patient wait-staff. Very busy and efficient during lunch/dinner rush

Stopped in on a hunch while we drove through this small town. The food was absolutely excellent, and we are jealous that we don't have this place in our hometown. Great service, everything was delicious. No alcohol was the only downside, as I do like to enjoy a Mexican beer or margarita with my Mexican food. Not sure if it's just the restaurant or it may be a dry town, as we've never been through here before. Would definitely return if I find myself back in Palestine, TX for any reason!

Their food was delicious. My kids loved the frijoles. They’re 1 and 7 months lol I got the fajita combo and my husband got the fajita nachos. Food was very filling and great flavor. The only downside is they don’t serve alcohol but it’s okay. The restaurant definitely deserved the 5 stars and not to mention our waiter Luis was very attentive! Highly recommend if you want some delicious texmex.

This is one of my favorite restaurants and has been for over 30 years. Staff are all very friendly and the owner is always there to greet everyone. The food is always hot and fresh. Everything on the menu is delicious. This place is almost always busy from noon to closing. If we have time to eat in we will but since we no longer live in Palestine we usually place a call in order to pickup.

I have been going to this establishment since I was a child with my parents. Now as a adult I've carried my children there. As far as I can remember the service has always been nice and the food has always been good. I would consider this one of the favorite places for my family to eat in Palestine. I've always thought they had the best hot sauce. I definitely recommend this place to eat.

Food was very good & fresh. Place was clean. Server was excellent Pricey tho. We had separate checks and a #2 dinner with one enchilada, 1 taco , beans and rice, no drink just water was $14.06. Add in tip, almost $20 total one person no drink.

We celebrated Mother's Day there today. We had seven people coming from four directions. It was a great meeting place. Little Mexico was recommended by a friend, and we are thankful. It was really good. Everyone had great things to say. The chips, queso, and guacamole were really good. I loved the chi Ken Tortilla soup. My chalupa crispy tortilla was soggy, but it still tasted good. Very good experience. Great service, too.

A don't miss restaurant! Little Mexico is a 5 generation family favorite. Food is always delicious and consistent. It's hard not to fill up on excellent chips and salsa even with your food on the table in 10 minutes no matter how busy they are. I never miss a chance to eat at Little Mexico when traveling through and you shouldn't either.

I have eaten there since childhood. We love the chips and salsa (brought a pint home)! This is the best place for cheese enchiladas. But my other favorite is the special nachos with meat and jalapeños. A dab of sour cream and guacamole make them perfect. I can also recommend the beef tacos. Service is always kind and attentive.

The tacos are great too with generous filling and crisp shells. My favorite is the "special meat nachos with peppers." They are individualized rounds of chips with beans, meat, cheese and a slice of jalapeño on top. They pair perfectly with the side of sour cream and guacamole that comes with them. The staff is attentive, and the prices are right!

Great stop for TexMex food. We had the lunch beef fajita plate which was more than I could eat, and the enchilada and taco plate. All very tasty and our server was very nice and accommodating. Definitely worth a stop. It’s the big place with a lovely wisteria over the whole front porch.

Finally had opportunity to try this place. Being in East Texas a lot, Mexican food if good quality is hard to come by. This is definitely more Tex Mex, than straight up Mexican food, but the quality surpassed any we have had our in these parts. I had the tacos al Carbone. The meat was actually tender, moist fajita meat. Not leftover tidbits many restaurants try to serve. They even put a chili sauce with cheese melted on it between the rice and beans for your taco! Guacamole portion was way more than a spoonful and pico de gallo was plentiful as well. Service was also spot on and the restaurant was clean. We will be back!

The food was definitely delicious though it could have used a little more salt and pepper in the salsa but I was happy to see there was no cilantro. My server was nice and friendly though she was more attentive to her bigger tables but she was a great server just the same. I would very much recommend my friends to eat here.

It was alright. The lighting was very dim. I actually had to use my phone to read the menu, and saw someone else do so as well. The food was not bad, but it also was not the best I've ever had. The rice tasted prepackaged to me. But others at our table enjoyed it. You are looking at roughly 20 dollars or more per person to eat here.

Depending on what your order here, I would give the food either a three or a four star rating. Some of their dishes are served with chili con carne that clearly comes out of a can. However, their dishes with sour cream sauce seem to taste much better to me. They have great chips and queso and they serve their drinks in large glasses. Service is excellent. The interesting thing is that this restaurant and its sister restaurant in Athens Texas have both been open for more than 35 years. And all that time their menu has changed very little and it's still appears to be a family-owned and run operation. When I happen to be in East Texas I often visit this restaurant simply because I know what I am getting and I know that I will have a decent meal for a decent price and be happy that I stopped there for old time's sake.

We were greeted and seated quickly. The restaurant was very busy, yet our beverages were cold, our food hot and service was surprisingly attentive given that our waitress had multiple large party tables in addition to ours. Great place for families with small children!

I only ever get the grilled chicken fajita soft tacos with grilled onions, lettuce, and tomatoes. They were fabulous, as usual. My daughter tried the steak burrito. Neither of us liked it at all. She ended up eating one of my tacos, and loved it. Everyone's taste is different. As always, the service was impeccable.

Greeted as soon as we walked through the door. Staff and waiter was all super friendly. Queso dip was awesome! By far our favorite thing. Enchiladas were hot and fresh, quesadillas were crisp and kids chicken strips disappeared. Prices were a bit steep but the quality of the food was probably worth it. When you go order the queso and hot, fresh tortillas.

First time here. Salsa was disappointing. The service was good especially since it took us a few to order. Overall the restaurant was nice. Love the outfits.

Overall my experience at Little Mexico was very good. The food was better than most of the other Mexican restaurants that I have visited. The tortilla soup was delicious! We received great service and, from what we saw, the place was clean. The restaurant could use more comfortable seating and better lighting. I don't believe the dimness was to create a sense of mood. Our meals were well worth their reasonable prices.

My family and I tried this restaurant as we were driving through Palestine. The restaurant was cute and clean. The food was decent. It was a little overpriced for the quality, but nothing terrible. However, the waitress was rude and far less than attentive. I would have given a 4, if we would have had a different waitress.

Service was good but unless you like bland tex mex drowned in melted Velveeta don't recommend the food. Three different meals all looked like same food messily piled on the plate in different order. Staff was nice and so it is a matter of taste I guess but I prefer real Mexican food to this. It was more like school cafeteria serving Tex Mex

I grew up going to little Mexico and after I left Oakwood and moved to Houston I would always return when I visited. Now I’m retired and since I’ve been back they have changed their cheese enchiladas that I have raved about to friends from here to Dallas and Houston and the rice. They have changed the cheese and give you less chili and the rice is not consistent like it used to be. It breaks my heart and sadly they don’t care because when I mention it they act as if they could care less about my opinion. I now go much less which means I don’t have my friends go. You’re trying to save $$ and it’s hurting you. And get some shrimp dish on the menu. That’s also hurting your business. Mr Dorman would be ashamed of yall!!

At first, I wasn't sure about the place. But it's worth it. As I walked in, I was greeted by the staff. There was no wait. My waitress was on top of things and very polite. Before i could even ask for anything, i had it. The food was very good. It wasn't bland. I think it could use a little more spices.

The salsa tasted like tomato sauce with peppers. The serve no alcohol at all. The steak quesadilla was the best thing we ordered. The waitress would walk over and we would give her one request and she'd walk away. The queso was disappointing. My family and I will not be going back.

I cant get over the fact yall served me canned chicken. And the salsa was made with stewed tomatoes very weird. Beautiful restaurant, awful food. Friendly staff and great service. My husband and I ordered beef enchiladas and chicken sour cream enchiladas. They were dry and crunchy. I'm sure they pre cook everything and then pour sauce over it instead of baking them in the sauce. The beans were crusty and the rice was flavorless.

Is there new owners, new manager, what's different??? First prices at pick up didn't match what I seen clearly written, now you don't even get what you order and are expected to like it. And really since when on food for 3-4 people do you get 1 little hot sauce and 1 small chip? You used to get 1 of those with each meal!!

What in the world happened to this place??? This was always my favorite restaurant when I lived in Palestine. Recently, driving through Palestine on my way to Canton with a friend, I decided to show him what was such a great restaurant. Unfortunately, I was highly embarrassed by having bragged about Little Mexico to my friend. While the service was great, the food was slop! Everything tasted like it came from a can or a frozen dinner. Whoever took this place over has completely ruined it. I'll never make the mistake of taking someone there again. Yuk!

I ordered the cheese enchiladas, and my husband ordered the beef burritos. Both orders were drowned in sauces that tasted straight out of a can. The food was bland and disgusting. My hisband sent his back for something different and it was still inedible. The service was also awful, and we had to wait 10-15 minutes just to recieve forks and knives. They also did not comp anything, or even apologize for such a terrible experience. My husband said this was hands down the worst restaurant and worst dining experience he has ever had. We payed $30 for a meal we could not even eat. This restaurant would just be better off closed.

Ok I can not figure out how people are giving this place a good rating. I want to give negative stars. The experience starts when walk into a poorly light room that reeks of mold and mildew! Should have been the 1st clue to turn around and walk out!! Next you go into the waiting/ restaurant area and can still barely see. The waitress was nice but got alot wrong. I understand it's not always the waiter/res fault. My husband and I ordered sour cream enchiladas. Mine were chicken and his was beef. No where on the menu did it say anything about olives (which I can't have) the enchiladas had no flavor and turned to mush immediately as you would expect with the mound of cheese and sauce on top. The refried beans were store bought canned beans. My husband's charro beans were watered down pinto beans with tons of oil. The rice was hard and molded together. My poor girls couldn't even eat their food. My youngest had the children's enchiladas that was over cooked and turned to mush. That part she liked! My middle daughter had the taco. We asked beef, cheese and lettuce only, yet it was drowning in hot sauce!!! A kids plate!!! Her sides had the same issue as ours. My oldest had steak fingers. She ate her food but said it was hard to chew and had no taste.. the best part was the chips and the salsa. If you want tex mex skip this place. All the good reviews are BOLD- FACED LIES! Update!!!!! We all got sick!!!!

Never trust a place that doesn't know how to make a decent salsa. It was like eating watered down ketchup with ROTEL in it. The service was excellent and it's a beautiful place but the food was sub par. Not sure how it's voted best restaurant in town. It's not even close to decent. Even the presentation was sloppy! If you want excellent Tex-Mex go to El Toro.

The chicken fajita lunch special was horrible. Chicken was not cooked. Sent it back. Second time the meal was horrible. I did not eat it. I said something to the cashier and the manager on duty. They apologized and said they would address with the kitchen. I still had to pay for the meal. I will not eat there again.

Took the family here based off the great reviews. Much to my surprise this place was the exact opposite of good. I ordered the sour cream enchiladas and I had to scrape the sour cream off. It wasn't like a sour cream sauce it was literally hot sour cream poured over the enchiladas. The rice was stale and guacamole was browning. The charro beans were just watered down canned pinto beans mush and every single item on the plate was bland. I don't think the great reviewers ate at this restaurant. A Mexican frozen dinner would have been better.

I’ve been coming here for years and I have always had great service until tonight. I ordered the normal special MEAT nachos. Upon getting home I realized I was given literally chips and cheese, no meat in sight. I went back to the restaurant thinking my order would be remade with no problem and was told I would have to pay extra for the meat that I had already ordered. I asked for a receipt because I wasn’t given one just to see what I was actually charged and they couldn’t even provide that for me…. Not sure who the manager on duty was but that ridiculous and unacceptable.

I can't describe in words the food that we were served. The rice was heated to such a degree that the edges were charred into tiny rocks. The beans were a blob of hardened lava. The sour cream enchiladas were the size of twinkies and zero taste. Now try to imagine a salad topped with avocado dip that has become hot sitting next to the beans, rice, and enchiladas after being dumped onto a hot plate. The only word I can think of is gross! My husband had nachos....should have been a safe enough choice! Wrong! Even the simplest of dishes was a huge disappointment. You can get better nachos at a little league baseball game. The only thing I can say was good was the glass of water. Chips and salsa...nope! Entrees.....nope. And as a side note....I timed the order. It took 7 minutes. Fast as hell, which tells me it was already made and waiting to be ordered.

Little Mexico in Palestine is no longer one of my favorite places to eat. The $6 bean soup came in a miniature dish that's only cute at a child's tea party. In the recent past their nachos were made with real cheese and garnished with a dab of guacamole, sour cream, peppers, and a little bit of lettuce and tomatoes. This evening the plate of nachos consisted of seven small chips, each topped with a dab of watered down, highly salted, cheese sauce that was lumpy and gritty. Just 7 small chips and bad cheese sauce, nothing else, not even peppers. I asked for fresh coffee and was assured the several hours old coffee was fresh. Their coffee used to be good, but this was undrinkable. $3 for two sips of undrinkable coffee, and I'm supposed to swallow it with a lie. Their website looks as if you can leave a review, but at the time of this writing, the links to write a review were not functioning. Looking more closely at the good reviews, none were current.

This restaurant was recommended, but chips were dry. We had to add salt, and never do that normally. The salsa tasted like pureed tomatoes from a can with a bit of jalapeño juice mixed in. The sour cream sauce had no flavor at all, tasted like thick paste, and the rice was inedible. I would not recommend this place.

My family has dined at Little Mexico for more than 35 years now. Today (Saturday at 3:00) my husband and I ordered food to go. 2 matador dinners, pint of salsa and chips. They charged over $42 (no drinks with this order) and didn’t put the bag of chips with the order. So then they added another $4.32 for that. After we got home (an hour away) I discovered that my chicken enchilada had chili gravy on it instead of sour cream. This made the enchilada absolutely inedible. I’ve never had to ASK for sour cream sauce on my chicken enchilada. I rarely eat out, so when I do, it really means a lot to me to have a nice meal that I didn’t have to cook. Very disappointing to pay $45 for something I can’t eat. Also disappointing that the same order would’ve cost us about $15 less if we had eaten in the restaurant (not including tip).

I don't understand the good reviews AT ALL. There are so many Mexican and Tex Mex restaurants in Palestine but Little Mexico is terrible!!!! Do the 4 and 5 star reviewers get paid? Are they lacking taste buds? Do they have any clue what real Mexican food tastes like?! I've been to Little Mexico about 3 times in the past 22 years and each time I go I say I will never go again. The salsa, beans, rice, chili gravy and ground beef all have tons of chili powder - so much that it's bitter and gross. The rice is coated in oil and hard. The beans were very crusted over and hard. The enchiladas are drowning in a very thick and pasty gravy and enough greasy cheese to give an elephant a heart attack! It's impossible to cut a bite out of the enchiladas because there is so much sauce they just fall apart into mush. The guacamole tastes like it came from Subway in a plastic squeeze bag and made from squash.... The best thing in the restaurant are the pecan chewy patties at the checkout. If I could give negative stars I would.

Not sure how they have 4.3 stars. This place was horrible. The food was cold and when we told waiter, he just said "sorry". Didn't even ask if he could do anything to make it better. The salsa wasn't good. I've actually had tv dinners better than this food.

The best TV dinner in town... Service is certainly the selling point of this restaurant. Great hostess and wait staff. The food however is a different story. The main dishes seem to be unseasoned and the sides are straight out of a can. Just think high school cafeteria and you get the idea. Do yourself a favor and skip this one. You can get the same meal for 99 cents and microwave it yourself.

Worst mexican food iv ever had. Doesn't even deserve to be called Mexican food. Taco bell is more authentic that this. We went a few years back passing through and said we wouldn't stop in again, well we did today hoping after a few years maybe they had changed, got a new cook or something... nope it was worse. I never complain about food or restaurants but this is one such occasion I feel deserves to be spoken of. My kids didn't even want to finish their food. Try better, do better. Completely change what ya got going on.
