My wife and I are obsessed with Azúcar!!! This is our spot for fun, romantic dates and where we bring guests from outside the desert! The poolside area is epic to get the mid-century modern feel and the rooftop at sunset is perfection! The main reason we go there is for José, pronounced Joe-Zay, the Brazilian way! He’s the best and has an uplifting, make-the-world-a-better-place type of a person! We’ve shared life events there, and shared our lives too! I don’t write reviews often but only for BEST PLACES WITH THE BEST VIBES!!! I’m actually headed there tonight with some house guests from the east coast!!!
It was a wonderful evening with amazing dishes! We loved it. The staff, thanks also to Linda as well!, was wonderful and made the evening special and a huge compliment to the chef Wes who made all the dishes we had just very delicious!
My husband and I visited Azúcar to celebrate our anniversary. We had a great time dressing up and having a fancy dinner here. Our server, Rodney, was the sweetest and made us feel welcomed and had amazing recommendations. He even treated us to sparkler in sorbet to celebrate our anniversary. The host even offered to take our picture as we were leaving too! We enjoyed our time here!
This hotel restaurant is open to the public, and so worth a visit. The decor is gorgeous, and the rooftop is stunning. And the food and cocktails are even better; innovative and sophisticated ! The menu is contemporary Spanish-influenced food - I had Dungeness Crab Stuffed Poblano Pepper and my husband had a modern take on Pollo Mole. Our only regret was that the hotel was booked so we could not stay there!
Had a reservation for a bachelorette party and the entire experience was wonderful! We were greeted by Jose who happily took photos for us and gave us recommendations on where we could keep the party going! The halibut and cocktails are amazing - a Palm Springs staple now with every visit!
🌟 Azúcar Palm Springs– Beautiful Space & Incredible Service! Azúcar has a gorgeous outdoor patio and a beautifully designed indoor space that’s both chic and welcoming. The staff was amazing✅️ — super helpful with recommending dishes and explaining the ingredients. We loved the spicy margaritas🌶 and the refreshing appetizer with watermelon🍉, feta, and mint. Everything felt thoughtful and delicious. Highly recommend dining here — and staying at the hotel too if you can! Thank you from @trippintraveladventures🧡
What a great experience for my sister‘s birthday the drinks, the food atmosphere and most of all the service was excellent. Lynda and Anahi were amazing. They really made my sister’s birthday extra special. I highly recommend this place. It’s 10 out of 10.
The food could have been terrible and I still would have left with smiles because of our Server Rodney! Every dish was also incredible, so that was just the cherry on top.
We wanted to check out the new menu. As always, the ambiance was perfect. Dining by the pool was serene and romantic. The staff was impeccable, attentive, friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and flavorful, well prepared. The main courses we ordered were plated with the protein entree only, except for a few morels or cippolini onions that were more of a garnish. We would have like a side dish or two to enjoy with the entree. Aside from the starter salads and appetizers, there were not any to choose from.
We had the best grilled artichoke we’ve ever had the other night. It was big and super flavorful. We also enjoyed the stuffed peppers both with crab and with papas fritas. The service was great and the wine tasty. It was a lovely meal.
Managers were completely accommodating to our group. We had wonderful service and enjoyed the view and the drinks.
Staying at the hotel we hopped in and out this restaurant at different times. For breakfast it was too expensive and too much sugar, but hey it’s maybe due the name. For lunch the food was fine but pricey for the quality. For dinner, the rooftop was a nice place to chill, relax and have dinner. Wine menu was not so great. Servers were always friendly and the wait time varied from slow to fast. Food in the evening was ok, nothing to complain about. I particularly liked the surf and turf combo. Can get noisy at times with large groups booking tables, so not for a romantic dinner.
If you’re reading this, do not go or go with caution. I recognize PS is not a culinary experience town but there has to be a standard. First of service was nice, the person helping our table was kind. It was a slow night so he was also the bar tender. The drinks were awful classic old fashioned made terrible and their highly sought out after Margaritas taste terrible at least the blood orange one did. The meal was sub par what really upset me is the medium rare steak Caesar salad was on the medium well end of the spectrum looked pretty but so chewy. Maybe just not a good night for them but I would not be going back.
The food was good and great wine selection. The only issue i had was the seating. It is Tuesday evening, not crowded at all, and I was placed on a lounge sofa to have dinner! I mentioned to the waitress that eating was very uncomfortable, and all she did was agree and did not offer to relocate. If I wanted to have dinner being comfy and laid back. I would have ordered room service at my hotel. I am glad my client was not able to make it and experience this. Again, the food was great, but the experience of eating dinner from my lap killed it for me. First and last time I come here
We have been to this restaurant many times, as we live in Palm Springs, and after having dinner here last night, I had to update my review. (which was previously 5 stars) The restaurant has changed hands and is now under new management with a new chef. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has suffered. Our entrees were not well presented, seemed small in terms of portions, and really were not that enjoyable. The stuffed Pablano pepper used to be my favorite thing on the menu, but now it’s terrible. I’m hoping that some constructive and critical reviews will inspire this restaurant to bring back the excellent quality of their entrees and appetizers. I can say that Jose, the restaurant manager, was absolutely amazing and did his best to be sure that we had an enjoyable time with our friends. We discussed the decreased quality of the menu items with him, and he appreciated our input and honesty. We can’t recommend this restaurant to our friends for now, but maybe in the future they will improve. If you decide to try this restaurant, be sure to make a reservation and ask for the upstairs outdoor seating. They also have indoor seating, and additional outdoor seating downstairs by the pool. There are two bars, both upstairs and downstairs, but if you decide to stop here for a drink, definitely go upstairs.
Not sure about this place. We were told it was a good spot and maybe it was an off night, but the service and food were a letdown, especially for the price. Long waits for water, messed up orders, and uninspired food that oddly seemed a little makeshift. Atmosphere is nice and quiet though. I think there are better options around.
This will be my last and final chance I’m giving this restaurant. Let me start by saying I never feel welcomed when I come. This last time really made me upset. I went with my son for brunch and didn’t have a reservation. The man at the host stand was very dismissive. I asked for the patio and he said we don’t have any tables, you’ll have to dine downstairs. I asked if he’d double check because if there aren’t any tables, we’ll go elsewhere. Well lo and behold there was a table available. There were a couple of tables available actually. He rudely questioned my son’s age and my son said he’s 22 and he said well we are a 21+ establishment…ok, he said he’s 22. Then he again proceeds to say have your ID ready if you’re ordering a drink, as if he didn’t believe him. I was SO annoyed. Then as we were walking up the stairs he says so were you just walking by? No Mr. Sarcasm, we are locals and this is like my 10th time here. The Michelada was trash, my son asked for no tomatoes on his sandwich, and it came loaded with tomatoes and the French toast was dry and and came with a tiny dish of syrup. We had zero service. Nobody checked on us to see how our food was, we had to wait and flag someone down for our bill. We were in the corner in a shaded spot so it was a little chilly so we asked somebody to turn the heater on. The rude older guy at the host stand made a very rude comment like, what are you cold because this table is gonna be hot because they are in the sun. I just could not stand his attitude. I just wanted to scream, but I was trying to make it a pleasant experience for my son. I’m so angry at myself that I brought my son here because the last couple experiences haven’t been great. I should’ve known better. The only good thing is the ambiance.
I would give ZERO stars if I could. If you’re coming to Palm Springs and if this restaurant is on the list DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. I made a reservation for my birthday at the rooftop and they said oh unfortunately due to the “weather” we are closed. It was a few rain drop. And there was another couple who booked for the roof top and they were denied. However, there was 2 OTHER COUPLES were able to be seated at the roof top….Also the food is trash.i got the stuffed crab pablsno pepper. Trash. Dog poop. I don’t know why these people are giving 5 stars to the food when it’s average. The only good thing was the blood orange margarita. I wanted to pay one server said we don’t accept Apple Pay only card or cash. Luckily I had cash. Then the second server said we do take Apple Pay. What’s the difference between taking Card and Apple Pay when they take the machine? Are you guys that lazy?
I’m writing this as a very frustrated husband. My wife and a group of her friends went to Azúcar Palm Springs on Saturday night for dinner to celebrate a girls’ get-together. What should have been a fun, memorable weekend turned into a disaster. By early Sunday morning, every single one of them was extremely sick — fever, chills, and nonstop vomiting & diarrhea that lasted all day Sunday and into Monday. It was bad enough that some flights home had to be cancelled and hotel stays had to be extended because no one was physically well enough to travel. What was meant to be a celebration ended up being days of misery and unexpected expenses. The timing after their dinner there is very concerning. Based on this experience, I would absolutely not recommend going here. Cleanliness and sanitization clearly do not seem to be a priority, and the outcome was unacceptable. Very disappointing and incredibly upsetting situation.
Ate upstairs on patio. Great ambiance. 3 of us for bd dinner. Artichoke app great..margaritas with blood orange so so. Ordered chicken mole first bite had long hair in it. Ordered a salad instead and it took 20 minutes to get it. Churrodessert not anything as described on menu. Manager apologized for hair in food and took off bill, but no comp for drinks or appetizers. Wd not return.
