Had a great experience at Kings Highway in Palm Springs! The atmosphere perfectly captures that classic desert-modern vibe — stylish but still relaxed and comfortable. The space is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, making it a great spot to sit back and enjoy the meal. The food was excellent — fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with attention to detail. Service was warm and welcoming, and the overall energy of the restaurant made the experience even better. Our son especially loved the music, which added a really fun and lively touch to the visit. Definitely worth a visit when you’re in Palm Springs. We’ll be back!
We spent 10 days at the Ace Hotel and had breakfast here everyday and it was such a treat. The team is exceptional: professional, warm and friendly, personable, they really care. We loved our breakfast everyday. We will remember our time here ♥️ thank you Anna and everyone at King’s Highway!!!
Best neighborhood gem for comfort food. I ordered the meatloaf; my companion, the Ruben. Both portions were substantial so, a leftover box was needed even though we really wanted to eat it all. Also, great service from our server, JP. Thanks.
I can't brag enough how fantastic of a server Daniel was the day my friends and I visited in August. He's what one would call top tier server. He was friendly, welcoming, informative, and extra attentive. Serving just came natural to him, it seems. We weren't the only table he was serving. There were several others. We liked him. It was my first time at Kings Highway. I liked the restaurant. It was interesting and unique place. The macramé giant elephant hanging on the wall was a show stopper. Food was good. Will have to come back again to try out other bites 👍🏼
I've driven by this place repeatedly without ever knowing it was a restaurant! Turns out, I've been missing a hidden gem, literally for decades. I had an early dinner at 4 pm and everything that my companion and I got was very good. Chicken wings appetizer, fish tacos, steak and fries, mac and cheese side, all excellent. Spoke with three different staff members and they were all super friendly, too. It's a little on the pricey side, but these days everything is, right? However, be sure to ask about what discounts are available to you, because they have several very generous ones.
What a cool spot! We decided to go here for breakfast. Sat outside with the dog. Service was great. She had the avocado toast and a espresso martini and i had the chilaquiles. I order this everywhere I go and this is in the top 5 ever. Taste, texture and appearance where all there. She loves her food and drink as well.
We were at this clean beautifully appointed restaurant about noon on a Sunday and were offered breakfast and lunch menu choices. Fresh well prepared food delivered in a reasonable amount of time by Sara, a lovely and personable server. Sara is friendly and engaged and efficient. The hostess also conveyed a hospitable vibe. We had the breakfast burrito served with tater tots and yogurt parfait, a lovely bowl of plain yogurt with berries, granola, tiny mint leaves and maple syrup. We enjoy sitting at the car and comfortably did so. We will definitely return!
We are big fans of the Ace, and King’s Highway never disappoints. The arugula salad is my lunch go-to because it’s fresh and light—it’s equally delicious with the addition of grilled chicken or steak. My kids also love the bacon and French fries. Both are cooked to crisp perfection. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful, and the stained glass creates such a cool ambiance. I highly recommend eating inside on a slow weekday. If you’re keen on enjoying the weather, the back patio is also a great dining option. It overlooks the hotel’s mid-century modern pool. I can’t imagine a better way to eat a meal with friends.
Visited here with friend for late dinner Thursday and I was immediately impressed with the decor. I loved the layout of the restaurant with the old fashioned yet modern minimalist look, it reminded me of a 50’s bowling alley restaurant only completely cleaned up, revamped and retrofitted with 2020’s vibes. The server was very friendly and did a terrific job although it was only us and another table at the time and I would have appreciated him refilling my soda without me having to ask even though that’s a minor complaint. I looked into the bar and the interior design was very cool looking and unlike anything I’ve seen before. I didn’t get the chance to stay in one of their rooms or use their pool but next visit to Palm Springs I will go out of my way to come here. The menu was very small maybe 12 items total? My friend had an orange wine which I’d never seen before. If you are a hamburger lover/connoisseur then definitely try their burger it was rich and delicious and flavorful maybe almost too rich but that’s not a compliment just a speculation. It was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Cooked to perfection if you like medium rare anyways which I do! This is a must go restaurant spot for anyone visiting or living in Palm Springs
I didn’t want to have to do this publically, but I was encouraged by enough people in town that this will have a stronger impact than speaking directly to management—which I would have preferred, though let’s be honest, then would anybody care? I live two miles away, I can walk here. In the last three years since moving to this town, Kings Highway has been our local diner. I came here with every family member who has visited me, I’ve held important business meetings here, and most personally, I came here after signing my marriage license, and many, many times on dates with my husband and lunches with my whole family. It was always Palm Springs pricey, but we endured $19 açaí bowls—cause they were delicious—and $5 coffees and the fantastic service we always receive made this diner a staple in my family. Two days ago, I came in for breakfast (I was recognized as a regular( how lovely, thank you!) and sat down to decide what I wanted. I know the menu and I was shocked when I saw the price update. My açaí bowl was now TWENTY EIGHT dollars. Coffee…NINE?! I understand math, economics, inflation, all of it. But at those prices, this may have been my last time coming, ever. This may sound cruel, but if I had Parker money, I’d eat breakfast at the Parker. Diners used to symbolize a place where workmen, families, groups of teens, grandpas and granddaughters, would all find themselves alongside people working on thier laptops and reading books with a cup of coffee. Kings Highway held onto one semblance of that for me until this price hike. I can’t believe how greedy the increase feels. Same food. Good food! But TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS for two eggs? This hotel “diner” clearly wants to be exclusive, as if exclusivity was something this town needed more of. I apologize if this message was frank, I always have a lovely time coming here. Do let me know if prices return to something reasonable, I’d love to come back. Otherwise, sorry, but fifty dollars for two people to have eggs is psycho, and not even with a single cup of coffee, let alone a mimosa, included.
Cool retro diner great for a traditional breakfast or lunch. The service is outstanding and you'll get exactly what you ordered, fast and with a smile. Also, weirdly good coffee. This place is a great start to your day.
What a Vibe!! Someone suggested us this place for brunch in Palm Springs. The interior is lovely with beautiful details. We had pets with our group so we couldn't sit indoors, however the patio too was perfect to spend a nice time having lunch with live music at the pool and total vacation vibes. We had a trio mezze platter, Fried cauliflower in appetizers. We loved both. Pasta in the main course was okay. It was the only vegetarian option available in main course. I hope they add more vegetarian options. Service was quick.
What used to be Denny's and a HoJo before has been King's Highway for a while now. I was impressed by my server, Elizabeth, who is a long time employee who shared the history of this place. Food presentation was great, but what I had was small for the price. The menu is limited which is sensible during off season and a bit pricey even for Palm Springs. The ambience is eclectic including their flooring which apparently the original and should be replaced. The lounge and access to the Ace Hotel pool is just steps away.
We came for Monday Bingo with Bella da Ball - and if I were rating the bingo alone, it’d be a solid 5 stars. Bella is welcoming, high-energy, and keeps the crowd engaged from start to finish. Definitely bring some cash to tip her if you can (though she does accept PayPal and Venmo). Also, don’t worry about arriving right at 7, people joined in throughout the evening. We also tried the Craft Beer Mystery Bucket, which is great value. Just a heads-up: it’s not strictly beer - you might find a vodka soda or two mixed in. As for the food, it was underwhelming. We had the Fried Chicken Sandwich and the Roast Chicken, and neither stood out. Bottom line: come for Bella and the entertainment. If you’re going mainly for the food and drinks, it’s probably not worth it.
Nice little diner at the Ace Hotel. Super friendly servers. Kids chocolate chip pancake was the highlight for me. The breakfast wrap was ok but the eggs were well done, bacon was a bit too hard on the teeth. The leafy green side salad was meh. Wife got the spicy nacho breakfast. Forgot the name of it but it was mostly one dimensional. Overall it was nice to try.
While the food was good, it was very expensive for what you ordered. We ordered a hamburger and a salad, which cost us over $80!!! Also, they charge an extra fee on top of the already expensive meal. And to top it off, they absolutely refuse cash!!! You can only pay with credit/debit cards using an app with your phone! Some of us are old school and use only cash, which is LEGAL tender! Never going back there. I give it a 2 star only because the food was good and the staff was okay. Otherwise, I wouldn't give it more than a single star.
I have been a customer here for years. Things have taken a turn for the worse. Beautiful location and friendly service but overpriced to a point that I find downright brazen (10$ cappucino, 5% unexplained surcharge on final check). That would be tolerable if the food itself was fantastic, but the plates that come out of the kitchen are mediocre, techically flawed and made without love. Greed is the enemy of hospitality and repeat business.
Nicely designed. The food is mediocre and overpriced, which is forgivable; the automatic 5% surcharge, on the other hand, is deceitful and only adds insult to injury. I really dislike when restaurants lie about their prices to try and scam every last penny out of the customer; it's a good sign that they can't stand by the quality of their food and I'd have walked out before wasting my time and money if I'd noticed that fine print. My server was great and made up for some of the disappointment, but even still I regretted eating at this restaurant from the time I first saw the menu and my regret only increased as I tasted the food and then saw the bill. Bummer that a restaurant this pretty is run like this.
Got the chicken sandwich. Looked like a fish sandwich. The batter tasted fishy also the batter on onion rings was soft and slightly fishy too. Fries not so good. My partners Ceasar salad was good and refreshing...tangy which we like. Cool vibes, decently priced. I'd go elsewhere. Fin.
