Opinions de Ristretto for Coffee Lovers Palm Springs
This is one of the most well-run coffee houses we've been too over and over again for the past 3 years! Their coffees and food are prepared and served in as most professional and friendly manner. Coffee is not bitter and pastries are baked fresh daily.
Every time I'm in town I come here. Their quiche is flavorful and fluffy, and the coffee is bold. They will make the coffee however you want it. The staff is super courteous and accommodating. The price is normal for the town.
Steven and the crew are fantastic here. Great coffee, simple lunches and desserts. You could imagine how buzzy this place was in pre Covid times. Now it’s still busy, but with the regulars lingering a bit longer outside, social distancing, getting their breakfast fix on, and catching up with friends.
Great place for espresso and snacks in Palm Springs.
Stopped by here with the family to have coffee and breakfast, the prices here were great for the area and everything was delicious! The bagels were fluffy, it was nice having the refillable coffee mug option, and the Coconut cold brew was refreshing! Cute little spot to hang out without too much commotion.
Great staff, great selection of pastries and savory breakfast food( bagels etc), and good coffee. Pricing was reasonable for PS and the staff friendly. Quick service. Went several times including during a holiday weekend and they kept up.
This place has changed hands twice since I first reviewed it. The current version is a bit less of a coffee place and a bit more of a sandwich and pastry shop. It still stands out as one of the quieter coffee shops in palm springs. The service can be spotty and I stopped going for several months because of this. I was there today, and it seems a bit improved. Maybe they've worked out the kinks. I'm keeping it on my rotation, but I'm less enthusiastic than used to be
Get. Coffee. Here. PS is not exactly known for its coffee experience. If you come from a city (or internationally) that remotely knows coffee, this is the place to get expertly crafted espresso. Sure, the food is yummy too, but the coffee here is what should get the attention. Thank you, Ristretto, for doing it right. If only I had discovered you sooner.
Their morning muffins are are amazing. Warm and fresh made on site every morning! We had the orange muffin and it was amazing. The coffee is pretty good too. A great place to have a great cup of coffee
Went in to grab some quick food and coffee before heading to Joshua Tree for some hiking. Coffee was delicious and also got the roasted turkey sandwich to save for lunch which saved very well in the cool temps in the winter. The staff was so nice and you can tell they care about their regulars too!
I recently stayed a week in Palm Springs and found Ristretto a few days in. It's on Palm Canyon Drive but out of the hustle and bustle of the busy downtown area. I loved it and wished I had found it sooner. Everyone who works there (that I was able to meet) is full of light and delightful to engage with. I loved the coffee, and if you get a drip in a for here mug you can sit outside and people watch or read with endless refills, for better or for worse. If you have the opportunity, Ristretto is an excellent way to start an early morning.
When staying in area on vacation we stumbled upon this spot and enjoyed it so much we returned daily! Beyond a solid cup of coffee, the baked goods (in particular the muffins) are incredible! Definitely treat yourself to a Healthy Morning muffin.
So far, Ristretto staff have been nice. When I met John, he was very inviting. The staff seem to emulate his kind of welcoming approach and welcoming experience. With respect to the quality of their iced mochas, they are really robust, bold, great smelling and really good. Great quality sold by a great little spot, and so far, great service by welcoming staff.
Best coffee in Palm Springs! Treat yourself to one of their fresh baked muffins or order breakfast. My fav muffin is the gluten free glorious morning! Lunch is available along with other items.
The staff is always very helpful and friendly. The coffee bold and tasty! The muffins are delicious. I only have one question. Why does an Italian coffee shop serve French roast? I love Italian roast. This is a coffee shop well worth the trip.
My phone is old and beat so the photos aren't the best but would highly recommend forsure, went in for my lunch break. Great staff and pricing on food, would recommend if needed a quick bite. Quick service. 10/10
Pastries are luscious -- I had the Pain aux Rasins the first morning. Breakfast burrito with bacon and eggs was just OK. Their coffee roast is very dark/bitter -- even more than Starbucks. So order 16-oz latte with a single shot -- they default to 3 shots!
Great pastry selection and good coffee. The blueberry muffin was not too sweet, was just about right. Fast service as well.
Visiting Ristretto for the first time today Joanna and Alicia were very busy on the Holiday week on a Monday and they helped me deliver my Grubhub order on time and were very polite and professional. I enjoyed the sample of Couk Suisse Chocolat. Yummy nom nom noms 😋
The coffee was tasty. The sandwiches and pastries were yummy and a good portion. The prices were reasonable. It was clean and chic. Totally recommend if in the area for a quick stop.
Just went here for the first time about 2 weeks ago and its one of my new favorite coffee shops in palm springs. The coffee is great, food is fresh, and sitting area is very comfortable. I love the bacon burrito with a black coffee ☕.
Excellent. Attention to detail, flawless espresso pulls. The staff is friendly. Trendy and modern. Outdoor seating. Highly recommend.

Such friendly and accommodating staff. Excellent pastries. House made! Best poppy seed muffin...crunchy outside, melt in the mouth inside. Just go there!
Super cute coffee shop, our first visit to Palm Springs brought us into this place for a pit-stop and turned into a nice brunch session with family. Good finger sandwiches, coffee/tea and cooling smoothies to break-fast from a day of traveling.
Ristretto’s has the sweetest lady making my coffee and pastries every time I stop by. Joanna is always so kind and welcoming, and she makes everything perfectly! You can truly feel the love and care she puts into her work. She makes my mornings so much brighter!
This local Downtown PalmSprings breakfast spot is delightful. Great bagel sandwiches paired with best coffee !

Coffee was fine but I think I prefer other local shops in the valley. The muffins looked amazing though!! They have a fair bit of indoor seating and a few tables outside in the parking lot.
I generally go to Cafe Europa for a farm to table breakfast, but really enjoy Ristretto. their coffee doesn't have the burned taste like the other local roasters and they are the only coffee shop that actually bakes on the premises and produces something edible. Pistachio and morning muffins first rate!
Great coffee and friendly service. I do prefer a darker coffee and it was a bit hit and miss. The two lattes ordered were not consistent: one is darker and sweeter (perfect for me) and the other one has more milk and less sweet. Other than that the coffee was good and the two baristas were so friendly and nice.
They make a great latte. Staff is always nice. Service feels a tad slow even when there doesn't appear to be a line. But drinks are never rushed. They do have a decent little selection of sweets and pasties and can vouch the chocolate chip cookies are on point. Be aware that it's not easy to spot from Indian Canyon Drive and there is limited parking.
Fun vibe from the clientele but office park coffee kiosk vibes. I had a pastry that straight tasted like freezer burn, looked pretty tho! Pretty sure they are all frozen but the coffee was ok. Bathroom and wifi and indoor outdoor seating is nice. It’s within a larger building.

We come here about once a month. The coffee drinks are good, the pastries good, the service excellent, the seating good. If you are in this end of town it’s worth a visit.

No reason to come here. Coffee is just ok. You will get a much better espresso at Ernest, Cartel, La Jefa, and even Koffi. Ristretto croissants look very wrong—pale and bready—so I didn’t get one. Their decor is generic and corporate.

The shop has comfy chairs and a beautiful display case for their pastries but my wife and I went here and waited 20 minutes for our coffee drinks (only one of which required milk steaming). I sat and watched multiple other customers have the same delay for simple orders. I sure hope it was simply because the baristas were new. I’m a certified coffee snob and the roast here is around the B- level. Does the job but for the price, not a great value.
Cute place, so much potential. Blueberry muffin was awful, greasy and undercooked. Cappuccino was average. But the service was poor. Better places in town to spend your money. Skip this one.
This place is easy/convenient for where our Air BnB was. Parking is easy and lots of seating. However, the price point is a little crazy. A very average bagel with cream cheese is over 6$. I understand inflation but it’s not really worth the money. We ended up spending a bunch of money here just based on convenience and being very hungover. Just get a table at an actual restaurant in town. You’ll get table service and more value.
I had never been to this place before because I don’t drink fancy coffees. I inquired if they had any vegan pastries because I was attending a board meeting in their building the following morning. Was told YES. I got there the next morning and asked about any vegan pastries. The guy said, “We have gluten-free options”. Not the same!! They didn’t have any vegan pastries so I just ordered an everything bagel toasted. I brought vegan cream cheese from home. I also ordered a black coffee. The coffee was HORRIBLE. Tasted like hot water. This is supposed to be one of the top notch coffee shops in the Palm Springs area. I then waited and waited and waited for my toasted bagel. I inquired about it twice and the kid had to go check on it. Now, you can see into the kitchen a little bit and I swear it looked like there were 3 or 4 people working on my bagel while talking with each other in an animated manner (looked like they were performing surgery the way they were huddled around my little bagel). I finally got it. Went to my Board meeting. Put some cream cheese on it, took a bite and thought, “This is the worst bagel I’ve ever had!” The texture and consistency were way off and the outside was more of a french bread consistency. While waiting for my bagel, I did notice that they had a vegan burrito. I had a hair appt. next door 2 weeks later. I was early so decided to try the vegan burrito (potatoes, tomatoes, spinach and avocado). This was 12:05 pm. Other than two women who were already seated enjoying coffees, it was just me and a woman who came in right after me. I ordered the vegan burrito. The kid had to run to the back to ask the two men just hanging around in the kitchen if they could make that for me. He then could not find the price on the register. He called over some woman and she also could not find the price then she says, “Just find something else on the menu that is similar and charge that”. I pointed to the wall menu and said, “The price is $12.95.” He looked baffled. The woman behind me – still waiting to order – is getting impatient. I paid, sat down and waited. I waved to the kid and said, “Hey, how much longer”. He scrambled to the kitchen and I see him talking with 3 other people! He says, “They are just wrapping it up”. I waited. The woman who was behind me was sitting out in her car, she comes in and was miffed because it was taking so long. She asked about her albacore tuna sandwich. I then said, “Yeah, me too. This is ridiculous. It’s been over 15 minutes”. He finally brought me my burrito. It was more of a panini but that was fine with me. The burrito came with two little containers – one of salsa and one of mayo. Why would you bring out mayo for a vegan burrito. I didn’t even bother asking if it was vegan. I quickly ate half and wrapped the other half and went to my appt. As I was walking out, I reread the menu and it shows, “all wraps come with cheese, spinach and tomatoes. They also come with choice of potato salad, macaroni salad or chips”. I did not taste cheese so was not worried about it since I ordered the VEGAN burrito but was not offered a side. I got not one, “Thanks, come again” or nothing. Everyone back on their phones and did not look up as I left. The kicker is that I ate the other half on the way home. I took a photo to post in my vegan group and noticed in the photo the cheese! I did not taste it at all but I did use a lot of the salsa. Why the hell would you put cheese on an item clearly marked vegan.
We ordered a ristretto shot of espresso and the end product was bitter, watery and undrinkable. Ended up going down the street to Cartel where they offer proper coffee service.

Coffee was sub par, the breakfast burrito tasted like it was microwaved with lack of flavor and very rubbery. We were hoping for a relaxing breakfast, but the food and coffee were not up to par. Vibes wrong, it looks nothing like the pictures.
The espresso here is terrible. The espresso machine brew head temp is too high resulting in bitter drinks and they over steam their milk to the taste of scalding. The pastries and food on the other hand were pretty tasty (spinach feta frittata was delicious). Starbucks, unfortunately has better espresso drinks than this place. Service staff were disorganized and confused-drinks come up and patrons have no idea which one is theirs when 2+ more of the same thing are ordered. Won't be coming back!
First time here. I ordered the classic breakfast burrito. Not good. No flavor. Only 3 tiny pieces of tomato. I'm highly disappointed. Coffe is ok. Burrito looks good in pictures but the complete opposite in person.
Terrible service, terrible $5 cup of hot coffee. Their food prices have gotten so high! I know for a fact that their salads are not worth $20. What a sad sad place this has become.
I was horrified when I took a bite of my everything bagel, egg, and cheese sandwich. As the accompanying photos show, the hard solid piece of egg had a strange, rubbery texture and was noticeably gray in the center. The coffee was equally bad, tasting like stale, watered-down gas station coffee that had been left on the burner too long. My thoughtful boyfriend woke up early and drove a long distance to purchase this, and regrettably, his sandwich was identical. He spent $40, and upon arriving home, we were forced to discard the entire order. We are extremely disappointed and will not be returning.
Bagels were stale and eggs were super over cooked. Had to toss and rebuy breakfast elsewhere.
We ordered two iced coffees and a tomato filled pastry. For the coffee bar - The associates had no idea which of the unmarked containers contained Splenda so I just had to guess. We sat down and waited 10 minutes for the pastry when I realized the associates totally forgot to make it (they just had to microwave it) and when I finally got to eat it, it tasted stale and was nearly completely hollow. I will not go back to this store again.

The most expensive, smallest and tasteless Mediterranean quiche I've ever had in my life. Completely pathetic and sad. Not sure why I even tipped 20% at ordering because everything is picked up by the customers. At least the Cuppucino was decent and hot. But that was the only good thing. I will never be back and don't recommend this rip off place.
I probably shouldn't have dropped in 10 minutes before close. The barista was emphatic that they closed soon, but made my iced cappuccino. I took 4 sips and threw it out, it was some of the worst espresso I've ever had. If you're here on vacation, avoid this place.
