This shake spot hit the spot. We were walking in the evening after dinner and wanted something cold and sweet. The inside is a vibe in its self. I love the atmosphere. It has a history of all the candy, cool lighting, posters of classic movies, a great selection of candy and more. We ordered two classic date shakes and they were delicious! They came with real dates and a small donut which was unique. The workers were quick and helpful.

I love coming here whenever I’m in town. It’s always fun seeing what seasonal flavors they have. But my favorite will always be the classic date shake w/ peanut butter. So good, actually tastes like dates. The staff is always welcoming, too.

This small gem in downtown Palm Springs offers an impressively wide menu of delicious milkshakes—it’s hard to choose just one! I’ve never had a shake I didn’t like, but I always find myself coming back to the French Blend. It brings back so many good memories. A visit here is always worth it—and it won’t break the bank!

We down for the Memorial Day holiday camping. After outdoor barbecuing, we decided to head down to downtown to enjoy a nice walk in a very brisk cool, and mildly humid night. We encountered this shake shop by chance. Walked in and immediately to a left was a chalkboard menu. The menu inclues fruit seltzers, flavored shakes, and floats for your delightful pleasure. You have a choice of 9 to 20 ounce drinks for your choosing. I ordered a the blueberry hill shake, while my daughter tried the strawberry banana shake. They were not so sweet or sugary, but just right. And for those who are lactose intolerant, they also offer lactose free shakes. I good place to go, after having dinner! Highly recommended!

Delicious date shakes. A perfect end to our last few hours in Palm Springs. We got a peanut butter date ans strawberry shake. Love the little donut decoration. (More like a pound cake) but delish.

Tried the date nut shake and wow absolutely amazing! Creamy, perfectly sweet, and full of that nostalgic desert flavor. It really hits the spot, especially in the Palm Springs heat. The mini doughnut on top was cute, but honestly a bit overkill it didn’t add much to the experience and wasn’t really necessary with how good the shake already was. Still, overall a great stop for a fun treat!

Was in this area and I guess shakes are all the rage here, so gotta give it a try! The staff was very friendly, we had a large group and she was very patient with us. I also really appreciate them offering non-dairy option for those of us who can't have it! The store itself is small, but they do offer quite a few chairs so people can leisurely enjoy their shake without worrying about spilling it while walking around. I got the seasonal/limited edition peppermint fudge shake (non dairy), and it was very yummy! I like the flavor, you can definitely taste the peppermint in it. Some extra flakes on top adds to the textural difference and enjoyment as well. I don't really understand the donut on the straw, but I guess it's fine? Overall a nice treat, I would suggest to order the small one unless you have a serious sweet tooth. Recommend!

Must go. Although parking nearby can sometimes be challenging, this local favorite is a must do if you're in downtown Palm Springs. The menu variety is outstanding, from five different varieties of shakes with dates in them, to over a dozen or two additional flavors, there was something for everyone from the extremely sweet to not sweet at all. We were there with a large group in each ordered a different variety and every single one of them were absolutely delicious I think this was the creamiest milkshake I've ever enjoyed, and it came adorned with two adorable small donuts that were also both delicious. The environment has lots of photographs and interesting trivia about candy throughout the years and is a feast for the eyes.

We’ve been testing all the dates shakes in valley. Shields was our number one choice. Tied for second is windmill Market and Great shakes. Close third is Monster shakes and Lapperts. The differential appears to be quality of ice cream that goes into shakes—ingredients that are not natural leave after taste. Great shakes wins for presentation. Cute donut and fig on top and the walnuts were nice addition.

(Also posted on their Yelp page) Coming back to visit Great Shakes is a throwback for me. I'm glad to see they are still here and same great shakes. There is a free parking lot in the back but also some free street spots. I got the small size date shack, but the pecan one tasted better. It's definitely shareable. They have spoons and napkins in the back. There is also a water dispenser. The shakes are great during a hot afternoon.

This was recommended as one of the top five date shakes in the area and unfortunately we were a bit disappointed. The dates were chopped up then mixed in, which gave it a lumpy texture. It didn’t have a strong date flavor. The service was great.

Had the date shake. Was pretty much vanilla shake with some small date chunks. Not a bad shake. Looked like a good selection of other shakes. Ok service.

Saw this place recommended all over the Internet and read the great reviews and we eat a lot of dates at home so we were excited to try a date shake. But I guess it's just not for us. It tasted mostly like vanilla with just a hint of date. The walnut date one was slightly better because the walnut added a little more taste and crunch. The donut was pure sugar and just made it overly sweet (coming from someone who loves good donuts). Idk, just entirely not for me, I'll stick to eating straight dates at home and not pay $9 for what tasted like a vanilla shake.

I got the date malt shake. It was disappointing since most of the flavor was vanilla. Comparing this with Shields Date shakes that turn the shake to brown because of the amount of dates in it, this is overprice milk. I would skip this place if want good date shake.
