I've always wanted to visit this oyster bar when visiting PS and this time I finally did. I specifically went to try their oysters and wasn't disappointed. They were fresh, meaty, and a perfect snack to have on their patio. They were well chucked with no shell fragments in the meat. Lemons were fresh. Oyster shooters looked delicious too. Service at the table was basic. Would love to come again for oysters and to try other menu items. For a person or two, the bar may be more comfortable.

This is a hidden gem in Palm Springs. Fresh seafood & splashy tropical drinks. Food- halibut ceviche: firm, fresh & perfectly cooked in lime and citrus. New Orleans oysters: hint of mustard, cream & melted mozzarella cheese. Halibut steak: portions are outrageously huge. Plenty of prefectly steamed broccoli and a large size of Alfredo sauce angel hair. Staff-all well trained, efficient, happy & polite. The man in charge of this melange is the charming Ruben Lopez, co-owner with his brother Ozzy and chef de cuisine. Overly fair pricing for quality and quantity for seafood. Spectacular evening.

We had dinner just an hour before closing, but we were greeted warmly and seated quickly, which made a great first impression. We ordered the crab enchiladas and Ozzy’s Special—huge shrimp in a sweet and spicy sauce—and both dishes were absolutely delicious. I don’t usually return to the same restaurant, but this is definitely a place I’d come back to!

My wife and I had dinner at Ruben’s Oyster Bar last night and were thoroughly impressed. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome with their warm, attentive service. We ordered the swordfish and, on a tip, asked for the halibut—a secret menu item that isn’t listed but is absolutely worth asking for. Perfectly cooked and finished with lemon, the halibut was the standout of the night—light, flaky, and packed with flavor. The atmosphere was relaxed yet elevated, and the plating was clean and professional—definitely a place that takes pride in presentation. The only miss of the evening was the cheesecake. It didn’t seem to be homemade and lacked the same quality and care as the rest of the meal. It felt store-bought and didn’t live up to the otherwise outstanding experience. That said, if you’re in the area, Ruben’s is 100% worth the visit. Skip dessert and focus on the seafood—especially that off-menu halibut.

We really like this little restaurant in downtown Palm Springs. They have a great menu, indoor and outdoor seating, fair prices, and fairly good service. It is always a busy place, and that speaks to the quality of the food. Our meal was excellent! I can highly recommend the calamari and the crab enchiladas. Both were amazing! It is best to have a reservation here for dinner, but we have walked up several times and were able to get a table after a short wait. You can also sit at the bar if you don’t have reservations and seats are available. I would hesitate to recommend this restaurant if you are vegetarian or vegan, as menu options are limited. We will definitely keep returning here and will recommend it to our friends.

What an absolute gem of a restaurant. I was greeted and sat at the bar by the owner Ruben. Loved seeing the cooks in action cooking right at the bar. They killed it! Everything came out amazing. I had the new orleans oysters and the Ruben special for dinner. Most delicious food I've had, and the atmosphere and staff are top notch

Fresh seafood, great service, location! Seafood Alfredo was delicious and not too heavy/creamy like some sauces. Huge portion with lots of seafood and it was so good I ate it all. Was seated quickly even during holiday week and busy dinner time. Best restaurant during my visit. Highly recommend!

Unreal place for Mexican seafood, or just seafood in general. We came here for lunch because Joshua Tree was too hot. We ordered everything to share and it was so good. We ordered the fried oyster taco, New Orleans oysters, and the Campechana (which might be the star of the show). They were quick with their service and everyone was very nice. We were seated right away as well. A great place to take a break from exploring.

I am gluten free so I got the shrimp scampi which is shrimp on a bed of rice. It had butter and garlic in it which I love! There were some vegetables too, I think onions and green pepper. Very filling. I had to save half for the next day. My boyfriend got the linguini with seafood, I think it was shrimp and scallops, he said it was delicious!

Awesome little seafood shop! Friendly, casual, great location. Sat a the bar, but the patio was tempting too. Ozzy was in the kitchen, he and he staff are really friendly, engaged. Oyster taco was delish, perfectly fried oyster. Portions for the mains are so big, there is no way we could eat one each, so we shared some seafood pasta and Cioppino among the 4 of us and it was more than enough. Good value for sure. And good fun!

Stopped by for a late lunch. It’s situated on a much calmer/quieter side road than the main strip downtown which was nice. Overall the food was good, and the service was great - the seafood sampler was large and tasty, however the chicken sandwich lacked flavour - not bad though, and still juicy, just needed more seasoning

We had a very nice meal. Service by Rosa was great. Serving sizes were enormous! We had the crab enchiladas and ruebans seafood pasta. Recommend

Nice little seafood eatery. Food was fine but not as good as I was expecting. Based on other reviews my expectations were high. Unfortunately they did not stand up to the hype. The grilled salmon was good but could have been seasoned more. The Oyster Rockefeller and the calamari fritti were good but too greasy. The coconut prawns were so sweet that we could not finish them. The stuffed mushrooms and the fried ice cream were tasty. Overall a good dining experience - just don’t expect to be blown away.

For a play that has “oyster bar” in the name, you’d think they know how to shuck an oyster. They came with shards of shell all over the oyster, were dry, and gritty. The broken shell pieces were so large that my partner cracked his tooth! I wouldn’t dare touch them after picking out so many pieces the size of watermelon seeds. Some were large, but there was tons of small one. Service was good, waitress was quick and attentive. Drinks are ok at best.

Went for an afternoon snack of oysters. Left disappointed. For a place that calls itself an oyster bar....they didn't really seem to be one. They only had one variety available. A Baja Kumiai i think it was. The oysters arrived very dry. No oysters liquor at all. Just very dry,old feeling. Not a drop of juice in the shell. Also this place failed to shuck the oyster from the lower abducter muscle. So you had scrape it off with fork or spoon on the table. To top it off...one of the half dozen was yellow colored and foul smelling. How did that get past them? Maybe was a one off bad day. But they sure do not seem to know how to do raw oysters.
