Thank you, Norma, and all Blue Coyote staff for a great and memorable Valentine's lunch. Friends in Northern California had told us how great this restaurant is, and it lived up to and exceeded the billing. Already looking forward to the next visit.
Always drove by and today decided to stop in. They have a couple of big outdoor patios and fountain. We brought out dog so it was perfect sitting outside. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The jalapeno poppers were amazing. The ribs were a generous portion with smokey taste and the chipotle mashed potatoes were heavenly. The chicken burrito did not disappoint with the green chili salsa. Nice size especially with the black beans and rice. Ordered a side of the spicy red salsa that had a wonderful kick of heat. Also love that chips were warm and served with a delicious salsa. The salsa is mild but lots of flavor. Our friendly waitress, Alma, was very helpful with recommendations and the hostess was friendly and thoughtful bringing our pup some water. Excellent service, good, outdoor ambiance.
Came for lunch after a walk thru Palm Canyon. Service was great, margaritas were delicious and food was definitely delicious! Worth the trip
✨LOVE this spot! Family-owned, the only one like it ✨Incredible salsa, super fresh with a kick! ✨Authentic Mexican food, big portions ✨Great vibes… ✨Service was 10/10, absolutely loved the staff ✨Pups welcome on the patio and plenty of parking out back ✨Sprint here for a reasonable bill and a very lovely experience! 💙💙💙
We enjoyed Mahi tacos, fajita burrito, Coyote Bowl, corn bread sides, great salsa and delicious taco chips! Large portions on everything we ordered. Refills on taco chips. Excellent friendly staff! Would definitely recommend this place!
Great, friendly service. Great food and much of it. Really enjoyed my birthday lunch with leftovers for dinner.
It’s the right blend of atmosphere, food, location and service. This is a large and established restaurant that knows how to operate. Good food and attentive service.
Great food and drinks. Quite “courtyard” style patio secluded from the busy traffic and sidewalk up front.
We love the Blue Coyote! Delicious food & margaritas! Service is great. We always try to sit on the beautiful patio even in hot weather when the misters are all going.
We had a larger group and the service was good. The food flavors were amazing. The margaritas were on point. The atmosphere was clean and comfortable.
The steak is to die for! So yummy! First timer and was greeted with great friendly service! Strongly recommend!!!!
Superb!! Was it the location, drinks, food, service that made this place Great? All the above! I had a tequila Old fashioned cuz I've never had one it was really good! Wife's blue tequila thingy was great, not too sweet and had a great flavor! She doesn't like spicy food, so they made the fresh guacamole 🥑 without jalapenos for her and it was fabulous, her bowl was delicious and the ancho sauce was super! My mahi was very tasty and the veggies were incredible! We sat outside to enjoy the great weather and atmosphere..a total Palm Springs experience.
What can I say, excellent. Food, atmosphere and service was outstanding. Thanks to the staff for such a great experience!
Very friendly staff and tasty food! Though it was very hot outside, the patio with the mist was very comfortable.
Everything about this gem is just as good (if not better) as it was the first time we discovered it way back in ‘95. Best margaritas hands down in the desert (thank you Ilda!), and we’ve never in all these years that wasn’t thoughtfully presented and absolutely delicious. There’s a warmth to the service here you don’t find at every restaurant in Palm Springs. Norma took the best care of us with her welcoming hospitality, kindness, and attentive service. We were so impressed, we felt compelled to compliment the manager and was introduced to the owner, Shaynee (sp). One chat with her and it’s instantly clear the welcoming warmth starts at the top. Thank you for so many years of wonderful food and memories! (Another special thank you to Joanna - her smile lit up the dining room!)
Beautiful patio dining and great, fresh flavors. Immediate seating, attentive service, delicious food. This restaurant has clean restrooms and comfortable seating, both inside and out.
Went during dinner service and they were quite busy. We were quickly seated and received drinks and chips and salsa right away. The salsa was super fresh and some of the best I’ve ever had. Menu was quite expansive but easy to navigate. We were all very satisfied with our meals and the service provided. Highly recommend.
Blue Coyote Grill Palm Springs, California It's been more than ten years since we dined here and I would have to say that this is still a fantastic restaurant. The food, the service, and the ambiance is still great. We especially loved how the staff were always smiling, polite, helpful, and very enthusiastic. At times you can hear them singing with the music. The food was delicious and the portions were great. Remembering back, I don't believe we ever had a bad meal or service at the restaurant. We are looking forward to dining with them again when we return to Palm Springs. What we ordered 1. Oaxaca Tostada New! Red and blue corn tortillas stacked & layered with rice, beans, chicken & cheese. Topped with tomatillo sauce, guacamole, cabbage and sour cream. 2. Beef Brisket Smoked & sliced beef brisket topped with our famous chipotle BBQ sauce and a corn cake. Includes choice of fries, coleslaw, chipotle mash, or roasted corn. 3.Mayan Pyramid Chocolate ganache, hazelnut mousseline in a marbled chocolate pyramid shell. Served with whipped crème. 4. Churros with Ice cream 5. Queso Fundido Oaxaca cheese and Jack Cheese sauteed with our famous tomatillo sauce. 6. Complimentary Chips and Salsa
We sat outside with our dog and had great food and service. The portions are generous and we both left with leftovers. My husband had the fish tacos and I had the steak fajitas. They offered to refill the chips and salsa multiple times and I don’t think there was an extra charge for either. We will be going back.
Lots of seating great atmosphere and delicious food. We came with a large party and there was more than enough seating, the majority of tables are outside, and there’s heat lamps so it makes for a good atmosphere. The food was authentic and not too greasy. It was very flavorful. I had the Coyote bowl and the portions were large the chicken was fresh. Great spot
Blue Coyote Grill is a great place to have some authentic Mexican food. The service was really friendly and attentive. The restaurant is cozy and has a trendy vibes with a nice bar that serves great cocktails. Most of the restaurant seating is outside, which is a really nice atmosphere and ambience. Keep in mind it's Palm Springs so it can get extremely hot. I recommend having lunch inside the restaurant and dinner outside once the sun starts to set. They also offer live music on Friday and Saturday evenings. The food was absolutely delicious! We had the Holy Mole and the Molcajete (Mortar). The food had such amazing authentic flavors. Presentation was great! Portions were just right. We highly recommend Blue Coyote Grill if you're in Palm Springs.
Really enjoyed this place. Had Fajitas and Cadillac Margarita's. Loved guacamole, too. Patio and service were amazing.
Great place for classic Mexican food. We really appreciate that they had tons and tons of seating both indoors and Outdoors. Even though they were very busy, the wait staff were patient with our large group. The chicken fajitas were a generous portion of both chicken and sauteed vegetables. The taco platter was excellent, and the chips and salsa were fresh and mildly spicy. We will definitely eat here again.
Came here again and it reminded me why it’s one of my favorite spots on Palm Canyon. The food was great, the vibe was fun, and we had a really good time. Last summer they even had a photographer walking around taking pictures of guests, which was a super fun touch - kind of missed that this time, but everything else was still great.
Festive atmosphere and delicious food from a wide menu. My Swai was delicious and enchiladas were loved by the other 3 in our party! Sangria was perfect too!
Service was god speed. Our server, Christian, was great. Shrimp burrito had an unbelievable amount of shrimp 🤤 . Nachos were to kill for. Overall, amazing
Dinner at the Blue Coyote was incredibly delicious, with generous portions, fresh ingredients, many GFDF options, and a beautiful outdoor heated patio. Definitely me favorite meal of our week long trip to Palm Springs
Had lunch there, and everything was great. Never had a potato taco before, but after this one I’ll be having more. The mahi mahi taco was wonderful, with a huge piece of grilled fish. The pork quesadilla was also great. The Cadillac margarita was one of the best I’ve had, and I’ve had a few in my time. We are locals who hadn’t been to Blue Coyote in years, but will definitely be back. Thanks to Ignacio who was a great server.
Food was excellent. Staff are attentive, knowledgeable, and kind. I had a burrito mojado and was not disappointed. I was beyond capacity. I cleaned my plate literally. I could tell the chef that prepared our food put love into it. Yes I can taste the love in cooking. The meat was tender. The sauce was not canned and made from scratch. The rice and beans on the side were like my friends Ma would serve me when I would visit em. I left nothing on the plate it was so right.
Food and services blew me away! The portions were huge, full of flavor and excellent!!! Service was quick and top notch- our server Alma was attentive, knowledgeable and super friendly. What a perfect dining experience we had with n the gorgeous patio— I can not wait to recommend Blue Coyote to all my guests at work and to all my friends.
Sever was running around trying to be quick and that was good enough for us. We didnt wait forever for food. Drinks too a little longer it seemed like but overall well worth it. Dont skip out on ordering. Do it as soon as you can.
We had a great time here at the Blue Coyote. I had the Sangria and the Pollo Cilantro...excellent. My partner had a CDMX beer by Coaxhella Valley and the Molcajete... also Excellent! The servings are generous, we have leftovers for dinner tomorrow 😋. Recommend!
My friend and I had a great experience here! We were on vacation and wanted to try a new spot. Christian, our server, was super friendly and helpful, and the service was quick. Great atmosphere and food, I highly recommend it.
The drink menu is great, the food is amazing, and the service was fantastic. My favorite drink was the Mexican Mule it had a hit of spice and fresh jalapenos. The beef chimichanga was well prepared the beef was tender and had a fantastic sauce. Highly recommend.
It was our first time in Palm Springs and my wife and I had a couple of hours to kill before we could check in to our AirBnB. Saw good reviews from Perplexity and gave it a shot. Christian our server was great! Solid recommendations and the perfect amount of attention. The food was great and the margs even better! Patio is also top notch, coming from -10 degrees in the Twin Cities any outdoor space was going to be welcome, but Blue Coyote has a real chill and relaxing vibe.
It has been sometime since we last visited Blue Coyote and we are glad that we came back. We had a lovely time having lunch with friends there. It's located on the main street of Palm Springs on the north side of downtown. There is no mountain view; however, the patios are comfortable and inviting. The front one is ideal for people-watching along Palm Canyon. We loved their enchiladas especial; our friends say the fish tacos here are one of their favorites. As for service, our service was both attentive and patient. She was there when we needed her but otherwise let us linger over iced tea and good conversation. We will be back sooner than later!
Great service and food! Went during happy hour. Bar food 25% off $12 snacks. Had the tacos and cucumber ahi tuna. Also had a margarita which was also 25% off at the bar. The 3 tacos are minis with tortilla meat onions and sauce on the side. The ahi tuna was shelled out cucumbers with ahi tuna very good I'd get that again.
Pretty darn good food here. Had the chili verde plate with black beans and flour tortillas. The cumbia music and ambiance were great 👍🏼. Took a star off customer service as I stood at the front check in for 8-9 minutes while employees passed and didn’t assist. Again at the end of the meal, the waitress disappeared for ten minutes and couldn’t be found to pay.
Great spot with delicious flavours and generous portions. Tried the queso, coconut shrimp, tortilla soup, shrimp and fish tacos. The queso is the real cheese kind so it’s hard to use as an actual dip, but still was enjoyable and obviously a lot more natural. Shrimp taco was amazing and so was the fish. They were served in a flour tortilla (when a corn was requested) and instead of remaking them we were given a few corn tortillas instead. The coconut shrimp is a delight - only 4 shrimp but they are very large and fresh. Tortilla soup wasn’t my favourite and they forgot to put the tortilla strips on it so it was basically a chicken and veggie soup with some guacamole. It had that hearty homemade taste just not flavourful like some I’ve had. Served was kind and attentive. This is our second time back here. I do recommend reserving in advance otherwise you’ll likely be waiting in line!
Price is not bad for the area. Food was excellent. Service couldn't have been better. 👍
I really liked the atmosphere of the back garden area. Big menu with lots of options and friendly staff ensuring our chips and salsa never ran empty. Huge portions and overall pretty good! I recommend the mole enchiladas.
Good Mexican restaurant along the PS strip. Outside seating has much better atmosphere than inside. We had margaritas, which were great. I had ceviche and the chicken tortilla soup. Both good. All other dishes we had were also solid. Fast, friendly service. Very kid friendly.
Good looking from the street and more impressive once you step inside. The server was good, hostesses couldn’t care less and the runner was awesome. Food was very good, fresh and tasty! No real complaints…
Highly recommended. We were disappointed. Ordered a grilled seafood salad and fajitas. The seafood on the salad was beautiful, but all of the seafood was cold! Fajitas were average. Our server was sullen, sad and less than personable. We routinely tip in the 25% plus range, but the service was so disagreeable that we left a very small tip. We feel a bit bad about that, as we know the tips are for the entire crew. It was probably a bad night for our server, but on a special dinner for us, it was really a letdown!
Such a cute place! The food was pretty average for mexican food. The margaritas, however! They were amazing. We'll definitely give it another try.
First off, the food was pretty darn good. The portions are huge, and the appetizers are overall delicious, even if the guac needed a bit more salt. The people I was with also seemed to love the drinks. Unfortunately our group had an issue with some bad service. A waiter started yelling to get the attention of the group, which was a bit rude and off-putting. Every other waiter was very kind and attentive. We were seated in a small private dining room with a patio outside, and while we were packing up, I spotted three cockroaches going in and out of the room. While I understand that pests may be inevitable with an open air restaurant, seeing multiple roaches in a restaurant was shocking to say the least.
Staff were friendly, the atmosphere and the food were very good but.....We each ordered an $18 margarita without ice (asked for our water without ice also....) and when'd finished our meal and got the bill we saw that we were charged and extra $5 for each margarita because there was no ice! I don't think we got extra margarita in our glass to make up for no ice, the glass was half full so why $5 upcharge for not adding the ice. The waiter never mentioned there would be an up charge, it would have been nice to have the option to remove our own ice instead of paying them to do it. Never had this happen before, anywhere....very disappointed.
Probably the most mediocre meal we’ve had in Palm Springs. That doesn’t mean it’s terrible, just that every other restaurant is SO good. The tacos and enchiladas were fine. The drinks - meh. We tried both the normal salsa and their spicy salsa. Incredibly mediocre. Neither had any depth of flavor at all. It makes me sad.
The good: 1. Amazing atmosphere. Perfect for hanging out with friends. The decor was great 2. The Trio de brochetas was a good meal. 3. The coffee was actually a highlight of my time there. Smooth and strong. The bad: 1. The server was a little pushy as if we were rushed to order. 2. The fajita was terrible! No flavor whatsoever. Not even when I added three packets of salt to it. For something to be so highly priced I was very underwhelmed. I probably should have sent it back. 3. The pricing for everything is ridiculous. I guess you pay for the decor of the place because the food and service was worse than a taco stand.
I’m shocked that this establishment has 4.5 stars. We ate here last week and I’m still thinking about how bad our meal was. We ordered queso fundido, it came out as a stiff lukewarm block of cheese. We could not eat it. The server noticed this and did not offer to remove it off the bill. We ordered the pollo naranja dish and it was truly poor quality. It reminded me of cafeteria food from my undergrad university. We ordered a margarita and it had the worst presentation I’ve ever seen at a Mexican restaurant. Was this place just having an off day? We started out at Tac/quila for drinks and decided the leave there after margs and eat here instead because the menu looked great. We Really regretted that decision, and were so disappointed by this restaurant.
