Need to cheer up? Eat at Sherman’s. The pastrami on rye today was sooooo good it was well worth the long drive. The barley-mushroom soup, matza-ball soup and gefilte fish are authentic and delicious. The roast herbal chicken is excellent and comes with choice of 3 potato dishes, soup and vegetables or fruit. Between 4 and 6 pm it’s an early bird special. The pastrami was heavenly; the meat is shipped from NY. The 9 oz charbroiled hand-trimmed NY steak is very satisfying and excellent value, like everything in this restaurant. The restaurant is busy because the food and people who work here create a wonderful congenial atmosphere. The generous serving of baked salmon with mashed potato, bagel and cream cheese and vegetable salad was delicious.

This is an amazing deli. Some of the best corned beef and pastrami we've ever had and my wife is from New York City so she knows, Great menu. Lots of lots of bakery, desserts, cakes, pies. My wife loved the whoopie pie Next time we visit Palm Springs we will definitely come back. We ate here here three times in a little less than 2 weeks

First time here! We will definitely be back. The Reuben was one of the best I’ve had, Mike‘s tuna melt was also super good. We enjoyed that they gave you pickles to munch on while waiting for your lunch. All the cakes looked amazing. We will definitely be back. We will have to try out breakfast and dinner. Highly recommend.

Sherman's provides an outstanding selection on their menu and the food is super delicious and very kosher.For the most part. The staff is extremely attentive and greeted us when we walked in and sat us down almost.Immediately. There was convenient street parking for this location.And once you walk into the restaurant, you come face to face with a multitude of amazing deserts. Definitely a place that I would go back to and enjoy their pastramis and their soups.Oh and desserts.

Phenomenal! I went 2 days in a row. Breakfast once, then lunch. I almost went 3 times, but wanted to try other spots. Roast beef, corned beef, pickles, latkes, pretty much everything! This place is next level. The photos around Sherman's are so cool. It's preserved for the "Palm Springs" era, but still modern and nicely kept. Mitch the waiter is a boss! Very cool guy! It's worth going just to see Mitch! The only downside is the coffee is miserable. The Bloody Mary is ok, but not much flavor. Also they have gluten free bread. Top of the line! I love this place. Way to go Sherman's!

I was greeted as I first walked in by the hostess and seated immediately. They brought my drink really quickly, along with a sampler of pickles and sour kraut. I ordered their brisket BBQ sandwich along with a marrionberry cheesecake. So good! Definitely recommended!

They accommodate gluten free diners and the menu is clearly labeled and the staff is knowledgeable. All of their sandwiches can be made gluten free for $1 extra. I had the reuben and it was better than Katz Deli. The food, service, and atmosphere are all very authentic. They have a gluten free chocolate cake available as well.

Historic Palm Springs Restaurant . Since 1958 Great Customer Service and Incredible tasty selection s . The Fried Chicken Special is Amazing ! Half a Chicken with soup or salad and mashed potatoes with gravy . Soo Very Good. The Sandwiches are also Amazing ! Love this restaurant . High Quality Ingredients make for some very satisfying meals .

Sherman’s is a true Palm Springs gem. I came for the famous pastrami sandwich and wow—absolutely incredible. Juicy, smoky, stacked sky-high, and perfectly balanced with fresh toppings. Easily one of the best deli sandwiches I’ve ever had. The vibe is classic old-school deli, full of character and warmth. The service was friendly and efficient—even with a packed house, the staff were attentive and kind. And don’t even get me started on the dessert display… a full-on paradise for sweet tooths. From chocolate eclairs to fruit tarts to giant layered cakes, everything looked like it came from a vintage New York bakery window. I had to stop myself from buying a dozen pastries to go. Whether you're here for lunch or just dropping by for a slice of cake and coffee, this place hits all the right notes. A must-visit in Palm Springs!

In Palm Springs looking for good grub, look no further. Sherman's is one of my favorite spots. It's an old school New York style deli that opened in 1963. Everything is delicious, whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner. There is a bakery on the premises serving more deliciousness. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. This location gets busy on the weekends, but the service is always friendly. It's definitely worth the wait and definitely worth a visit. Try the pastrami sandwich, one of my favorites. I'll see you there, bon appetite!

Holy moly! How is the meat in this sandwich so tender and juicy?!?! I usually don’t like pastrami sandwiches but maybe it’s because everyone else is doing it wrong. The hot pastrami sandwich was AMAZING!! I just couldn’t get over how good it was. And such huge portions!!! We also got the corned beef hash…it was also good; the potatoes were okay. The side potato salad that came with the sandwich was creamy and flavorful! We tried a latke, and even that was yummy!!! It was seasoned well and had that slight tang flavor that made it delicious! They have a pretty extensive menu that also includes desserts. We were too full, but will be definitely coming back on our next trip to try other things!

Enjoyed the hot pastrami on rye with fries and one matzo ball. Delicious and quality ingredients, large portions. Service was excellent, our server's name was Shorty-vrey sweet. Other staff there were not rude but not welcoming... Just so-so. But they were very busy and it is a local spot so hey if all the locals go there it is certainly good enough for a visitor like myself. I would definitely come here again. Although busy the wait was only 15 mins and food service is fast.

A good deli, not a great one. Missing some of the core deli foods. I had Chicken in the Pot and while it had great flavor, it was smaller than what you get elsewhere, had fewer noodles, no kreplach and it wasn't piping hot when brought to the table. A bit stingy with the pickles. Atmosphere is ok, nothing special. Typical high deli pricing. $45 for 1 shared Chicken in the Pot, 2 rolls, 2 pickles, 2 soft drinks, tax, tip. Brightly lit, great north facing patio. Our server was outstanding.

Always a busy spot but service moves pretty fast. A staple diner in Downtown Palm Springs that serves sandwiches and specializes in cakes. This place has that classic diner vibe with service to match — friendly and quick. I ended up getting the French Dip and it was exactly what I needed. Warm broth to dip in and filled with meat! Overall, great local spot and popular for a reason.

My wife and I made Sherman's Deli and Bakery our first stop in Palm Springs after seeing it recommended everywhere and it absolutely lived up to the hype. When you walk in you are greeted with a huge display of bakery treats, pies, cakes and pastries that all look incredible. My wife grabbed a slice of banana cream pie and a slice of custard pie and loved both so much she finished them before I could even get a picture. She said the flavor was phenomenal and I trust her review completely. For lunch I ordered the hot pastrami New York style sandwich and it was a showstopper. The sandwich was piled so high with pastrami I could barely fit a bite but the flavor was spot on, juicy and rich without being overwhelming. The pickle on the side gave the perfect crunch and the fries were crispy and well seasoned. I used their Beaver’s deli mustard on both the fries and the sandwich and it tied everything together perfectly. The only tweak I would make is to have the bread toasted for a little extra crunch but even without that it was an easy eight or nine out of ten. My wife ordered the Sherman's traditional Cobb salad with chicken and enjoyed it as well. It was a big portion with fresh ingredients and plenty of flavor, nothing over the top but a solid and satisfying salad. Service was excellent. Our waitress was genuinely kind and attentive which made the whole experience even better. Sherman's is a great spot for lunch or a hearty brunch and an ideal way to start a day in Palm Springs.

Went on a Saturday morning it was busy and bussing but we were able to get a seat outside on the patio! It was enjoyable and service was great. Food was alright. Nothing exciting just your standard breakfast. I did enjoy the bagel option for your side of bread. I didn’t get any photos of our food but you’re not missing much. What it says is what it is. Mimosas were delicious! They do offer a fresh squeeze orange juice. There are many pies and desserts in the display case. And you are welcome to get them to go.

Very disappointing: starting with coffee $4.75 per small cup- no transparency on refills costing another $4.75. Mediocre coffee. Returned “fresh squeezed orange juice” was nowhere near fresh. Eggs watery, with orange on top (why?). Pastrami ok, but for $22 tiny portions. Overall not a good recommendable choice, better alternatives in Palm Springs.

12/05/25: Seriously, if you’ve got a hankering for Katz’s Deli in NYC, skip this place. It’ll make you sigh deeply. I had pastrami with a side of potato salad. My date had pastrami on rye also with potato salad. I spent my entire lunch separating lean from fat on the mediocre pastrami. (Unfortunately for my partner, his fatty pastrami was encased in rye.) We both concluded the potato salad was devoid of flavor & missing some key ingredients, the pastrami way too fatty and bland, and we greatly missed the generous amount of caraway seeds and the solid texture of NYC rye. Before we left this disappointing lunch, I purchased 4 cookies from their bakery; these were two staples from NY bakeries (chocolate swirls & Yiddish Hamantaschen). Once again, seriously disappointed at how flavorless both were. The total damage came to $75. We wanted to love you, Sherman, but you fall far short of just about any old deli in NYC. 😢
