Opinions de Las Casuelas Palm Springs
If you are looking for a spot in Palm Springs that perfectly blends a lively atmosphere with authentic, high-quality Mexican cuisine, Las Casuelas Terraza is it. The highlight of the meal was easily the enchiladas. The tortillas were fresh, but the real star was the mole sauce—rich, complex, and perfectly balanced with that signature hint of sweetness and spice. It’s clearly made with traditional techniques and elevates the dish to another level. Beyond the food, the drinks were fantastic. Whether you’re looking for a classic margarita or something a bit more adventurous, they are well-crafted, potent, and the perfect companion to a warm desert evening on their beautiful patio. Between the great service, the live music, and that incredible mole, this has become a must-visit every time I'm in town. Highly recommended!
Probably the best mole sauce I have ever had! Everything was delicious. Wait staff was attentive. The live music was so fun!
We had a great dinner here! Was able to make a reservation ahead of time for 7 people. Food was delicious and the guys were friendly. The outdoor seating and heaters were a huge plus!
I always love this place! Great drinks, this is the first time I’ve had dinner here the mole was SO good! And Francisco was so friendly, professional and a perfect waitperson.
Las Casuelas Terrazza is a true Palm Springs classic. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and it still delivers the same wonderful experience I’ve loved for years. The food is consistently delicious, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the energy is so fun! One of my favorite parts is the fun, lively band in the outdoor bar area - they bring so much life to the space and make every visit feel like a celebration. It’s one of those timeless spots that keeps you coming back. Always fun, always flavorful, always memorable. Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, traditional, abundant. Our main criterion choosing Mexican food is the salsa. It was perfect! Price is a bit high but that is unfortunately true in many places. We ate outdoors and the courtyard was lovely. A little road noise but not overwhelming. If I lived in the area this would make my list of regulars.
Amazing, food is so good. Nachos the best I have ever had, highly recommend. Sitting next to the warm fireplace, so comfortable and relaxing. Large portions, can take some home to enjoy. The ambience of high ceilings and artwork very entertaining to look at. Thank You Team Las Casuelas Terraza :)
This is a great spot in downtown Palm Springs. The decor'/ setting adds to atmosphere. Customer service was excellent, our waiter William was attentive and had a fun personality. The rest of the wait staff were really nice as well... thanks to Julian too. Food was Delish! Live band was an added plus. I would highly recommend.
Came across Las Casuelas while walking around on a Thursday evening at the Village Fest with friends. Ordered a spicy skinny margarita and a two item combination plate (chile relleno and chicken enchilada). Everything was fabulous including the rice and beans that come with the meal! Service was great and would highly recommend!
Update 10/23 The service is just phenomenal here. No joke. There are very few restaurants that have this level of service. Seriously... Late 2022 It's one of my favorite restaurants. I have been coming for many years now. At least 15 years. It is definitely your typical Mexican, American restaurant, and the flavors are good. The scenery is great. Eating outside in the shade is wonderful. The whole experience is worth checking out.
Good food but it’s very heavy so just be ready for it. Great service and love that they have live music some nights. My tacos were very tasty and flavorful and best part about it they made them with white meat only. We love going here it’s a Palm Springs staple. The drinks are strong and good as well.

Arrived upon opening an 11:00 a.m. The staff was extremely helpful and sad as where we were interested in seating. Table service was prompt and attentive. While our server did go on break, the lead on duty came over in aformed vest that they were on break and she would be able to assist us. Food was served hot and fresh. While the chicken was lacking in spices, it was bland. The suprema and the other dishes, including the salsa and chips were all fresh to the liking. We traveled from Vegas to arrive on opening on Valentine's Day for a quick lunch. Traveling to Palm springs to this restaurant is well worth it and a good getaway. I would recommend this restaurant as they do have outdoor seating along with a bar and live entertainment which we opted out to this time.
Food is delicious here. Wait staff is usually good. Music most nights with small dance floor. If you like mexican food this is the best in Palm Springs. Definitely recommend a reservation.
It's always a nice place to go to, whether for a Margherita with chips and salsa or for a full meal. This time my friend and I had just the first drink option. And it was very good with a very friendly waitress. A bit of a disadvantage is that the restaurant is right on the main drag in Palm Springs which can make the place a bit of a tourist trap.
We were a very large group at this restaurant, so I want to sincerely thank Jesus for being an amazing and attentive server during our dinner. The food was alright. Prices were very steep for entrees, but most meals were enough for a leftovers box. It was nice having chips and salsa at the table. My friend ordered the Classic Margarita, and really enjoyed it. We got a range of dishes, from Ceviche to Enchiladas and all were good. Definitely a solid option if you are in Downtown Palm Springs, but nothing special!
Mexican restaurant in Palm Springs. Food was overall okay. Nothing spectacular in my opinion and nothing terrible. Chunky guac and their salsa was pretty good. Entrees had lots of cheese, especially in/ on the enchiladas, and rollenos. We couldn’t tell the plates apart because of so much cheese. The margaritas are quite good. I recommend the jalapeño margarita.
We had the Su Seleciones with the combination of 2 dishes for 20 USD and the portion was huge! Too big for 1 person to finish. I recommend to take 1 plate with 3 different dishes for 2 people to finish. Tortilla chips were free and unlimited with salsa which was nice. Our service guy (Hugo) made sure we always had tortilla chips with salsa and water. Perfect service from him. The restaurant is huge. Many seating areas. At first we were seated next to the service station where they refill water and clean the dishes. This was outside but not quiet and relaxing. Then we were seated outside in the area where the band played. It was nicer but too loud if you want to relax.

Had about a 20 minute wait for our table, then seated promptly. Server was fine, but would not substitute a small salad for the rice and beans. I have found most Mexican restaurants will do this.…
We have been here before but this visit we were sadly disappointed in the food. We started with their signature margaritas and they were good. We had the Yuca appetizer to share and that was the best we ate that night. I ordered the steak fajitas and they were fair, at best. I liked the idea of the poblano 'rajas' added to the onions and peppers however they came out Luke warm, not sizzling, and there were very few (maybe about 6 or 7) rajas. The steak was overcooked and again lukewarm. Big miss for me. My husband had the Oaxacan mole enchiladas and they were very tasty and authentic. Our bill was $300+ tip and that is just too expensive for mid food and drinks for 6 of us. We enjoy the live music and that may get us to go back but we will skip the food next time. Our server was great, funny and attentive. That was a plus.
It was a stunning day to sit outside having lunch we ordered fajitas and the basic combo plate. Prices were fairly reasonable for this Day and age. The waitress was less than attentive had to ask for a refill and then again for water. I figured maybe they were just conserving g it or something? ONE never knows right? So the plates arrived piping hot, the food was beautiful and presented rather nicely. There was plenty of food for leftovers the next day. My disappointment began with the waitress getting attitude when I told her I had been given a ground beef taco instead of shredded. She brought a new shresdded beef taco but when i put some of their wonderful salsa on it i noticed it hadnt chamged it still had some kind of fibrous meat. It xoulfmt be real meat so i thought maybe vegetarian? No i was corrected its supposed to be some kind of beef? Petri dish or lab grown im not sure. Ive been around a long time and ive cooked a lot of mexican food, my fave! So she retreated inside im not sure what happened to her , other staff said she wasn't on any break. We couldn't get one last refill she was talking kicked back with the cook? The meal looked fabulous melted cheese all around looked so yummy. But these tacos ill never order again, the cheese enchilada left much to be desired as good as it looked the thick tortilla was hardly cooked and it was hard, and tough to eat too. The Chile relleno is what I had hoped would save the meal. But it sadly didn't do the trick I couldn't find the chile inside of it? Wth? Guacamole we ordered the chunky style, it was fresh and it was real avocado. I could tell that much lol It was great along with their salsa maybe the best around but we waited so long for the waitress but it was too late for them by the time we found her inside chatting. Nevertheless the food has great potential, but just like our govt needed a new president to get things right, this Casuelas in downtown Palm Springs, could use a new more mindful cook. Just a few tweaks and our $70.00 lunch no drinks would have been amazing. I guess anymore they expect us to eat just any old thing. I'm really sorry to say that! I really had my hopes up for finding some if not the best authentic and real meat, Mexican food in this Coachella valley. I'll stay home and make a sandwich next at-home. Save my money, hopes, and disappointments for some other time..

My husband and I had a lite lunch here. Our food was good but nothing special. Margaritas were good. Server was fine. Plenty of outdoor seating.

Th food was so bland. The salsa was like Pace salsa you get at a grocery store. The steak and chicken tacos had no flavoring. It was some of the worst Mexican food I have had in California…. Do not recommend!
This was the worst Mexican food, if you can call it that. The plate was loaded with refried beans. There was no flavor in the burrito or the chili relleno. The chili tasted like it was out of a can. Salsa tastes like tomato sauce, it’s like they forgot the spices. I’m from Colorado where they take major pride in the food. I think the owners should taste their food.
We have been wanting to try this place for years! We’ve been wanting to try Cazuelas Terraza in Palm Springs for years—every time we’d pass by, there were crowds and live music, so we figured the food must be good. We finally went on Sunday night, and honestly, it was one of the worst dining mistakes we’ve made. I’ll give credit where it’s due: the restaurant has a nice aesthetic. If you’re looking for atmosphere and maybe an overpriced drink, it might be worth it. But food-wise? Absolutely not. Out of the 8 people in our group, not one of us finished our meal—the food was that bad. The flavors were either bland or just off, and to make matters worse, our waitress even admitted, “we really aren’t that Mexican of a restaurant.” The service wasn’t great either, which added to the disappointment. At best, this is a place to sit outside, listen to the live music, and maybe snack on chips and salsa. But if you’re actually looking for a good meal, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. We left super disappointed.
