Fantastic find! This little gem had wonderful food and a great atmosphere. Service was a little slow for late afternoon/early dinner timeframe but the food made up for it. The server was also very kind so it all made up for a longer meal. Best part is - it was kid friendly! 100% coming back again!
Great Location, Food, and Service by JESS! The restaurant was clean and well staffed by friendly employees. Restrooms were available and clean. The Menu has something for everyone and the Portions were above par and cooked as ordered. The Pizza was very good as was the rest of our order. The Beer list is extensive and they have a nice cocktail offering. It also has some nice History. In the area give them a try
In general I go with the pizza, burgers or other sandwiches. However, their salads are really good and Large as well. The number #1 reason I come here is for the environment, both inside and outside, it’s relaxing and fun with friends and family. Staff is always extremely helpful and good service. But my real secret is the fantastic large selection of local beers and my absolute favorite hazy IPA on the menu No Woman No Cory! Great fun environment inside as well with guitars and other decor! All of these categories considered, it is hands-down, the best restaurant to go to in Palmer!
Absolutely our favorite place to eat and drink in Palmer. The staff are always friendly and happy to help customers. Our drinks brought out within a few minutes of ordering them, food was made quickly and delicious. We got two of the local ciders that were fantastic. My husband had the bacon Mac and cheese and it was incredible, so much flavor, creamy and hearty. I got a bacon cheese burger and it was just as good, perfectly cooked. I highly recommend the Palmer Alehouse to anyone in the area visiting. The atmosphere is wonderful, very inviting and comfortable to be in. I do recommend that on weekends non Alaskans call to see how busy the place might be, we love our local 'watering holes' and keep them fairly busy. For our meals and drinks it was about 70 bucks. All the food and drinks are very well priced.
Very welcoming staff. I had the Steak grilled cheese sandwich 10/10. Don't remember what my other 2 family members had bu I do remember them being happy with their orders.Great variety of beer and spirits. The band was a ++.
The ambiance and the beer were a big win for me, but the food was a bit disappointing. My wife’s burger was good albeit a bit heavy on bread and light on beef, but the Nachos were really heavy on chips and light on cheese/beans/salsa. The cheese was so cold it was hard when it was served. Our server however, Teagon, was really nice and helpful with giving local information on hike for us. If it was not for the server and the beer, I would have gives this a 4, which is not bad, just not excellent. VictorB
A Palmer, AK classic. Serving local beer and delicious food, this alehouse is worth the wait (which often happens during peak hours). I never miss a visit (or more) to the Palmer Alehouse when I'm in town. The most noteworthy accomplishment, in my esteem, is the BEST BLOODY MARY ON EARTH (in my limited experience). Served with delicious pickled green beans, real horseradish, a hamburger slider, bacon, and the obligatory lemon, olives and celery - EPIC.
Hands down the best restaurant in terms of service in our 10+ days of Alaska trip ! When we tried ordering beer , she said try before you decide then brought us four choices of samples . When we ordered calzone , she asked if we would like it to be decided in two or four parts. The fire grilled burger and soup were served divided nicely already. Etc. Everything she had done was just sweet and nice ! Food was great too! Liked the jalapeño calzone and the tomato soup a lot !
We were sent here by our local kids and were NOT disappointed. Our seating time was fast, our server fun and on point, and the manager😏, the food came out quickly, and was very tasty. Shelby recommended one of the sandwiches and it was huge and delicious. My Hawaiian pizza, add jalapeños, was top notch and the drinks were effective 😁.
Given that the other people in my group know that I’m big on leaving reviews, they all told me “Ginnie this is definitely 5 stars!” And I couldn’t agree more! Atmosphere is wonderful and the outside wasn’t even open! Listen, we are from way down south in Lafayette, Louisiana and my boyfriend knows absolutely nothing nor cares to know really, about craft beers. He drinks name brand and that’s it. Garrett was about serve and my boyfriend asked for something similar to said name brand. Garrett knew immediately and when I say I have never seen my boyfriend enjoy a craft beer before.. he could not stop talking about. The other couple with us said, “ok I want one too” and had the exact same reaction. IIIIII don’t drink beer at all and I THOROUGHLY enjoyed it. The food was delicious! We had the nachos with chicken for an appetizer, and a meat lovers pizza, Thai chicken salad, buffalo wings, and the beefy grilled cheese. AALLLL delicious! So much food though that we will now have leftovers for a breakfast of champs! I am so happy we ended up coming here after sitting around at our AirBnB deliberating on what to do for the evening! After we ate here we finished off with some ice cream at The Big Dipper homemade ice cream, and you can go head that way and read my review about them BECAUSE IM SPRINTING.
I was starting to doubt the quality of food in Alaska. This place restored my faith for prompt friendly service and hot delicious food. I was recommended this ale house by our pilot and I am so glad we listened. Our waitress was friendly and the food came out quickly. We ordered a Hawaiian pizza and the cheese fries. The pizza was gooey with cheese while keeping the crisp of the pizza. The cheese fries were hot, the portion side was huge!
Great little ale house with a variety of local craft beers on tap. Had their outlaw burger and it was very good! Large portion size, very flavorful. The fries were fantastic! If you are in the Anchorage area, and looking for a great little Taste Tour, then make the short drive to Palmer and enjoy dinner and a brew!
Always utmost hospitality, yet another event upstairs; simple caesar-wrap with tomato or potatoe soups, scrumptious and fast and reasonable!

In a historic building with amazing history, this place has modern, but eclectic vibes. The burger and salad we ordered were delicious and the service was exceptionally friendly.
This place was very solid. It took a while to get seated as I think they were short staffed. However the food was very good and all the workers were friendly. The burgers and pizza are pretty good.…

We've been here several times and it's a nice casual place in the Valley. The menu is fairly large and covers the standard grill and pizza style entrees. The last time we went the service was wonderful, our server was so sweet and perfectly kind while being quick and helpful. The food itself was fine, maybe it was an off day, limp fries and such, because it had been better the previous times we'd come. Sometimes it can be crowded but this last time there was no wait. I'm sure we'll be back again next time we're that way, their pizza was pretty good when we tried it before.
The food is pretty decent. I think the pizzas taste better when you get them in calzone form. This is a popular joint and great place to hang out with friends or fam.
So my experience here has been great every time but today I went, parked in the parking lot and saw, what looked like the kitchen crew, all smoking and just looking unclean. I just left before even going in. Unfortunately I can't come back. That just grossed me out thinking how my food is handled. Still give it 4 stars cuz I've enjoyed every time I've gone. Wish I didn't see the back door today.
We had a wonderful dining experience. Our waitress is originally from Kazakhstan. I can't remember her name, but she was awesome. The food was delicious, from the garlic cheese bread to the Beefy grilled cheese I had and the gyro, the cheeseburger, and the Philly cheese steak that the rest of us had. The kitchen was backed up, and there was a 20ish minute wait to be seated, but overall, everything was amazing!!!!
My low score is based on their gluten free option. There is an extra charge of $2.49 but the bun is literally half the size of the non gluten free bun. So you will pay more for a whole lot less. Also…

Everything about this place is really pleasant. Especially if you were just going there simply for beers and a burger. However I don’t understand how two children and an adult can have a $120+ bill. We had three entrées and an appetizer of cheese fries and shared 1 dessert. Up charging four dollars for a gluten-free pizza that is the same size as the 12”pizza just blows my mind. I’ll have Palmer Alehouse for special occasions. I just can’t justify going there on any old Thursday night.

I have attempted to love this place. I contemplated long and thought deeply about this review based on several visits. The GOOD: This restaurant is charming inside, and the bar is long and can accommodate several walk-ins. There is a decent selection of beer, and the cocktails are usually a hit. The exterior seating area is the major win!👌 Well done. The views, the stage, and the fire pits are welcoming and make you want to stay longer, especially on warm sunny days. They also do concerts and are a significant place for entertainment in Palmer. The SO-SO: Service is a hit-and-miss. Sometimes you get a fantastic server; other times, you get the one that forgets you, and other times the one that's just OK. Really, that's any restaurant, so I am not too upset here. The BAD: The food. The only thing on the menu that is somewhat consistent is the pizza. Out of the several visits over the last five years, it is so inconsistent that I don't know why I came back for this last visit. The fries were so greasy, the burger that was supposed to be spicy wasn't. The kids' burger is more like a slider, and we felt the server should have advised us that for an 11-year kid, perhaps the burger is just a slider. I can't reasonably come back for the food. Overall, I'll return for the events, but the food is out of the question.
I went to Palmer Ale House for dinner on a Tuesday night. It wasn’t very busy, yet it took over 45 minutes to get our food. When it finally arrived, it was cold. This is the 3rd time I’ve been here and had the same issue with cold food. At this point, I’m not sure I’ll be back anytime soon. It seems like a decent place to grab a beer or an appetizer, but not if you’re planning on ordering a hot meal. Unless you’re okay with cold food.
Unfortunately on the night that there is a band, the kitchen staff should probably not be brand new. The server was very attentive and informed us of the issue prior to ordering, but we figured we would still get our food at the same time and it would be warm. It seems like it could be a great place.
We eat here 3-4 times per month. The owners brought in a consultant who has made some major changes and they’re not good. Big change is going from fresh cut fries to frozen fries. They’re the same that Red Robin uses. They’re not planning on changing the wording either. The burger was undercooked and like warm. The black and blue fries were soggy and not edible. It’s sad that they just seemed to stop caring about the quality.
