The best tacos in Decatur, possibly the best in all of Alabama! I never leave town without enjoying a pair of tacos and a horchata. Delicioso!
The food is truly authentic Mexican food. Not only is it authentic, but it is also delicious. This was a favorite of mine when i lived in the area. We always go out of our way to stop here on our 8 hour trips to visit family. This is a small family owned business that has been here for many years. The family all have great customer service skills and are very professional. Everything is good! Be sure to mention how you want your tacos dressed though, they have Mexican street style and American style.
Carne Asada Fries here is where it's at. Nice balance of steak to potato ratio. I always ask for pico de Gallo on mine which helps cut down grease from the queso.
Fantastic authentic Mexican food. This is amongst the top in the whole state of Alabama. Comparable to California Mexican food. And on top of the excellent quality, there’s a drive thru!
Always great service and smiling faces. Really good people running this restaurant. Best Mexican food in Decatur. I love it because there's dine in, take out, or drive through. Makes it very convenient if you are in a hurry. They also have really great prices. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE

✨This review is in reference to the El Palomino food truck that’s located on Danville Park Drive, SW. The customer service was great! I didn’t have cash on hand so I had to use Apple Pay and the gentleman from the back explained kindly to me that there’s a fee for debit/ credit card transactions because my total was a little bit more than what was previously told to me. It wasn’t a problem for me at all! All of the employees were kind and very friendly. They’re open Tuesday - Sunday (11 am - 8 pm). Please stop by and get some of the great food they have! The horchata was delicious as well as the grilled chicken meal that I ordered. I’ve eaten at the main location on 6th Avenue many times before and I’ve never had any problems. You won’t regret it! 🙂✨

The food is very cheaply priced, and so amazing. My husband and I just got some food yesterday and everything was delicious. It’s been awhile since I’ve eaten here and my husband’s 1st time trying it and we will definitely be turning into regulars. They take their time making your food and put their all into it. Definitely made my pregnant heart and belly very happy.
This walk up/drive thru was everything I hoped it would be. I recently started a new job in town and asked a friend who knows how I feel about tacos where I should go. She didn't steer me wrong. The food is delicious, and the staff is friendly. This will be the place I go to satisfy my weekly taco craving.

This place is a good little taco place usually. I love getting chicharrons here but they didn't have any available the other day. We also usually love to get their tamales but they were not very good last time we visited them. The steak torte my husband got was good and so was my burrito. Most of the time food and service is much better than we had our last visit. We Have been back there to their restaurant, their store, and to their food truck in several locations several times since then and all is back running smoothly and tasting better than ever. Great food for a good price.
I asked for 2 orders of steak tacos with cheese , I got only 3 tacos without cheese and more veggies than meat . I’m not a rabbit
The food was delicious. My only issue was getting chips that were inedible with my queso dip. They were very old and you could tell that they had been refried. Other than that, it was good
Everytime I go. I get the tamales. This is the 3rd time I have gotten bones in mine. Picture taken with a dime to scale. Called and was told *it's not our fault it's how the meat is prepared * how is it not when the product comes from there anyway? They told me to bring back the 1 tamale for an exchange. I have fully torn each one apart looking for other bones before I called so there is not a solid tamale to bring back..not worth the price to replace the food ordered and gas to get back there. No receipts are given to show what you ordered amd no cash back option either so an exchange is the only option it seems.
Last night I ordered chicken and rice for $9.99 and two churros marked $1.99 each. My bill? $20. When I questioned it, the manager claimed the churros were $2.99 — despite the sign saying $1.99. Even at $2.99, the math still doesn’t reach $20 with tax. Check your receipt carefully — overcharging seems to be part of the experience here.
The food is great some times, but when giving them cash, be careful.... my order was $36, and some change, but the ladie only gave me cents when I gave here $40 she was the girl in red hair (she is on the green trailer, usually serving ice cream or water) I ASKED FOR THE RECEIPT TWICE BUT ACTED LIKE SHE DINT HEAR ME!. Y si hablo español pero no vegan aquí se quieres que te roben. Edit:: I saw her, and this was not last week or 2 weeks ago, but call me a liar when my girl was there, and I told her what the red hair women did. ALSO calling someone that used to work there to "please take down that review" because they know me. YOU ARE A JOKE. CALL HERE AGAIN TO TELL ME TO PUT THE BAD REVIEW DOWN!!!! NO compren aquí!!!
I have ordered from the food truck before and it was ok...this time I ordered a grilled chicken taco and I'm sorry to say it was really not good at all.. it had absolutely NO taste AT ALL... the taco tortilla was the only thing I could taste.. It was a corn tortilla. I'm telling you it tasted like I was in the hospital on a diabetic healthy heart diet with no sodium.... if you have ever been in a hospital then you know EXACTLY what I mean.. that is the only way I know how to describe it. I hope the owners Please taste the taco and they will see as well... I'm sorry again I'm not trying to be ugly but that wasn't worth the$7 I paid. So beware... my husband said the steak burrito is delicious so that's something
