Really enjoyed KITA for my birthday dinner. The server was very nice. He was from Philadelphia so he related to us as he was from the East Coast too. The sushi was really good. The milk bread was really yummy. The server recommended us a dish and we ended up getting it and it was so GREAT. And the cotton candy was pretty cool. We also got me a very nice dessert for my birthday.
We stopped by last minute and sat at the bar. Jack and Adam absolutely took care of us remembering our names immediately and checking in on us throughout. And to top it off this was some of the best food I’ve ever had in Utah as a born and raised Utahn. HIGHLY recommend.
My experience at Kita at the Pendry Park City was nothing short of extraordinary. Easily one of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve ever had. I first attended their sushi-making class, which was intimate, beautifully curated, and led by the incredibly talented Chef G, whose passion for his craft and connection with guests made the evening unforgettable. His scallop nigiri was one of the most exquisite bites I’ve ever had, a true testament to his artistry and attention to detail. After the class, I decided to return later in the evening once the restaurant reopened for dinner to enjoy dessert. The team was incredibly accommodating. Naomi, the general manager, was kind, gracious, and attentive, helping me find a table right away. Claudia, my server, was exceptional. Her warmth, emotional intelligence, and ability to help guests feel seen and valued reflect everything that genuine hospitality should be. I had no expectations for dessert and simply went with the team’s recommendations, who spoke highly of the Baked Cheesecake and the Chocolate Marquise. They mentioned the Marquise might be unavailable, and when I told Claudia I’d love to try both, she immediately reassured me not to worry, if they were out, the team would happily whip up something chocolatey for me. And they did. The result was an incredible, beautifully presented chocolate dessert and a baked cheesecake that was absolutely to die for. When you visit, save room for dessert and order the baked cheesecake, it’s a must. Every person I encountered, from the chefs to the bussers, embodied a level of care and professionalism that’s rare and deeply felt. Thank you to the incredible team at KITA, including but not limited to Naomi, Chef G, Claudia, Jude, and Stephanie, for creating such a heartfelt and memorable experience. I left Kita not only impressed by the food but profoundly touched by the people. I can’t wait to return.
It is my pleasure to say that the food, staff, and ambiance, were all five stars more than any restaurant I have been to. Even the high end sushi restaurants in California and in Seattle that I've tried couldn't hold a torch to how immaculate and flavorful the food was! Look out Gordon Ramsay!
Absolutely beautiful meal - we went on our honeymoon trip and were treated like royalty! Eddie (our server) was kind, knowledgeable, and made our evening special. Gorgeous atmosphere, amazing wine selection, and some of the best food we have had in our lives! We will absolutely return for future special occasions.
Our family has had breakfast at Kita two days in a row since we arrived in Park City and both times, Mauricio has been our waiter. He’s incredibly warm, upbeat, and attentive which makes a big difference at 7:30 in the morning. We will continue coming back to Kita during our stay. Food was top notch and I highly recommend the Eggs Benedict. Truly remarkable and consistent service.
Absolutely top tier dining experience. The manager TJ has created an incredible atmosphere, from the perfect food to the charismatic service staff. Our server Ryan was a riot and full of exceptional suggestions and recommendations, which we appreciated. He talked us into getting Elk chops, totally outside our usual comfort zone, and it ended up being the star of the show. The garlic scallop nigiri was also totally righteous. Next time we come to Park City we are definitely staying with the Pendry group, they know how to do it right.
We had the Christmas Eve special prix-fixe (not regular menu items), and it was exceptional. Every element of every dish was intentional and flavorful. Their cocktails were also very well done and the bartenders were great for conversation. Dress well when coming in!
Came in to celebrate my 30th bday. We lucked out and it wasn’t busy on a Friday night. The atmosphere was very nice and classy. We had the crisp and firecracker apps to start which were both very good. We then had sushi, highly recommend the Hot Night Roll. Three of us had the Chilean Sea Bass which was 10/10 and the fourth person in our group had the chicken which was also very good. I wish I could remember our waitresses name, she was super nice and made just our meal had great pacing. She also brought me a dessert for my birthday. Overall we had a great experience and will be back!
First time visit and was so impressed by the ambience!! Just gorgeous!! This is not any ordinary Japanese restaurant! This is drop dead amazingly different food! Jack, our server, was Uber cute and so knowledgeable and attentive!! If you are looking for delicious and different Japanese, come here!!!
This was one of the most incredible dinners we’ve ever had. Service was impeccable and they did everything they could to make our experience special. Our table wasn’t ready on time so they gave us cocktails on the house to pass the time. The entire meal was excellent. Claudia, our server, was fantastic and we can’t say enough about her.
The food was excellent, service incredible, atmosphere very comfortable and upscale. We were craving quality sushi and steak and this place definitely delivered! A perfect date night. Shoutout to our server Jace for nailing it :) Nigiri was awesome, steak was phenomenal
In October, my family was staying around the corner from KITA. We decided one night to head over for dessert. We had the Banana Chocolate Gratin, Milk Bread Pudding, and Seasonal Sorbet. The Banana Chocolate Gratin was rich and wonderful. The Milk Bread Pudding was the best dessert I’ve ever had. It was light and fluffy, and the whiskey sauce was magical. The Sorbet was good. We will definitely go back.
Kita Restaurant in Park City is by far the best dining experience in the area. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with an atmosphere that’s both refined and welcoming. The freshness and quality of the ingredients are unparalleled—every bite bursts with flavor, and you can taste the care that goes into each dish. The service is impeccable—attentive without being overbearing, ensuring you have a flawless experience from start to finish. If you visit, you must order the Japanese sweet potato—it’s unlike anything you’ve ever had, and the Kita Special Roll is an absolute showstopper. But honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu; each dish is a masterpiece. I am completely speechless after leaving. Kita has set the bar for what exceptional dining should be. This place is a true gem in Park City!
The steak here is absolutely to die for. I wish I had three more stomachs, solely so I could eat more of it. I wish I could remember our servers name, because she was wonderful; very attentive and fun to have around. The Japanese wagyu is definitely worth buying a sampler of, and the NY Strip was cooked to perfection. I cannot wait for a chance to come back.
KITA is delicious! Loved all of the appetizers and the sushi rolls were fresh and a good amount. The atmosphere was chic and relaxing. Our server was great too.... knowledgeable and witty!
Amazing Japanese steakhouse on the Canyons side of Park City! TJ (GM) took good care of my large party along with an experienced waiter. The steak was prepared as expected, perfect. They also made an accommodation to serve sushi to the Apres restaurant by request. Overall 10/10.
Our group had a wonderful time, the food and wine were amazing. But what truly elevated our experience was our server, Claudia. Despite the restaurant being packed, she was incredibly sweet and attentive throughout. She made our night even more memorable!
One of the best overall restaurant experiences I’ve been a part of. The food was amazing and the service was equally above par. We had a large group of 8 and they had a team focused on our table making sure we had a great experience.
Excellent place for last minute Valentine's dinner with my date of 40 years! Great food, Outstanding Salmon Carpaccio and sushis
Mouthwatering steak that I dream about, fresh flavorful, exquisite sushi - truly a dynamic duo. This is a MUST do in work city and canyons. The atmosphere is also stunning
Oh My, What a Resort Experience! I’ve been visiting resorts for over 50 years, from California to Colorado, and I can say without hesitation that this was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had anywhere in the Western United States. While visiting Salt Lake City, I made a trip to Park City and was struck by the incredible growth at Canyons Resort. During my exploration, I managed to secure a dinner reservation at KITA—and what followed was an unforgettable evening. We arrived early at the Pendry to take in the changes at the resort and decided to start with drinks at Dos Olas Cantina. We were promptly seated outside, where a talented vocal group was performing at Après, adding a perfect touch of atmosphere. Our server, Chris, was attentive, personable, and highly knowledgeable about the menu. He took the time to recommend drinks tailored to each of our tastes, and they were mixed to perfection. I also noticed Dvonta, the manager, making rounds—visible, engaged, and ensuring everything ran smoothly. After drinks, we headed to KITA for dinner. At the front desk, Maggie greeted us warmly and seated us in an excellent spot. Our server, Jace, quickly introduced himself, answered questions with expertise, and made thoughtful recommendations. Shortly after, Naomi, the manager, stopped by to introduce herself and chat—a gracious touch that made us feel valued. Our drinks arrived promptly, thanks to Jack, the bartender, whose mixology skills were on full display. We began with the Firecracker appetizer, karaage fried chicken (absolutely outstanding), and a Hot-Night roll, accompanied by freshly baked bread—an exceptional start. Throughout the evening, Mai, Daniel, and Unique were attentive without being intrusive, ensuring water was refilled, plates were cleared, and our needs were met. Their professionalism and warmth elevated the experience. For our main course, we enjoyed an 8oz filet, elk chops, cheesy corn, creamed spinach, and fried rice. Every dish was prepared to perfection, showcasing both culinary skill and attention to detail. This wasn’t just a meal—it was a complete hospitality experience. The combination of impeccable service, outstanding food, and genuine warmth from every staff member made it truly memorable. In my book, it’s a resounding Bravo. A trip to Park City and Canyons Resort simply isn’t complete without experiencing the Pendry and the exceptional team at KITA.
Throughout my culinary experience, I have never met such a kind, generous waiter, such as Jace. Jace, you are the best waiter, generous, and helpful waiter that I could’ve ever asked for. Jace helped us sort out our meals and helped us pick our special desserts and our specialty seafood foods that we enjoyed amazingly throughout the night. Jace helped us so much and was one of the most helpful person I’ve ever met. He’s also just such a kind person in general and he invites you to the restaurant with such a large smile and a happy warm feeling from the second, I entered this restaurant I knew just by seeing Jace that this meal would be amazing. Jace was the waiter I have seen with the most aura. Many inside jokes such as no no no Shaquille O’Neal. As we said goodbye, he reminded us of the amazing memories we had made with him in the short time. Farewell my king.
We just had dinner for an anniversary, everyone and everything was amazing specially our server Eddie he took such an amazing care of us
Lovely place to get warmth and positive vibrations post ski session. I highly recommend splitting some apps and enjoying the espresso martini after shredding some fresh pow with your mates.
This was such a great experience we didn't have a reservation but they managed to get us in. This was so worth it the starters were amazing! But no other place could compare to the food they had. The stake was so close to perfection. It almost melted in your mouth. Also all of the elk and bison are from New Zealand. The kids menu has some great options. Not to mention the service was fast and we weren't waiting forever. Lastly the dessert was just so good. I recommend the chocolate moose. I definitely recommend this place although it was a little pricey it was all worth it in the end.
My husband and I have been coming to Kita since it opened and it has become such a special place to us. Not only is the food consistently incredible, the service is always impeccable. Jack the bartender has remembered us every time we’ve come and always gone above and beyond to make our dining experience exceptional — to the point we only sit at the bar. We often say Kita is one of favorite restaurants in the world. Our favorite bites are the Hatate Batayaki (scallop nigiri), the sweet potato, any of the sushi rolls and of course the ever changing cocktails. Would highly recommend!
Just Wow! Kita completely exceeded every expectation — the food and service were phenomenal. Eddie made the night unforgettable. He suggested family-style so we could try a mix of appetizers, sushi, and steak. At every opportunity, he offered thoughtful suggestions tailored to our tastes and took us on a true Kita journey. We love spicy food and sauces, so he brought two wasabi mixes that layered flavor and elevated every bite. The pickled wasabi was a huge hit — we ordered two sides, and my husband was literally eating it straight out of the sauce dish! The Wasatch Roll was unlike anything we’ve seen before, and we LOVE sushi. Bravo for such a memorable, surprising flavor — it’s making my mouth water just thinking about it. The Hotate Batayaki scallop nigiri with miso glaze could span two categories: sushi and dessert — it was like eating a happy moment. And the ribeye? Melt-in-your-mouth perfection — of course you need to order all the sauces: yuzu chimichurri all the way! I see you, scrolling reviews like me, looking for places that make trips memorable. Stop searching. Make a reservation at Kita, ask for Eddie, bring a great friend, and I bet you’ll be writing your own kick-ass review! P.S. Ivan helped us with our coats and was incredibly sweet and caring. When the ladies in our group wanted to walk back to our lodging in the drizzle, he went out of his way to try and help us get a ride so we wouldn’t slip — such genuine concern.
I go out to dinner almost every night and I can confidently say we have never had a server as amazing as Mallory. Not only was the food impeccable, her service was alert and was surprised how knowledgeable she was with the menu and recommend everything. The host Mina was so sweet and welcoming, amazing experience all around!
Kita gave us great service for a large party. All the food was perfect and the sushi especially the Kita roll was a big hit. The mushrooms were delicious and the complimentary brioche was tasty. The restaurant is located in the Pendry plaza which has beautiful lighting and is right on park city mountain. Overall, this was a very special occasion for us all.
Exceptional service, delicious food and nice ambiance. We would definitely return & recommend to others. Shout out to our server Mallory from CT and busser Daniel from New Zealand. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with them.
My husband and I have visited the Canyons for the past ten years and stay in a condo near your restaurant. Our experience last night was the best by far in the past ten years. Atmosphere and food definitely played a part, but our server Ryan was the reason in me giving this review. From food and wine/champagne recommendations to just being a very friendly person. Not one to usually do reviews, but his service definitely deserves recognition. We will most certainly be returning next year, asking for Ryan as our server. Great job Kita!
If I could give more stars than five on the service I would. We had a lovely dinner here tonight. We are locals so we can eat out or not. I had the Seabass. It was amazing. The sushi rolks were great and my husband had a very nice steak. Oh, and don’t miss the side of the Japanese sweet potato. We have some of that to take home. The cream on there was like dessert.
We had a great anniversary dinner at Kita. Excellent food and our sever Kristi was a real gem - she provided great service and spot on food and drink recommendations. Far and away the best meal we had in Park City.
My husband and I went to KITA for our anniversary. The food was outstanding, the service was excellent and very professional, and the atmosphere was beautiful. Our waiter, Dillon, couldn't do enough for us. Hats off to the staff at KITA and thank you for the amazing experience.
Yes, eat at the bar! Nice spot (the main restaurant is plenty good) but a cute spot for a couple or two -only eight seats, Jack the bartender was informative and fun. He guided us to excellent sushi and sashimi selections. Great Caesar salad, nice enough to split for two. Maitake mushroom side dish is a must! Skip complimentary warm bread and save you appetite for their diverse and savory menu. Also I would suggest the little popcorn bar snack they offer is not up to snuff -considering how great everything else is!
Had a wonderful dinner at KITA recently and couldn't recommend it enough. This is the perfect place to celebrate a special anniversary, birthday, or get together with family/friends. They have amazing sushi options and would highly suggest the Hamachi Nigiri
Had dinner at the bar last night. Noah the bartender was very professional and loaded with good local information. The show stopper was Naomi. She is the manager and made the dinner memorable. Her dedication to providing top notch attention to every detail was more than evident. Seldom do you find an establishment that provides professional service and outstanding food. Do not miss out on their specialty sushi rolls!!! Murray Segal
Terrific service, among the best in Park City. Excellent cocktails (a modest list, but each with style). Very good cooked dishes, tasty truffle mashed potato, and even the marinated chicken was something special. Pretty good sushi (lesser than Nakka but better than most in PC). Yes, if you are here on vacation, your final bill will be a third more than what seems right for the portions and ingredients, but that is how Park City works (if you want value for money, you have to go to Salt Lake). Expect this correctly and you will be satisfied with a nicely done meal and some uniquely made items.
We went for Dine-About. Decent food in a hotel restaurant. The cooked food is quite good. Miso ponzu cod is quite the stand out based on Nobu miso cod but maybe even better from old memories. My friend's steak was great and dessert was nice as well. All the cooked food was cooked and flavored well. They really need to work on the sushi though. Worse than an average sushi restaurant. The fish was average but the rice was way below average...almost grocery quality in preparation. For the price, they really need to upgrade the sushi. Also while you are copying Nobu, can you add their rock shrimp tempura to the menu? There's not much to comment on the price...you are definitely paying for location and atmosphere but the cooked food is good enough that it doesn't bother me too much. I did think it was funny the waitress said the Dine about menu was "good value"...when did $100+ per person without alcohol become good value?
It's a beautiful space with a fantastic vibe, but besides that it's very mediocre and over priced. My steak, sides and bernaise sauce all came out barely warm to room temp. I told them the bernaise sauce wasn't warm and they took it away only to come back and say it was actually warm and it was definitely not warm. The bernaise sauce also had zero flavor. Again, cool space but the food just isn't anything special. Will not come back.
Update: This year we had opportunity to try this place for dinner. I have to admit that they are really trying to please their customers.... but... trying unfortunately isn't enough. Call me spoiled, but their sushi are at best at a par with NY grocery. Wagy steak was way too fat and for two appetizers, few rolls and 5oz wagu steak plus 3 drinks and 1 dessert the bill was whooping $800!!! As there were 3 of us it came close to $300 per person... I am sorry, but for this kind of money I expect to have some type of culinary experience and satisfaction, which wasn't the case at all! I hope that will change but for now it is mediocre food that is unreasonably overpriced. This is a Japanese steak restaurant that decided to participate in serving breakfast. The menu has mostly traditional for the breakfast items, and food overall was quite good. Especially chicken sausages and pancakes. The only thing I can't complain about is that it is overpriced for breakfast. Other than that, I have enjoyed it.
Ordered some toro and salmon sashimis, which was decent. Edamame was same as anywhere else. Maine Lobster was typical as well. But man was that Seared Scallops terrible, one piece was over seasoned (way too salty), another piece too blend and the final piece has an extremely awful aftertaste. Even that coke given to me for free tasted expired. The servers and everything but the food is pretty good though. They took the scallops off the bill, but whoever is responsible for the quality control really needs to step up their game when you are charging this much.
Maybe it was an off night for the establishment, but my wife and I had a terrible experience. I’m thoughtful in leaving negative reviews, because I recognize there has been a lot of hard work put into operating this business. Hopefully they take the feedback and turn make some improvements. For $70, the fillet mignon was bad compared to other nice steak houses. The halibut was undercooked and lacking flavor. The fried cauliflower was unusual enough that some like it and some may not. The deep fried breading is thick/heavy so couldn’t each much. The mushrooms were too acidic/lemony/vinegary for our liking. Not savory like most high end restaurant mushrooms. My wife liked the spinach that came with the fish. We had to ask for our bill because the waiter never once came and checked on us. He apologized on our way out.
Service was enthusiastic yet incompetent. Food was creative yet poorly executed. Starting with the host, we called to confirm our timing for arrival. We likely should have been told that the group in front of us was going to need an extra 20+ minutes and we could arrive at a later time. Instead, our large group arrived and was told that we should find another bar to get a drink at before our reservation. It made us look disorganized to our group and made our group uncomfortable, as we just stood around for 20+ minutes. Once we were in the private dining room with our 17 guests. The table was a bit too small for a group our size, we were not warned that we would have to get comfy and snuggle with our teammates. We had one person not show, the host nor our waiter realized that we could remove a seat from the overstuffed seating. I moved the seat out away from the table, to make some space. After watching the waiter walk around the chair for about 30 minutes. I had to suggest to the waiter to remove the chair to make more room to accommodate service. The waiter was asked by me, the host for the evening, to explain to the table that they should order an entree, soup and salad, that we have ordered apps for the table. No discussion with the group happened from the waiter, the team was a bit confused about what they should be ordering. Then there was the timing. I ordered miso soup, it came out along with my entree. The group ordered sushi & crudo. They were ordered as an appetizer, however they came out after entrees. The restaurant did give us ~3% "make good" by removing some items from the bill. They should have removed more from the bill and if they had brought out some desserts, a fairly common hospitality move, would have made the ineptitude more tolerable. The food was mostly mediocre bordering on not worth what is being charged. We were told that the restaurant was experiencing a large amount of employee turnover which had contributed to the sushi bar being way behind. However we weren't told why we weren't warned about this latency when ordering. Only a single steak was to the correct temp, it was the well-done order. The med-rares were still purple in at least one case. The steaks were over-salted, in my opinion. They didn’t look or taste like the high quality steak I am used to getting at the ~$100+ price tag. The courses were not steady, nor timely. We had long waits between food coming to the table. We had apps come when a dessert course should have been served. Overall, nothing happened like one would have expected. Even the pork chop which they asked for a preferred temp, was not to the correct temp. Many drink glasses were empty, often. Overall we spent about $240/pp all included. In short, we overpaid for mediocre food and ultimately incompetent service. Notably there were small groups in the main room that seemed like they were enjoying themselves. I will never book a large group there again. Not sure I will need to give them another try for any size group.
Avoid this place, or only get the cooked meats. $100 for a bottle of Tozai Snow Maiden is highway robbery. Steak/scallops/sea bass was pretty good, but everything that had rice (sushi, fried rice) was extremely disappointing. They really need to learn to make real sushi rice if they’re charging $20-30 a roll. Milk bread was at least both good and complimentary, but the sake pricing + the bad sushi rice was extremely off putting. Bonus - our server spilled the sake while trying to refill for me.
Place has gone downhill. Our waiter rarely checked in on us, guy next to us at the sushi bar was blaring mobile videos, when our second order of sushi came, no plates were cleared. Just a rough meal overall and well below any expectations you'd have for an even average sushi spot, which this place used to be.
Its a cute place. But the food was not good. I ordered their rib eye and sea bass, which was supposed to be their signature dishes. The fish was well cooked, but it was over seasoned and very salty. Rib eye was fine but nothing to call home about. Could have done alot better elsewhere, especially at their price point. Pretty disappointing. So surprised by all the 5 star reviews.
We have celebrate a birthday at the side room with about 15 people service was terrible. We have been waiting over two hours for the food. They have keep providing us more Salads that was pretty basic when the main food got there they told us they out of so many things and they divide the fish for two just to give us the main dish and then charge us for full dish we have came up with over $3500 bill and they had so much extra stuff into the charges. We have got so upset about everything. None of us enjoyed the food. It was really bad food I will not recommend at all save your time and your money. You just another restaurant on a good spot with a terrible service and food, super over price.
Had to cancel my reservation more than 24 hours in advance and the manager told me I would be charged 50.00 per person still when there was openings before and after my reservations. They decided to charge my card 350.00 for a cancelled dinner rsvp more than 24 hours notice. I would beware of this place Update: KITA has my phone number and fully able to contact me to correct this and in return will edit/delete my review. I am willing to pay 50-100 which I stated over the phone but 350.00 is highly unethical
