Opinions de Ramen Tatsunoya Pasadena
Came here today with a friend to try the newly opened Tosakko Ramen in downtown Pasadena. The location is super convenient and the ramen was delicious. The broth tastes freshly simmered and very rich. Also shout out to the chicken breast — so juicy and tender! Definitely a great new ramen spot. Will be back.
The place is always busy and very hospitable. I love the chicken wings and noodles. The broth is very flavorful and fulfilling to the tastebuds. My favorite noodle spot! Enjoyed this place for the last couple of years living here in Pasadena.
Delicious food, excellent service. Is a small restaurant and sometimes you have to share table with other customers and be ready to wait for a table but is so worth it. This is my favorite spot for Ramen other places can't compare 😋
Great price for the quality of the experience. Their noodles may not be my favorite, but all of the ramen broths are excellent. Don’t be scared if there’s a bit of a line at the door; they get people in and out quickly. The servers are all pretty hardworking, it’s just seems that some of them have a hard time understanding what you’re saying.
When I came back from Japan, I was searching for a decent ramen place. This is it. Always fresh hot steaming ramen. I like the noodles they use. Thinner, like angel hair. Solid every time I come here. Line up outside during busy times to wait for a table, but no longer than 20min.
I came here in a Saturday evening. There was a short line. Waited 10 min. The place is nicely lit. Me and my daughter ordered the same thing. Crispy spicy Chashu wraps and KOKU TONKOTSU. THE TAMEN IS GOOD. ITS DELICIOUS. I took a pic to show I finished the whole thing bit because I was hungry , but because it was good. I have to come back to try more. But they won’t disappoint you. My daughter approved this review too. The wraps are tasty. They’re small. Just for one person. Get 2 orders of you like them. This is one of the best ramen in LA county.
Very yummy ramen in Old Town Pasadena! We had no wait time for a table even though the restaurant was quite busy on a weekday. The menu options were simple and the food was hot and tasted great. The extra additions were a bit pricey but the soup itself was enough. I highly recommend their classic Koku Tonkotsu, it has a super rich broth.
We knew this place was good because the line of people waiting to get it. As a party of 2 we were happy to be bumped to the front of the line and snag a bar seat. I love the open kitchen layout where you can watch the food being prepared. I ordered the spicy miso tonkatsu and teriyaki wings. I highly recommend the wings! Never have I had wings that were crispy and saucy and juicy!
I went here on Friday with my parents. The crispy spicy chashu wrap was surprisingly good, not too spicy and perfectly crunchy. I got the spicy miso tonkatsu and was full by the end of dinner. I think I chose medium for the spice level, I don’t remember. The tonkatsu was hot so I mixed the soup until it was a bit cooler. It was a bit loud but that’s because it was packed. The waitress was kind and patient when we were ordering.
Ramen Tatsunoya is a Top Notch ramen Restaurant. They nail the Four main pillars of ramen quality - Noodle quality, Marinated Egg, Broth, and Protein. The noodles are great, egg is exactly what you expect from a top Ramen restaurant, broth is perfectly balanced with plenty of flavor, and the protein was superb. On my next visit I would go light on the green onion since the broth is so flavorful as it is. I would highly recommend checking out Ramen Tatsunoya and I most definitely will be back. Bonus they are open late!
Ramen Tatsunoya is hands down one of the best ramen spots around. The broth is rich and full of flavor without being too heavy, and the chashu pork is perfectly tender with a nice seared edge. The noodles have a great bite, and the toppings green onions, bean sprouts, wood ear mushrooms, and a soft-boiled egg really ties everything together. The service is quick and friendly, but expect a wait because this place is popular. Totally worth it.
I was like why is the gyoza more expensive than the chashu bowl but the chashu bowl’s actually pretty small and the gyoza was realllyuyyu good😋😋😋😋😋😋omg the crisp on the outside…still thinking about it Ramen broth is also amazinggg!!!! Soooo flavorful but it definitely is really heavy!!! I got extra chashu on my ramen and the chashu is sooo thick and flavorful and so good…but this was my first meal of the day and it was really heavy on my system so I left like a 1/3 ish of the broth I think…so just know it’s on the heavier side even for ramen Really really good though and workers were super nice😇 best tonkotsu ramen I’ve ever had
Didn't expect to find ramen this good in Pasadena! Like others have described, the broth is rich and isn't heavy at all. They also offer a lighter version if you like your broth milder. The noodles are firm and the added toppings really add to the overall flavor. Their chashu choice is interesting as it's leaner than I normally see in a ramen shop. The gyoza were a treat and had a nice contrast of crispy and soft, especially with the cooked starch mix. Service was great and felt like what you'd get in Japan. Very happy with my meal here and will definitely come back
I have lived 5 minutes away from this ramen shop since mid-2022. And it wasn't until an idyllic PTO-fueled Monday afternoon that I bothered to check this place out. In my 5 years living in SoCal, I've tried countless ramen shops and they all were great and stand out in one way or another. I've baptized ramen as “The only soup worth eating” and this shop further proves the veracity, authenticity and validity of that statement. The broth is rich, the pork chasu is cooked to perfection, the thin noodles have the right amount of chew and the gyoza is flavorful. Nothing that you could not find at any other competent ramen shop, such as Hiro Nori, but this is located at the heart of Old Pasadena, the locale gives it a boost from 4 stars to 5 stars. I do wish they also offered Tsukemen, though.
Serious ramen. No frills. Just good basic ramen in a cozy place. Sit at the long high tables and meet new friends who also go there for the great food.

For years I've see this on "best ramen" lists but whenever I was in the area the line was out the door. Welp The reputation was well earned! Had that koku tonkatsu. Fantastic. Simple well done tradit…

Another great restaurant in Pasadena. Great ramen, quick service and nice interior. Definitely a must go for Ramen.

The food is great! I love the ambiance and the service is too notch. The people are so nice.

Ordered the Jun Tonkotsu. Flavorful broth, and the pork was amazing. Great service too. Would recommend.
Came here on a Monday around 6pm and there was no wait thankfully. Surprised I actually have not been here yet even though I love ramen and this is walking distance for me. We sat at the bar area…
I've been to a lot of ramen spots around SoCal, and Tatsunoya is easily one of my favorites.\n\nI had the Koku Ramen with extra pork chashu and a side of gyoza--everything was excellent. The broth …
Absolutely gorgeous, perfect seasoned broth, Rahmen cooked to the point. Additionally, we ordered flaked eggs: mind blowing!!!
Great spot for a ramen fix in the heart of old town Pasadena. Ramen is tasty with a nice rich broth. Gyoza is off the charts good. Service is fast and business like. Will definitely return.

Food was good but not the best ramen I had. The broth was flavorful, but it was unfiltered and small pieces of bones and cartilage would be in your dish. Totally normal but I would expect a restaurant to do a better job and skimming the broth. The toppings were of good quality, especially the braised pork. We waited in line for 20 minutes, the place was packed when we arrived and packed when we left. Our order was mixed up, so we ended up waiting a bit more. It was a good ramen but maybe not worth the wait in the rain. 2 ramens and 2 Mexican cokes 55$ plus tip.
If you find yourself along Colorado Boulevard in Old Town Pasadena and hunger sets in, I suggest making a quick turn on to Fair Oaks Avenue and searching for Ramen Tatsunoya. You’ll know you’ve arrived when you see a striking tree centerpiece inside the restaurant. We visited for a later dinner on a Saturday evening an hour before they closed at 10pm and the restaurant was at full capacity. Thankfully we didn’t have to wait long and were seated quickly by their friendly staff. We started with the Crispy Spicy Chashu Wraps and the Housemade Gyoza. Both appetizers/side dishes really hit the spot. In fact, I enjoyed them more than I did the Spicy Miso Tonkotsu Ramen. The ramen broth was flavorful but a bit too rich for my liking and not spicy enough. It also would’ve been nice to have the option to customize the noodle set-up. I’ve had better ramen at a few other spots, but I still recommend Tatsunoya as a great comfort spot for ramen!
I came here on a Wednesday night and the place was packed. The line wrapped around the side of the shop. I thought the wait would be hell but my boyfriend and I didn't wait for more than 10 minut…
4.5 stars\nI have passed by this spot a few times and finally stopped in to try the ramen here. I ordered the Jun, which is a lighter pork tonkatsu broth, and found it to be perfectly flavorful for…

Disappointing; sadly this place is overhyped. It’s trending which I guess affects people’s palates. Not to be too harsh as some of their items were great but nothing exceptional with their claim to be a Traditional Ramen spot. I’ve had better Ramen made by Chinese and Korean chefs. Service 3 stars, Ramen noodles 2 stars, broth 3 stars, Gyoza 3 stars, chashu 4 stars. I didn’t experience “kando”. But for the price I suppose it’s decent. Not worth the long wait though (expect to wait 30 minutes to an hour when they’re busy).
This was a disappointing dining experience after reading all the hype. The broth was not smooth, with fat/collagen congealing in the bowl even before it made it to the table. It was over salted. The chasu was small and also over salted. And the egg is an additional $2. This is unfortunate as we were so looking forward to having quality ramen at a highly rated place. We might try it again but will likely stick to Silver Lake.
Skip the sushi roll.. it was mid! But the ramen was solid and did not disappoint. The chashu was yummy!
It was okay. I expected a little more flavor in the broth but I still finished my ramen. I got the koku tonkotsu. Vibe was nice and it was busy on a weekday late night.

Ordered through UberEats at 5pm and the estimated delivery was 6pm. It is now 7pm. Traditionally good food but this wait is a bit absurd
I visited this restaurant recently and was disappointed with my experience. I found a hair in my ramen (they did not provide me with the new dish instead just said “sorry”) , and the spoon provided was visibly dirty. Cleanliness is very important when it comes to dining, so this was concerning. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves their hygiene standards.
Just popped in and politely asked for parking validation at 11:30am on Friday because I was delivering a package to a neighbor of theirs and I wasn't sure whether the first 15 mins was free like a lot of parking garages. The Asian lady at the front entrance snapped "NO" and sneered at me. I was wearing an Amazon vest. I actually have been wanting to eat at this place, but given how they treat a random stranger, I won't be going there and will tell others to avoid.
