Opinions de Killen's BBQ Pearland
I’m giving this place 4 stars because the service was amazing. The brisket was OK. Their sides were also OK but there’s smoked wings were 100 out of a 10. Best item on their menu. Definitely give them a try.
I got there right when they opened and tried their beef rib, which I heard sells out fast — and it did not disappoint. The meat was incredibly juicy! For sides, I tried the cream cheese, the mac & cheese, and the mashed potatoes, and all were amazing. I didn’t get to try their BBQ sauce — I actually forgot — but everything I did have was absolutely delicious. It was my first time trying BBQ in Texas, and it was truly a memorable experience.
Been here a number of times already and just love the food. The quality is excellent and it's a must try if you're looking for good Texas bbq. Meat is soft and juicy! Portion size is ok, can always order more. Lines can get long but it moves fast enough. Seating inside and out. Despite the number of diners each time, parking hasn't been a problem. Brought some visitors from out of the country and they loved the food.
Great food, great menu. I appreciate the variety of offerings that you wouldn't often find, like brisket chili and brisket nachos. The sausage baked potato was the largest I've ever seen. My cousin who knows Texas BBQ well and has traveled the state in search of the very best BBQ loves Killens and introduced me to it.
I like nachos. Killen’s has what I consider S Tier nachos in the nacho ranking scale. If you like nachos, go here. Great value, fresh, lots of protein, fresh toppings, etc. I normally get a 3 meat plate with veggies but as of late, prefer nachos with 1-2 sides. You could probably share with a family as an appetizer but it’s great on its own. Hopefully it’s always in the menu, love it. Thank you
WOW! I’d heard so many good things about this BBQ spot in Pearland, so I finally had to try it for myself and it absolutely lived up to the hype! The meat was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. We added the potato salad and mac ’n’ cheese on the side, and let me tell you… both were just as delicious. And the sauces? Definitely a big plus — they really elevate everything. If you’re in the area, this place is a must-try!
Like most BBQ places, the prices are high albeit not unreasonable for what you receive. Their beef rib is a real standout, tender and smoky in flavor. The brisket is also solid, well seasoned and soft. The sides are also stronger, and more varied, than your average Texas BBQ joint, with the collard greens being a standout
Killen’s BBQ delivers a solid Houston barbecue experience. The brisket sandwich was outstanding, with the perfect balance of lean and fatty cuts that melted together in every bite. The sweet BBQ sauce complemented the meat without overpowering it, adding just the right touch. The mac and cheese was rich and gooey, offering real comfort-food vibes, while the beans packed a nice, flavorful kick. From start to finish, it’s clear Killen’s takes pride in quality. Definitely one of the finer BBQ options Houston has to offer.
Absolutely phenomenal! I was visiting Houston for a concert and wanted to try something new and I’m sure glad I chose Killen’s. I have never seen an actual full service dine in BBQ where everyone was so friendly and working so hard to provide exceptional service. My girlfriend and I got a 3 meat plate to try everything which included brisket, turkey, and the pork ribs. Every single meat was tender, flavorful and juicy. We also ordered the Mac and cheese and pinto beans and they both completely surpassed our expectations. A HUGE shoutout to Josie! She was quick and attentive and also explained any out of stocks they had. As well as recommendations. This is now going to be our go to spot in Houston for BBQ!
Killen’s delivers on every promise of authentic Texas barbecue. The brisket is excellent—smoky, tender, and deeply flavorful. The pulled pork is absolutely outstanding, a standout item that alone is worth the visit. Ribs and sausage both hit high marks, rounding out a well-executed meat lineup. The house barbecue sauces are remarkable, elevating each bite with bold and balanced flavors. Beverage offerings include a curated selection of local draft beers and wine, which pairs nicely with the menu. Service is set up counter-style: order your meats, pay at the register, and then settle into either the comfortable indoor seating or the shaded outdoor area. The atmosphere is casual, welcoming, and distinctly Texan. In short: if you’re looking for world-class barbecue in Pearland, Killen’s is a must. A flawless experience from start to finish.
We stopped by Killen’s BBQ yesterday and tried the ribs and pulled pork sandwich. The portions aren’t huge, but the flavor makes up for it, definitely some of the best-tasting barbecue around. The ribs were tender, and the pulled pork was full of smoky flavor. I like to mix the sweet and tangy BBQ sauces together, which was a winning combo, but I wasn’t a fan of the coffee BBQ sauce. For dessert, we tried the banana pudding. At $8, it felt overpriced and didn’t quite live up to the rest of the meal. The main drawback for me was the dining experience. The seating area inside wasn’t anything special, so we chose to eat outside. Unfortunately, the outdoor tables were a little dirty, which brought down the overall experience. Killen’s BBQ nails the food, no question—it’s some of the best-tasting BBQ you’ll find. But the environment and dessert fell short.
Food was Great 😋 got 3 meats platter (brisket, ribs, sausage) they were all delicious very juicy and tasty. Sides (mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and collard greens) mashed potato was good loved it, Brussels sprout a little bit too toasted/roasted for me., the collard greens now those were the reason I went to eat brisket (Bbq) way to salty, sour! Not for Me! Cheesecake was delicious highly recommend. Brisket Quesadillas wow, was delicious beans and rice good taste also. Friendly Atmosphere, clean and spacious available seating. Just keep in mind go early I went lunch hour 1pm. did have to wait a while in line about 30 min. to go in it was very busy. What I really liked was that Latin people (bilingual cooks) my husband was able to speak Spanish lol. Usually it’s me doing all the talking for both when ordering! He loved it. Great customer service.
Probably some of the best bbq I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Parking is a bit small, but they do offer additional parking behind the building. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very classy, with flowers decorating each table setting, it almost felt as if we were under dressed, but it was still casual and welcoming. They have three different signature bbq sauces on each table, coffee, tangy, and sweet. My family and I ordered multiple dishes and side dishes, ranging from the two meat plates, the nachos, and one kids chicken tender plate. The brisket was juicy, tender, and packed with smokey flavor. Absolutely delicious without bbq sauce. The pork ribs were perfectly cooked, smoked, and while a little on the tougher side, it was still phenomenal. The sausage was a bit spicy, but good nonetheless. The brisket nachos were fulfilling, packed with meat, loaded, the queso made the chips soggy fast, but was still delicious. Even the kids chicken tenders were crisp and delicious. Each meat plate came with pickles, pickled onions, jalapeno, and two sides. White bread was offered on request. The cream corn was creamy, rich, deliciously buttered and flavorful. The mashed potatoes were smooth, gravy delicious and not too peppery for white gravy. The macaroni and cheese is not the Kraft kind, but made in house and cheesy, big macaroni noodles, and one of the best Ive ever had. The potato salad was okay, while it was still good, it was a little on the sour side. Dessert was of course ordered at the end and the creme brulee cheesecake is to die for. The sugar layer on top was carmelized and had that perfect crack when broken through with a spoon and the cheesecake itself was smooth and velvety. The pecan pie was a little more on the crumbly side, as the pecans fell apart, rather than stuck together, but it was still delicious and sweet. A delicious bbq place, worth the drive, as we were staying in inner Houston. Huge recommend.
Food was really good, you could tell the amount of time and dedication put into the preparation. Our server, Fatima, was amazing at explaining everything to us. The pork ribs were my favorite, it didn’t even need any sauce! Be sure to make a reservation, especially if you plan to go for dinner. The only annoying thing was the amount of flies bothering us throughout our meal inside the restaurant. Otherwise, this place is worth the hype!
We love Killen's barbecue and order quite often. But today there was a minor error with our order and I came back up to the restaurant and they made it right. They even threw in a free desert!

I love the brisket and brussels sprouts! Tenderness of the brisket is perfect, and the sprouts are crunchy with great flavor. The portions are generous to help validate the prices.
Good BBQ spot. Service and atmosphere: Located in the outskirts of Houston. The restaurant is big, clean, and well organised. They offer outside seating area. They also offer dinner service which includes slightly different menu and full table service. Food and drinks: Good and traditional selection of BBQ items. I chose brisket and turkey. Brisket was good but not as juicy as expected. Turkey was pretty good. I really enjoyed collard greens. Beers and soft drinks as beverages selection. Pricing: $$
Review: Solid Smoke from a Texas Monthly Top 100 Winner This family-style barbecue joint, which boasts the prestigious title of a "Texas Monthly Top 100 BBQ awards” winner, offers a relaxed, sit-down dining experience with plenty of seating. While reservations are available, the ample space suggests walk-ins are welcome. The overall impression is that this is a spot delivering a consistent, reliable BBQ experience—good, but perhaps not the groundbreaking culinary journey some might expect from a Top 100 contender. The Meats: Hits, Standards, and Surprises The Brisket delivered a nice, assertive smoke flavor and a satisfyingly crusty salt and pepper bark. The only minor flaw was a texture that edged toward mushy, but overall, it was a respectable slice. The standard Ribs were exactly what most people look for: fall-off-the-bone tender with a good bit of chew and a standard, appealing glaze. They were a pretty standard offering. For the Sausage, we sampled the basic double-grind beef, as the popular jalapeño and cheese option was unfortunately sold out. It featured a great snap to the casing and a mild, pleasant pepper flavor—a good, basic sausage. The undisputed champion of the meal, however, was the Brisket Burnt Ends. These were a highlight, featuring an excellent crunch on the bark and incredibly tasty, fatty pork flavor, perfectly balanced by a sweet honey glaze. They are a must-try. Finally, we tried the French Toast Brisket Sandwich. This item is certainly polarizing. While the sugary, churro-like combination of sweet bread and savory brisket didn’t win me over personally, my partner thoroughly enjoyed it, and it proved sturdy enough to take home for a second meal. The Sides: Room for Elevation While the meats were reliably good, the sides were consistently characterized as standard and in need of elevation. The Creamed Corn, while tasty, was fairly standard and could benefit greatly from additional seasoning to make it stand out. Similarly, the Broccoli Cheese Casserole and Mac and Cheese both delivered standard, acceptable flavors but were ultimately bland. Neither side offered the spicy kick or unique twist that would elevate them above their competitors. They taste okay, but they won't be the reason you remember the meal. The Verdict This restaurant is an excellent destination if you are looking for a reliable, family-friendly, everyday BBQ meal. It’s good, the portions are satisfying, and the service (sit-down ordering) is efficient. However, if you are seeking an adventurous culinary experience that stands out dramatically above the competition in the crowded Texas BBQ scene, this spot might not fully deliver. It’s a solid choice, but doesn't necessarily rise above its competitors.

The food is about as good as it’s been. But the quality of the meat cutter/ servers were terrible. I got a three meat platter and they gave me a single rib, would that mean if I got a one meat platter would they still give me a single rib? I ended up having to buy a half lb anyways. Anyways the brisket cuts terribly down half of the cuts were not a full cut down the brisket but rather just cuts that only included the fat cap. Just in terms of taste however I can recommend this spot, the Mac and cheese especially was quite good. The brisket when it was cut right was very good. The sausage quite underwhelming. Sadly there was no salad bar for onions. I can recommend this spot if you happen to be in the area

The restaurant was fairly busy which made me think it was going to be amazing. I’ve been to a lot of bbq joints and this was average. I did a three meat plate and the portions were fairly small.
First time there as a recommendation from a visiting family member from New York who learned of it on TikTok. We drove 40 minutes from West Houston. It's a very busy restaurant. Long lines.. I heard they move rather quickly. We had a 10-15 minute wait for a table of 4. I would recommend a reservation. The food was disappointing...small portions for the menu price. I ordered a baked potato and they were skimpy with the brisket and fixings. Others at the table made other remarks of disappointment with certain parts of their meal. The dining room was FREEZING!! It was already a chili evening for Houston so it made dining uncomfortable. The best part of the visit was our server, Julian, who was amazing. Unfortunately, we won't be back.
This place is disgusting and over hyped. Staff is rude and service was horrible. Don't waist your money going here.

As a native Texan, this was a horrible representation of Texas BBQ. And with how the food came out, it definitely wasn’t worth the price [$75]. And idk if it was because they were about to close or what that still shouldn’t have been a factor on the food. The brisket I received was super greasy, very fatty, and straight mushy. Almost disintegrated when touching it. The sausage was somehow overcooked on the inside, but skin was tough and undercooked. Turkey had no flavor and was straight bland only thing that was going for it was that it was that it was slightly moist. Collard greens were bland and tasted straight out of a can. Mac and cheese was bland, just pasta and cheese and noodles were overcooked. Ribs were okay I guess, but again for the price why was I given this small rib and the worst cut of rib. And the only reason I’m giving a star is because the Brussels sprouts were decent but still kinda greasy.
This place made me wait 45 mins for order. Said they would text when ready. I had to back inside to check on it. Then the brisket was full of fat. I went to return the entire order. They refused to refund the sides. 12 for sides. All I wanted was a refund for my order. Wasted 2 hrs doing this. Never again
First and last time wasting money at this place. Not sure why people say it's such a great place. The only good thing i can say is the brisket was tender and the burnt ends were good. I payd $60 and received 3 pieces of brisket (not even whole slices) and two ribs. The brisket was so small we confused it with the ribs(portions are ridiculously small) when my wife went to speak with the take out lady she laughed at my wife and said it was together with the ribs and if she would like to purchase more. Why would we want to purchase more?Other than that food is below average tried a couple sides the brussel sprouts, Mac and cheese, potato salad, and coleslaw. None of which were breath taking have had better at chain restaurants. There's plenty of better bbq options this place gets a lot of buzz I do not know why because it's probably one of the worst bbq restaurants we've ever been to.
