Lives up to Atera as its little sister wine bar. Serving up an extensive wine list and creative share dishes. Get everything from its starter list and skip most of the mains. My standouts and musts are the oysters, whipped foie, burrata with golden beets, fluke carpaccio, panna cottage, and chocolate crisp desserts. While the mains were well executed, they simply did not wow like the starters.

Intimate space, great food. The Comte with truffle, apple butter, and rye was a great way to start the meal — each of the flavors shone through without overpowering the others. Shrimp ravioli came with a very good broth. The highlight was the scallop rice; the rice was just the right amount of crispy, the scallops were rich, and the brothy sauce was delicious. Highly recommend. Miso chocolate bon bons were also great; not to sweet, with a hint of savoriness that paired very well with the dark chocolate. Service was friendly and knowledgeable.

One of the BEST experiences in NYC! Food is original, low-key ambiance, service is personal and amazing. I’ve been there a few times and always feel like going back.

Only stopped by because I had time to kill before my reservation at Atera. I was offered the Venison Tartare with a chicken skin chip. Absolutely delicious. The server was super helpful and attentive. She was aware not to serve anything filling and only offered things I would not be getting at the restaurant. I had a delightful time and would recommend it to anyone.

Farra is a hidden gem. The staff is very knowledgeable, kind, and personable. Cozy vibes, sophisticated food, and amazing wine selections. This place is elevated!!! I can’t wait to go back.

Highly recommended!!! Their wine menu is huge but the sommelier was really professional so definitely ask for recommendations! Food was also amazingly good!

Shocked this place isn’t talked about more but happy to have found this gem! Dishes were packed with flavor and very well done; small servings but great for tasting multiple dishes and sharing with another person. The intimate ambiance was impressive, and cool to see the chefs at work. Favorite dishes include the oysters, foie gras and hamachi crudo. Overall loved this place!

Excellent food! Sister restaurant to Atera (2 Michelin stars) but with an a la carte menu and thus more affordable. Went for outdoor dining in COVID and the food was outstanding! The outdoor setup (just on the sidewalk) left much to be desired, but I give restaurants leeway for adapting to Covid (especially beer the start of the reopening). Otherwise I had no complaints. Service was excellent! Some kind patron (and friend of the chef) sent my fiancée and I a bottle of champagne when he overheard it was our anniversary… that type of restaurant. Hope to go back and try out the indoor dining!

We’ve tried this place twice and love this place. Very cozy and love the open kitchen in-unit. Great wine selections and delicious food. Will definitely come back again

Wow! This place is perfection. They staff is so attentive and helpful. The food is so good and so special and the wine list is spectacular. They also have the most beautiful dishes and presentation. They did a great job of socially distancing the tables with little privet hedges so it felt intimate and special. I cannot wait to go back to this neighborhood gem. Favorites were the salmon tartare (mixed with crispy potato chips and served with nori),fois gras mousse (with tiny kumquats), and lobster ravioli in dashi (see gorgeous picture!).

Tasty. Our reviews had over 34 million views so far this year. We do not get paid we just love to eat and have fun. We really love Farra. one of the best WE GO OUT TO EAT 5 DAYS A WEEK FOR THE LAST 18 YEARS AND THIS IS IN A TIE AS OUR #2 RESTURANT WORLDWIDE (#1 IS THEIR SISTER RESTURANT ATERA). VERY SMALL PLACE WITH SEATS FOR JUST 12 PEOPLE SO GET A RESERVATION EARLY, MUST HAVES INCLUDE THE LOBSTER RAVIOLI SERVED IN A LIGHT AU JUS. SEE PHOTO OF IT IN A CIRCULAR PATTERN, SHE IS ITALTIAN AND SAID THE BURRATA WITH STRAWBERRIES WAS A NEW WAY TO SERVE IT, BUT IT WAS SUPER AWESOME. I HAD SALMON TARTARE AND IT WAS BEYONE LOVELY, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AND IT WAS SERVED WITH HOMEMADE POTATO CHIPS WHICH MADE IS SUPER GREAT. I HAD THE BRAISED DUCK WHICH WAS "VERY SUCCULENT" LIKE THEY SAID IN SEINFELD. IF YOU READ MY REVIEWS YOU KNOW I AM VERY HARD ON DESSERTS. IT IS HARD TO PLEASE ME. NOT THE CASE HERE, WE HAD ALL BOTH AND BOTH WERE 10 PLUS. THE SINGLE CHOCOLATE BALLS ON A SPOON WERE NOT TOO DARK CHOCOLATE AND NOT TOO MILK CHOCOLATE. SO GOOD WE HAD A SECOND ORDER. PINEAPPLE WITH COCONUT ICE CREAM AND CHOCOLATE AND SEASAME WAS A GREAT MIXTURE OF ITEMS AND WE HAD 2 ORDERS OF THAT AS WELL. THIS TIED FOR #1 WITH THE CAFE AT THE SAVOY HOTEL IN LONDON UNTIL WE WENT TO ATERA 3 DAYS LATER, BUT YOU CANNOT GO WRONG HERE AND IT IS ABOUT 70% CHEAPER THAN ATERA. WE CANNOT OVERSTATE HOW GREAT THIS PLACE IS. Check out all of our reviews. If we do not like it we do no review it so all of the ones you see are places that are fantastic. Follow us if you like. We had over 36 million views so far this year and we thank you for that. We don't get paid, we just love to eat. Be sure to click on "RobH" at the top of this review to see all of them and to follow us if you like good food and FUN. If we do a review it is because we love it.

This place is a definition of perfection: the food - amazing, the service - incredible, the selection of wine - exceptional! The whole time I was there I also adored how clean and organized everything is, i don’t know how you do it but keep doing it.

Small and super cute wine bar with delicious food which is perfect for a date night. The wines are great and the staff were very helpful in selecting glasses or bottles to suit our taste. The staff are very helpful with choosing wines from the huge selection. You can order by the glass, or half or full bottles. The food is great for sharing, we started off with the garlic bread basket, rye & comte cheese, foie gras (which is so creamy and fresh with pears on top), the salmon, and crudo. Definitely do not miss the shrimp ravioli which comes with a delicious broth, or the scallop with crispy rice! Dessert is also great, especially the raspberry!

E

Very nice wine selection, good suggestions for wine pairing. Most of the dishes are tapas style (small dishes), a little but salted if not pairing with wine (because all the dishes are design for wine pairing). Consider this place as a bar to hangout with friend will be very nice. Definitely the food shouldn’t expect taste like Michelle star restaurant.

Farra is such a gem! The food is creative, flavorful, and beautifully plated, and the wine list is incredible — full of unique and interesting options. The vibe is warm, modern, and intimate, perfect for a date night or a relaxed evening with friends. The staff are knowledgeable and make great recommendations. It’s the perfect mix of great food, great wine, and easygoing elegance.

Absolutely delish. Everything is done to perfection. Fabulous glasses, open kitchen, attentive service, food is very flavorful and interesting, smaller portions so you can try multiple things. Loved it. Such a good find. I’ve never had this level of culinary in a wine bar.

@lydieats 💕 Obsessed!! I love contemporary cooking, clean plating, modern vibes and Farra checks all my boxes 💯 This is now one of my fav spots in the city. Extensive wine list available by both glass and bottle, making it the perfect spot for any occasion. The ravioli is less like pasta and more like shrimp dumplings. It’s served in savory miso bouillon that makes it taste even more familiar. I wouldn’t order again bc it feels expensive for dumplings but I would still try on your first visit (it’s their signature). Salmon tartare is good but not too special and the nori wraps get kinda soggy so choose sth else. My must order is the rice bowl. Just stunning 👏 There are chunks of scallop hidden and bits of crispy rice mixed throughout, topped with trout roe. It is FULL of umami and the textures are super exciting. You get the pop of roe with the crunch of rice, layered together effortlessly. Highly recommend the chocolate tuile for dessert 😋 Layers of crunchy tuile with hazelnut and coffee flavored cream in between. The slight hints of bitterness brings out the sweetness perfectly.

Delicious! Highly recommend going with at least 2 friends so you can try multiple plates. The bread assortment with the butter was delicious. The burrata with the strawberries were so good and fresh. The lettuce was super simple, but then you get a cheesy surprise at the bottom, so good. The cauliflower was super tasty. The beef was also very good, but the duck took the cake! Great combinations of flavors, you might not want to share this one. We finished with both desserts, very tasty.

What a great find! If you're looking for a cozy date night spot, this is it. It's so intimate. Every dish was delicious, but my favorite was the ravioli in miso broth. For dessert, the raspberry mousse was excellent. Highly recommend this place!

Overall rating: 4.9 So I have been seeing this place everywhere on my tiktok last summer and have always had it on my list to try. Will I go again on my own? No. Will I go again if I happened to meet a lovely finance person who wants to stay in this area & has no idea where to go (because it was that expensive)? Yes. Yes, I will. However this place is so tiny, you have to sit inside to get the true experience. I went on a date and we were initially seated outside which were these terrible tiny huts & not the experience I wanted. I asked the host if it was at all possible to sit inside & fortunately he said yes, if I can finish before the next hour. Awesome. Done. This ravioli was shrimp instead of lobster & it was pretty good. It was not filling and every bite I took, I started to feel guilty on taking a date here 😅 This was $40 alone. Now, I knew what I was walking into. I can’t complain about this price. I’m not complaining. It’s flipping fine dining to the max. But I can feel guilty, a bit. Let 👏🏽 me 👏🏽 telll 👏🏽 you 👏🏽 thoughh. THIS DESSERT. Yooo. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. It’s a deconstructed tiramisu thing & it, was, everything. And it was $15! I am considering going back just for that when I’m in the mood. The taste, omg, I’m salivating as I write this. So effing good. If you can afford this place, you’re already doing well for yourself. This review means nothing to you 😅 If you know you can’t, but hey we all deserve something special- get this dessert asap. Also the service was 10/10. Not too hovering, didn’t disappear either. I think she was the bartender as well 🤔 She was so nice. Highly recommend for the dessert alone.

We dined at Farra during a later seating, and it immediately felt more like an intimate theater than a restaurant. The open kitchen is the stage, the chef at center, while the staff moves with precise, almost balletic rhythm. Watching the room flow was captivating in itself. The food was exceptional—each dish visually composed with clear intention. We started with a raw tuna preparation that delivered a refined balance of spice and texture. The standout of the evening was the ravioli, coiled elegantly in a comforting miso broth. The mild shrimp filling allowed the deep umami of the broth to shine, creating a dish that was both thoughtful and memorable. The duck showcased subtle asian influences, with a peanut layer and grapefruit providing a striking contrast of richness and brightness. Dessert was also visually pleasing and had a wonderful taste as well. Service elevated the experience even further. Sage and Heather were warm, approachable, and genuinely engaging, with an impressive grasp of the wine list and intuitive pairing recommendations. Some come to New York for Broadway—we come for food. Farra delivers a performance worth applauding: beautifully synchronized, expressive, and deeply satisfying from start to finish.

This is one of my go-to places for treating myself/others for the special occasions in life (birthday, anniversary, graduation, New Year’s, etc). They have access to Atera’s wine cellar which is obviously incredible. Some of the dishes can be a bit hit or miss but if you know what to get, it will never disappoint. In particular, the rice with scallops is one of the best bites in NYC. But what makes Farra Wine Bar the most special is its hospitality. The staff is so knowledgeable, warm and kind without being overbearing. Their sommelier Sage in particular is always there who is amazing and today we were served by Heather who was wonderful too. To go off on a tangent, I have been reflecting on AI and how eventually it will be able to improve on what humans can do in every field and industry. But where AI will never be able to surpass humans is hospitality - in tourism, hotels, restaurants, events, etc. Sometimes you need a reminder of what is truly unique and special about the human touch. Go and experience Farra if you want to understand what true hospitality is like!

We loved how cozy this wine bar was, especially when we walked here on a November night. Both the burrata and the comté cheese were flavorful and well-executed small plates. We shared the rice for mains. Even though it was a bit too rich for me, the texture was so nostalgic of the 锅巴 (Chinese crispy rice snacks) I loved. The apple elderflower mocktail was SUPER unique and memorable. Our server was super attentive and nice!

This is probably my favorite French wine bar / bistro in nyc so far. The small dishes are so good. Especially the oysters (Asian taste), very tasty, umami. The foie gras is also great. Not too fatty, not too salty. It is just perfect. Only the salmon tartar is not my taste. The vibe is also good and wine menu is so long.

Came here for dinner tonight and everything was a 10/10 - service, food, wine, ambience. The shrimp ravioli broth was amazing, as were the oysters, hash brown, schnitzel and raspberry dessert. Looking forward to coming back!

A small and cute boutique wine bar, yet serious about their wine, foods and service. 🌱 Lobster ravioli tastes surprisingly light and refreshing, with a unique presentation that can impress your company. 🌱 Scallop rice is pretty large bowl of rice, but extremely flavorful and umami with the egg yolk and broth mixed together, makes you want to take a one bite after another. 🌱 Golden beets burrata is refreshing, not too special but a good starter to activate your appetite. 🌱 Oyster is so good. It’s not huge oyster, but fresh and seasoned perfectly. Conclusion: 9/10, on the slightly expensive side, big wine choice, great for dates. Mini space so recommend to make a reservation, will come back again.

Food in general is great! I specifically love their FOIE GRAS MOUSSE with bread, and their scallop rice. This is the best FOIE GRAS MOUSSE I’ve ever had, and the rice is crispy. A good place for dating with good vibe and service. It’s pricy, but it’s worthy.

I had such a memorable dining experience at Farra. Tucked away in the Financial District, it strikes that rare balance between trendy and welcoming. The service was relaxed but attentive, and the space had a modern minimalism that felt both cool and cozy. The long lobster ravioli was beautifully done—almost unexpectedly comforting. The noodles were silky and had this subtle chew, and the shrimp was perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of spice and umami from what tasted like a house-made sauce. It was simple at first glance but layered and satisfying with every bite. Then came the scallop rice, which felt like an elevated twist on a comfort dish. Creamy, rich, and slightly crispy at the edges, it was the kind of plate you just want to keep to yourself. The egg yolk gave it an indulgent richness, and the seasoning was spot-on. The salmon tartare was another standout. Perfectly cooked—soft and tender in the center with a beautifully crisp exterior. The seaweed added a briny, earthy edge that complemented the fish without overpowering it. Every component felt purposeful. Farra isn’t trying to do too much—it does a few things really well, with creativity and subtle sophistication. A great spot for a date night or dinner with someone who appreciates thoughtful food in a calm, refined atmosphere.

Phenomenal! 🤤 Great wine selection 🍷 And the food is just perfect. Highly recommended for a date! Or even with friends that appreciate wine, Michelin food, and a beautiful simple space. More people should know about this place because it's freakin' awesome. It's this cozy, cute, classy wine bar with really great food and an awesome wine program. Staff was the perfect combination of welcoming, nice friendly and all the while professional. I loved every single bite - the hamachi crudo was amazing, potato rosti with caviar was perfection, but the pork belly really stole the show. Was surprised to see a Robert Sinskey cab by the glass in New York, but then again why would I be! Was able to enjoy a glass and have some of the food items. They’re small but made with love and finesse. They did have some veggie options, more vegan forward ones would be amazing. The indoor part is really nice.

Food was decent, I liked the burrata and chocolate bonbons the most. The braised duck leg was a bit disappointing, perhaps a bit too dry for my tastes. We ordered the foie gras but I think the order got messed up because we got the beef tartare instead (didn’t realize it until dinner was over). Wine selection was great and the sommelier knew exactly what to give my party based on our tastes. Service in general was great, I was so happy that they were able to accommodate my nut allergy (mentioned it in my reservation). Big shout out to Brandon for giving me and my friends such a welcoming experience!

This place was pretty impressive. It's a very small place, but they make it work. We had sufficient spacing that made for comfortable dining. Their foie gras with brioche was absolutely delicious. Their salmon tartare was tasty and unique with the potato chips contributing texturally. Their bread basket was good. The braised duck leg and the halibut ravioli were good but didn't impress. The duck, while tender, could've used something to cut the fat. The spice on it didn't do the job. I also wished that the mushrooms were crispy to help texturally. The raviolo was good but the filling wasn't as juicy as you'd normally expect; there was no.. umami. Overall a great place with good food and good service. I'd return to try their other menu items.

Good location, close to the Financial District. The vibe is relaxed and chill, with friendly staff and a welcoming crowd. The food looks nice and is solid, nothing mind-blowing, but decent (maybe I’m just picky after living in Japan). A good experience with friends.

Farra has a very good atmosphere that creates a nice setting. Unfortunately, the food and service were both just average and didn't match the inviting ambiance. Come for the vibe, but temper your expectations for the rest.

Good, but the price quality ratio was bad. The halibut - nice, but not spectacular - was 50 bucks and you don’t even get a carb with it. It's Michelin prices at a good quality, but not Michelin quality.

I was expecting to be blown away based on other reviews and thought the food was just okay. Presentation of oysters was nice but they were not cold enough The salmon tartare and ravioli were both creative and fun The duck leg had very little taste to the meat itself, it was a nice plate but the teriyaki style sauce was bland Service was friendly enough, all in all as another reviewer said if your expectations are it's a bar with food you'll probably leave happy but if you're expecting a great restaurant will be disappointed

Food was really great, waitress also super friendly, but I wish I knew their kitchen is right in the small space of the dining area. For someone who’s super sensitive to smokes and smells, I was struggling to keep my eyes open as the cooking smoke was irritating them, and got home with cooking smells in my hair and clothes that I had to take another wash to just get rid of

The wine list was great, but the food disappoints. I just felt like some dishes could use more creativity, like pork chops and fried rice. Fried rice was way too salty with the glug of soy sauce on the bottom; pork chops were a little too skewed to the sweet note. The aforementioned can be found better in nearby Chinatown or Ktown. I would genuinely appreciate a lighter topping for the oysters because the jalapeño and cucumber combo was a little overwhelming. Desserts were a letdown as well. The rhubarb yoghurt had a very strong fridge taste, and the waffles were really mediocre... and you could find better waffles in town. However, I do love the squid noodles and cauliflower. Do order these two to go with your wine.

The good: the rice scallop meal, burrata. Atmosphere and vibe are great. Great presentation. The OK: the schnitzel, bread, salmon tartare The bad: the ravioli The service was unfortunately pretty rude. I had my family in town and thought this would be a good place to take them. We don’t drink, and felt like the waitress treated us worse for it. It’s a pretty expensive place so I was expecting better service. Not fine-dining quality service. All in all, for such an expensive restaurant, I was expecting to be blown away by the food and service. Unfortunately I was not. I hope they can improve.

This was absolutely the WORST experience. I love the food here, but I couldn’t enjoy it because our corner was as cold as a fridge. The AC was blowing directly at us, and the server said they couldn't turn it down because the kitchen needed cooling. Please inform your customers that they need to wear a Canada Goose if they reserve a 'Window Counter' seat.
