Opinions de Le Pain Quotidien West Broadway
Quality of service is great. The staff there have been very helpful and friendly the few times I have been there. If you enjoy quality ingredients and healthy food that fills you without stuffing you, then this is a great place to eat at or grab something to go. The Pastries are absolutely delicious and so is the coffee. Plus the tea is served in generously large amounts if you sit in. The only downsides I can think of are a lack of outlets to charge your electronics, and their menu items may be a bit pricy for some; however, many of the coffee shops in the area that offer similar items can be a bit pricier and not as good.
Cappuccinos here are affordable and fresh, ideal place for the future.
I am a regular at this LPQ. The staff is warm, responsive, kind, and ALWAYS remembers my order! Healthy food in a warm ambience, absolutely my favorite! <3 Will recommend this to everyone looking to lunch in Downtown.
Excellent chocolate cookie, almost a brownie! Good coffee latte. Spacious with comfortable wooden tables.
The service is wonderful. The food is good, but small portions for the price paid. Nice ambiance and good location for parking and near by public transportation. The teas are amazing and brought to the table as self serve as well as the coffee which I particularly enjoyed the most. Def a recommend
Good quality European level coffee. Helpful staff and very nice pastry .
Le Pain is undoubtedly my favorite cafe; not only does it boast exceptional food, but the warmth and approachability of the staff, especially Rashid, truly elevate the experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment. ❤️🤩
Set in a fantastic location ,you can see that the food is made out of quality organic products with many different offerings prepared in a healthy but delicious manner. I tried skillet eggs and found the portion to be small though for the price. But the icing on the cake is the customer service on offer which is awesome. Would definitely come back again.
I'm having a great time at the communal table. Bob Mover and his daughter Anya are at the big table with his friend. It's friendly here. Staff are nice. My salad was very delicious! The zucchini pad Thai salad. Yummy. I like all the Windows all around and a nice hangout atmosphere on a Friday afternoon
The service and atmosphere were great. The server, Juana was very pleasant, it is one of my favorite places to eat in Tribeca.
Excellent staff. Great service. Will come back for the amazing staff. Exceptionally great service from the black guy with the dreadlocks and cap. Please recognize all of the staff members amazing service. If it helps, my visit was on Aug 6, 2022 some time between 12-3pm. Edit on Dec 2022: There was an issue but Marian (Marion?) was so amazing with resolving the issue. I know from previous experience the staff was amazing. After this, they are truly exceptionally great staff members. I am so appreciative of the customer service all the team members give (including the two members who helped me before Marian). I don’t think another place has even reached their level of amazingness. I’ve been coming to this specific location about half a year regularly. I will definitely come back to this location. This staff/location is still my favorite bakery. Edit Jan 2023: Store was closed today so went to another location near the World Trade Center. Near WTC le pain staff was not friendly. I’ve been to 4 le pain locations in NYC so far and this one is still the best in terms of customer service. The other one near Bryant Park is standard service (so I go there too), but the location near K-town was the worst. Now it feels like if I want good service, I come to this location. If I want to gamble on service, I go to another location. Whatever staff and management is doing here is amazing.
The Belgian waffle here is amazing. It’s toasty and the perfect amount of sweet. We also had the ginger apple cider which was really good! Overall a good experience and will definitely come back!
I literally travel from Brooklyn to this location because the customer service is unbeatable!.. from the cashier to management.. very sweet folks! I love the bakery items from this chain restaurant.. they are EXCELLENT ..they keep my french husband from getting homesick .. unfortunately the customer service across the stores in the city is wavering.. except for this location! ❤️
Delicious, simple and clear. Recommend the grain bowl with roasted chicken for lunch. Lovely spot
I have been eating at these establishments around the city for years. All of them have good, fresh and healthy food. Today, I had the avocado toast with smoked salmon and gazpacho soup. They say the gazpacho soup is new however, I remember them having this in the past and it has always been delicious. The decor is fabulous, spread out, pleasing environment, good lighting and soft music. As you can tell I am a big fan. I just edited my past review. The one issue I had was the service was too slow. Not anymore. The West Broadway location now has fast, efficient and friendly service. If possible, I would give over five stars!
The manager at this location is beyond lovely. Always has a smile on his face, very helpful, and it's clear his team members feel the same from watching them interact on the daily. Just wanted to give him a shoutout for always making my day :)
I stopped by for the first time today and it was the best customer service. The cashiers Jojo and Gianna welcomed me as soon as I walked in and they were so quick to give me my pastries and my drink. 10/10 would definitely recommend if you’re in the neighborhood!
Breakfast flat bread was stunning, huge BOWL of coffee was delicious and staff were superb, from the UK and food and service definitely a highlight, thank you
Nice fresh breakfast, great service.
We come here every Saturday for breakfast. Kiara makes us feel so welcome every time. Always in a great mood, smiling and singing. SHE is genuinely the reason we come do regularly. Unfortunately, two weeks ago, on a very busy morning - we had the misfortune to come across her boss (very surly, rolls her eyes, everything is a problem). The manager didn’t express any form of enthusiasm with customers from what we observed.LPQ Tribeca don’t let the good be under appreciated!!!!
Rachid recommended the Scrambled Eggs & Gruyère Croissant Sandwich to me and it was delicious.
Lovely place and a Tribeca stalwart. So happy this place survived the company's reorganization. Always great food, pastries and drinks. Service can sometimes be up and down, but the bottom line is it's a great place to enjoy lunch, breakfast or a cup of coffee. Wanted to write an update. As I mentioned before the service can be spotty but today one waitress was doing an amazing job. Fast courteous service. This waiter is a real gem.
If you are looking for a place to enter and sit down to work with the computer while having an amazing breakfast surrounded by nice people and really good coffee, look no further. Not only I am a fan of “Le Pain Quotidien” but this branch is my favorite for sure. I had the “Sunny Side Breakfast Bowl” and let me tell you it changed my morning! It was an amazing way to start it. Everything was delicious the coffee was great and they will give you a refill if you ask for it.
Had a great experience. I went with my parents and was served by Al Amin. He ensured we got everything to our liking from very hot coffee to our breakfast options. The food was very fresh and the entire restaurant had a great French vibe.
This is a true frech restaurant in NYC. The waiters spoke fresh the food was delicious. Thank you for having us on our stop to Africa.
Had the avocado toast. It’s good. The seasoning is a little bit different in that they use cumin which pairs well with avocado. It looks a bit plain and unexciting compared to how others do avocado toast. They like to spread a thin layer of avocado spread and then top with sliced avocado. It’s makes for a less messy eating. If you’re looking for something light but filling I recommend the avocado toast.
Le Pain Quotidien is a cozy, casual café and bakery that feels like a little European escape right in NYC. The focus here is on simple, wholesome food — think freshly baked organic bread, tartines (open-faced sandwiches), soups, salads, coffee, and pastries — all made with quality ingredients and lots of vegetarian/vegan options. I popped in for a late breakfast and loved the relaxed, communal vibe with long wooden tables and lots of natural light. My coffee and pastry were nice and comforting, and the tartine I ordered was fresh and flavorful without being too heavy. It’s a great spot for a chill brunch or midday coffee break. That said, service can be a bit slow during busy times, and it’s a bit pricier compared to some other cafés, with mixed feedback from other diners about consistency. Overall, if you’re in the mood for a healthy, laid-back café meal with European flair, Le Pain Quotidien is worth a stop.
Beautiful and cozy spot for breakfast or brunch in the city! Le Pain Quotidien has a warm, rustic atmosphere that feels both relaxing and stylish. The organic breads and pastries are fresh, flavorful, and perfectly baked. I especially loved the croissants and the avocado toast — simple but delicious. The service was friendly and efficient, and the space is very clean and comfortable for dining in. Great place to meet friends, work on a laptop, or enjoy a quiet meal. Prices match the quality and location. Definitely a place I will return to!
I stopped by here recently and grabbed a coffee and a chocolate croissant. The service here was friendly and pleasant. I love trying new coffee shops and to my knowledge this brand has at least 7 locations throughout NYC. I certainly will stop by here again the next time I'm in the Tribeca neighborhood.
friendly service the Spanish waiter and her daughter made my day ❤️. Le Pain Quotidien at the intersection of West Broadway and Warren Street stands out as a refined retreat in the civic core of Lower Manhattan. Just one block from City Hall Park, the NYC Municipal Building, and the New York City Council chambers, it sits at the nexus of government, commerce, and community life. The café is steps away from major subway lines, including the 1, 2, 3, A, C, E, R, and W trains, making it one of the most conveniently located spots for downtown meetings, coffee breaks, or focused work sessions. The space offers more than proximity—it delivers atmosphere. The scent of freshly baked croissants, tarts, and espresso greets you before you reach the door. Inside, warm wood tones and natural lighting soften the city’s intensity, creating a setting that balances utility and comfort. It’s a known haunt of local officials and city staff, many of whom stop in for a quick espresso or a quiet moment between sessions. During a recent visit with my service dog Brooklyn Meeko, I was welcomed by Juana and the team with their usual grace and precision. Juana’s espresso remains unmatched—deeply aromatic, technically clean, and served with care. The pastries are textbook-perfect: croissants with a crisp shell and tender interior, tarts layered with balanced acidity and sweetness. This café functions as both a public refuge and a civic lounge—where elected officials, neighborhood regulars, and visitors coexist over expertly crafted food and drink. 10:54 PM hanging out with my friend Meeko the Bernadoodle he is a 2 year old male, who loves to say hello to pretty girls. I’m getting an espresso maybe avo toast for brunch. Then we will pick up woody the Catahoula Male 7 year old. From there we will probably be going to the dog pool at Sirius Back with Woody Juana is not here 🥺
great LPQ! there's a lack of staff but the people who do work here were so nice, attentive, and the food came quickly! everything was absolutely delicious, i especially recommend the all of the soups, the ancient grain bowl, and the cauliflower and cheddar frittata! it was the perfect place to have a good meal with family :)
Excellent assortment of breads. The soup of the day was minestrone and it was really good. Loads of space- we visited this place on Saturday at about 12 pm and there was a lot of free tables. There is a wide range of jams, chocolate spreads, olive oils and other toppings. I expected more from the cinnamon croissant, but other than that everything was good. Friendly staff. You can see that the food is made out of good quality products. Good food stop in lower Manhattan.
Ordered a few Arnold Palmers to beat the heat , and a few treats. The “Crookie” was fascinating but very sweet , but the Almond croissant was very nicely balanced. Great eating options and a nice and open space. Staff was friendly and open to making suggestions.
Nice busy, local place. Food was simple and tasty.. Wait staff efficient and friendly. We speak Spanish and everyone was bilingual. We sat outside in one of the three tables. We put our name on the waitlist on line, so that when we arrived, we only waited a few minutes. The normal wait was 20min at this time.
Nice spot for breakfast or brunch! Lots of choice, whether that be fresh pastries, as it’s a bakery, or other items. The cheese danish was very flaky and tasty, and the different dishes felt very fresh. Coffee was good, and service was excellent. The atmosphere is very cozy! For a chain, it’s pretty good!
Le Pain Quotidien is a good French Bakery. They have an assortment of pastries and a variety of menu options. The corner location provides ample opportunities to people watch. The interior atmosphere and wood decor is pleasant. The wait staff was fairly attentative. The food was more of an American take on French dishes.
I love this place. My only complaint is sometimes, loud popular music is playing and I wish they would play folk, French, jazz, or anything unique really, that isn’t a repeat of every other typical American coffee shop. Ambience is everything. Also, the lights are a little bright so neurodivergent people can’t stay as long a they’d like. Oh, and when you get a little salad on the side of something it comes with no oil or vinegar, so it’s just dry greens. Staff is excellent. They make you feel like they want you there.
The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, making me feel welcome right away. I ordered a matcha latte with almond milk and an avocado toast. The avocado was wonderfully fresh, though the bread was a bit on the stiff side. On the other hand, the croissants were fresh, flaky, and absolutely delicious. Overall, it was a great experience.
This was a cute little place I had to suck into for a meeting when I didn't have wifi available. The things is, THEY DIDN'T HAVE WI-FI EITHER! 😂 Anyhow, I ended up using my phone as a hotspot and stayed because it was nice and relatively convenient. It's a Bit noisy with clinking glasses and plates, etc. but also really pretty inside. The staff was very nice and sorry the wifi didn't work. Plenty of cool seats And table options. Vibe is #aight.
They only have a little box oven to cook eggs so sunny side only. Get a griddle. Not everyone enjoys sunny side. Staff were great. Did not get breakfast. Went to deli on chambers and church. Half the price and you get a choice
Usually so solid but very slow and it was not that busy. Also they over charged on bill which took time to fix.
Controversial place, dirty tables, no one welcomes you at entrance, no water offers while waiting order. Just weird place, food not bad though, but I ordered sunny side eggs salad or something like that and it was only one tiny egg :/ my rate is 3,5
Got a grab n go dish and an Americano and sat at the large community table. Barista had and attitude especially when I asked for more oat milk in my espresso - think he used almond milk by mistake and then redid the drink with oat milk - good thing - I’m allergic to almonds. I go to this chain only because it’s organic but the food is hit or miss. Brewed coffee is meh, but espresso a bit better. If you want a real good espresso or brewed coffee, I recommend going to a hipster coffee shop for a better brew - same expensive price, but better tasting.
Pain Q have closed in the UK so I thought of giving it a try in NY as it is close to Natural History museum. We visited on the 21st in the afternoon. They had a young waitress who was very rude and asked me to order at the till even though we wanted to sit down. The staff at till then sent me back to the seating area. From there on the service was very unprofessional albeit the quality of food was good. I was given two spoons to eat a croissant instead of a fork and a knife! The rest of the staff were friendly and polite. They need to train young professionals who bring a bad rep to the entire establishment.
Always liked this chain, but the surprise add-on to the bill isn’t cool. We left a decent tip but I guess it wasn’t enough(?).
The quality is good. The prices seem low, but the portions are manageable. The service is miserable! An example: when serving, the waitress grasps the drinking bowl with all her fingers at the top edge. Always, but especially in times of the falling/increasing pandemic, an absolute misdeed.
They removed 3 of their best 4 items on their menu.... those items were also vegan or gluten free... Please bring back the banh mi sandwich, the ancient grain bowl and the muhamara sandwich! Old review: Great spot. Awesome food, very tasty and healthy. Great vibe for breakfast/lunch.
This branch is different than the westcoast branches in LA as they dont serve omeletts here so it was a waist of time going there!
The cold brew was a little sour, not as smooth as I expected with the price point at 7 dollars for a large. The staff did not know whether they had liquid sugar or not (which is weird seeing as they work there). Most of the seats are for dine-in except for a large center table, but this was confusing because there were no signs or indications that suggested the layout. The staff had to keep moving people out of dine-in tables. And about the staff: they were very weird. Nobody was smiling, everyone was busy chatting with each other and talking about their shifts and breaks, and the manager was quite rude and impatient. This was especially the case when I went to get the Wifi password and the manager spat it out quickly and then said "can you just go ask one of the cashiers?" as if he wasn't capable of entertaining me for another five seconds. Find another shop for better coffee.
I've been visiting this place for a few days now because I like the food, but the heat in this store is infernal. I don't know how the employees can endure their entire shift; the heat is unbearable. I initially thought it was a one-day problem and would be resolved, but I've been back several times and it's the same situation. Please fix this because it's inhumane to remain in such high temperatures in an enclosed space.
Honestly, it’s overpriced, but the food is good so I understand. What I don’t understand is why the workers here are so rude. Average breakfast is $20+ I average about $30 an order (AND I ORDER MAYBE 2x a day) and you WOULD THINK that they would MAYBE take that into consideration when talking to you or treating you in a certain matter. Today I asked to get a plate for a pastry (trying to be nice and not waste a box) and they really made a big deal out of it. When has washing One plate become such a crime? Honestly very tedious, but maybe this is my golden opportunity to stop valuing the food more than the customer service. Good riddance.
Dined here for the first time which originally was going to be a quick coffee run. We were greeted and we took the menu at the counter. We assumed it was one for just coffee drinks but as we kept looking at the menu we came across some good food choices. We decided to order the coffees as they were “to go” because it would allow us to take the coffee when we were done eating. Then we were asked if we were looking to dine in because there was a different menu. Honestly the only difference I saw was some prices were slightly more on the dine in menu. We grabbed our coffees and told them that we will look over the menu and if it were okay to sit out to dine in. We were told yes. It was too cold outside so we decided to come in. We were already waiting for 10 mins outside. We come inside and ask if it’s okay to just sit inside so we can dine in and we were told yes. We wait another 15-20 mins. At this point a family comes in after us and the waiter is taking care of them. I approached one of the waiters and asked if there was only one employee serving everyone. I was told no and that they thought we were just sitting enjoying our coffee. If you asked us at the very beginning if we were dining in why would you assume we were just having coffee? We finally get to order our food which was good but it wasn’t communicated that there was no whip cream that day. The skillet eggs with bacon I expected to have actual slices of bacon not pieces. You’re paying $15 almost for two eggs and maybe one slice of bacon that’s cut into pieces. I enjoyed it but it wasn’t what I expected. The lack of communication and misunderstanding was terrible. It took away from a nice early morning breakfast. I recommend this place if you would like to grab and go. It could just be the location but the nicest, friendliest person that was efficient was the lady making our coffees.
Very disappointed. My wife and I like to come to Broadway sometimes. We want to go to a nice place, listen to soft songs, nice coffee, authentic pastries! We had been here before, but boy this time was a so bad, we just wanted to leave immediately! bottom-line, they have upper section, where customers like to sit there up nice to enjoy the view and be away from the children noise downstairs, the section was closed with no reason (the waiters claimed the manager closed it at 3:30PM!!) no music or any soft music (which this place known for their French theme); coffee was COLD, no cream! Not worth it to go there again! I would not recommend it. Bad service.
Absolutely terrible. I just had a bag of pastries prepared for me & already paid. I was picking up breakfast for tomorrow, ahead of all day funeral ceremonies. My friend wanted me to pick up a gift card for her (she works long, late hours & I was doing her a favor to save time) to load money on online to give as a gift to someone else. The manager(?) refused to understand that my friend wanted to add money to the card online AND have the physical card as part of the gift to give a third person. This turned into a FRUSTRATING 10 minute debate holding up the entire line. 🙄🙄🙄🙄 I only needed ONE empty card. If your store wants to hoard empty gift cards like gold bars, maybe don't leave them out in a pile non the counter. I'm telling my friend to spend her gift money elsewhere. I used to be a fan of this chain. Finally, I bring my food & drink to the dining room that is less than 1/4 full, with 40 minutes until closing. I set down my bag, take off multiple layers of winter layers, etc. Only after I'm completely settled in, am I told to move to the communal table. Maybe ask me BEFORE I'm at a table so I am not juggling everything to another spot????
The avocado toast looks pretty but tastes so bland. Even my own avocado toast seasoned with salt tastes better. The waitress told me the fruit bowl contain strawberries, mangoes, blueberries, pineapples. She brought me a fruit bowl with 1 piece of mango and 1 strawberry cut into 4 quarter pieces. How disappointing. The rest of the bowl was filled with honeydew melon, something I did not want and did not request. Paid $7 for that. The Belgium waffle and chocolate croissant was so mediocre. The waffle is just bread and crystallized sugar which was extremely crunchy when I was trying to enjoy the waffle. The chocolate croissant was so DRY. Never again.
Worst service I ever had. I order a sandwich and beverage to take out for lunch. I stand around about over 25 min and still no sandwich. It wasn’t busy at all. I ask about 4 people working there that I had to go and like to cancel my order. First person I asked went to the kitchen and never came to talk to me. The lady took my order just hand signaling me to wait. Next person I asked for refund also went to kitchen then other person also waving me to wait. I had a class to teach and there was no more time to wait I did not get my refund and just left. Then the kitchen staff member came after me to hand the sandwich. It was nice of her but I was so late to and did not have to time to eat anymore so I had to through away the sandwich since I never had time till the evening.
Staff was terrible! The place was dirty and they gave me the wrong pastry even though she knew to charge me for the item I originally wanted.
Terrible service. Rude. Which I hate to have experienced because I love this place.
Did not have a good experience. The seating arrangement here is just bizarre. I walked in, ordered a muffin and sat at a table but almost immediately, I was asked to move to a different table with no explanation. There were no signs explaining their unnecessarily complex seating system and the staff person who asked me to move provided no explanation and was quite rude and impatient. This was especially strange since the place was pretty empty and several tables were available. I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable and quickly left. I got a vegan muffin which was alright but everything is expensive and it's definitely not worth it. There are several other good cafes and restaurants in the area, save your time and money and avoid this spot!
Takeout if you must- atmosphere was trash. Capp with oat milk was awful. Cheese Danish was good, no offer to heat if there was an option. There’s booth seating around perimeter and a long table and chairs in center- after purchase at around 10a, with just a few patrons in shop, and no signs that I could see, was told I couldn’t sit without a reservation at any booth. No offer to give reservation… very unwelcoming. $30 for unhappiness… Should have gone to the diner down the street or got my regular Dunkin after maybe getting a piece of French bread from here beforehand (they have no meat 🙄)
Service wasn’t very good and food and drinks arrived at the table cold.
Terrible service. All the staff looked like everyone owe them money. They never cared to explain how things work in their store, and hushed my kid away from seating area while I was waiting for my order. Just don't tip them, otherwise you'd regret.
Don't expect a seat unless you order food. A drink order will not give you the privilege of a seat and table. Unless you have a laptop and are working. Would not recommend. Got our order wrong (2 drinks) and not friendly.
They sell out of many items before noon. Without question the laziest kitchen of and most inconsiderate staff I’ve encountered at any Le Pan location
Absolutely disgusting in here. $5 for a plastic cup full of ice and 2ml of iced tea. Place was filthy and nearly empty. We found a somewhat decent table to have our Drinks and were told we had to move because people who only have drinks can only sit at a communal table in the middle of the cafe. Never again. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!
Very slow. Force you to buy food if you want to sit on a sofa - the sofa was free but they still forced me to change sit even with my small daughter. And forgot my order
This was my first day in New York, and I honestly did not expect to be treated like this. My friend and I bought several pastries and sat down to eat them. We had been sitting for less than five minutes when a woman, who seemed to be the manager, stood behind us and yelled that this was a dining area and that we couldn’t sit there. We said okay and started looking at the menu since it was already dinner time. Not even 30 seconds later, she came back and loudly said, “Are you guys good?” in a very impatient and aggressive way, clearly trying to kick us out. I told her we were still looking at the menu. No normal person can finish reading a menu in 30 seconds. She rolled her eyes at me, said nothing, and walked away. The people sitting next to us looked just as shocked as we were. They had also bought pastries and were sitting there, but they weren’t treated the same way. As the only Asian customers in that area, this made me feel extremely uncomfortable. At that point, I decided to leave. As I walked past her, I said, “If you want to talk to customers, you should have a nicer attitude.” She didn’t respond, didn’t look at us, and just turned her back. I was really upset by this experience. I spent money here and still got shouted at and rushed out. I was filming a vlog at the time, so I recorded the store name. After she noticed I was filming, she whispered to other staff members and then disappeared. The attitude here was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. I would not recommend this place unless the staff learns how to treat customers properly. If this is not addressed or apologized for, I’m prepared to share the full video. The incident can also be confirmed through security cameras.
Came In with high hopes assuming the negative reviews were just people being picky because the food looked good but I was unfortunately wrong. When we walked in there was no greeting just odd looks from staff before they just pointed to a table, After we sat it took 10 minutes to even get a menu and our server didn't even ask if we wanted drinks just dropped off the menus, As for the food...It was way overpriced for what it was, Me and my wife order The turkey bacon toast, ( The bread felt stale like it had been toasted then left out and the avocado definitely wasn't ripe ) The sunny side up breakfast bowl ( The farro was good but there was so little of it compared to the amount of kale it felt more like a salad and threw off the flavor for me, as for the bread and avocado it was the same as I mentioned before ) and the fruit bowl ( Didn't feel fresh, tasted old and poorly kept ).. Even though most of the tables were clearly dirty the staff members were just standing around and talking to each other, I saw a server take a menu off a dirty table and hand it to a new customer without even wiping it off, If they aren't following basic safe serve in front of customers I wonder what we can't see.
Disappointed as a Loyal Local Customer We’ve been regular customers at this cafe, especially for their bread, but our recent visit was very disappointing. I politely asked the manager a simple question about the bread — specifically why it expired just two days after purchase, when most bread lasts at least five. Instead of explaining, she responded rudely and said she “doesn’t care,” acting as if she was above addressing concerns — almost like a CEO too busy for customers. As locals who support this business, we expected basic courtesy and a respectful response. Very disappointing experience. and says you can review on it.
