What a treat! Best brunch we had in a long while! Came to celebrate a birthday, host accommodated us with a nice cozy table by the window. Our server was wonderful (didn’t get the name, but long hair blond). The food was outstanding! Our favorites were mushroom scrapple, ginger bread pancake, and huevos rancheros!!! Cat wait to eat there again!!!

I experienced living here 25 years ago. It’s remarkable how they have revamped this area when I entered this café. It causes you to forget about the old Fishtown entirely, such a lovely place with a great warm feeling upon arrival. We were promptly seated around 6:15 PM., the menu selection was fantastic covering all the bases from vegan to vegetarian options along with a variety of regular menu items. We visited during vegan restaurant week which runs until November 2, it offers the best value during restaurant week, with a nice selection of appetizers, main courses, and desserts, along with an excellent drink menu, weekly specials, happy hour, and more. We started with a perfectly crafted ginger turmeric latte and a lavender, blackberry, gin, and tonic with blueberries instead of blackberries, which was fine. The drinks were refreshing and well made. For appetizers, we ordered the crispy brussels sprouts with plant Parmesan, roasted pepper Coulis, and truffle. The truffle flavor was subtle, but the brussels sprouts were cooked perfectly with enough flavor from the Parmesan and roasted red pepper. The spinach artichoke dip with fresh tortilla chips was very good, although not the absolute best. For our main courses, we tried the truffle mushroom lasagna with mushroom bacon, which was excellent despite a lack of truffle flavor. We also had the farmers pie, a simple but perfectly executed dish with autumn flavors. Dessert consisted of sharing the Carmel cashew cheesecake, a rich and creamy treat with a great crust, and the vegan s’mores brownie, which was deliciously done with a chocolatey caramel crust on the outside and a molten chocolate center with slightly charred marshmallow. At $35, the value was excellent, especially compared to the regular price of $50-$60. Our server Chloe was very pleasant. Overall, it was an excellent evening where we had engaging conversations with other patrons about vegan restaurants and new dining spots, exchanging recommendations and ideas. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit if you haven’t been yet. Just a side note, they serve freshly baked ciabatta bread with Parmesan whip, which is absolutely fantastic and among the best I've tasted.

This place is delightful. Walkable from anywhere in the wards. Good prices for this day and age (check out the old guy here saying things like, “this day and age”). Great service. Lots of people watching, since it’s right on the L. Tasty spicy margaritas. I had some fried banana bites and some weird but great maple mushroom bacon, the wife had the beet infused deviled eggs and soup. It’s gonna be on our list of places we can walk to, eat and have a drink, for under a hundred bucks and get in five miles on foot. Yes, that is a list we have. Love this place.

They were super quick to get us in (as a party of 6), the food was delicious, and the service was incredible. Victoria took great care of us! The coffee was so yummy. The shrimp and grits were super tasty and the french toast was good! Highly recommend!

The food is very tasty here ! I would say the appetizers are the strongest . The ambience is vibes. Lots of options for DF and gf homies.

Came here early to grab some lunch and a couple drinks. Chose the patio seating because the weather was nice and it was pretty empty. Drinks were really good. The tacos were the perfect snack to get full off of easily. Loved the buffalo cauliflower. My kale Caesar salad was alright but there were a lot of very hard stems that I couldn’t really chew and had to pick out. The only disappointment really were the croutons on it. They tasted like days old deep fried bread and just crumbled apart in grease.

Came here for lunch to catch up with a friend. Food was excellent. Get the strawberry lemonade!! You won’t regret it. We dined out in their courtyard area and it was fantastic. The service was on point and I had no complaints.

Sizes were great and the food was good. Ordered the burrito, regular breakfast, quinoa oatmeal, and shrimp and grits. The sauce on the shrimp and grits wasn’t my favorite, but the shrimp was huge and the grits were cooked well! The burrito was HUGE!

Front Street never lets down! They have a great menu for both vegans and non vegans. Around the holidays, the atmosphere is so cozy and inviting, and the service is always wonderful. I can’t say enough good things. I got the harvest salad with grilled tofu, and the tofu was absolutely incredible. Highly recommend!

Me and a party of 5 had brunch/lunch here this past weekend. We ordered a variety of food (as you can see) and it was spectacular. I personally had the strawberry salad and wings. The salad was phenomenal so fresh and the plant based feta was 🤌🏼 the wings were a bit over cooked and not smothered in sauce like I like, ranch was not flavorful enough for me. Crab cake sandwich was fresh and delicious and every one else really enjoyed their plates. Nice drink menu. The vibes were calm and cozy. Very spacious floor plan, and beautiful, clean bathrooms. IRMA (our server) YOU ARE THE BEST. Highly Recommend.

Backyard brunch vibe on the weekday was spot on. Had some speciality cocktails off the menu, a fresh juice and breakfast deliciousness. Can’t remember the scramble or dish but both of our dishes were amazing. Great spot.

We made a reservation and sat outside and it was such a nice ambiance and the staff were nice! Food takes a while if you go during peak lunch hours on weekends but the servers check in to make sure you have drinks while you wait. They have lots of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options (including the fries!! They were so good!!). They are also super accommodating for allergies and asked our table multiple times about allergies. It's great for a group since it is so accommodating and the menu has a great variety of foods. Definitely recommend making a reservation before you go. The food isn't anything special, but I'd still go back for how accommodating it is and the ambiance.

Gonna help you here. This place is legit from start to finish. Quick attentive service (Thank you Carminne - hope I spelled name right) , flavorful menu , nice ambiance , food comes out fast , and taste of everything we ordered was spot on. So , how I am going to help ? We were going to Middle Child Clubhouse across the street but did not because of a 20 minute outside line wait , a 20 minute order food line wait , and than 20 minute to get your order wait. Also , no tables , you have to sit at a counter. The staff worker was super cool taking names outside. I am so glad we walked across the street to Front Street Café. ps - be careful ordering anything with a soft boiled egg in it. They squirt big time !! Our daughter got splooged but we laughed about it and staff helped with the little clean up.

C

The gluten free S’mores brownie is delightful! It’s so good my non-celiac friends couldn’t tell it was gluten free. I’ve already eaten 5 of them within the past few months lol! Please keep this one on the menu as it’s hard for people with celiac to find chocolate desserts at restaurants!

Front Street Café was incredible. We had no issues walking in and getting a table right away. Service was quick as it was friendly. We ordered the smothered burrito and a plate of vegan eggs Benedict. It was incredible. I cannot wait to go back.

Cannot say enough about how great this place was. Had family brunch scheduled and turned out awesome. Food and service were high note. Highly recommend to put on your list.

What a great breakfast joint! Our experience went perfectly! The staff, food, and drinks were on point! My wife LOVED the garden salad with the ginger, carrot, and miso salad dressing. So did I, and I'm picky about salad dressings. The fruit cup is a good size with a handful of different kinds of fruit. Our server, Ceara, did an amazing job.

F
Francis santos

they have the best breakfast tacos and really good Tres leches cake. I highly recommend coming here anything you order off the menu will be good. The aesthetic here is really cute as well they have a great indoor and outdoor seating. The only thing I haven’t liked was the onion soup, it didn’t have enough broth.

L

I love this place. The atmosphere is super nice. There's a bar with lots of options. It's a beautiful spot for breakfast lunch or dinner. There's lots of seating. My only complaint is that the spicy fried chicken can definitely be more spicy by alot and it to be much more fried. Otherwise chicken is very juicy even for white meat. Buffalo cauliflower was so good. Everything felt very healthy and fresh feel so it does not feel so heavy or oily even though there was alot of food for 2 people. Grilled peach salad was so so so good and refreshing with the goat cheese sprinkled generously through out. For dessert the peach cobbler was very sweet but the ice cream and granola was very much appreciated. The dish is warm and was full of textures so it was very good. Overall will come back again!

These were the best espresso martinis we have ever had! This was also my first time getting an açaí bowl and the bar has been set extremely high after having this one. Everyone was so nice and it was a great experience!

Front Street has options for everyone! They have plenty of vegan and GF dishes and everything is DELICIOUS. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I particularly like their kale salad and flatbreads.

YUM! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, delicious and classic! Those mimosas have a KICK to them that kept me giggling.

Such a great neighborhood joint! Fantastic food. TONS of Vegan options, even vegan feta, vegan cheese steaks and vegan french onion soup, which was AMAZING! Very spacious, large outdoor patio, super clean and everyone is so friendly. Highly recommend this Fishtown gem!

I think this is one of the top 5 fried chicken sandwiches I’ve had in my life. Every bite is a complete bite ( where you get all the fixings in one bite) and the pickles are so delicious. The service was fantastic and the menu has so many options!

A
Alexander Hill

Went with my girlfriend for some coffee and a bite, they made her cappuccino with all the modifications she asked for and my iced coffee was pleasant. The fries were really good though, and the salsa for their empanadas of the day was a big hit. Reasonable price and good vibe inside. Give it a shot.

As someone newly gluten-free, finding a place with real options (not just “you can have the salad… no croutons”) feels like a miracle. Front Street Cafe is that miracle. They have the largest and best gluten-free menu I’ve found anywhere in the city — I actually had to choose between dishes, which felt suspiciously luxurious. Shoutout to our waiter (pretty sure his name was John) who was fantastic, the vibe of the space was warm and inviting, and whatever Christmas playlist was on deserves its own 5-star review. 🎄 I’ll happily keep making the trek from South Philly until I’ve eaten my way through the entire gluten-free menu. Worth it every time.

V

Our first dinner at Front Street Cafe was a win overall. I loved having so many gluten free and vegan options, while the rest of my family could still order whatever they wanted. Huge plus. The appetizers were the standout. The buffalo cauliflower was absolutely out of this world, crispy, spicy, and unforgettable. The spinach artichoke dip was good too, just not as memorable. Portions were generous and great for sharing. For my meal, I ordered a quinoa based salad with avocado, kale, and grilled tofu, and it was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. My husband had the chicken milanese, which he really enjoyed and found interesting and different, just a heads up that it’s heavy on the brussels sprouts. One of my sons ordered the steak and loved it, perfectly cooked with delicious accompaniments. We went on New Year’s Eve with an early reservation and were surprised it wasn’t crowded. The only downside was the service, which was a bit inattentive. Still, the food won out, and I’d definitely go back and hope for better service next time.

Solid brunch spot with huge portion sizes. Prices are pretty average with other brunch places, but note there can be a long wait time for a table. The coffee is really good, the burrito was solid, but the sweets were lacking.

R

Had an amazing time eating here for brunch that had to visit a 2nd time in my same trip. Would like to admit my favorite item that made me come back again was the "buffalo cauliflower bites"

A
Andrew Leventhal

Had a great time food was excellent portions were okay for the price. The fried mozzarella was a bit small and the vegan pizza needed a bit more sauce on top or something it was a bit dry the sauce that was there was excellent and the pesto pasta also really good.

Enjoyed a late Saturday afternoon lunch at FSC. Nice modern place with a spacious dining room and comfortable outdoor space. Our server, Corinne, was helpful and took the time to answer any questions we had about the menu or the drink specials. The menu offered a variety of delicious choices that will appeal to everyone. I had the vegetable burger that had a surprisingly nice kick along with the corn chowder. I enjoyed both. The 3 of us had a great time at FSC and it was definitely worth the visit.

R

Steak and eggs with arugula salad was decent. They only serve the steak medium done. Skipped on the rice and potatoes with that plate. My daughter’s salmon cake sandwich on the brunch special was really good. They also made the side of fries “loaded” for $3.50 extra which was also really good. The ginger aid was a treat. Wasn’t crazy about the French onion soup. Over all 4 or of 5 stars.

This is my first time eating breakfast at FSC . The atmosphere is cute , it’s giving warm industrial vibes which matches the overall aesthetic of fishtown, in my opinion. I ordered the grilled steak & eggs. Instead of red rice as a side, I asked for the mushroom-lentil scrapple. And, honestly, the scrapple was the highlight of the entree. The scrapple had texture and spice! The steak was okay- not the best but not the worst..more chewy than juicy . The eggs were solid but the chef was definitely heavy handed with the salt. The arugula was great ! I recommend this place for sure. They might be better if you come for a lunch or dinner

Me and my friends came here for brunch and had a great time. We sat outside and the ambiance is amazing. I got the spicy chicken sandwich, French onion soup, and a pumpkin spice espresso martini. The drink and the soup was amazing and I would order again. But the chicken sandwich was nothing special in my opinion. I also tried some of my friend’s food such as the eggs Benedict and chipotle chicken sandwich and was not a fan. I like that they have vegan and regular options, but the food isn’t classic flavors I’d call it more quirky or healthy vibes. Also a pretty expensive place, but I guess everything in fishtown is expensive.

Went here for the all you can eat pasta. We were first served with focaccia bread and roasted peppers with a marinara dip. The bread itself was honestly only okay, nothing out of the ordinary. Next, we could pick and choose different pastas that were made to order and served hot. My favorite was the Sicilian fusili with a mushroom and pesto sauce - it was creamy, yet delicate and well balanced. I also really liked the spinach and leek baked penne with ricotta but this one was a bit heavy. The cauliflower gnocchi was good, but lacked a kick that is generally expected of gnocchi - my guess was the flour to flower ratio (pun intended, hehe) was a bit messed up but it wasn't terrible, just not something I got a second of. It's worth the $30 especially if you're like me and enjoy stuffing your face with good pasta.

V

The food was very delicious and the selections on the menu were vast. Flavors and presentation were all very on point. I do wish that the brunch menu had more meaty dishes or at least had them in the entrees. There is also a 2% fee added to the check for the staff and 20% gratuity for tables with more than 6 people. However, the lack of attention we got from our server didn’t seem warranted for the 22% charge.

My friend suddenly dropped by the city on a Tuesday night and said she wanted a burger lol. She then emphasized that she wanted a CHEAP burger and showed me the menu for Front Street Cafe's Tuesday Burger Special. Glad we followed the whim cause this was a decent deal! The food was alright! I was satisfied for a $15 burger & draft special. I want to go during their breakfast/brunch time.

Front street cafe was delicious ! We ordered the fresh juice, chai latte, Buffalo cauliflower, Heuvos Rancheros, and breakfast tacos. There are tons of options for vegetarians and vegans here. I opted to get the tofu scramble on my heuvos rancheros instead of eggs and it was so good !!! We will definitely be back to dine in again for brunch. The staff was so kind, and our waitress constantly checked in on us to see if we needed anything.

Great ambiance and food. Had a great time with friends. The food is amazing too. As you can see in pics. The cauliflower wings are not the same as Buffalo Wild Wings but still good. Really tasty burgers. So if in hurry and grab a bite, front street cafe is the spot.

You definitely should have a reservation for this restaurant. We had to wait 45 minutes to get a table without one. Interestingly enough, the hostess tried to convince me and my guest to dine elsewhere by saying, "There are plenty of places to eat around here." It definitely lacked in customer-service forward patronization. The waiter was extremely present and made the experience better. The chicken and cheese empanadas were decent but tasted better with the sauce that accompanied the dish. I had the shrimp and grits for brunch. The flavor was good (being from the South), but the grits were a little to watery and lacked a cheesy enough texture for my palate. My guest had an Acai bowl, which was average and slightly over priced, that he said he enjoyed. It was a good atmosphere. I would go back at a different date to see if I can try something different next time.

My family and I came in tonight, Wednesday, and sat at the bar to have dinner. Morgan was great, she was very attentive and friendly. I ordered a burger medium, came out rare. My sister ordered a chicken sandwich, the chicken was piece was small. The remake came out correct, just took a long while to come out. The plates themselves were so hot that the food runner needed linens to carry them. The manager, Alex, was truly of no help. On his phone in the dining room instead of ensuring the food came out correct and timely. He was yapping about him doing his notes, then open table. It was 9:05, there’s no reason to be on open table, and if there’s an issue with a guest then your daily notes can wait.

We decided to revisit this Cafe and to our surprise our experience wasn’t all that great. The waiter was very standoffish and annoying. Now the less we sat and talked for a while and when we were done, that same waiter appeared to jump in front of us as if we would walk out without paying?? We ordered Brisket Burrito (8), The Sammie breakfast sandwich (8.5/10) ( I was told that I couldn’t swap bread because it was a “CHEAPER” item on the menu in which I never looked at the price just checked out all of the menus that were provided and ordered what I liked/wanted), and the Scrambled Egg, Cheese, Turkey Bacon, Toast, with Bean Sauce?? (8) Never tried bean with breakfast but to each his own lol. Iced Coffee with cold foam and we were charged extra for hazelnut, mayo, and onions. If you happen to be in the area check them out.

I went here for a drink while we waited for our table down the street. I wish I would have picked a different drink. I saw they had a specialty Mojito and asked for a regular one, bad move. I actually saw one of the bartenders, asking the other bartender how to make it, and it was trash. It could be partially my fault because they made it with rail rum, and I should’ve asked for Bacardi or something better. My husband got a specialty drink and he liked his. Looks like the spot would be really cute so I’m gonna give it another try and test out their food next time I’m there. I’ll be skipping the cocktails. I also noticed there weren’t any TVs, which I thought was fairly unique.

It's sort of like the Urban Outfitters of restaurants: everything looks almost cool and edgy, but it's really just "mid." The interior design stands out, but it's not striking. It's like artificial intelligence read every issue of Architectural Digest and then tried to create something that matched normative trendiness. The beer list is strong, a well curated selection of microbrews (mostly local) that guarantees something for everyone. Reading the menu, you'll think: wow, this place is great. They're killing it on presentation, first-impressions, facade. But then, the food comes, and it's commonplace. Not bad. Nothing to complain about. The burger was pleasant--the raclette and garlic aoli meld into a nice creamy richness that juxtaposes nicely with the juicy-crumble of ground beef. But the pickles didn't really shine through, and the brioche bun was the same as every other brioche bun everywhere. The burger could've used something acidic, sweet & sour like a fancy homemade ketchup, or a caramelized onion jam. The menu says it's a "brisket burger," but it didn't really have melting beef tallow running onto the plate like I'd expect, which suggests it's either precooked, or not brisket. Fries were also lackluster: crispy and salty enough, but no better than the average New Jersey diner. So, it's a standard burger at a luxury price point. We also ordered a steak. Kudos for offering the flat-iron cut, it's highly underrated and I wish more places sold it. They cooked it perfectly, and all the sides were also well-prepared. But nothing was exceptional, nothing stood out. I have barely anything to say about it. It's just a steak, probably USDA Choice, not Prime. Bottom line: there's no reason not to go here if you're looking for a pleasant place to talk with dining companions and eat reasonably good food. On the surface, it seems like a hot foodie paradise, and then once you wade in, the whole experience is tepid. I'd go back, but I wouldn't expect much.

Front Street can be a difficult place to park, However, I was fortunate on this occasion, and someone was coming out as we were pulling up. Other members of our group were not as lucky circling the surrounding area for about 20 minutes before finding parking. The restaurant was full of a lively atmosphere, and tables were filling up fast. There was a wonderful aroma radiating from the kitchen. We sat in the patio area, and the attractive live edge tables did not go unnoticed. I had the Turkey club, which I did enjoy. However, I do wish they did not use such a thick bread choice. Because of the thickness of the bread, the sandwich tasted a little dry, and it was difficult to taste the ingredients in the sandwich (turkey, lettuce, bacon, and tomato). Fortunately, I did order extra garlic aoli mayo on the side (which I was charged extra), however, the extra mayo, which I shared with another party who ordered the same sandwich, helped make the sandwich more palatable. The chicken tenders and the breakfast potatoes with the peppers and onions were not well received. The fries were amazing. Everyone loved the fries. One friend had the baised brisket burrito, which she loved. Other favorites were the cream brulee pancakes and the Turkey burger. If I return, I'll definitely try the shrimp and grits, which looked amazing on surrounding tables and the buffalo cauliflower, which it seemed everyone in the know was ordering.

We chose this restaurant for the gluten free options. The menu looked really good and so did the specials. Unfortunately, the buffalo cauliflower dish was inconsistent, some pieces still cold inside while others fine. I also ordered the crab cakes which were very soggy and didn't have much flavor. The string potatoes that came with the crab cake were supposed to be crunchy but they were soft/stale. It seems like most of the food is frozen then quickly reheated, which would explain why the temperature and consistency was off. The food came out SUPER fast which also makes me believe it's frozen and not reheated properly. Too bad, we were really hoping to have a go-to gluten free friendly spot in Philly but likely won't be going back. I had a mocktail which tasted great and our server was so incredibly friendly.

I had been dying to go to Front Street Cafe forever and when I found out all-you-can-eat pasta on Wednesdays now I really had to go. Your girl was super excited to go. So I went with a group of friends and I did not feel welcome as we waited to be seated. The host didn't even bother greeting us. We got seated and waited about 15 minutes to just get served water then another 15 of wait to start our orders. When the server came to serve us our food that was when I started to feel more negative energy, this is what she said quote on quote "I don't have time for this you guys can figure it out" As she was serving us and left the our plates on the table. It was onlt 4 of us. She didn't have the patience to give each of us our dish. I get it she had a large group to take care of but she didn't have to be that rude to us. Overall the food was good especially their desserts were the best but the service was terrible. I had high hopes for them especially when I invited my friends to come along but this incident was just unacceptable.

Imagine paying $16 plus tip for this 🫣. We’ve eaten here a few times and the food has just never been good, but it is a really nice spot to hang out. This açaí bowl was probably the last straw—it was tiny, flavorless, and full of ice chunks (as you can see in the photo). I was really craving an açaí bowl and this was such a letdown. There are just too many other good spots nearby to come back here again.

First time trying Front Street Cafe and unfortunately the food was underwhelming. I got the turkey club and the bread was hard so it made the sandwich dry to eat. The fries on the other hand were delicious! Battered fries, my fave. We also got a breakfast platter with eggs, potatoes, bacon and toast. The eggs were very bland and the potatoes were covered in cheese that was barely melted. Bacon was crispy though. Our server, Mo, was helpful and provided great service.

J

The food was good yet interesting. I just wish the waitress was more friendly and would have explained some of the unique quirks about some of the food. When I had brought it to the waiters attention that the Caesar salad dressing was purple, it tasted like olives, and it had no croutons she just shrugged me off and said “well that’s our Caesar salad”. I just wish that it was mentioned somewhere on the menu or by the waiter that the Caesar salad dressing was going to be purple with an olive taste and not similar to every other Caesar salad.
