Great spot for mostly American style sushi/Japanese food. Osaka is out go-to "we want a lot of cheap sushi rolls" place. We never go to drink and we always order primarily veggie rolls. It ends up being pretty cheap and the sushi is just fine. They are very generous with their portions, sushi roll wise, and the place is really well decorated and clean! Definitely worth a visit.

Me and my guest we're quickly seated and given great service. Our waitress was very attentive and refilled drinks without being asked. The food was beyond fantastic. Me and my guest got exactly what we were looking for. I tried one of the special samplers and my friend got the Seoul ribs. All the food came out promptly and was worth every dime. If you like Japanese style food I urge you to go here asap!

Our place for going out for a nice sushi date. Have really enjoyed everything we've ordered. Pleasant staff. I've taken my parents out to eat here. They're not into sushi, but really enjoyed dining here too.

Osaka was amazing. The food was excellent. We got the kindest, most accommodating waitress ever. We have a 2 year old son who can be a bit of a handful, but she was incredibly sweet and tried to keep him entertained as much as possible. This place is not the most kid friendly, but she did her best to make our dinner experience sensational.

By far, the best sushi I have ever had. We have been going to Osaka now for over 8 years. We always try sushi whenever we find a reputable place, but Osaka is our number one stop. Yes, their rolls are expensive, but when you try the amazing flavors, you will understand why.

Excellent sushi! The fish was really top notch. Miso soup was very good as well. Service was prompt and courteous. Decor was pleasant. Will be back for more.

The staff was polite, friendly, and always near to check up on you. Good selection of sushi to choose from, the food was delicious, and it came out pretty fast. Definitely will be back in the future.

Never disappointed. The scallops are so fresh, they're still alive, literally. Excellent menu and reasonably priced saki. Great atmosphere, attentive wait staff. Been a fan for many, many years.

I've been eating at Osaka for years. They have a very nice bento box for lunch, which is tasty and well priced. I have never had a bad meal. I really like sitting at the sushi bar and watching the different sushi dishes being made. They are true artist. Sea bass is amazing! Treat yourself to a pitcher of saki. Definitely, worth the trip.

Always has fresh delicious fish! Friendly wait staff... This place has made it to my frequent flyer list. Order the flying fish gaspacho with truffle; it's melt in your mouth deliciousness.

The sushi was amazing and the service was great! We had an open table reservation but showed up 45 mins early and they got us right in! I highly recommend this restaurant!

I went here once for lunch, and had take out sashimi and was very impressed by the lunch menu, of which I had the bento box. Very, very reasonably priced and of a high quality. The service was attentive but not hovering which made for a very relaxed lunch. Overall great experience, and excellent food.

Fantastic apps and rolls. Service is spot on and very friendly. Sitting by the bar and watching them crafts rolls makes for a more enjoyable experience. As always, will be back again

Great little spot. The duck lettuce wrap alone will keep me coming back. I've gone at current times of the day but obviously it'll be very busy after work on a Friday.

Was referred here by a Japanese doctor who is doing research at CHOP. We're here from NY and are fussy about our sushi! Everything was spectacular. Two standouts were the eel and the soy sauce reduction.

Food is excellent and reasonably priced. However 5 stars for excellent service! The. Helped me with my baby stroller and made room for me right in the front.

One of the best sushi places in Philadelphia, and my personal favorite. A bit on the pricey side but the experience makes up for it. Try the dragon roll.

The rolls were good though loosely rolled. Definitely a bit overpriced but the kicker is being charged a dollar for a side of sriracha and not being told it was at a cost. If I’m buying 3 rolls that cost $16 or more I’d say it’s poor form to charge for some sriracha. Unfortunately this won’t be our go to spot, it’s good but I’m sure we can get better sushi for half the price with free sriracha... I mean been to sushi all over the country and have never... Anyway. Disappointed.

Pretty nice place, we got the shrimp tempura and a spicy tuba roll. Both were very good but I wish we got a little more food with the meals considering how much they were.

Decent selection of sushi definitely not the best in Philly but good for Chestnut Hill. They have table seating as well as near the sushi station and also at the bar.

Only downfalls are the seating arrangements and menu options Friday-Sunday or at night. Monday-Thursday at lunch is the time to go here. I’m 6”3 200 pounds, I’m skinny but tall so kinda hard to fit well here. On the other side of things the sushi was actually enjoyable great food here if you don’t care about being crushed together.

Good service. Average sushi and entree. Might be good for larger groups in their basement party area. Otherwise, there are better Japanese places. Osaka in Collingswood, NJ is better. (Not sure if same owners)

Overpriced, yet good quality Sushi. Asked for a large hot Sake, paid $20 (for a house Sake? ) and $29 for Midori Nigiri which is listed on the website for $26. Service is average at best, not too friendly.

WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN sushi, great. Service, in humane. All the times I have eaten at this restaurant and the one time I come in and ask to use the restroom (because I was at the bank next door for an hour who does not have a restroom) I am told I cannot use the restroom. I came in dancing at that. I carefully walked down to Starbucks and almost urinated on myself in the process. Even when you are EATING IN service is atrocious. No water refills. No check ins at the table. Perhaps it’s because I’m a person of color. I’d hate to think that but my best friend is white and eats here SO OFTEN and she never has complained of the service from the waitstaff....

I hadn't realized that Osaka closes at a certain time in the afternoon and reopens at 5:00 pm, so when my guest and I arrived at 4:20 pm we were unpleasantly surprised that we could not be served. Worst, the hostess didn't even invite me to sit in the lounge or at the bar. Perhaps the bar was closed as well. The woman at the bar stared furtively at me at different intervals as I rested on the couch in the front area. The distance that I felt from both women let me know that I was not wanted in Osaka and when my guest arrived we decided not to stay and spend money in such an unfriendly, cold atmosphere. Perhaps the food is great; I will never know, because I do not impose myself on people who make me feel unwanted.

Osaka is “over rated and over priced”. I’ve been to many fancy Japanese restaurants that were served by seasonal sushi chefs and compare to my past experience, Osaka needs serious improvement. Forget about quality they first need to be more generous with the potions they serve. We had Tempura, Spider roll, King California rolls, and Chirashi and we still came out hungry. Are they kidding me serving few super thin sliced veggie tempuras with three shrimps at $13? Presentation was poor as well. Spider roll looked more like fried mashed potato wth. Osaka please call ur Spider roll, Fried Mashed Crab rolls. Now let’s talk about Chirashi. It’s one of my favorite dish and I had it many times from other fancy restaurants. Osaka, where’s the missing Octopus, Shrimp, Mackerel Sashimi, Clam Sashimi, Salmon Roe or Flying Fish Roe, Squid and most of all Eel. More than half of the sashimi was missing from the bowl and the crazy price for this MIA bowl was.... $17. On top of this, the potion was about half of other places. Normally for me, Chirashi Bowl is enough with a cup of green tea yet this time I had tempura, and part of my friends Sushi rolls and still it wasn’t enough. No one should spent $80 for two and come out hungry.

So disappointed to find the restaurant is NOT wheelchair friendly . We called in advance and asked especially if they catered for wheelchairs - including bathroom and were given a definite yes - after a 45 minute drive i was extremely upset upset to find steps, Steps and more steps ...the staff barely apologized - looks great but - all restaurants by law should be wheelchair accessible !!!

Horrible service from the kitchen. Waiters are great, other staff are rude. Plan to wait over an hour for one roll of sushi
