At Phoenicia Diner, we're a gathering place where classic American comfort food meets local flair. We're a nod to the past, with a twist that's uniquely ours. Our menu showcases timeless favorites with modern twists, all made with love and care, just like grandma used to make. Our cozy diner is a haven for families, friends, and solo diners alike, where warm conversation flows as freely as our freshly brewed coffee. We've heard it from our customers: our homemade apple pie is a standout, and the old-school charm of our 1950s-style booths is the perfect setting to catch up with loved ones over a hearty meal.

Delicious!!! The beet Reuben sandwich was very good, and I don’t even like beets that much. The pancakes are a must. Got the cinnamon roll to go and it was decadent. Mine wasn’t dry at all, it was soft and fluffy and simultaneously dense and rich. I love a Bloody Mary so I had to try, loved it! We had about a 30 minute wait for a table for two over Memorial Day weekend. Worth the wait and can’t wait to come back. Barbara our server was super nice and attentive. Bathroom is clean.
The Phoenicia Diner is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, you feel the warmth—great energy, friendly service, and a genuine sense of hospitality that makes you want to linger. The food is outstanding: classic diner comfort done right, elevated with fresh ingredients and real care. Every bite feels thoughtful and satisfying, whether you’re stopping in for breakfast, lunch, or just a great cup of coffee. It’s the kind of place that makes a road trip memorable and turns a casual stop into a highlight of the day. Consistently excellent food, attentive staff, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The Phoenicia Diner never disappoints and is well worth going out of your way for.
Came here 2 days in a row(Saturday and Sunday) first one was great had a wonderful server. Today ordered coffee and there was chunks in my half and half after having the server replace the creamer 3 times she threw a fit and then came back and offered to get more. I attached pictures of the half and half and what my coffee looked like(Saturday it wasn’t like that at all) so we apparently inconvenienced the waitress.
We finally had the chance to dine at Phoenicia Diner—and it was so worth the wait! Every time we’ve come before, the line was over an hour long… and now we totally get why. This place is a must-stop for anyone visiting the area. Let’s talk about the food—their pancakes don’t even need syrup. Seriously, they’re that good. The French toast with local maple syrup was amazing, and the freshly squeezed orange juice was the perfect touch. Oh, and don’t skip the baked beans—absolutely delicious! The atmosphere is cozy, the service is great, and the food blew us away. We’re already planning our next visit. Highly recommend!
Absolutely worth the hype! We stopped by Phoenicia Diner and were blown away. The pancakes were fluffy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, easily some of the best I’ve had. The staff was amazing: super friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. From start to finish, it was a fantastic experience. Can’t wait to come back!
My sister has a house in Denver and every trip we drive past Phoenicia Diner and say we want to go. Today we are celebrating our one year wedding anniversary and made the decision to wake up early and go to the diner - we arrived around 8:05am and were seated in a booth right away. By around 8:35am every table in the diner was full and there was a wait. We ordered the breakfast burrito (was ok), two eggs / sourdough toast / sausage (what you expect) and split the buttermilk pancakes. The pancakes are absolutely the star of the show - a must order. The waitress was very kind - she accidentally forgot to place the burrito order, but was so apologetic and the dish still came out quickly after she realized she forgot. Overall, solid diner experience - $58 bill for the above dishes plus two coffees. Being NYC folks we weren’t shocked @ the bill and have paid this for diner food in the city. I would probably go back on a summer or nice fall morning and order from the airstream and sit outside.
The phoenicia diner is the best breakfast diner around thay have the best food you will find and breakfast all day! The service is very good and my family and I have been going here for years, in the photo I got the wittenberg bagel and the kids pancakes and the make your own omelet with a salad the food is great I would recommend the side of potatoes and overall the food is the best around.
Really liked this place. A very sophisticated menu, good food and a good bartender. I ordered a Benny with roasted foraged mushrooms, fresh spinach and a side of cheese grits. All excellent. The potatoes were over fried and brown but I don’t eat much of that anyway. Definitely recommend.
We ended our trip with breakfast at the iconic Phoenicia Diner. It was a bit busy when we arrived, but the system was smooth, you’re given a number and can wait by the bar. The bar itself is worth mentioning, a large drink menu filled with specialty coffees, teas, and even alcoholic options. We ordered a latte and a matcha. Both were good and hit the spot, though nothing particularly memorable. The wait went by quickly, and the service was fantastic, friendly, efficient, and welcoming despite the crowd. Now, the food. This place absolutely lived up to the hype. Taco Skillet – The portion was perfect, and the flavors were bursting in every bite. It was hearty without being overwhelming, and I finished the entire thing without hesitation. Full Phoenicia Breakfast – A true staple. It had everything you’d want in a classic breakfast plate. The over-easy eggs were cooked perfectly, the sausage was juicy and flavorful, and the grilled tomatoes were a delicious addition that tied the whole plate together. The Pancakes – Let me start by saying we are not pancake people. But these were highly recommended, so we gave them a shot and wow. They were fluffy, soft, and easily some of the best pancakes we’ve ever had. They didn’t even need syrup. We genuinely regretted not coming here for lunch or dinner during our trip. If the Phoenicia Diner is on your route or even slightly out of the way, it’s absolutely worth the stop. We’ll 100% be back
When here for breakfast before climbing Hunter Mountain. My friend said it was her favorite place to eat in the area. She wasn't wrong. The food is great. The portions are good. The majority of the food seems to be locally sourced. After we climb the mountain we came back for boozy milkshakes. The same server was there and remembered us. Somehow we even got our own table back from earlier. Hoping Katy and I make that our own personal table for several visits to come
Vintage chic diner serving quality, local, “real” food. We loved the 3500 plate comes with little bit of everything you want for a diner food: one pancake, one piece of french toast, one pork sausage, some bacons, and eggs. We also ordered the scrambled eggs with smoked trout that comes on a hot skillet served with toast. everything tasted fresh and was well made. will come again! plus, the swags are cute!
It was an honor to dine at such an institutional establishment. They have a spacious outdoor space if you want to dine outside with a camper serving drinks. We opted to wait inside. We came towards the tail-end of brunch service so the wait was about 30 min but it cleared out quickly once the afternoon hour hit. Food was delicious and the staff were all very kind and attentive. The place gets really busy for breakfast so I recommend coming early to put your name down. I’d definitely get the hash browns again. Order highlight! My only gripe is that the toast slices were super tiny. Please give us larger pieces!
Phoenicia Diner is a cozy, homey spot that instantly makes you feel welcome. The space is beautifully decorated for the holidays, giving it a festive, comforting vibe, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. The food overall was solid, though a bit mixed. The eggs and sausage were flavorful and well done, while the pancakes were good but not particularly memorable. The juices are advertised as freshly squeezed, but they tasted more like concentrate than fresh, which was a little disappointing. That said, my breakfast special was exceptional. The seasonal turkey with fennel, fried Brussels sprouts, Phoenicia potatoes, and eggs was standout and absolutely worth ordering. It felt thoughtful, hearty, and satisfying, especially on a chilly fall/winter day. Despite a few misses, this is a welcoming, family-friendly spot in a great Catskills location. I’d definitely return with the kids for the atmosphere, comfort, and friendly service alone — and I’d happily order the specials again.
This is the kind of restaurant you'll definitely want to try if you happen to pass by. In this small town with a small population, it's one of the few restaurants with a full parking lot. If the locals love to eat there, it's highly likely that the food is genuinely delicious and has a great reputation. The restaurant's decor is full of historical charm, and you can even press your own commemorative coin with a silver coin. It also has a bar area, perfect for relaxing and socializing. The music selection was excellent, and our server, Barbara, was very friendly. The overall atmosphere and music were fantastic! And of course, the food didn't disappoint either!
I drove past here on my way back from the mountains. I'd seen it a few times, but never stopped. This diner was a perfect choice! The place is old-school, clean, and the service is super friendly, helpful, and fast! I'm really glad I stopped here, it felt like time stop therell! I felt like I was visiting my aunt or grandmother for dinner!!! The food is great, the portions are large, I didn't even have room for dessert!!! I ordered the split pea soup - it was perfect!! And the chicken & biscuit pot pie - very tasty!!!! Exactly the kind of meal I needed after hiking!!! I really recommend it, enjoy!!! Oh, I almost forgot - the prices are very reasonable!
This spot is not just any ordinary diner!!! We drove by and decided to have breakfast. It was a busy morning. But that did not stop us from waiting only 20mins tops! We had such a nice waiter who knew football and was very easy to talk too! I wish I got her name! She was extremely nice and easy going! We thought they were out of fresh squeezed OJ but she was able to get some for us. It was fresh & delicious! My husband ordered the vegan pancakes with Phoenician Potatoes and I got the Avocado toast with a poached egg and bacon with French fries! I can see why everyone loved the pancakes! They are worth a try! So warm and fluffy! You would not regret it! The food was freshly delivered to our table in a little than 15 minutes. The Oatmeal Pecan cookies was delicious and moist! We also got Hot Chocolate on the go and it was really good! Highly recommend coming by if you're near the area! This place sure knows how to run a busy hungry crowd!
Phoenicia Diner has become a go-to every time we’re in the area. Set in a beautiful rural spot surrounded by hills, it strikes the perfect balance between nostalgic diner charm and a menu that’s fresh, local, and a little unexpected. Breakfast....great coffee, pancakes, and creative takes on Benedicts. Portions are generous, and everything tastes thoughtfully made with high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. The staff is always warm and welcoming. If you’re a fan of the show Severance, you’ll get an extra kick out of visiting—they even have merch. Bought a diner mug that’s now a favorite at home. Highly recommend, and we’ll definitely be back… again.
We had wanted to go there for a while, but we always seemed to be in the area on days when it was closed. We finally got there, and it was well worth the trip. I ordered a stack of buttermilk pancakes with strawberries and maple syrup. When it arrived, there were 5 thick pancakes in the order. They could have listed it on the menu as serving two. They were, by far, the best pancakes I have had anywhere. I took home three of them and had them for breakfast two more times. You can purchase their pancake mix or just the recipe to make them at home. My wife ordered the Arnold Bennett Skillet. It was scrumptious, and the portion was so large that she took home more than half of it. We also ordered a side of onion rings. They were freshly made to order and couldn't have been better. Some of those also went home with us. We can't wait to go back there again.
Having been here a few times, i felt i had to write a review. The cosistency is great. The ambience and staff have been great every time we’ve done. Even when they are slammed we haven’t waited longer than 15min to be seated. The food comes out in a timely manner. I have nothing but great things to say. The food! Wow talk about putting your “touch” on something. It feels like even their simplest dishes have a sense of uniqueness. It’s wonderful. Specifically the chicken sandwich and pasta dish pictured were so amazing i can still taste it. Thank you Phoenicia Diner.
We had a great experience at the diner. Susan, our server, made a positive impression with her kindness, attentiveness, patience, and watchfulness. Her efforts to ensure we were well taken care of and received the attention we deserved likely contributed significantly to our enjoyment of the meal. Despite visiting during a busy lunchtime on a Sunday, the food arrived exceptionally fast, which is always a pleasant surprise. The quality of the food was good, and the portions were generous enough to leave you feeling satisfied. The affordability of the prices further enhances the diner's appeal. Moreover, the availability of ample parking both in the front and back of the diner is convenient for guests. Clean and well-maintained restrooms are always a plus, ensuring comfort throughout the visit. Overall, it sounds like the diner provided a pleasant dining experience with excellent service from Susan, delicious food, reasonable prices, and convenient amenities.
What a treat!!! We love to check out diners wherever we are and the Phoenicia Diner is a definite DESTINATION SPOT. This diner is in the middle of nowhere Catskills in New York State, and yet you will find so many people traveling there just for the experience. The friendly greeting by the staff and then there’s THE FOOD!!! The portions are great and absolutely delicious. And no matter what food you choose, you will be astound. We had breakfast but also had to have their outstanding onion rings(the best!!!) And to add to the experience, the staff were extremely efficient and so friendly. This is a DESTINATION place well worth going out of your way to visit.
Finding an honest to goodness diner with vegan options is amazing and luckily this was close to our cabin so making a stop here was a no brainer. We got the breakfast burrito and pancakes with home fries. And of course, some damn good coffee. Really pleasant staff too. Get there early, we didn’t have to wait more than ten minutes but we were there fairly early on a Sunday.
A charming local gem with a history and good food. The service was warm and welcoming, making the whole experience feel like a step back in time in the best way. Their buttermilk pancakes were fluffy perfection, and the corned beef skillet was hearty and flavorful. If you’re in the Catskills, this place is a must-visit—classic diner food done right!
It has a classic old diner feel. The menu has more of a slant on healthy and creative menu options to go along with your dinner fare. The parking lot is large and the diner stands out along Route 28 with beautiful views of the Catskills. It can get busy here and you might have to wait for a table. The service is always friendly and efficient even when busy. I had the Taco Skillet ($18), my wife had a bowl of the Braised Pinto Bean & Kale Soup ($9) and Sourdough toast. Our friends had the Veggie Reuben ($17) with a mocktail and the Chicken Pot Pie with a beer We have been here a number of times over the years. This time we were meeting friends to take a walk along the Ashokon Rail Trail but it was pouring rain so we decided a late lunch was a better option. We have been here after skiing at Belleayre or kayaking the Esopus. If you are driving down Route 28, you owe it to yourself to stop in for a meal or a quick snack and enjoy being part of the Catskill life.
Phoenicia Diner is the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into a movie set about the perfect Catskills weekend. Cozy retro vibes? Check. Big mugs of coffee that magically refill just when you need it? Check. A menu full of comfort food with just enough twists to keep it interesting? Absolutely. If you’re up this way, don’t skip it. Bring your appetite, bring a flannel, and lean into the charm
A classic diner with great ambiance and food that lives up to the hype. Perfect for breakfast or lunch. The wait was very minimal during a Thursday lunch rush and we were seated within 15 minutes. The taco skillet had the right amount of spice and the Mac and cheese burrito was amazing. The onion rings were too much for two people and would opt for a different side next time.
Cute, roadside diner with delicious homemade dishes. Love the use of local farms and homemade foods. A little on the pricey side for diner food but it was all fresh. Service was a little lacking for our table but they were on the busier side. All in all, we had a great breakfast for dinner. Want to come back when outside dining is available.
I can't say enough good things about this place! We came here during our Severance-filming-location trip, and man, was it worth the drive. The pancakes had us in tears they were so good, and we're still thinking about them several days after our trip. Awesome waitress, great atmosphere, and delicious food. I wish we lived closer so we could go every day!
I'll be honest. I usually do not eat at Diners. This place is a landmark eatery and was highly recommended. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The Buttermilk Pancakes were amazing and I decided to get a chocolate malted to drink. My wife got an egg cream and a chorizo and eggs sandwich ! I bought their buttermilk Pancake mix to make at home!
These are the best pancakes I’ve ever tasted. They look burnt but they’re not, they’re perfect in every way. Also the breakfast sausage is amazing, and our waitress, Barbra, was very friendly. The food also comes out super fast so it’s a nice fast stop if you’re on a road trip in the area. Totally worth it getting off I-87 on our way to Montreal. It’s super busy though so it can be a little hard to find parking.
We were staying at the Emerson in Mt. Tremper and were directed here by a staff member because we missed lunch service at the Catamount. We loved it so much we came back two mornings in a row for breakfast. The Phoenicia serves delicious food made from locally-sourced ingredients. The portions are generous. Mona and Barbara are outstanding waitresses who greeted us warmly and took care of all our needs. If we lived closer, this would be our regular!
Best. Pancakes. I’ve. Ever. Had. Pancakes can typically be filling, but these are so delicious, light, and fluffy, it is impossible to stop eating them. Absolutely loved the vibe in here. You can tell that there were some modern updates while still keeping the integrity of the vintage look. If you’re looking for a true diner experience, this is it.
Ahhh officially my new FAVORITE spot! Absolutely genius! The food was delicious & hot ( no sitting in the kitchen window). The atmosphere was cozy and even though they always seem to be extremely busy we were greeted and sat right away. Our waitress, Lisa went above and beyond for us! Making us feel welcomed and taken care of. She was a delight. Will definitely be back to try more of the yummy dishes and will be requesting our same waitress. Check it out!!
Only good things to say about this place! The staff is warm and welcoming. The pancakes were some of the best I’ve had. They’re pretty filling too. They offer a side of 3 pancakes for $8 instead of 5 pancakes for $15, I’d recommend that. Breakfast burrito was full of fresh ingredients. However, I did wish I tried the taco skillet instead. Home style potatoes were crispy and delicious. If you’re in the Catskills, do not miss this place!
Stopped by Phoenicia Diner on a rainy Saturday morning and waited about 20 minutes to be seated ,totally worth it. The food was absolutely delicious! I had the full breakfast plate with fluffy scrambled eggs, thick-cut bacon, sausage, pancakes, and toast .Everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. I couldn’t leave without trying their giant cookie, and OMG… soft, warm, and loaded with chocolate. Also — shout out to our waitress, she was phenomenal. Super friendly and on point the whole time. Definitely recommend!
Learned about this diner from the Severance TV show (among the locations they filmed in the Catskills), found out they have a vegan menu and had to check it out. The vegan pancakes are the best I’ve ever had!! So fluffy and delicious!! Great coffee, super friendly service. All around great experience. Looking forward to going back again soon.
We’ve visited this diner several times over the years, it’s always lovely, but this visit was a stand out. It was a busy Saturday, but it was a cozy 20 minute wait thanks to their delightful lounge service while you’re waiting. The mocha latte was to die for, and I need to order some Fruition chocolate immediately! The bar staff was kind and welcoming. Our party of five had delightful breakfasts, with the pancakes and the jalapeño popper hashbrowns being particularly good. The real star however, was our server Tommy! She gave us such great recommendations, and was so funny and warm! All the staff we encountered were lovely!
Drove by and thought, “Hmm, this place looks familiar”—turns out it’s the diner featured as Pip’s Diner in Severance! I stopped in just for fun, and when I saw the parking lot was packed, I figured it might be all the show fans. But nope—the food really is that good. The interior has a fun retro diner vibe, and the atmosphere was relaxed but lively, with a mix of families and couples. The food was outstanding—fluffy, flavorful pancakes and a perfectly cooked chicken pot pie that was cozy and delicious. The onion rings were a surprise: each one was basically the size of a donut! The batter is heavy on the black pepper, which I personally liked, but heads-up if that’s not your thing. Such a great place to stumble upon—I’d definitely come back for a laid-back, satisfying meal next time I’m in the Catskills.
We had driven past a few times and it was always busy so we figured it had to be good. I love diners and the Phoenicia Diner did not disappoint. Since it isn't open late we made sure to stop in late afternoon. Portions were large and reasonably priced. Everything was delicious, the pancakes were so tasty we bought some of the pancakes mix on the way out. Definitely recommend checking it out of you are in the area.
What a must stop in spot! The vibe is exactly what you’d hope for amidst the mountains upstate with a flair of modernity. It was bustling on a Saturday morning but we found seating at the counter to be speedy although the service itself was on the slower side. The food however was so flavorful and fresh I couldn’t have had it better. We ordered granola+yogurt and the pancakes with bacon. These were the best pancakes ever and loved the fresh maple syrup. Overall, this is a must visit and I recommend!
Got the famous pancakes and the cinnamon roll. The pancakes were some of the best I've ever had, they were fluffy and thick. The cinnamon roll was also really good, fresh, fluffy, and taste great, a bit pricey than I had expected believe it was $7. Nice meal to grab pre/post a hike in the catskills.
I am so appreciative to have Phoenicia Diner to visit every time I go back home. As a local who grew up in the area, I think it’s wonderful that they really try to honor the community with local ingredients and a feel that is uniquely the Catskills. They integrated so beautifully and have become probably one of the best, if not the best, diners in the country. The food is everything you hope (especially the pancakes, get the pancakes) and I promise it’s worth the wait (you can even order a drink and wait outside for your table to be called). The service is so friendly and authentic and the vibes are impeccable too. This post was made in connection with a Toast promotion.
Was a big Severance fan and wanted to come here for that reason, but even if you have no clue about the show…this place is worth the trip. We waited about 20-30 mins for a table for four, and got coffee in the area outside (chai latte was fantastic and my husband got the muddy water which is a maple cold brew with oat milk, also delightful). Inside we got pancakes for the table (a move you should replicate) and they were fluffy and light and delicious. There’s a full vegan menu which was awesome and I ordered the falafel sandwich which was part of the specials for the day. The falafel was so tasty and not at all dry but had a great crumble. My husband and I both got mezcal drinks and both were incredibly good. Service was so fast and so friendly. We bought some vegan pancake mix on the way out. Def worth the visit and trip!
We were able to get a seat the bar right away at around 10:45am on a Friday after hiking all morning at Kaaterskill. I had the pancake/french toast breakfast combo with eggs and sausage and bacon and it was so delicious! My boyfriend had the vegan pancakes and really enjoyed them too! We bought pancake mix to bring home also. Our server was so helpful and the atmosphere is really comfortable and lovely - right in the middle of the mountains! Can’t wait to come back!

Can't Give 5 stars on reputation. We all just got full on reasonable food, nothing special. Overall we felt it's overrated. Kept hearing about this place for years. Driven by and long lines of people outside & cars lining the road that didn't fit in parking lot. We caught it on a less busy time. If we had waited a long time, I really would have been frustrated. My teen liked the breakfast platter but wouldn't eat the large sausage. The beet reuben was tasty but too cheesy for a vegetarian /healthier version. My husband just picked the beets out of the 2nd half. My chili was veg, but flavor was one sided. No cornbread :[
They were rlly busy but even then I feel like were patient and not once rushed the servers. We waited over 40 minutes to be sat and when we finally did sit down the server went to other tables that had sat down after us. She kept telling us we had to be patient multiple times despite us not saying a single thing and her spending a long amount of time with the table next to us right after. Our server also passed us multiple times and went to said table to ask if they needed anything despite me trying to get her attention to clarify our order since she didn’t bother to ask if I wanted my coffee hot or cold or etc when we first ordered. overall good food but I felt like we weren’t valued as customers compared to other people in the restaurant. Not sure if it’s a race thing as we’re Asian and other customers are white, but it tends to feel that way when I’m in predominantly white food establishments and the only poc. Sucks as I do try to be positive and patient especially when this is a place I had highly anticipated going to and it was very busy so I understand longer wait times.
It’s a Catskill relic, so it was only right that we went! What a cute little diner!!! We got there right when it opened because its first come, first serve. That was a power move on our part. It started to get packed quickly! The food was good! I got the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were nice and buttery. So soft. The gravy was great, too. It was lacking a TAD bit of flavor. I wish the sausage pieces were a little larger, too. The pancakes, which they are known for, were good! They were soft and pillowy. Delish. The service was good. Our waiter was spread thin for a little while her coworkers came in about an hour after we were seated. They had merch to buy and of course I had to partake! Such cute little souvenirs! Overall, a great place to visit!!! Especially if you’re a Severance fan! 😉
I haven’t had good diner food in a while at Phoenicia Diner more than hit the spot. Everything was fresh, delicious, and the people working here are so friendly. The menu is huge and everything is served all day long (both breakfast and lunch). I really enjoyed the big breakfast here which allows you to try a little bit of everything. Definitely stop by if you’re nearby and want to be filled up for a great price. Also the vibe inside is both cozy, busy, and old school!
We came here on a Sunday afternoon, and the place was packed. We ordered the Andouille Sausage & Grits and the Burger Mac & Cheese Burrito. The burrito was really creative and delicious. The sausage was a bit hard to chew and tasted like salami, which made it more sour than we expected. We sat close to the Airstream, and for some reason, it smelled like farm animal 💩😓
This place seems 2 always be packed & I just recently found out why. The food is freshly made upon each order, service is fast & made just right. The atmosphere is phenomenal because even with cold weather people actually sit outside with family & friends to enjoy their meal. I recommend any1 go & enjoy sum yumliciously good tasting food whether it's breakfast lunch or dinner I guarantee u'll walk out satisfied & wanting 2 go back.
Super overhyped, place been around for years but need to pay attention to food temperature (Chicken Tortilla soup was barely warm), Meatloaf sandwich was described on the menu as it comes with grilled pineapple (came with a teaspoon of minced pineapple from a jar). Avocado toast with corn and poached egg was on point, same with beer battered onion rings. The best thing we had was Bourbon Milkshake (13$). Will give another try when in the neighborhood, but left disappointed, to say the least. Bring cash, to get 3% discount on the bill
Only one piece of bread cut in half for toast that was so hard that if you threw it at somebody it would have knocked them out. My dish was supposed to have included grilled tomatoes, which I'm still looking for. Full Phoenicia Breakfast | 18 two eggs anyway, sausage, bacon, baked beans, grilled tomatoes, phoenician potatoes, toast Other than that it was pretty good...
I had been here a few times a few years ago and I remembered loving the place, but on my most recent visit, not so much. It was very crowded and very loud, so maybe we just came on a super busy day. It wasn't as clean as I remember it being in the past, both of my glasses were dirty and I just felt like the glassware really needed a deep clean. We went for lunch and were there for almost two hours, mostly waiting for our order to be taken and for the bill to arrive. It may have just been a really busy day but I was a bit disappointed compared to my previous experiences a few years ago. The server told us to split the bill with the cashier but the cashier was kind of spacing out and messed up the split. Although she apologized profusely, it was just another little inconvenience and we left it because we needed to get out of there. I gave 5 stars for food though, because the food is fresh and tastes great, they have great serving sizes, and there are great unique menu options, not just typical diner fare. The atmosphere is that of a diner but the food is restaurant quality, in my opinion. Update - Revisit 02/24/24 We decided to give it another shot after my last visit left me feeling a little ehhhh. The cleanliness definitely wasn't an issue this time, glasses and silverware were both very clean, I think last time was just an off day. We did not get stuck there for an extra long amount of time, and our server and the check out staff were both excellent and personable. The place was definitely just as loud as last time though, where it was actually quite comical that we felt we were yelling to hear each other over the crowd and the very loud music. Music was good though. Food was also still sooo good. I edited to a 5 star rating for service and I still stand by my 5 star rating for food. New photos added.
Definitely good food but not with a special drive. We got the giant ledge and the pulled pork mac and cheese. The potatoes were the best part of the omelette. The bread crumbs were not good on the mac and cheese unless they were in the bbq sauce , which oddly was not on the pulled pork.
Enjoyed our lunch at Phoenicia diner. The staff was very friendly, we requested booth seating and were accommodated. The food was pretty good. Unfortunately the diner has no appetizers. Their side orders could be served as an app so we got beer battered onion rings. They were pretty good. I enjoyed my burger, but wish it had cheese.. I didn’t realize until I got my order and didn’t want to overwhelm the kitchen to remake it. If you want cheese on your burger, ask before. Not sure if they have but doesn’t hurt to ask. Overall a good experience.
Busy diner open only between 8am and 6pm. Clean with a vintage flavor. Decent prices. Cinnamon roll is dry. My dining companion didn’t enjoy their meatball sandwich nor the chocolate shake or bread (thinks it needs salt.) Likes the muffins. Hot chocolate was good. Enjoyed the eggs. Potatoes were overdone.
Do not go out of your way to come here lol. We were influenced by TikTok and thought the diner itself is cute I guess, but the food is very mid. Not really seasoned, lackluster...
I know it's a busy weekend, but my food came out cool, while everyone else's was warm to hot. \n\nThe bacon was so greasy and too undercooked for my liking, but that's on me for not specifying. T…

Cool place but, man, the food was terrible. Definitely did not match how it looked. If you are in the area already, stop by for a drink. We made the drive out specifically to visit and unfortunately the food just wasn't worth it. I have wanted to go here for years and it did not meet my expectations. I couldn't even cut through the eggs benedict. Also, there WILL be a wait. It gets packed, even on a random weekday.
Nice diner, friendly service but they could not get fried eggs without runny yolks right. My wife had ordered medium eggs. When it has come out runny she asked if they could cook it so the yolks weren't runny. They remade the eggs but it was still runny as the first. She asked if they could just give her eggs that had hard yolks. The third time, one would expect to be correct but the eggs were still as runny as the first. She finally gave up and ate around the yolks, resulting in a disappointing experience. The rest of our meals turned out fine. I had also ordered a coffee which never came.
Wonderful atmosphere, we ate outside with all the fall trees in beautiful weather and surroundings. Cold brew coffee was pretty solid. The food was pretty meh especially given the cost, it felt low end diner quality but at higher end prices. I got a bagel with smoked trout and also a breakfast sandwich with eggs ham and tomato jam. Trout was good, bagel less so. I wasn’t expecting an NYC bagel but was expecting something at least better than a supermarket bagel. The sandwich was pretty good. Potatoes though were soggy and kinda gross. All around, good for the vibes but not the best for food.
Drove an hour and a half on a recommendation from friends…. Who went with me. A quaint older diner with a decent amount of seating. From what I can tell this place gets packed!! Indoors and outdoors. Service was good and quick for taking our order but one of the meals was MIA for several minutes. Enough for my amazing corned beef hash to get wayyyy too cooled off and my toast trash. The corned beef hash is a medium sized skillet and I ordered sourdough toast. Which was swapped with the other order of white toast. And it’s only one slice of bread cut in two. The missing breakfast was a bummer. The pancakes were very good but when you pay $14 for 5 pancakes and 4 are the size of a small cup saucer and the middle one like a silver dollar again I was bummed. This place has huge potential but if mistakes are made it too will go by the wayside of old diners who just get along and make it. Would I drive and hour and a half again? Probably in hopes of a near perfect experience…..

Drove by many times, never stopped in until today, Tuesday late afternoon. On weekends, this place is always over-packed so I had to find out what was attracting all the locals and tourists. Extens…
I was disappointed with this place considering the reviews were good. First off, no American cheese, only Swiss and cheddar. No raisin toast either, only tomato juice no v8 but those were easy to accept!! Food comes out looks ok but once you start eating it it’s not. I got a western omelette with wheat toast and their famous home fries. Home fries clearly sat on the stove way too long as well as the dry omelette. Toast was super crusty and dry considering the glob of butter they slabbed on the middle. My husband felt bad and shared his meal with me but warned me it wasn’t good either. French toast tasted like white bread. Bacon was stiff haha. Anyways not my thang or my husbands.
This place used to be amazing. The food was average. Not bad but kind of what you'd expect at an average diner. The staff just couldn't be bothered. I'd rather wait a little longer and have someone attentive than someone just trying to turn over tables. I asked if I could substitute some sides (I have some food allergies) and I was told "the options are what they are, you can only pick one". I ended up having to separate the food myself. Now I'd be ok with that but it was the rush and the attitude that annoyed me. The bourbon milkshake was really delicious. I'd probably return for that. The Phoenician potatoes were regular potatoes. The eggs Benedict was good too.
If you are not a local skip this place as they will favor locals in the waiting list for a table, today they seated three same size parties that had came in after us before we got seated we waited…
I mean, this overpriced pig roast, the overpriced drinks, whoever decided to put the poorly cooked pig right next to the poorly staffed bar. Everyone I come here I wonder why it is so popular.
