The burgers were extra greasy but otherwise cooked to perfection. It was delicious. The fries are scrumptious! Salad was really fresh and crisp and the deep fried develed eggs were surprisingly tasty!

This was a fantastic find! Sat outside, fantastic weather (3 Aug). Waitress did fantastic job (Raiin)! Had blueberry cobbler sour/hazy IPA/espresso martini. Food was the jackfruit tacos and cauliflower sliders... All very yummy. The music was right-on target, and a perfect volume (enjoyable, but still able to talk in a normal voice... Thanks!) We could see making this a hangout, if we did not live 500 miles away!

Me and my fiancé went out for date night up to Mount Washington. I had this place on my bucket list to come We had few drinks and something small to eat. We like the open doors. It did rain but was nice and refreshing. We had the smokehouse fries. I also had kicking mule and espresso martini and my fiancé had two peach cobbler martinis. The bartender working Saturday night was extremely friendly. We will be returning. There is a parking lot behind and it’s not horrible price to park. $12 bucks but I think it worth it.

We visited this restaurant after a trip on the Duquesne Incline. It was a spur of the moment stop. We are so glad we tried it. The staff was all super friendly and the service was quick. Our group ordered a pizza, a bowl and grilled cheese. Each dish was very good. The prices were very reasonable. We would definitely stop again if we are in the area.

My new favorite place to eat on Mt. Washington for sure. All the food was absolutely phenomenal, the Buffalo Brussel sprouts, the grilled cheese, and the wings and fries were so so so delicious I can't recommend it enough. So much flavor and actually care and attention put into the food. I will certainly be back. Very conveniently located directly across from the Duquesne incline too! Cool atmosphere, nice bar, just all around 5 star experience. Our server was very kind and very on top of things too! Highly recommend

Stopped in after the incline ride! Nice place and the bartender was very nice and helpful. Salads were good and the wings were hot and fresh!

We were fortunate to discover the Steel Mill Saloon since it's only been open for 3 weeks. It's positioned right across from the incline, convenient for tourists who want a bite and a beer after having gazed over the Pittsburgh skyline. We requested to be seated upstairs so we could get glimpse of the overlook to which the host obliged. Though it's across the street, there's still a good view. I hope they consider high top tables for the windows going forward. The food was excellent. We ordered appetizers. Beautiful presentation and taste on the items my girlfriend and I shared. They were out of the beer I ordered; disappointing for me but a good sign they're turning over what's on tap. Service was very friendly and the bathrooms were clean.

The bartender Becky went above and beyond to help us celebrate a friend birthday! I had vegetarian options, so it made me very happy - had the veggie pizza and jackfruit tacos !! Appetizer Brussels sprouts.. with their Buffalo sauce ! Good stuff

Perfect location, right across the street from the Incline. Great views from the upstairs dining room. Great selection of taps and canned beers, lots of local options. The avacado bruschetta appetizer was amazing. Sandwiches were very good, generous portions. Staff were all very nice. You can make reservations directly on Google Maps. They also had Blantons bourbon behind the bar, but I didn't ask the price.

The place was wonderful! The cafe is very clean, not dirty, the food was very tasty (although the burger was almost not salty, but for me it was a plus), the employees are kind, not in a hurry. I came here with my family (it is unlikely that we will be there again because we live in another state) I love this place! It may look like a bar, but it's a cute cafe ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

The Steel Mill Saloon is a great little place to stop by. They even have a second floor that has a great view overlooking the city. The people here were friendly and very welcoming. If you get the chance to stop here on your travels I hope you get the bartender Lydia. She’s a hard working mom who is going to school and I was so impressed by all the things she is accomplishing. It was nice to conversation with people who weren’t surface level. I also met a couple guys here who seemed like great people too. Great place to stop by and she hooked me up with some Run Chata drink that was delicious.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. The pretzel with beer cheese was really good. They also know how to cook a burger to the temp requested. Most places overcook a burger, but they nailed it. Good food and a neat atmosphere.

Popped here this evening for their Monday half price pizzas. So worth it, even at full price! Had the buffalo chicken and BBQ. Great happy hour also! Huge thanks to the team great service, friendly.

Checked out the incline, and had a birthday drink with the wife. The Bloody Mary bar was outstanding. I made a very tasty bloody mary. The service that we got was excellent. Mia was very nice and attentive and made the celebration for my wife very enjoyable. Highly recommend this place if you are in the area.

Nice bar spot at the top of the incline. We had some nachos and simple drinks. The staff were very friendly and the food was very good.

This place was such a pleasant find at the top of the incline ride! Highly recommend the wings and the warm baked burrata, both excellent! The staff were attentive and polite, including our server Bridgette. If you’re on the fence, definitely stop in, they have a great cocktail and beer selection too!

Our new favorite spot!! Perfect place to go to if you want amazing drinks and food that complements them well. Having dined at the other establishments in this neighborhood, I can say that Steel Mill is the best value while still providing amazing views. Plus, there is parking right next to it (for a small fee). Can't wait to return!

What can I say? Wow! The food was fantastic. The atmosphere was quiet. Service was spot on. Highly recommend coming here. Get the Ahi tuna tacos. The absolute best!!

Happened upon this spot while sightseeing in Pittsburgh, and what an unexpected little gem!!!! Drinks were amazing, and they had a Bloody Mary Bar set up. I'm so mad we had already eaten breakfast by the time we got here because their menu looked so good!!!! Another must try if your in the area

I have to give a huge shoutout to Sheyeanne, the bartender who absolutely crushed it this evening. Despite having a full bar and juggling a bunch of tables all at once, she handled everything with grace, speed, and a genuinely warm attitude that made everyone feel taken care of. Sheyeanne managed the kind of high-pressure environment that would challenge even the most seasoned pros. She stayed calm, organized, and incredibly attentive to every guest—never missing a beat. Drinks were made perfectly, orders were spot-on, and her sweet, accommodating demeanor didn’t falter for a second, even while clearly hustling behind the bar. It's rare to come across someone with such a natural talent for customer service, multitasking, and hospitality. If I were running this place, I'd want a dozen more just like her. Sheyeanne deserves recognition for going above and beyond—she’s a true asset to the team.

I have been visiting Pittsburgh my entire life and yesterday was the first time taking the Incline. Went to Steel Mill Saloon and had a great time. Drinks were good. Bartenders were awesome. I will definitely come back and recommend this establishment to friends and family.

Walked in with large party of 14, they gave us the entire upstairs and the view was great. Service was great too. We got a light lunch and some adult drinks. Would like to check out the downstairs if ever back in the area. Thank you!

In town for a father/son sports weekend. Our Airbnb was a block away from Steel Mill. Needless to say while other options for food/bev were nearby….we visited 3x during our visit. The staff (Noah was especially awesome!!) and food and beer selection (including happy hour specials) were all on point. Great location. Great atmosphere. Great selection. Made our first-ever visit to Pittsburgh even better. I highly recommend!!

Came here after going on the funicular. Food was tasty, though my husband was glad he asked them to put the sauce for his burger “on the side;” neither of us liked it (it was really sweet). The burger itself was good without it. I had a chicken salad, which was flavourful. The place had a nice atmosphere. We were seated downstairs, which was a bit tight (it’s a busy place! Good sign.), but I believe they may have more seating upstairs. Prices were reasonable. We left with happy tummies!

I came all the way from North Carolina to attend a Penguins game. Before the game I wanted to do a little site seeing and try Local restaurants or out that I don't have at home! My Tour guide at the Lift area, suggested that my Dad and I come here for Lunch! The Food was amazing, and our server was very Friendly! If you're ever in town make sure you come here to try out their Burgers, they're ranked one of the best in the City!

Good place to eat after going up the incline. Food was good, service was good, prices were normal for these days. The rueben was good and was a large sandwich. The tacos came with three generously sized tacos. The nachos were good and the pork fries were good. I would give the food above average. Portions were excellent. When you're done eating you can enjoy the view across the road at the observation deck.

Nice place with a historic feel to it. Some of the items are a bit overpriced in my opinion, but they serve quality food. Quite a nice location as well on Grandview Ave. I tried their mushroom Swiss burger with a side of fries. The burger itself was quite good. They cooked the meat well, about a medium or medium well, but it was still juicy and very flavorful. The patty is large and the burger isn’t too bready. Cheese is a bit forgettable but still made for a nice classic burger. Would have liked more mushrooms. The fries they served on the side were very forgettable. Not that crispy. I was surprised by how little they seasoned the fries. If I had sauce, I’d douse them in sauce. You’re also able to get sweet potato fries as a replacement, and maybe those are better. All in all, a solid place for some American food. Very nice location and pretty good food that is a bit on the expensive side.

A very nice place after taking the incline up to the hill, it was just opposite to the incline station. We sat outdoor - and it was a very relaxed time for us after a whole day of sightseeing. The drinks were good and the food was tasty. There was a bunch of people watching ball games in the indoor so the staff was busy helping the indoor service. The staff was nice but it took them some while to handle us.

Cool place to chill with a drink and enjoy the view after riding the incline up. It was a pretty quiet Thursday afternoon. Our waitress didn’t seem to be in a great mood but we still enjoyed our time there. The Hefeweizen from PA was a great beer. Definitely recommend hanging out here for a bit after your ride up.

Nice spot to drop in and enjoy a drink or brunch. We joined for brunch. The breakfast pizza was very good. Portion sizes are very good/large with some dishes being able to be split depending on how hungry you are.

Immediate seating for our party of 10. They moved the tables around to accommodate. Great prices for great food! Jamaican jerk tacos were delicious paired with a melon margarita! Fun atmosphere with large open doors, seating on a wrap around deck and inside. Restrooms are well kept, however only 1 person use. Great walking distance to the inline with a beautiful view of Pittsburgh city.

Great little restaurant/bar located across the street from the Duquesne incline. If you are looking for a relaxing meal with a fantastic view of the city, this is your place! They offer both indoor and outdoor seating and have multiple TV's. The menu is large with so many great options to choose. It made it difficult, but, I elected to have the black and blue steak salad. It was as good as it looks! I don't think I could have gone wrong with any menu items as they all looked great! They have a large beer and cocktail menu to please everyone! Great service and great views and reasonable prices for the portion sizes.

We enjoyed ourselves here. It is a busy place, especially downstairs, but your best views are upstairs. However, you may be forgotten up there. The food is better than good, not great. Drinks are very good. Pretzel appetizer and dipping sauce is good. I should have gone with a different option. The reuban was okay. I would good back again.

Nice spot if you can get table upstairs by the window or downstairs where it’s more lively. Clean bathrooms. Friendly but kind of slow service. Most of the food we had was tasty but the pizza wasn’t great and the burrata wasn’t soft in the middle at all. Nice that they had some mocktail options for teens.

M

Service with a smile but disappointed with the food. Burger suggestion was less than expecte with habanero jalapeno and ghost pepper i was expecting heat.. The Spicy burger was not at all spicy and just ordinary. My rank is very forgiving. Service and atmosphere included. ...

Stopped here for lunch on Sat. Great service, My daughter and I had the bourbon bacon burger, and my wife had the BBQ chicken pizza, our burgers were cooked a perfect medium and both liked them and my wife absolutely loved her pizza . Oh and the fried devil eggs were bagging! And damn good bloody Marys.

Steel Mill has few kinks to iron out since they just opened but overall I think this place is a great addition to the neighborhood. I’ll start with the pros: All of the staff was very friendly. I had the impossible burger with an espresso martini and my boyfriend had a fish sandwich with a beer. Both of us enjoyed our meals. The espresso martini was REALLY good. We paid about $55 before tip and I feel like that was a fair price. A few cons that won’t stop me from going back, but that I hope steel mill can work out over time. The biggest thing is that they have a V for vegan next to an ahi tuna taco on the menu. Anything that is sourced from an animal is not vegan. I’m not sure if this was a menu typo or a misunderstanding. We were not given a bill at the end. Our waitress just offered to run my card (I had to ask her what the total was) and then didn’t print a receipt (I’m sure she would have if I had asked). Not a huge deal, but not something I’d ever experienced at a restaurant before and there were no prices listed next to any of the drinks. Overall, a fun and friendly atmosphere with good food and yummy drinks. I’m happy to see this place finally open and we will for sure be back :)

A very enjoyable place for elevated bar food, Pittsburgh-alike bar atmosphere and a great wing. They are going for the more uppity approach on Mt Washington it is going very well. I frequent there Wednesday wing night, and I like to go sit at the bar or on the top any other day. With lots of competition in the area, I wasn't sure years ago how they would do, but the answer is clear now that they are a Grandview staple. I specifically enjoy the French dip when I'm there for dinner, the fried deviled eggs and the Ahi tuna tacos. Their brunch menu is very well done, and their wing sauces are a weekly returning factor. Parking is challenging but that's not there appeal and the pizza is mediocre. Good drinks and prices within reason.

The new waitress Lisa is very attentive and nice. The food menu has 'different' items that drew my attention and made me want to try them the good is good but not spectacular. They played a nice variety of different genres. Overall it was enjoyable and worth my time.

J
Jessica Holloway

The hostess had an attitude, but the server was great. The food was excellent! The place could use a bit of cleaning. The floors were dirty and the restroom walls were a bit gross and the garbage can was over flowing onto the floor. With the location that they have they could definitely step up their game a little.

S
Sean Richards

Wings were good. Pizza was terrible. It was cold and lacked flavor for a Margherita. Tacos were cold and not even half filled and the soft shell was hard as a rock. The server was great. No complaints there at all. Super nice and welcoming.

L

I had a Blue Inferno Burger which was pretty good. Nice and spicy. My wife had a Grilled Cheese Lux which was mostly bread and very little cheese. I mean it's a grilled cheese sandwich. Shouldn't the cheese stand out a bit? I saw another review that said there was very little cheese as well so this is not the exception. I also found it odd that they chose to serve our entrees on what I would consider a dessert plate rather than a dinner plate. Maybe they were short on plates that night. It was kind of cramped and I had to move everything around to make room for some ketchup on my plate.

S
Stephen Legath

Came here when it first opened and the food was rather bland and service was pretty terrible, but figured they had to work out some new restaurant kinks as most places do. Decided to give them another shot last night while up on Grandview for the fireworks. Service has improved a bit but sadly the food has not. Ordered the $11 lettuce wraps and they came out looking old (see picture). As they were slammed with guests up there for the 4th, we just opted not to eat them and ate the other apps we ordered. Overall, cool atmosphere, great location but the food is meh, drinks are expensive for what you get and the service is average. Much better options in Mt. Washington including Bigham Tavern, Summit and Gordos.

A
Anamaria Ferrer

Food was very disappointing. The grilled cheese lux was more bread than cheese and slightly cold. There was nothing “luxurious” with that meal. The pizza tasted like a frozen store bought pizza. We also had a burger with fries, that was the only good meal that we ordered.

L
Laura Hobbs

Ordered the salmon burger and sweet potato fries and they were pretty good. We had a table upstairs by the window, so the view was great. Unfortunately, they delivered the whole tables food except one person's and we still didn't receive it even after we all finished eating. The waitress was nice, but there isn't a reason why it would take longer than the 30 minutes it took us to eat plus the 30 minutes we waited for food for an entire person's meal not to be served.

M
Meghann Tucker

We’ve been to the Steel Mill Saloon twice now and unfortunately wouldn’t go back again. The first time was fine. Service was a little slow, but the food was generally good. I didn’t think it was anything extra special or amazing, but it was good enough that we went back. The second time we went though, we didn’t get our food until more than an hour after we’d been seated. There wasn’t an abundance of food that needed to be brought out, or a lot of people in the restaurant either to cause some delay. On top of the long wait, when the food did come out, most of it wasn’t even warm anymore. It didn’t taste particularly good cold but we were all too hungry to wait for anything else. On top of that, the waitress never even came back to see how things were or refill waters after the food came out. It was really disappointing.

A
Amanda Gonzales

Food was decent but lube warm. Waited 30 mins foe one sandwich. Never returned to table after food served. Waited anthwr 20 mins for ticket and glass of water after we asked 2 people to let our waitress know we were ready to close out. Had a rude sarcastic 2nd waitress. Definitely not worth our time or money
