Opinions de Kirin Court Plano
Dim sum here was fantastic. The Xiu Mai was massive and very filling. We ordered the shrimp egg rolls, which arrived super hot, crispy and stuffed with shrimp. The fried shrimp balls were also fantastic. The short ribs and the sticky rice were also delicious and flavorful. I am excited about returning to this location again.
Less crowded which is great! No wait time when checked in around 1:30pm on Saturday. The parking is easy. The food is great! The servers are friendly and attentive.
DFW needs a solid dim sum restaurant and this place did not disappoint! Food was excellent, Service was very good, and the place was clean, well lit, and furniture was new. Ambience was great too! I came to the soft opening (Nov 25th, 2025) of Kirin Court's new Plano location (off Custer Rd) and was pleasantly surprised. All of the dim sum dishes were fresh tasting, seasonings were applied accurately, and service was attentive and helpful. I'm definitely coming back!!
I celebrated my birthday here with my family and we had a wonderful experience. John, our host, was amazing — he gave great menu recommendations, was very attentive, and even brought us extra buns. The restaurant is spacious and a great spot for group gatherings. Highly recommended!
I have been going to Kirin Court for at least 10 years and am so happy that there is a second location now. To me this is the best dim sum in Dallas and now in Plano. Also, please try ordering the Peking Duck. There is the main course with steamed buns but there is also a second course with a duck stir fry and lettuce leafs. This is one of my all time favorite dishes. Great place for larger groups because they can seat 10 people at one large round table without issues.
I love the new location! It seems like a larger space and more updated. We ate there a week ago, on a Sunday at 10am. I'm glad we got there early to beat the rush. The food was lovely, as usual. I felt the service was much better than I've ever had at the Kirin Court venues. The waiters were especially attentive: asking if we needed anything, if everything was okay, and filling our water glasses. I hope this continues because it's a step up. I did notice that the variety of dim sum offered from the carts increased around 11 (towards the end of our meal). Other than that, I was very pleased with the new venue. Looking forward to bringing my friends and family back!
I’m leaving this review after my second visit to this new location. The Dim Sum has improved significantly since their opening week. While the service is better, the staff could still benefit from a bit more experience and training.
Excited, I arrived at Kirin Court Plano. The venue was spacious and bright, with a large parking lot 🅿️, so much more convenient than the old location. Today I ate the classic "Crystal Shrimp Dumplings", "Radish Cake", and "Steamed Spare Ribs with Black Bean Sauce". Ah! I was hungry. I ate, but didn't have time to take pictures, yet the taste remained unchanged.
Amazing Dim Sum Place in Texas. Server was attentive. Food was Excellent, Hakau, Shumai, Tripe, Shrimp Rice Cake, Chicken feet, Bbq Pork Wrapped, Egg Tart, Mango Pudding, Pineapple bun, Sesame Ball, we love them all :) Congee and Hot Tea was awesome. The taste really similar when we had Authentic Dim Sum in Hong Kong. We've tried many Dim Sum Places in big City such as NYC, CHI, SFO, and LAX, and this place in DFW was one of the BEST in this country. Definitely we will be back.
Great experience at the new location. They are still getting a little settled but everything was delicious and quick for our large group lunch today. Very friendly service. Plenty of easy parking and large dining tables. Bathrooms were nice and it seemed to have everything else. We will be coming back a lot!!
Very bright open and spacious new location. The dim sum offerings and tastes were similar to thr original location.
The restaurant has a spacious, bustling dining room that immediately sets the tone for a lively and energetic experience, especially during peak dim sum hours. It truly feels like a place where families gather and celebrate food together. The dim sum selection is extensive and consistently delicious. Favorites like shrimp har gow, siu mai, BBQ pork buns, and rice noodle rolls are freshly made, flavorful, and served hot. The ingredients taste high-quality, and the balance of textures and flavors is exactly what you’d expect from a well-established Cantonese kitchen. Beyond dim sum, their dinner menu also offers excellent seafood and classic stir-fry dishes that are perfect for sharing.

I love this location. Excellent food and good service ❤️

Food was delicious and plentiful. The carts came often and we're always fully stocked. Quality was amazing! Everything was very fresh and tasty. Staff was very professional and courteous. I believe the owner was sitting right next to us or at least it felt as if the family knew everyone working there. All in all a fantastic place to go on a date or bring family and friends. We will surely be back often this year.
We had an amazing experience. The food was so yummy and the staffs were so nice and helpful. We went there during the busy hours but all the staff were trying to make their customers comfortable. A must try place. This place is as good as their Richardson location and we are their regular customers for the past 6 years or more. Its more spacious and lots of parking space which is a plus. We love this place.

I was nervous to go after reading some reviews about slow service and cold food, but very glad we risked it! We went on Saturday morning at 1100 and were seated right away. The restaurant was about 75% full at that time. The people with carts showed up right away and we got our favorite dishes immediately. The food was fresh, hot and very yummy! We never felt wanting for an opportunity to order more. The carts kept coming around. My only “complaint” was that they did not refill our water, and it wasn’t until the end of it our meal did we get it refilled. The waitstaff was polite, and I really appreciated the server lady pointing out that the gratuity was already included in our final bill since our party consisted of greater than 6 people. When we left (around 12:30), it was completely packed, and tons of people waiting - like maybe forty to fifty people ! Would highly recommend going here , but perhaps go earlier in the day to avoid the rush. So glad to have a Kirin Court near our house now!
This location is so much better than the Richardson one. I’ve been dinning with them for over 15 years! The foods here are fresh and the service is great! Jimmy (the manager) and John are great! This new Kirin dim sum spot feels completely upgraded compared to the Richardson location. The space is modern, the service is smoother, and the food tastes fresher all around. Har gow, siu mai, and baked buns are noticeably better—lighter, hotter, and more consistent. If the old Kirin didn’t wow you, this new one will. A much-needed refresh and a great dim sum stop. Update: came back to 2nd time - food tasted differently from soft opening. Very disappointed. It seems the quality control is not consistent yet
Awesome Dim sum here also... authentic flavours

Love the new location!!! The food tastes great'!! We did get some dishes that were cold, but if you stick with the steamed dishes, they'll be hot. The service is great. Lighting is fantastic. Place is clean. I'd recommend it!!
Food was great, except we waited on Shu Mei and chicken feet for a long time. The dumplings came finally after an hour. Chicken feet never came. Granted we were there on a Saturday. We'll return and give them another shot, since the other location has soooo much wait time to even get seated
Went around 3:00pm and it’s still quite busy. The dimsum is delicious but just wish they’d have them piping hot when served, most of ours were served warm and almost cold. Wait time for food may take some time, but otherwise the atmosphere is nice, bright, and the staff are friendly.
Very tasty and delicious food. The dimsum carts were very nice and had lots of quick options. Had to wait a long time for a table, but it was worth the wait. Would go again!

I feel as if I must have ordered the wrong items, I was expecting better food and service based on the recommendations of others. We ordered the fried rice, soup dumplings, panfried dumplings, glutinous pork dumpling, and green pepper with shrimp paste. The fried rice and soup dumplings were bland. The glutenous pork dumplings were light on pork. The panfried dumplings and green pepper with shrimp paste were pretty good. The real issue here is the service. Our small order took about an hour to come to our table, with dishes coming one at a time every 10-ish minutes. All while the restaurant was only halfway full. I would wait a few months to give this place a try.

Pretty disappointed in this place. - Atmosphere looked like a low level banquet hall. Cheap and not very clean. - Food was missing taste. Egg rolls were dripping with oil and basically tasted like oil. Hot and sour soup was bland. They didn’t have fried wontons which is very odd to me. So texture was off and flavor not as good as other places. Soup dumplings were hard, again not what I am use to from other places around town. They also didn’t have the normal sauces on the table that we normally find in other places. We typically drive to Jeng Chi in Richardson but wanted to give a neighborhood place a try. There have been a few of these places opening as of late and nothing comes close to them Drinks and food $$ more than other places too. Not worth another go if you ask me. I will drive to Jeng Chi to leave full and happy.
My bf and I visited in on a Friday night date, and we have never been to a Kirin Court location before, but are regular dim sum enjoyers. It wasn’t too busy, and we got seated immediately. We ordered ~5 items, items that, for the most part, we get every time we go to a dim sum place. I just have to say it: this is pretty much the worst food quality dim sum I’ve had in the area. All the food was bland, room temperature, and took ages to come out. Our last dish took over an hour. After we ordered, waitstaff was also generally inattentive, only showing up to refill water. We have many other favorites in the area that are better for $60+, namely Zhang’s Kitchen. I do not have an interest in returning.
