My wife and daughters love the sides here, and of course, the steaks are amazing. Since my wife and I don't eat huge portions, we usually share a steak—and they always offer to serve it already split onto two plates. No other steakhouse has ever offered that! This Valentine's Day 2026, Rogelio took great care of us. Highly recommended!
My husband and I had Christmas early dinner here today. It was busy but extremely well organized. We made reservations because of Christmas. Gregory was our server and he was amazing. Very professional, pleasant and accommodating. The food and service was excellent despite the holiday.
Jo Jo was our server and provided exceptional and attentive service. Steaks were cooked to perfection, appetizers and bread delicious and fresh. Draft beer very cold. Great dining experience!
I normally do not review chain restaurants. The food, apps, salad and beverages were all good as usual. However, our visit was made especially great because of Christine who waited on us. She was very professional, witty, and her timing was impeccable. We asked her to give us some time to enjoy our mushrooms before ordering our main courses. She did just that and all of the good came out perfectly and we never felt rushed - as some restaurants try to do these days. Thank you Christine for making our date night very enjoyable.
We had gone to a different restaurant but they were closed til dinner so we googled for an alternative. We settled for Saltgrass in Plano. This was a birthday treat by a good friend . One of the servers just stood at their spot at the entrance without saying a word . A little courtesy can go a long way. When a different server or hostess came by, she greeted us and then apologized for the delay. She then seated us where we had requested. Our server Jojo was amazing and friendly. She clearly knows her stuff and talks to her customers with respect. She knows her way around and loves interacting, always checking to make sure everything is okay. Jojo is simply a gem.
Our server, JoJo, was absolutely wonderful—so nice and attentive, and she made us feel truly welcomed. She kept our drinks filled and went out of her way to make my son’s birthday special. The food was excellent as well—the steak was perfectly cooked and delicious, and the fried mozzarella and smoked mac & cheese were amazing. We had a great experience!
Our server Kaila was wonderful—so kind, attentive, and welcoming. She really knew the menu well and made sure our drinks were always refilled. The food was, as always, delicious. The Frozen Crown & Coke was also great! My favorite dish is the baby back ribs, and my husband loves the filet.
On a weeknight, this is our go-to for a good steak dinner because there is usually not a wait. Recently, we had such an extra wonderful experience.Started with the bread and then a queso appetizer, drinks, and then salad and finally, steak and potatoes. It was all good, flavorful and colorful and nice, but what made it great was the staff. They all seemed invested in helping people get the most out of their time at the restaurant and doing their best to anticipate needs or wants. We were really impressed! That said, I fell in love with the wedge salad. It brings back memories of cold iceberg lettuce at roadside diners, but this Saltgrass version is next level. The steaks are good, American fare without being pompous. Okay, maybe the amount of butter they slather on the meat is ridiculous, but it actually isn't pompous. It's perfect. Wish we had room for cheesecake dessert, but we almost never do. We're keeping Saltgrass on our list of favorites!
Easily among one of my top 5 most favorite restaurants here in Texas, and has become a Christmas tradition due to the delicious food and it’s STRONG mountain feel to it. I love it! The fireplace and candle lanterns mixed with the stove structure is one of the best visual esthetics I’ve ever seen. If only we got some snow falling and the image of this restaurant is Perfect! The chicken tenders and fries are great. The service is both top notch & friendly. And even their dishes are well designed, which I truly do hope they can offer in the future cause I really like the design of their heavy ceramic plates. If they sold them then I would definitely buy them. Highly recommended to anyone who likes good quality restaurants, and to the people who served me and my folks earlier today, have yourselves a very Merry Christmas! ^-^ ❄️🎄🎅🏻🎁❄️
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently visited this place, and I was absolutely impressed! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the staff is friendly and attentive. The steaks were fantastic — perfectly cooked and incredibly juicy. The sides and desserts are also worth trying — everything is top-notch! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates quality meat and excellent service.
Lunch was perfect. My family enjoyed every bite. Our waiter was friendly, kind, attentive. Went above and beyond for us. I don’t remember his name but he was amazing. He’s a keeper! Delicious food, the only thing a I would say is it took a long time for our food but it was worth the wait.
It was our 1st date in the New Year! It's one of his favorite restaurants. It surprisingly wasn't that busy on NEW Years night so we were seated immediately. The food was great, presentation on the plate was blah, BUT our server was wonderful...Thank you HANNA! AND...we were seated in the back corner by the heater which was fabulous, so it was nice and toasty. GREAT TIME, NEW YEAR, NEW LOVE, NEW MEMORIES!
Saltgrass has great bread and butter provided. Their fried jalapeño and friend pickles appetizers were awesome.

I recently visited Saltgrass and ordered the blackened redfish topped with grilled shrimp, paired with a classic baked potato. The fish was well-seasoned with a nice balance of spice and flavor, and the shrimp were grilled just right—tender and tasty without being overcooked. The baked potato was fluffy on the inside with all the traditional fixings, making it a hearty and satisfying side. What really stood out was the service. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was to my liking without being intrusive. While I wouldn’t call it an exceptional or gourmet-level meal, it was solid, flavorful, and enjoyable overall. Between the welcoming atmosphere, decent portion sizes, and attentive customer service, it made for a pleasant dining experience worth repeating.

The service is good; however, the steak is not the best. I've had better for the money you are paying. I had the Iron Flank with spicy shrimp. I left the steak; it had no flavor, and my husband had the T-bone. It was not the best. We were visiting from out of state and had been there before, but the quality has gone down.
The service was mediocre at best. Let’s just start there. Service is the number one thing for me. If you drop the ball there, I’m done, and nothing else really matters. First of all, as a waiter, don’t bring items to a table of four, for just three people, and then dismiss the guest’s request for said items. (Side note: she never brought them.) Secondly, check on your table more especially when the restaurant is at 40% (give or take). When you don’t, you make it seem as though “my” presence is irrelevant or a nonfactor for you. My reservations rang true when the waiter brought out cold food to my wife and me. There’s no way she could have thought that was okay. I don’t know how much my wife tipped, but if it was my call, I would have had a conversation with the manager explaining why my usual MINIMUM 25% was not being given to that waiter. We traveled over 200 miles to enjoy some getaway and have dinner with friends, and this is the result. I’ll be treating my wife to another steak dinner this week at Red Flame Steak & Grill and I promise we won’t receive the same lack of service and consideration as we did last night. I will say, the Cajun Ribeye steak and smoked mac and cheese were good. Although they placed my wife’s broccoli on my plate when they brought our food back out (her food was cold too), we were satisfied with the flavors. Again — service is the most important aspect of the dining experience.

I enjoy eating at Saltgrass and have gone to several locations. I decided to give this one a try because it was close to where I was. This location was less than usual on the food quality. Started out with an order of 4 Range Rattlers and it looked like there were 2 on the plate. 2 were the normal plump size and the other 2 were kind of de constructed and small. No big deal, even though they are not cheap. Then my tortilla soup. They were out of the tortilla strip chips so just brought it plain. No mention of it before I ordered or asking if I wanted to substitute. The steaks came, they were just ok, I ate every bite but they were a little overcooked. All together I can say it was average. The waitress was nice and I tipped her well. If you are in a rush this place is OK but I find the location on 75 near 635 to have much better service, cleaner restrooms, and better food. The one off 30 in Rockwall or Rowlette/ across Lake Ray Hubbard is also very good. I just wasn't impressed with this location.
Atmosphere and service are great. The food is disastrous and it was the absolute worst meal I've ever received at a steakhouse restaurant. Drink was undrinkable. So sweet, even watering down several times made it no more palatable. Salad was swimming in dressing. Got about a third of the way through before giving up. Steak was overcooked (asked for medium, it was well done) and had no seasoning or flavor and had no hints of broil or grill. It looked steamed - tried one bite and set it aside. Broccoli was waterlogged also with no favor. The 4 shrimp were tolerable. It's the only thing I finished that night. Paid for it because the service staff are on point. Should have otherwise walked away.
I've been to a few different locations over the past 8 years so and here is why Saltgrass gets two stars from me this last time. I would normally give it three. Here is what happened during my last visit.. 1. I asked the hostess for a booth for three adults. She said she had a half booth with seats available on one side. As she walked us to the table, I noticed an empty booth right next to the half booth she was taking us to and said, "Can we just get this full booth? (The half booth was right in the walkway)?" She rolled her eyes and was clearly annoyed. She said, "sure." I'm thinking, great considering I'm with my 86 year old dad and I want him to be a comfortable as possible. 2. Every time I order a steak from here, it is overcooked. My $39.99 filet was cooked well done when I ordered medium. I don't even care for the filet oscar sauce that they put on their filet oscar! 3. It took 20 minutes to get my drink and by the time I was done with it, I realized that we had not even received bread yet. The bread was not even warm or even that good! I also love bread and I'm not a fan of it from here. 4. The waitress was decent, but not great for the $250 tab. He did tell me that he hooked me up with extra salad, but who wants extra salad before a steak dinner? Not me. 5. Even the mac n' cheese isn't very good from here. As a steakhouse, you should excel. For example, throw some toasted breadcrumbs up on that mac n' cheese or something!!! I recommend just cooking an amazing filet at home versus coming here or just go to a high end steakhouse where things are done the correct way in order to really satisfy a potentially recurring customer. Not a fan.

I’ve eaten at this Saltgrass location on and off the past 6 months and have never had an issue using my military discount. I’ve also had a Landry’s card for nine years, and Saltgrass has been one of my top choices across multiple states I’ve lived in — again, never a problem. Last month, however, an African American manager refused to honor my military discount on my bill. No explanation that made sense. No effort to consult higher management. No attempt to clarify policy. Either he doesn’t know his job, or he didn’t care enough to verify the information before denying it. It was frustrating and unnecessary, especially considering my consistent history with the brand. I visited out of convenience, not high quality food so that incident was the cherry on top for me! That was my last visit to this location. I do not recommend it. I’ll gladly return to the McKinney location, where I’ve always received great service and have left great reviews. Ironically, Landry’s just sent my birthday reward and my first thought was, “I’ll use it at Saltgrass.” Just not THIS one. Do better.
Yesterday evening, around 8:00 PM, my husband and I dined at this Saltgrass in Plano. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had, and I strongly believe the treatment we received was racially motivated. From the start, our assigned server appeared disengaged and inattentive. Over the course of more than an hour, she only came to our table twice on her own, and a third time only after it was clear I was upset. When she first dropped off our drinks, she walked away quickly before I could even request additional items. I had to call her back, but the items I asked for, including a bar drink, never arrived. Our main dishes were eventually brought by another waiter, not our server. By then, my missing items still hadn’t arrived, leaving me unable to enjoy the meal while it was hot. When the server finally returned, I asked her directly not to leave until I could clarify my requests, including replacing the drink that never came. Even then, those items took so long to arrive that my food was cold by the time I was able to take a bite, and that’s the only bite I took of my food. Her treatment felt deliberate, dismissive, and personal, almost as though it was directed at us because of who we are. What could have been a pleasant evening at a restaurant that holds sentimental value for us instead felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. I asked to speak to the manager, who apologized and said he would comp the meal and remove the server from our table. However, he never returned personally. Instead, another server, Jojo, was sent to finish out the visit. In the end, only part of the bill was comped. While I want to be clear that we were prepared to pay in full, the issue was never about money or the food it self, it was about the poor and possibly biased service and the lack of accountability in how it was handled. I also want to note that I worked in the service industry for many years, including at a steakhouse. I understand firsthand the challenges servers face, and I also know what appropriate handling of guest concerns should look like. Because of that experience, I was especially disappointed with how my situation was addressed, both by my server and by management. This restaurant is meaningful to us, as it was the site of my husband’s and my first date years ago. I had even joined the Landry’s Select Club after a great experience in Jojo’s section the week before. But after last night, I cannot see us returning. What should have been a special and enjoyable evening was overshadowed by unprofessional and possibly discriminatory service, coupled with a management response that minimized the seriousness of what occurred. Update: I followed the instructions provided by management in their reply and emailed the address they listed on with all the details they requested. I never received any response or acknowledgment. I only mention this because I was asked to “reach out,” but when I did, no one followed up. At this point, I’m only hoping they’ll adjust the missing Select Club points from my 9/13 visit.
Really can't think of the last time I had a steak this bad before. Ordered the NY strip med rare. Came out and the thing tasted like chewing on cardboard and sandpaper pressed into an OSB. In seriousness, the steak was probably frozen and then cooked. Really not much was edible and what was edible was very bland and didn't have much "steak" taste. I ended up leaving half of it on the plate like chewing cud. Service was also lackluster and forgetful. The drinking glasses had some film of grim on the sides. Salad and sides were alright. All in all, I would rather go to Texas Roadhouse; cheaper and just more fun to eat at. One and done here.
