My partner and I were waiting for a text with a code to a nearby Airbnb, but her phone was almost dead. The workers at Los Machetes went out of their ways to help us charge the phone and we’re just overwhelmingly kind and helpful in a stressful moment! Not only are they good people, but their food is excellent! If you’re looking for a quick, cheap, and overall delicious bite to eat, then this is it. We’ve been twice in a week and have enjoyed every flavor we’ve tried!

Fantastic food at a great price. My wife and I were looking for a tasty late dinner but didn't want to pay the prices you find directly on Quinta Avenita. This place was perfect; the food was cooked to order and the sauces were great. If they had a breakfast menu, we'd be coming here in the morning too.

One of only three places where I went more than once in PDC in two weeks. Good people, good food prepared there in front of you. Good 3 types of sauces. Very straight forward, you can also do half/half which means you can try more. And they don't beg for tips. Price went up thou from what's on older pictures here, it's 90 pesos now and 10 for cheese. Absolutely amazing guy works there too who used to work at Pepsi. So told me some facts about the eternal Coca Cola vs Pepsi lol. Good luck to the owner. Oh and BTW, they are actually open when it says they are open unlike so many other places (including their neighbors) who seem to be opening when they want to open, and not following working hours posted. So go there, try it, you will not regret.

Awesome quesdillas for under 5 dollar us. They're about two feet long so actually worked ou to be three meals for me. 90 pesos total. Sweet Bonitas work there too. Nice people. Great service eat in or to go. She gave me three sauces with it and I mixed all three, and stored in the fridge. Also have Ubereats delivery!!!!

El servicio y el lugar bien, hay estacionamiento techado y mesas en la plaza. La comida buena a secas, nada nos encantó y no tenían todos los guisados que están en el menú, recomiendo las aguas naturales, pero está muy mal que las den en botellas de pet (nada amigable con el medio ambiente). Los precios justos.

Todo bien… pero la tortilla! Le falta sabor a la masa para hacer la tortilla 🙏🏼

$140 for a long taco with a sliver of cheese?! What I ordered was a "Machete," and it's supposed to be a "Long Quesadilla," or at least that's how they sell them in the different places I've tried them. But as you can see in the photo, they put three strands of cheese on it—they wouldn't want to run out! Besides, my friend got sick from the pastor tacos. My "Machete," apart from the cheese, had a smear of beans on it. I thought that was more because of the price... The only thing I will give them credit for is that they put the normal amount of meat on it. Things to improve: Price: I've eaten real "machetes" twice the size of this one for $120. Quantity: Don't be afraid to add cheese and beans. Water: A glass bottle of Coke is cheaper than their bottle of fresh water (Don't add so much water, or the fruit flavor will be lost).

I ordered to-go and the lady who charged my card gave herself a 35% tip which was a lot more than what I authorized. I didn’t realize this until after I left. I really dislike the dishonesty so probably won’t go back since the food was just ok, the bread was stale.

Este lugar me gustaba mucho, pero su servicio al cliente es pésimo y tienen muy malos tratos, siempre están de jeta, por eso lo pedí a domicilio pero después hoy ni eso dos horas para un pedido y cuando les escribes te contestan de muy mala gana como si te estuviera regalando la comida y no te dan alguna solución, se lavan las manos y que se friegue el consumidor

La comida muy rica pero el mesero muy desagradable, nos atendió muy mal, traía aliento alcohólico, por lo mismo no dejamos propina y nos gritó groserías al salir. Qué desagradable momento.

Son una copia de los verdaderos machetes de Playa del Carmen no se dejen engañar.
