We had a lovely dinner at Ar Rayan. The staff were very friendly and helpful. As first time visitors to Mexico, we were thoroughly surprised to come across a halal restaurant. The owner, Nuh, is also the imam in Playa del Carmen, and took his time helping us afterwards with an issue we ran into outside the restaurant alongside others in the restaurant. Overall, we had an amazing experience.

The owner is the founder and imam of the local mosque and also the primary supplier of halal meat to many local restaurants and resorts. Together with his partner, he personally hand-slaughters the animals sourced from local farms. Whether you’re specifically looking for halal food or not, the quality is unmatched—you are getting some of the freshest, best-tasting meat in the region. The restaurant offers both Mexican and Middle Eastern cuisine. We tried the Mexican menu, and every dish was absolutely delicious—full of flavor, perfectly seasoned, and clearly made with care. Even my two teenage boys, who are very picky eaters, loved the food so much that they asked to reorder more. Beyond the food, the experience was truly special. The owner is a perfect gentleman—warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. We enjoyed not just a great meal, but also a wonderful conversation about life in Playa del Carmen, making the evening feel relaxed and memorable. This will be our go-to restaurant every time we visit PDC. To all Canadian and American brothers and sisters visiting Playa del Carmen and looking for an exceptional place for lunch or dinner—halal or not—I highly recommend Ar Rayan Restaurant.

We ate here tonight and the food was excellent. I ordered the chicken masala, and my husband ordered kofte-both were very impressive. I really appreciated that they clearly mention halal food. The restaurant was also very clean. We would definitely come back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit to Ar-Rayan Restaurant!! The restaurant offers a fully halal menu with a wide variety of delicious food items - including authentic Mexican tacos, burritos and quesadillas. We ordered the chicken shawarma, tacos de arrachera, lamb burrito and the quesabirria. Everything was really well and freshly prepared and with good quality ingredients. I would also recommend the Arab lemonade, which was really refreshing. The restaurant is classy and has plenty of indoor seating. And the staff are super friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend visiting Ar-Rayan restaurant :)

Visited earlier this week while on holiday. The food was brilliant. Loved being able to eat authentic halal Mexican food as it was very difficult for us to find anywhere else. Customer service also went above and beyond, all staff are so nice and lovely. They went the extra mile to accommodate to my 2 year old boy. The atmosphere was peaceful and calming. The owner is also extremely kind hearted and doing amazing things for his community. May allah fill this business with barrakah and reward their kindness.

A true gem. Al Rayan offers authentic, flavorful halal food that’s fresh and satisfying. The place is simple, clean, and welcoming, and you feel comfortable right away. I also had the chance to meet the owner, a Mexican imam who converted about ten years ago,genuinely kind and humble. He even invited us to the Friday prayer, which made the experience even more meaningful. The restaurant is still new, so it’s worth coming back again once everything is fully set up. But even now, it’s truly enjoyable to support and encourage the local Muslim community. If you’re looking for great halal food with warm, thoughtful service, I highly recommend this place.

Ar-Rayan Restaurant, to me, is a very valuable place as an inclusive destination in Mexico. As a Muslim, I really love that this restaurant has a certified halal menu, which is a significant advantage given the difficulty of finding such options in Playa del Carmen. I liked the food a lot; it was really delicious, with a perfect mix of Arab, Turkish, South Asian, and Mexican flavors. 🤤 The decoration is very nice and cozy, perfect to go drink tea with your friends, eat something with family, or work on your computer. Plus, they implemented a small prayer space in case any tourist or anyone around the area wants to pray. 🥹♥️ My personal and positive experience in this restaurant was enhanced by the owners and the employees, who are all very hardworking and friendly people. 👏🏻 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

El desayuno fue rico y a buen precio. Mi única queja sería el pan tostado, que estaba muy duro. Todos los desayunos incluyen jugo, café y pan tostado. Los jueves hay desayunos por 100 pesitos!

Fuimos a Rey David con mi novia porque estábamos antojadas de pastas. En el menú se leía todo muy tentador, optamos por una de las promos de 2 platos de fetuchinis con salsa Alfredo con champignones y camarones + refrescos. De sabor estaba muy bien la comida!! Los fideos a punto y la salsa estupenda. Lo único malo, por lo que le bajo estrellas es que tardo mucho en salir la comida y ni siquiera a estaba tan lleno. Tampoco había más lasagna, y nos hubiese gustado probarla, para la próxima.

La pizza que hacen es gorda, es como un pan focaccia con queso y pepperoni arriba. Mide casi una pulgada de gorda. Tiene promos de 2 x 1, son baratas.

Quiza por ser domingo a primera hora, pero los chilaquiles que pedí, nada más insipidos que ni toda la sal que les puse los mejoraron. El jugo muy dulce, Tuve mala suerte.
