Opinions de Haya Ramen Pleasant Hill
A small but very cozy ramen shop! The atmosphere is warm and comfortable, and the owner is always kind and polite. The noodles are delicious, and everything tastes fresh. Highly recommend!
Delicious! The black garlic ramen was an excellent recommendation. Great flavor, the employee who helped me was so friendly, and the service was pretty fast. I’ll be back!
Really good ramen spot. They had a really good broth and they give alot of noodles as well. The egg is also spot on, not to salty not too bland. Would go again. Also there's always parking there
Stopped in one afternoon to try their ramen. The restaurant is nice and clean and service was good. It was about 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon so it wasn’t busy. The ramen was delicious but I could only eat half. I asked for a to go container and he brought me two plastic containers which is genius! In one container I put the noodles and in the other I put the broth. This is essential in order for the noodles not to soak up all of the broth. That way I was able to heat it up the next day and it was still really good. I’m craving it right now as I’m writing this. Must go back again.

Out of all of the local ramen shops I’ve tried I found this one to be the most flavorful and highest quality/fresh. The shop is cute inside with warm lighting. Waiter was prompt with water, requests, etc. Reading the other reviews, it sounds like ownership took note and improved the customer service. I’m not a spicy food person, so I can’t evaluate spice level but they were very accommodating with my requests and you are able to pick your spice level - I’d imagine if you want something spicier they would be happy to add more heat! The food did take a minute, but it was totally worth it.
Cozy atmosphere , really liked the vegan ramen and spring rolls.

Convenient and tasty Ramen spot. Parking spots available in front of stores. Server was very sweet. The appetizer Chicken Karaage was crispy on the outside and tender and moist on the inside. We enjoyed the Takoyaki squid balls that are a tasty Japanese fritter. Our original intention was to quell our Tonkatsu cravings; the Black Garlic Ramen soothed my soul and mellowed out the stress lines in my face. Thank you Haya Ramen!
I really loved my tonkatsu reman bowl that I had here. The pork was sliced very thin and was quite tasty. The corn, red cabbage, and soft egg really added a nice bit of contrast. The service was efficient and attentive. The atmosphere was a bit cramped but didn't detract from the experience!
Nice ramen! I like that they open in the middle of the day and have 4 tables of outdoor seating. The bowl could have had some more seaweed and the egg could have been more uncooked in the center but overall I had a great meal. Brought my dog here and was able to sit outside and relax with the dog while eating and people watching. The server was also super great!
Probably one of the better ramen I have had out of san mateo and sf, wish the spicy tonkotsu was a lot spicer but would probably hit this place up when craving ramen.

Amazing atmosphere, and the Ramen is great. The only problem is the seaweed chip. It was like fish/matcha flavored tissue paper. The Ramen was a good, cozy bowl.

After a long trip from Manila to San Francisco, we stopped by Haya Ramen to satisfy my 6-year-old niece’s craving for ramen. The food? Well, it wasn’t bad—but coming from the amazing Japanese restaurants back home in the Philippines and the authentic spots in Japan, this just didn’t cut it for me. Tempura – Crispy, yes, but it lacked that light, airy crunch I’ve come to expect. The dipping sauce didn’t do much to enhance the experience either. Gyoza – Golden and perfectly fried, but the flavor fell flat. They were fine, but not memorable. Takoyaki – Generously topped with bonito flakes, but the filling was a bit too doughy for my taste. The ramen itself looked good, but the taste left much to be desired. It wasn’t terrible, but it didn’t hit the high notes I was hoping for. I think after being spoiled by the quality of Japanese food back home, this just didn’t quite match up to those standards. Overall, it was an okay meal, but I’ll definitely be on the lookout for a ramen place that delivers the punch we were hoping for after a long flight.
Good place to try if you are around pleasant hill area. I would prefer a bit spicy broth - do ask them for spicy sauce or chilli flakes to enhance flavor. Neat place.

I’ve always been on the lookout for a good ramen place, but unfortunately, this isn’t one I’d come back to. The prices are on the higher side for an average bowl of ramen, and the portions are quite small. I ordered the black garlic ramen, but there was barely any garlic flavor and no garlic, just a mild hint in the broth. The tonkatsu pork was tough and chewy, which was disappointing. The cheapest quality of seaweed. The rest was just okay. What really let me down was the salad, $9 for a small bowl of spring mix with a drizzle of Japanese dressing you could easily find at Safeway, and nothing else. Definitely not worth the price. *I forgot to take a picture prior eating salad*
Unfortunately unable to review the service or atmosphere. The food, especially for the price was subpar. $35 for Chicken Karaage (acceptable) & Spicy Tonkatsu (little to no flavor outside of spice, noodles are thin and bland, meat was dry and also bland) I hate to give it a poor review but mainly due to the gap between price and taste/quality. I hope I just came on a bad day but I’m not here often to try again, and do not plan to.
I feel like for a place with ramen in their name, they should have more than 5 options that are all almost identical, no other meat options aside from pork. When we got here, the lady serving us was very quick to just get inpatient when trying to take our order and was sort of grumpy. At least food came out quick though. But the food itself wasnt even really that good in particular, it reeked of stale oil and tasted slightly burnt at times some how. The egg in my ramen was also very cold in the middle. But also, im concerned for the cleanliness of this place because the soy sauce bottle at the table seems to have no been cleaned in a while, it was very greasy and had some questionable crust in some spots... Can see the photo below for that. So yah I will definitely not be coming back here again, really not much to like about it.

Very Americanized, almost fast foodish version of Ramen. SO many other great ramen places, this just can't compete. Three different versions, all equallt bad. Noodles tastes and ate like partially cooked Ranch99 specials section noodles. Broth? eh. Piece of "chaishu" pork was a bacon thin piece of way over cooked pork. More like a crispy piece of bacon. Seemed like probably grilled to reheat. I don't expect great ramen like I got in Tokyo, but this is a skip. sorry we went there.
I ordered Tonkotsu ramen and gyozo. The ramen was plain, and tastes nothing close to Tonkotsu and aftertaste gives gross oily taste. The gyozo was raw on top and server and owner argued with me it was not raw and edible.

Horrible ramen. Chicken broth may as well be dishwater, and the bamboo shoots had a very odd flavor. All bad, nothing good. I absolutely will not be back, and by the way, there is nothing Japanese about this restaurant at all. It’s dreadful.

The server was very cold and rude. The food was not good either. The portion was very small (if you compare it to a place like Ramen 101). When I asked for my ramen to be served extra spicy, I wasn’t told there was a $2 extra cost to the very small portion of chilly oil that was served. It was also very pricey for the portion. It cost $24 for 1 person - with a request to make it extra spicy(usually doesn’t have a cost) and getting black garlic oil(which I know would cost but $2 was too much for the small portion). Hopefully, they look at the review and try to improve. Definitely would recommend Ramen 101 over this place, the broth is tasty, the portion is big and the people are very hospitable.
absolutely not japanese noodle, it looks Chinese noodle, cheap and little, only a small bowl, and the price is 19 not 15 , too high
