Opinions de Kura Sushi Pleasanton
We finally visited the Kura Revolving Sushi Bar in Pleasanton, and it did not disappoint. It is located in a plaza full of great Asian restaurants, so the competition is strong, but my daughter had been craving the revolving sushi experience and this absolutely delivered. The restaurant is very clean and thoughtfully designed. There is a lot of automation, from ordering to payment, which actually makes the visit pretty easy once you understand how everything works. You can grab plates from the conveyor, order from the tablet, and even check out without waiting around. I would definitely recommend downloading the app ahead of time so you can start earning points. The only downside is that with so much automation, the waitstaff interaction felt a little minimal, and we did feel a bit neglected at times. Still, once you get the hang of it, the self service setup is convenient and fun. I already know we will be back the next time my daughter asks for revolving sushi.
Food and service can be hit or miss but I still love conveyer belt sushi. U can order nigiri with less rice which is nice! The product and food promotions they have every now and then is usually something exciting!
Fun place for quick sushi or small hot plates. This is ideal for kids or people who aren't sure what they want or know the different types of nigiri. We still have fun sliding the plates into the slot for the little prize ball. Chutoro was quite good, new scallop item was yummy, and eel hand rolls were consistent. Prices have gone up quite a bit over the years but not surprising given the current state of the economy. VERY happy I could make an online reservation, which is a change from previous years.
Cool fun place to eat with friends. The conveyor belt is mesmerizing. The offerings on the belt are limited but the electronic menu has many more choices. Partner treated me on my birthday. We got about 20 pieces at $2.75 each Update, we're finally back. Tasty and fresh Update Sept 2025. They have some new sushi dishes for people to try. Their Philadelphia roll which in general comes without any crab meat has crab meat in it. That's just a caution for people of shellfish allergies.
I had a great experience at this sushi restaurant. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. What really stood out was our waitress Sabrina . Sabrina was amazing, attentive, and made the entire meal even more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to coming back.
We come here often & it's a reliable, solid choice. It's not the best sushi I've ever had, but it is good quality & I really like the fact that it's not such a commitment to a huge roll like at other sushi places. The umami oil salmon is my favorite, by far. Service is also consistently good.
So much fun! The staff are really nice. The food is yummy. The giveaways are cool. We love that my autistic daughter can use the screen to order and she loves taking plates from the belt and putting empties in the slot!
Everything is fresh and looks impressive. There is a wide variety of sushi, but my favorite is the garlic ponzu sashimi. The restaurant is well-maintained and clean, and the servers are very friendly. They don’t interrupt too often, which allows you to enjoy your meal peacefully. I also really like Mr. Kur-B, the Kura robot that delivers drinks—such a fun touch!
Fun place to take your family to. Each plate has increased in price a bit (now $4 per plate, ramens are $11), however it is still worth going to. The quality of fish is great for what you pay for. Getting the prize is always a joy to chase. I do like that Kura tries something different every few months. They add new items to their menu, and they do different collaborations to keep things fresh. This time they had the Tamago with cheese and seared mayo on top. It was very sweet and smokey. A unique taste for sure. Worth it to download the app to get on the waitlist early and collect reward points. Although, the reward points expire pretty quickly.
I had a fantastic time at the revolving sushi bar recently! The food was delightful, and the service was top-notch, making the dining experience truly enjoyable. The only suggestion I have is to consider adding music or increasing the volume of the existing music to enhance the already beautiful atmosphere. This small touch could make a great experience even more memorable!
While at Livermore Outlets, I stumbled upon this sushi spot without realizing its unique concept. The restaurant's setup is clean and the ordering process is engaging; with a conveyor belt circling the space, diners can choose to grab plates as they pass by or opt for items from the menu. I found the interactive experience enjoyable and would recommend giving it a try!
First time here and the experience was different and I like different. You start off by signing in on the tablet as you enter so they know how many within the party. We were a party of two, so waiting was like 2 minutes. We were seated at table 11 and the server gave us a quick intro on how to order and how to remove the plate from the revolving belt of dishes. Our drinks were delivered by a robot, which is awesome and nothing I've seen before. You do have to remove the drinks/straw/wasbi yourself though. Overall, the dishes were tasty, although I did not try the raw fishes

We had a great experience at Kura Revolving Sushi Bar! The food was fresh and delicious, the atmosphere was fun and lively, and the staff great. Everything made for a really enjoyable birthday celebration!
The food quality and price reflect each other, which is actually a good sign. It's not the best but it's good and perfect for enjoying with my family. Plus my kids are eating much more Sushi these days and Sushi ain't cheap. The service sometimes takes a minute to get help at the table but overall they are friendly and accommodating.
Once you’ve gone to a Kura in Japan, it’s hard not to compare to the locations in the US. The menu caters to more American tastes in their US locations (duh) - think tempura Philadelphia rolls, California rolls, spider rolls, etc. You either order through the tablet at your table or grab plates from the bottom conveyor belt. Each nigiri plate (2 pieces) is roughly ~$4. Drinks are about the same. The soups are $11-15. For the amount and quality, I’m not sure if it is worth it, but if you just want to experience a conveyor sushi belt restaurant, then it’s fine as a special treat every once in a while. You can play “bikkurapon” by opting in on the order tablet, and sliding your empty plates into the slot at your table. You will get a chance to win a small gacha prize when you reach 15 plates. Once you’re done eating, you have to ‘check out’ on the tablet, and a server will come to you. Unlike Japan, they are missing the hot water and complimentary green tea at each table. Highly recommend downloading the app to make a reservation. The wait times are long if you just walk in. Lots of young families dining here. The bathrooms were clean. Entrance was a little tight, I am not sure if it was 100% accessible.
Kura Revolving Sushi Bar in Pleasanton is similar to all the Kura in California. It offers a fast service. A clean and comfortable dining area with sushi and other small dishes on the conveyor belt next to your table. When they pass through, I usually pick up the dishes that look good and yummy and order more dishes on the touchscreen next to my table. The special order items are super fast delivered to my table on the upper special order belt. It is so convenient and highly efficient. The quality of the sushi is not the best. But it is perfect if you're looking for a quick sushi lunch or dinner.
Kura Revolving Sushi Bar is a unique and innovative dining experience. As the name suggests, the restaurant features a conveyor belt that delivers an endless stream of sushi dishes to the customers. The concept is fun and interactive, making it a great place for a group gathering or a family outing. The menu offers a wide variety of sushi options, including both classic and fusion rolls. The sushi is freshly prepared and the ingredients are of high quality. The portions are generous and the presentation is impressive. The restaurant also offers hot dishes and dessert options, adding to the overall dining experience. The service was prompt and attentive. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu offerings and made excellent recommendations. The atmosphere was lively and upbeat, with a bustling energy that added to the overall enjoyment of the meal. Overall, Kura Revolving Sushi Bar is a highly recommended dining destination for sushi lovers. The innovative concept and delicious food make for a truly unique and enjoyable dining experience. The prices are reasonable, making it an affordable option for those looking for a fun night out. If you're in the area, make sure to check it out!
Service is great, food was not too fresh unfortunately. The place is modern and i mean its a bit pricey now

Dropped by for the first time since they opened. The line was long, waited about an hour. We found the food not fresh and some were over cooked. The sushi rice was loose and fell part when you pick them up. Overall the food is only two stars, but the service was okay. Not sure its worth the wait.
It was crowded, I got bothered by the table behind me, kids were knocking everywhere, the food was good, although the representative should ne more guiding because it is a new process of ordering items, the food was delicious, especially the spicy dishes, NY cheesecake was normal, and the prices was high a little bit in comparison with the portions, I liked the 16 pieces game, and I want to visit it next time.
This is our second Kura location we tried. We came on a Tuesday for a quick dinner date while in the area. The set up is the same as the one in San Jose and similar to the revolving sushi bar in Japan but pricier. lol This location is easy to find and in the Asian plaza across from the San Francisco outlets in Livermore. Plenty of parking. The table where we sat had plenty of sushi coming on the revolving belt. Even our orders that we picked from the screen came out fast. Good thing we came on a weekday. Not good for groups as the tables here are small. Best for two couples or 4 persons. As for service, it's all about ordering from the screen. We only asked for wasabi. Our drinks came by the cute machine. The best sushi was the hand rolls then the rolls. They were big and filling. I liked anything turo. The sushi are not the best but in general, the sushi is not super fresh. We had 21 plates and we paid over a hundred dollars ($3.75 ea) including one beer. For the price I paid, I think I prefer a regular Japanese sit down restaurant than this or even a sushi buffet.hehe
Sushi is okay. Not the freshest. I noticed that the rolls were small and lightweight. The garlic ponzu salmon was good. The Taiyaki ice cream was okay. It was too oily and tasted like it was cooked…
This is not the quality and the hype I heard about, but it is "you pay for what you get." If you are looking for authentic sushi, don't come here. If you're looking for low quality conveyor belt sushi that kids love, then come here. I'm not a fan, but that does not mean it's not for others. Try it out for yourself. Try to get yourself on the wait-list. Luckily it's let's you know via text instead of waiting around the entrance.

My wife and I have been loyal customers of your restaurant for years, and we truly adore your food and overall experience. However, during our visit today to your Pleasanton, California location, we noticed something concerning. The portion sizes appear to have been reduced significantly. The meat cuts on the sushi were noticeably smaller, and even the sushi pieces themselves seem to have gotten smaller over time. We understand that prices increase due to rising costs, and we respect that. However, increasing prices while simultaneously reducing portion size and quality is disappointing for long-time customers like us. We genuinely hope this issue is addressed. Until we see improvement in portion size and quality, we will unfortunately not be returning. We hope you take this feedback seriously, as we would love to continue supporting your restaurant.
