Senro Japanese Bar And Grill

This is a great local Japanese restaurant. They offer both Sushi and traditional cooked menu items. Both types are equally delicious in my opinion. I often get a combination of the Salmon Teriyaki and a few sushi rolls. It is rare that I have had to wait too long for a table, except for the peak hours on Friday and Saturday evenings, so be prepared.

My fav local sushi restaurant. The garlic grilled edamame is soo good. Never had a bad roll here. My husband does not eat sushi, and he even loves this place. Has quite a few non sushi options that he says are really good.

Wow what a surprise. I was looking for some food to go, so I got the assorted tempura and the large assorted sashimi. I was impressed because they had very large portions for the price, and the food was excellent. Keep it up Senro!

Their food is ok. But the price is totally worth it. The staff are nice, the location is great and there's plenty of parking when you come early. Overall, I will come back here if I'm craving for sushi and I'm in the area.

Senro Sushi is my new go to spot for sushi and miso soup! The service was quick and polite, soft drinks come in large cups so you don't have to ask for a refill every 5 minutes like at some places. I started my meal with a bowl of delicious Miso Soup that was totally packed with flavor. Next was the 2 piece oysters topped with (I'm not exactly sure) but they were the best oysters I have had outside of San Francisco. For my main course, I chose the Unagi (eel) Roll. The eel was broiled and coupled with avocado inside the rolls. Absolutely wonderful!!!! Tasty and affordable. I highly recommend Senro Sushi for lunch/dinner for dining Solo or with a group.

Had the miso soup, gyoza, assorted sashimi, and Awesome Mango roll (pictured). Everything was fresh and delicious. The staff were friendly and efficient. Strongly recommend!

Everything we tried was amazing! From the Sushi to the medium rare teriyaki To the tempura my favorite gyoza! I highly recommend this place and we will definitely be going back

This is our go-to spot for sushi since moving into the area in 2020. We've tried sushi at other locations in the area, but don't feel that the cost and quality is justified at those locations. Since coming here, they've seen our daughter grow up in the past 3 years and basically know what my wife likes.

Love Senro Sushi!!! I went there to meet a friend of mine that I hadn't seen in some time and it was the perfect place to meet at. It wasn't too crowded, we were able to talk and catch up & actually hear one another, yet the other guests were still far enough to not be bothered by us. At least I didn't think that they were annoyed by us.. haha. Aside from that our server was extremely efficient, she didn't waste anytime. Their actual service on their food was exceptionally quick as well. This server didn't miss anything boy and if she was in the back doing something else her partner was right there behind her to pick up the slack. And I can genuinely say she didn't miss a beat either!! Oh & 2 more minor things that I feel are rather big bonuses. Is that there was plenty of parking and it's right in the rear entrance where you walk in at. So you could ultimately see your car from sitting inside the restaurant if you wanted to. ...The "only" downfall or negative I would mention about Senro is that their parking lot is a bit dark. There is not much lighting out there at all. And, there really isn't a lot of light walking into the restaurant either. So, if you aren't familiar w the place..it could be a lil intimidating and discouraging. But, just follow the lights inside and you'll be good. And you'll be happy that you did. You won't be disappointed. And, this very last tid bit...is that they are very reasonably priced. I mean you do have to remember that you are in Pleasanton. So if you are aware of that and take that into consideration...then you should be perfectly fine and not have any problems. They have a wide variety of many different types of rolls, specials, etc. I'm pretty sure that you will enjoy your dinner experience here and you most certainly won't be disappointed! Food was good, but I've had better. The sashimi quality was great but the pieces were thin. I enjoyed the taste of their chicken teriyaki, but the portion was small.

Frozen fish overcooked and dry. The best thing I had was Agadashi Tofu and Miso Soup. Good service, and they didn't charge me for the fish, so additional star.

One of my go-to Japanese restaurants. Great food, cozy atmosphere. The service is... well, luck of the draw, sometimes great sometimes a bit more "rude", remeniscent of a busy Cantonese restaurant than Japanese.

The rolls I got looked like they where assembled by a toddler, but they tasted good. Also, the staff was fast and efficient on a very busy night, so overall a good experiemce.

Diding area was spacious, good for groups & family. Food was good & our server was great, always checking up on us & very friendly. More than enough parking spots available with a wheelchair ramp. The men's restroom could use a little upgrade though.

But unfortunately the customer service wasn’t good at all, I didn’t get his name but he’s a heavier set waiter and everything about him was just rude towards us. His demeanor, the service (never checked on us had to ask another waiter multiple times, I asked if he could show me where I can find cooked sushi rolls and just said “it’s in there” regardless it’s unfortunate that bad customer service can impact all the other great qualities this restaurant has to offer. I really hope next time the service is different.

Read really great reviews for the food, but I thought it was just average sushi.

Deteriorated recently to very cheap rolls. Tempura, crab and spicy smtg in every roll. Noble rolls out of good salmon tuna and hamachi are in the past. Pity

Great Sushi, but the management hasnt figured out how to manage the influx of COVID orders. If you dine in, sometimes you get stuck behind a wall of take out orders and if you order out you should expect to wait about 45 minuets (not exactly a bad thing if you are told it will be 45 minuets, but sometimes your told like 15 - 30 minuets).

Only visited once and had the rainbow roll and one other roll I don't remember the name of. Sushi was so-so, not really well made or particularly fresh tasting. The server (older woman who was probably the owner) made a very sour face when we asked to sit at a different table than she pointed to. Not a place I'd choose to return to.

This place is great on paper but not in person. My whole party left feeling nauseous & it took an hour to get our food. Poor customer service as well. Super unfortunate.

I recently ate at this restaurant, and I must say the food was very good! The biggest reason, I gave this place a 2 star is due to service. I was treated horribly by the woman who took my order. She was impatient, and acted like I was bothering her. I must say most of the sushi restaurants in this area have the rudest people who work or own these restaurants. It’s a very sad situation, when customer service is what brings most people back to your restaurant. I can be treated horribly for free, I don’t need to pay for that type of treatment, good food or not.

Lesson learned! Don’t ever stay near the closing time on the weekends, the server will force you to pay and leave ASAP. We had a very unpleasant dinner at Senro, everything was so rush. We were surprise the service standard of this restaurant were so rude, unprofessional, and rush. Seems like everything has gone down hill! Please respect your customers!

wish i could give 0 stars. please save yourself and don’t come here or else your body will hate you. my friend and i have had food poisoning from senro sushi for a week and i wouldn’t wish this type of pain on my worst enemy. i will gladly not be returning.

First time visit. Disappointing. Placed a to go order. Ordered teriyaki chicken, gyoza and tempura. No teriyaki sauce just a weak watery sauce. Tempura dipping sauce was flavorless. Gyoza was ok not great though.

Terrible Service. No type of covid precautions whatsoever. Do not expect to get service, we had to go inside every time we needed something because waitresses get mad if you ask for things like sauces or refills on your soda. On top of everything they take forever on your food, they bring in your food in pauses. Our food wait was about 1 1/2 hour. Yeah, Food is cheap but also cheap quality, you get about 6 pieces per roll so they are very small and just has no taste. Lastly, we had to go inside to pay for our food because even getting the tab took forever and that’s when we witnessed the waitresses handling garbage/money/food all without sanitizing after. Not sure where you can report Covid Restaurant Violations but this place needs to be shut down immediately. Go at your own risk!

Ordered this sushi on DoorDash - one of the rolls has plastic wrap stuck on rolls so wasn’t able to eat any of them. I’ve never experienced this in my life. Definitely won’t be able to consider this sushi place again.
