Beach Bums, where your local sports bar meets karaoke. Charming local dive bar with flair. Friendly bar staff will keep the liquor flowing as you cheer on your favorite sports team to a victory. Perhaps you feel like belting out your favorite Journey toon, they got that too every night at 9:00 pm. Live music is always on tap on the weekends so check their Facebook page for the latest lineup. Smoking bar, so smoke 'em if ya got 'em. Also pet friendly.

On Wed, 11/20 My husband and I walked into beach bum and were immediately greeted by the owner and the bartender. Such friendly and fantastic service. The staff really makes you feel at home here! We can’t wait to come back when we make a trip over to Port A again! Thanks guys!

Ok I didn't have any food. But I can guarantee it's 5 stars. Every thing else they have to offer is off the chart for me. Id give them all the stars in the sky! This place was sooooo amazing. Not to mention my first ever time singing in a public place, and they made me feel like a super star with that mic. Crystal and Porfirio from Victoria!

Great bar and Karoke. We were here several times while visiting Port A. They just opened beginning Feb. The atmosphere is fun and relaxing. Kuddos to Gabe, Melissa, Tyler and Luke for making us feel as welcome as the locals. 👍🥰

We went in to have a few drinks and they had kareoke going on. Nice small bar with good drinks. Played a game of pool as well. The staff was friendly as well.

Seems like a perfectly fine bar if you don't mind the smell of smoke. OMG, it's the single most stinky place I can recall. And there were only a couple people actively smoking so it must just have permeated everything.

Atmosphere was good, cozy place, nice staff, but id stick with bottled beer next time. Liquor was quite watered down. Would go again, but just be mindful of that.

Cool little dive bar with love music, but verrrry smoky inside. Had to sit out on the patio to breathe which had no seating. Great place of you smoke though 🤷🏼 also, seemed to be an older crowd

We had been in Port Aransas for 2 days and we love checking out all the local bars. We have been to so many hole in the walls and never had an issue. We went into beach bums on a Friday at about 7pm to watch the baseball game. We sat at the bar, ordered our drinks and immediately a guy at the bar was harassing us. He was shouting at us “hey hey you been sunbathing girls? “ we politely replied and said we just wanted to watch the game. He then proceeded to get a bit out of hand. Asking us is we sunbath naked and can he watch. We tried ignoring him but he persisted… asking if he can see our suntan lines. It got very uncomfortable for us. I’m used to some banter but this guy was just gross!! The bartender did nothing to stop him. He kept asking about our breasts to the point we just walked out. Terrible experience if female tourists get harassed like this! The only place in Port Aransas where we felt unsafe

Beach Bums has the makings of a solid locals’ hangout with a spacious, air-conditioned interior and a laid-back vibe. The bar is well-equipped with plenty of screens for sports fans, a pool table, and darts, which add to its potential as a fun spot to unwind. The atmosphere feels authentic, clearly catering to regulars, which gives it a certain charm. Unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by a couple of significant issues. First, the service was slow—it took a while for the bartender to acknowledge or serve us, despite the bar not being busy. More concerning, however, was an encounter with a very intoxicated patron who made persistent, inappropriate, and sexual comments toward my friend and me. We initially tried to laugh it off and later made it clear his behavior was unwelcome, but he continued. This made us so uncomfortable that we left after just 10 minutes, unable to even finish our drinks. What was most disappointing was the lack of intervention from the staff, who didn’t step in to address the situation. While Beach Bums has the potential to be a great dive bar, this experience makes it hard to recommend or consider returning. A little more attentiveness from the staff could go a long way in ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
