My cousin and I had such a great time here! The vibes were amazing, the food and service were both really good, and the espresso martini was delicious. I also loved the area it’s located in — such a great spot. Rob, the bar owner, is amazing, and the waiters were fantastic too. We’ll definitely be back!
I’ve had my eye on this place for a long time. I’m soooo glad I finally ate here . I went for The gusto and got a chicken sandwich on a donut with sausage gravy .. I’m in love .. I have not felt this happy eating something so unhealthy in a long time . The place is small and quint . Cool vibes . Im walking out smiles ear to ear .
I went tonight for the 1st time in quite awhile and it didn’t disappoint. I heard that there was new ownership and some remodeling done recently and wanted to check the place out for myself. Everything from the staff to the food and drinks was top notch. The bartender was awesome…. She made me feel welcome the moment I sat at the bar. She kept my drinks fresh and was a fantastic host. I don’t remember her name (Sorry😬) But I’ll be back on a Friday or Saturday night for sure. Highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
OMG, the steak and cheese sandwich is awesome! The best! I am very impressed with the quality of steak. Prices are reasonable and the service is great! Definitely recommend! Good luck to the friendly new owners.
My friends and I stopped here while taking a day trip to Port Jeff. We didn't have any food (so didn't rate that) and just had some drinks at the bar. Shannon (the bartender) was amazing! Just her overall vibe/personality and attentiveness was great AND she made amazing drinks. The overall atmosphere was great as well..... actually loved the fact that they didn't have TV's everywhere as it would definitely take away from the great aura of this place. Thanks again Shannon for giving us such a positive experience! That place is lucky to have you!
What a hidden gem in Port Jeff! Somehow always missed this spot on previous visits, but so glad we finally stopped in. Prohibition absolutely delivered! The atmosphere is lively with fun music and a great energy throughout. The menu has something for everyone—and wow, the mozzarella sticks were next-level (probably the best I’ve ever had). Drinks were on point, and the service was friendly and attentive from start to finish. Definitely one of my new go-to spots in the area. Can’t wait to come back!
First time in Prohibition Port Jeff and it didn’t disappoint! It’s small inside but packs a great vibe with good selection of beers, cocktails and food! The Black N Blue burger was excellent paired with a Bloody Mary ;) and the Sooo Good Salad with citrus-ginger dressing with grilled chicken was just refreshing! Stop by if you’re in the area! We’ll be back to check out the summer scene!
Not knowing what to expect at Prohibition Port Jefferson, I agreed to meet my friend there because Slurp was closed. Shannon was exceptional in her efforts to make me welcome and comfortable. The hamburger special was only 7 dollars but rivaled those of much higher cost. The fries were spectacular and came gratis. Maine Lunch (the beer on tap) refreshing and one of my favorite, closed the deal. Slurp will have to wait, but I found a gem in Prohibition! Will be returning.
My husband and I came here tonight for the first time and it was fantastic! We requested a table and was told about 20 minutes but we were called before that. Our server was so sweet, and she made our first time a blast. The food was absolutely incredible, my husband loved his chicken sandwich, the fries were great and the pretzel was the best pretzel I've ever had! We ended up boxing it because it was so big. The bill came out to less than we expected, which was surprising for such amazing food. The atmosphere is very laid back and comfy, and we will definitely be returning. Thank you for a great first experience!
This is a super nice spot. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars all over the board, is because I'm a condescending dude from Manhattan... The food is super fresh and good for food outside of the city. The salad had a bit too much dressing, and the dressing is not 100% accurate. But again for a spot outside of the city it's really nice. Same with the service, the bartender, is really sweet and does her best. I will definitely come back
Very cool little spot in the heart of the village. Creative craft cocktails and a solid, varied beer list. Was really impressed by the half off happy hour menu on some drinks and small plates. Wouldn't expect that with the items on the small plates menu, ended up making a meal out of those. Will be visiting again for some large plates!
My girlfriend and I decided to go to Prohibition Kitchen for our 1 year anniversary, and we were absolutely blown away in every aspect. The servers were all incredibly nice, especially our waitress Jules. She was quick with refills and stayed on top of us the entire night without hovering. She was super friendly and helpful with all of our questions. The food. Oh let me tell you about the food. We ordered the lobster quesadilla and the baked lobster mac n' cheese. They were both just delicious, and at a very reasonable price as well. The food was also cooked and prepared for us incredibly fast, I feel like we waited no longer than just a few minutes really. For dessert we ordered the apple pie with vanilla ice cream, and unsurprisingly, it was simple and delicious! Overall we had a fantastic time here, and we will definitely be coming back again in the future.
We have visited Phohibition twice for early weekend brunch. The staff has been very accommodating with our active 4 year old. The restaurant is small ... and charming. They easily made changes to their menu options to meet my preferences. Prohibitions take on poutine ... Although not traditional ... Is delicious. Bloody Mary is a meal in itself. I requested mine without bacon. Wild we live in a time when garnish has become so over the top. This place is made for foodies. Call ahead to find out what the current reservation policy is. Don't expect to "get right in" during busy times. Expect to put your name on a list and walk around the town, grab a coffee etc. Pokemon Go players: You can float to two stops.
Came here for date night on a Thursday with no reservation and had no issue getting a table around dinner time. Quaint little bar/restaurant that has a cozy feeling to it. I wouldn't necessarily say it has a prohibition/speakeasy vibe like the name would imply, but I enjoyed the atmosphere nonetheless. Decided to have a few drinks and split some appetizers. Starting with drinks, we tried their hibiscus gin, blueberry margarita, and the smoked old fashioned. The former two were the real standouts for me and excellent refreshing summer drinks on a hot day! The old fashioned is nothing to scoff at either though, they do theirs right on a drink that's easy to screw up. Moving on to food, we split the Mediterranean platter and an order of Buffalo wings. The platter gives a nice assortment of dips and veggies that are easily shareable, but don't expect the finest Greek quality around, still tasty though. The wings though were great, good portion and the wings felt substantial, could tell they were better quality and the sauce was as quintessential buffalo as it gets, exactly what we were looking for. The rest of the menu looked good too and I'd be eager to come back to try some more items any time. Service was good, checked in on us frequently and didn't rush us either which is always appreciated. Parking can be a little difficult but there are some available lots nearby, but just make sure that you pay the meters!
It is more bar than restaurant, which is not a bad thing, but just know what you are walking into. The drink was great - I would go back for more of their specialty cocktails. I would not go back specifically for the food. The well-done burger I ordered was not well-done (photo) and the Ketchup bottle came from the back looking like the attached (photo). The staff was friendly and great when it came to the burger issue. They offered a solution without prompting so I didn't leave upset about that. A note about the bathroom - it is beautiful, but it is only 1 person at a time.
I came here with friends that live in the area with high expectations, but was disappointed in the end. I did like the eccentric vibe of the establishment itself. The hostess/waitress was very friendly and accommodating. She had rearranged seating especially for us which had a party of 8. The restaurant is tiny with not much seating. The menu looked promising, but I was disappointed with my order. I had ordered the Chicken and Waffles, which ended up being the blandest version of that dish I've ever had. I literally was just a chicken cutlet on top of a waffle, with a tiny bit of powdered sugar. Not worth anywhere near what I had even paid for it. The other dish I am able to review from our order was the nachos. these were not that up to par either. The cheese on the nachos was more of a cheese sauce which didn't allow for any toppings to stick and by the end the chips were so soggy, you had to finish them with a fork. One person in my party had the build your own quesadilla which actually was pretty decent. In conclusion, I probably will not eat here again, if I do I will spend more time to study the menu and ask how certain dishes are prepared. I hope this was helpful, please be sure to like and follow, It will be appreciated!
Easy to see right off of East Main Street servicing Port Jefferson and the adjoining areas of Suffolk County. A nice looking interior with retro speakeasy feel. Clean facilities. Public Restroom. Staff is nice. Went here for brunch on a Sunday. My Eggs Benedict (poached) were a little over cooked. Shoe string fries were good. Nice bar with weekly food and drink specials. Reasonably priced. Credit cards accepted. Nice staff.
We’ve been loyal customers for the past three years, but since the new owners took over, the food quality has gone downhill. Our recent $27 steak sandwich, once overflowing with steak, was flat with hardly any meat. While the manager, Nicholas, was very kind and helpful in addressing the issue, the overall decline in quality is disappointing for a long-time customer.
Went to dinner there last Saturday night 12/6/26. Service was great. However, we were gifted $150 worth of gift cards we were planning to use. When it came time to pay the bill, we were informed our gift cards would not be accepted due to new ownership. There was no indication on the website that there was new ownership and all gift cards previously purchased would not be honored. We did received a “friends and family” discount, but that was only a fraction of the $150 we lost out on.
