Si mangia benissimo e si paga giusto

Un ambiente curato nel minimi dettagli, piatti buonissimi con materie prime di alta qualità, servizio impeccabile e superfamiliare hanno reso questa serata indimenticabile. Trovare un servizio così affabile, disponibile, attento, cordiale, competente e veramente merce rara al giorno d'oggi. Quindi un locale super consigliato circondato dalla magica Portofino dove ritornerò sicuramente.

Ottimo ristorante, siamo andati per la prima volta con un gruppo di persone numeroso, il titolare ci ha curato e servito con la massima attenzione compreso tanti dettagli che fanno la differenza. Lo chef ha prodotto piatti superlativi, mentre i camerieri hanno svolto il loro lavoro impeccabili e sempre con il sorriso. Tutte le portate sono state eccezionali al di sopra di ogni più rosea aspettativa con ingredienti di eccellente qualità. Prezzi proporzionati alla qualità, al servizio ed alla location. Il parcheggio non è attaccato al locale ma attraversare Portofino lascia un valore aggiunto in più. Ritorneremo sicuramente

Posizione splendida, leggermente defilata con vista bellissima sull’insenatura di Portofino. Personale e titolari simpatici, gentili e disponibili, mangiato e bevuto veramente bene e considerando la location al giusto prezzo. Ristorante Strainer , non ha la presunzione di voler essere un ristorante di Lusso, ma un ristorante pulito e carino , si addice al posto che è proprio sul molo di Portofino, con vista e colori mozzafiato. Il servizio eccellente!! Giuliana gentilissima. Abbiamo mangiato dei tagliolini al tartufo bianco, mantecati nella forma di parmigiano , su una spolverata di pepe sul fondo del piatto... Dire squisiti sarebbe riduttivo.. eccellenti!!! Una frittura di calamari e gamberoni sgusciati, ottima! dolci della casa, e un leggero vino bianco. Siamo stati veramente bene!!

Pranzato domenica, tutto eccellente tagliolini agli scampi sublimi e spaghetti vongole perfetti, il personale gentile e cortese, non capisco i commenti negativi sui prezzi che son nella norma soprattutto se si pensa che stai mangiando a Portofino! Prendo per esempio i tagliolini agli scampi 22€ ma hanno due scampi di ottima qualita che solo quelli costano 10€ più pasta fresca ecc parlo da ristoratrice e non come certi quaraquaqua Comunque super consigliato, se dovessi ripassare da quelle parti tornerei sicuramente!

Wow, I do not understand why the overall rating for this place is so low. I highly recommend eating at Strainer! The food was awesome and the prices were reasonable for Portofino. The view is beautiful. This was our favorite place that we ate in Portofino and it ended up being way better than some other higher rated restaurants in the area.

We’ve been to Strainer over 15 years ago and returned today. The pasta and seafood are absolutely amazing! The service was fantastic and the wine recommendation was perfect with the truffle pasta in the Parmesan cheese wheel. Absolutely perfect lunch, again!

Every aspect of the evening was amazing. Our hosts took such good care of us and the food was extraordinary. We love Italian food. The from pasta Bolognese made perfectly to mussels in wine sauce and spaghetti vongole... Everything was great. But the crown was the special pasta with truffles made in a parmesan wheel. I've tried this dish at many restaurants, but now I understand why it is such a specialty. Dessert topped it off with tiramisu and a ricotta cake with chocolate sauce. Thank you for the wonderful evening!

We were recommended this delightful restaurant by Mara, a talented local artist, and the experience was unforgettable. The food was extraordinary especially the pasta, prepared inside a hollowed half-wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano with mushrooms and finished with truffle. It was one of the best pasta dishes we have ever had in Italy, so delicious that we still think about it and long to taste it again. Carmine, the gracious owner, personally prepared the pasta in the Parmigiano, which made the evening feel even more special. With the soft glow of dim lights, the gentle sound of music, and the serene view by the water, the atmosphere was pure magic, perfectly capturing the charm of Portofino.

We had a late dinner. Despite the late time, the owner and the waiters were all very friendly and attentive. They helped us explaining the contents of the dishes and even prepared some dishes custom to our preference. It was a wonderful experience for us. The truffle pasta had an amazing taste. The seabream plate for two people was also quite delicious. The prices were quite high but we knew that this was the normal price range of also other restaurants in this specific and unique location.

This little spot is well worth the stop! The truffle pasta was the best I’ve ever had! The staff came over and did an entire presentation of making the sauce in the Parmesan cheese wheel. We also tried the mussels in white wine sauce and it was delicious. Make sure to grab some bread for the broth. Finishing with the tiramisu was amazing! Additionally it was wonderful to enjoy this spectacular food and wine in front of a beautiful view of Portofino!

I’m beyond shocked by the 3.6 rating. This restaurant deserves a solid 5. I have never had truffle pasta so flavoursome and fresh! I still think about it! Everything was absolutely fantastic! I even recommended my sister and her husband to try it and they loved it!

Buon ristorante in posizione defilata e più tranquilla rispetto al centro di Portofino ma che gode allo stesso modo di ottima vista sulla baia. Ho mangiato un’ottima pasta funghi/tartufo saltata su una forma di parmigiano, squisita. Buona pure la pasta bigoli al pesto! Un po’ carente l’antipasto al prosciutto crudo.

Siamo a Portofino e si sa quali sono i prezzi. Passeggiando sul molo ci imbattiamo in questo posto dove la lista esposta promette un prezzo inferiore rispetto a quelli della piazza. Inoltre sembra carino perciò decidiamo di sederci. Subito dopo si siede a fianco una giovane coppia straniera per bere qualche cosa. A noi portano da bere quasi subito e anche il piatto di antipasto. A loro ancora non hanno nemmeno preso l'ordinazione tanto che il ragazzo stava preparandosi per andare via. In quel momento prendono l'ordinazione. Portano il cocktail e la vodka senza una patatina o uno stuzzichino. Nulla di nulla. Tanto che i due malcapitati si guardano e si capisce la loro delusione. Sicuro parleranno male del locale e magari degli italiani interi. Ok, siamo in un ristorante nell'ora del pranzo ma se li fai sedere dopo che ti hanno detto se potevano solo bere qualche cosa sei tu in torto e non loro. Nel frattempo noi abbiamo mangiato sia l'antipasto che i primi piatti ordinati (anche discretamente buoni, bisogna dirlo) e chiediamo il caffè. Siccome di lì a poco partiva il battello chiediamo anche il conto spiegando di avere fretta (tanto che il cameriere ha anche risposto in battuta). 10 minuti dopo nulla. Avendo notato che del servizio molti tavoli si erano lamentati per motivi diversi e che anche la coppia a fianco quando ha chiesto di pagare ha atteso invano (solo alla terza richiesta si sono presentati), mi alzo e piuttosto scocciato faccio presente la cosa recandomi dentro alla cassa (nessuno lo ha fatto perché venivano loro al tavolo) facendo presente che o mi facevano pagare o me ne andavo. Ho pagato ma niente mancia, cosa che normalmente lascio. Quindi cibo discretamente buoni, servizio e attenzione verso il cliente davvero pessimi. Peccato perché i tantissimi stranieri che si fermano non parleranno bene e perché in Italia non siamo così ma siamo veloci, ospitali e cortesi.

64€ for truffle pasta was too much, bottle of beer 9€, everything was overpriced. In addition to that 10€ for Copertine( it’s like cover/servise) charge.

Simply overpriced. €16 for an Aperol that was far from worth it. The starters, like the tomato and mozzarella, felt ridiculous for the price and not what was shown in photos or served to other tables. The fish was fine, but overall the quality does not match the cost. The owner wasn't really nice, and the service didn’t feel right for what you pay. Honestly, the bar just across the street treated us much better for the same price.

Nice view but the Pizza was awful. A shame for Italy. DONT go here unless you want to eat a Pizza that tastes and looks like the ones you can get for 3€ from a supermarket, dipped into Oil. We fed the rests to the fish in the water, at least they were happy. Also the waiter gave us the pricier menu first, creating an atmosphere of fool. I left with stomach pains which I normally never get. Not coming back again - a pity for Portofino.

Prima piatti buoni, ma che non giustificano la sorpresa ricevuta alla fine della cena. Abbiamo pagato due fette di torta, per altro non eccezionali e di piccola dimensione, la bellezza di 36,00 €. Errore nostro non chiederne inizalmente il prezzo, ma sicuramente non un prezzo onesto e veritiero. Ci è stato detto, a fine cena e dopo aver ricevuto il conto che il dolce era ‘speciale’ (sullo scontrino è stato aggiunto ‘dessert special’ molto probabilmente solo per questa occasione), quando sul menu e al momento della scelta, non è stato detto nulla a riguardo. Comportamento, a nostro parere, inacettabile che non ci farà tornare una seconda volta.

Abbiamo mangiato bene, i camierieri sono stati gentili durante tutta la serata e i prezzi sembravano più che onesti… I problemi sono arrivati con il conto: ben 18€ per OGNI DESSERT, ovvero 18€ per ogni fetta di torta, nemmeno grande. Quindi, avendo preso due fette, 36€ solo di dessert. A dir poco IMBARAZZANTE… Mi dispiace dare una recensione così negativa perchè abbiamo mangiato bene e il servizio è stato buono fino all’arrivo del conto ma un prezzo del genere è inaccettabile, soprattutto vista la qualità mediocre del dolce...
