Every time we visit Poughkeepsie, we go to Danny’s. Very large, delicious dinners at an affordable price. We have never been disappointed. My brother lives close by and gets his lunch here at least once a week. I cannot choose a favorite, is ALL delicious!!!

I've eaten Danny's food several times, both eat in and take out. The restaurant is very clean and neat. The food is kept right in front of you, so you can choose what you want as you look. Everyone there is very friendly and polite. They are also very helpful if you don't know what something is. They will explain what it is. I have tried a little bit of everything they offer, and everything tastes good! They give you large portions at a very reasonable price, and they are very accommodating. If you already like Puerto Rican and Dominican food, this is the place for you. If you want to try Puerto Rican and Dominican food for the first time, this is also the place for you. Everything has great flavor and is cooked to perfection. I recommend Danny's.

Restaurant is clean. Staff is very friendly. Prices are extremely reasonable. Food is very good. Definitely 5 stars! I had the yellow rice with pigeon peas which was seasoned just right and not too salty, black beans which were very good, and stewed chicken. The chicken was very tender and flavorful.

Update 11/4/20 Went there again and they lady was very nice and more patient than before. The stew chicken is always on point. Lunch special $6 was enough food to feed my two kids with a smigent left over. I had the soup, although tasty, needed more potatoes and at least 1 dumpling. This is still a hotspot for me and worth the drive. ========== Quaint and very clean establishment with really good food, reasonably priced, and pretty quick service. I gave one less star only because the server was a bit impatient taking my order. I was the only customer at that time, and I was trying to get a 9 year old to decided which beans she wanted so I could order. Well the server kept repeating what size what size which one? I actually had to tell the server to slow down because I'm feeling rushed. The only person I was holding up was server. It wasn't like she had to go cook any of the food or wait on tables. After dining in there for more than an hour with my family of 10, it was clear her role was just serve up tge good and take payment. It would have been best So simply wait until we decided what we wanted - she would have gotten 5 stars. It was a little too much pressure for me. Other than that, the food was plentiful and top notch. The stew chicken is out of this word. I also had bbq beef that fell off the bone. Didn't like the syrupy coating they added to the fried plantains. Plantains are sweet enough, so no need to add sugar to them. I really had to rinse mine off in a cup of water. Despite all the cons, this place is still a hot spot for me. I live an hour and a half away from Danny's restaurant and it is worth the drive.

Honestly to some people who don't know what these foods are supposed to taste like it's okay. But everything is lacking flavor. dry pork the bean sauce tastes like dish water. Take pride in what you cook. The Danny's in Newburgh is top notch 👌🏾 👏 👍 pk Danny's though doesn't even come close

I’m a reoccurring customer and have been coming here for years however the quality of the food has taken a turn for the worse. Recently I ordered a small foil pan of yellow rice which I always get and there was literally FIVE peas in the rice, not only that it was super clumpy, dry and the color was off. The entire pan had to go straight into the garbage. My guests were unable to have a proper side with the other dishes prepared.

Worst food ever 😫 the food was room temperature and salty then they over charging, saying what order was the most expensive meal, fried fish and with banana and yuca, sancocho, mangu with eggs salami and cheese, morison̈ando, ginger soda guess how much for those 3 dishes $74 and if use my card $85. This places and worth it

I’ve been going to Danny’s restaurant for years now. Unfortunately over my time as a LOYAL customer the appreciation was never reciprocated. I’m always greeted with angry faces and attitude from both Danny and the female staff. I get the same meal EVERY TIME and I’ve been wanting to remain a customer but after today’s experience I just have to leave this review. The food is INEDIBLE!!! It’s extremely salty seems as though it was done purposely, and the rice had a hair wedged into it! I pay for my meal in full each time and this is just unacceptable. I called and spoke with Danny the owner and he informed me that I look to be unfriendly and that’s why they’ve treated me the way they do. They are unprofessional and I WILL NEVER return! Perhaps try somewhere else to dine, if you’re not looking for a place to give you high blood pressure with an attitude to match please stay far.

While the food may be good……… placing your order with the lady makes it a very uncomfortable experience. The lady behind the counter has a SERIOUS customer service issue. She doesn’t speak to you or acknowledge you besides asking if you want anything else. And God forbid you order enough food to feed a family of five her attitude gets worse. Like buying a lot of food is a problem for her. Like it inconveniences her. It sucks but I’ll just take the drive to the one in Newburgh. I have never had any issues there.

The Food is pretty good, especially the chicken soup I can't dent BUTT as I was paying a ROACH greeted me asking if in paying debit or credit! Absolutely disgusting having roaches right at the register as you're about to pay is Absolutely disgusting and bad for business!!!
