Great food, good size portions. For MENU, use their website, the "view menu" link takes you to singleplace.com with outdated prices. Just follow their website link and use that menu.
Awesome real authentic Mexican food at a sit-down restaurant with fantastic customer service. I also heard the drinks are pretty good
One of my favorite places to eat. Been going here for over 20 hrs. Great prices and even better food.
We've been eating here since we moved to the Sacramento region in 2005! Great food, family owned and operated, wonderful service!
I was doordashing today the lady at the counter was so nice had everything ready for me this food smells so delicious so I look forward to going back and eating with my boyfriend
Food is a good price, always great service no wait seating. 😋
Great food ! I love their Chile rellenos smauther with a red orange sauce it's my favorite!
First time here and the food was great. The portions were perfect for the visit but not enough to be able to take some home. Very recommended and I will be back
I personally love the atmosphere, but I know it would not be for everyone
Inexpensive and good food. This hole-in-the-wall is one of our favorites for Mexican Food! The staff is friendly and the service is right on cue. The decore is a bit dated but that is part of that hole-in-the-wall appeal. I had the chimichanga and an asada burrito so far. Loved both of them
Wow. Doesn't look like much from the outside. But the service is excellent (fast, friendly & attentive), the food is healthy, tasty & generous - and the restrooms are very clean. Nice to find a local gem like this!
I've been going to El Puerto for many years. The Chile Relleno is the best in Sacramento at an affordable price. I've never had a bad meal and never had any problems whatsoever. I love it.
I like this family run restaurant !!! The food has always been good. The chile relleno and enchilada sauce are spot on. The service has always been consistently quite pleasant and helpful.
The atmosphere was great, very clean too. Food was really good with alot of flavor and the staff was very nice.
Excellent neighborhood spot! I actually had no idea it was there. Having been in its most likely to be our new spot. Seat yourself, reasonable prices, sizeable portions and super service! Nice and homey.
Great fresh food don't go looking for fancy decor they don't even have air conditioning but really good food. Take out is better Its a local place i almkst always see someone I know there
I have been eating here on and off for years, stopped by today for the first time in a year or so, I had forgotten how great the food is. The service is also so of the best in tje business.
Amazing food and wonderful service. Delicious authentic food that has terrific flavor and plenty big portions for anyone.
Truly love this one. My dad's favorite eatery when he was with us. My Daughter Oanh Le and I go there religiously when she's in town. Authentic Mexican.
The portions were huge, my steak fajitas were great and a good flavor. This restaurant is worth eating at.
Great food, best authentic Mexican dishes I've had since moving to the Sacramento Valley 2 years ago.
This is my absolute favorite Mexican Restaurant. Great food and great service.
Food is delicious. I highly recommend. My family and I are from San Diego and we felt the food tasted at home
First visit for my wife and I, though we live close by. We've missed out. Service is friendly, and food is delicious. Not much to see from the outside, but inside is homey and comfortable. We definitely plan to go back.
You will want to eat all of your food but if you do you will lose the will to move. Save the rest for lunch tomorrow. You will thank yourself. Tip your waitress, she is great and works hard.
Best food ever!!! Love this place. Used to eat here everyday but moved further away. Thank the Lord for doordash. Sauce and everything is amaaaaazing. My husband's birthday is tomorrow, Cinco De Mayo. This food is his birthday wish! We love El Novillero and this gives them a run for their money! Thank you for being on doordash!! They are the only place in this town that knows how to make enchilada sauce. We order at least once a week. Keep up the good work. Great job!!
Beat tasting Mexican food I've had since I moved back to northern Cali ..no joke ! My first time I just happened to pass by and went back after shopping..so glad I did ...nice service too ..
Our favorite Mexican restaurant, the food is plentiful and delicious. Mine is cheese enchiladas or crispy beef taco while the grandsons are Fajita all kinds The only thing I don't like is we dont get any flour tortillas NOR Chips and Salsa with TAKE OUT
I had dinner here a few nights ago with two friends. The food was delicious. Authentic Mexican food. The sauce was yummy. To me it’s the sauce and the salsa that is the determining factor , if I go back or not. I will be going back. The prices are about the same as anywhere else these days. Also the amount of food was good. Id definitely recommend this restaurant.
Our go-to friendly neighborhood spot for delicious Mexican food. Consistent quality. We call our order in and walk over to pick it up to eat at home at least once a week. We love any of their grilled steak items and their generous salads.
My favorite place to grab some real Mexican food. The place is always clean, the woman is always quick and super nice. Their portions are perfect and their prices are even better. It's a seat yourself place. The salsa is yummy too.
The place is a total dive, and I say that in the most loving way. It's in the corner of a run down strip mall, it's a little dark on the inside, the booths are a little bit older, and they have the velvet paintings on the walls. But all of that are what give it it's *wonderful* character. Plus, it's spotless, and the food is authentic, plentiful, and very reasonably priced. The place is a family run Rancho food landmark that has been around since 1983.
In Short - YaY...Cute, very friendly, very fast, very yummy. On the low price range for Mexican food. Notes - 1. You can easily get a full blown semi in and out of here. In fact you could make a U-turn in the parking lot. 2. It's easy to miss if you're not using "Maps" 3. It is in the Harbor Freight tools shopping center and it is kinda hidden from view because of the "fish and chips" restaurant. In long - I seen this place before while looking at "Maps" but just haven't been yet. I would be passing it and never saw it. (But "Maps" will take you there) I decided I would "Map" it out today for a snack. It feels like a closed down shopping center, there are hardly any cars in a huge parking lot. The exterior of shopping center is old and kinda dingy. But...as soon as you step in to the restaurant it's like a cute little oasis of Mexican food! It was completely different than I expected. It was completely empty when I showed up, which was perfect because I don't like posting pictures of other people's faces. It's a sit down restaurant, but when I was there it was a take any seat type of sit down restaurant. I snagged a menu on my way to a corner booth. Popped off a couple of restaurant interior pictures and was greeted by my waitress, who spoke perfect English and Spanish, with some chips and salsa. (Which are now definitely in the top 5 best chips) I ordered the Friday Special, a Carnitas Plate with corn tortillas. The daily specials are like 9-11 bucks! Food breakdown on the plate. 👍Beans... Refried, slightly chunky, with a little cheese (perfect amount for me, but I know some people will take a bite straight out of a brick of cheese, so you might want to ask for extra if you are one of those people) 👍Rice... Pretty standard good rice. 👍Carnitas... Really good! It was shredded, but it also had some good sized chunks in it, I like that. It had a few crispy ends and was very moist, but not really juicy. Get it🤔 (it was good) 👍 Onions and peppers... They were under the carnitas, and they were perfect! 👍 Tomato salad... Or it was a really chunky Pico on lettuce, whatever you wanna call it it was good! 👍 Corn Tortillas... Soft and yummy! Made for some great tacos! Biggest regret, I should have asked for some salsa verde, that would've been awesome. Thanks everyone! It was delicious! Remind me to try your salsa verde next time!
Great food! I love the chicken enchiladas, you can't go wrong with those. The rice is amazing as well. I love this spot and recommend highly. Support local restaurants! Will visit again when I'm back in the 'cho again.
Took a date to the nearby axe throwing place and really wanted nachos. Google pointed me to this place so I gave it a try. Their shredded beef nachos are excellent. The sauce the beef is cooked in is wonderfully tasty. It was exactly what I wanted. We were going to dessert afterwards, and they offer a half order, which was exactly what I needed. Their horchata is likewise quite good.
Good Food. Nice waitress. Rude people came in, ate chips, and left without paying. Chips and salsa are free w/purchase, though. Waitress didn't make a big deal about it. She was far more polite than most! Good experience. Fast service.
This place is amazing. Best beans and rice, meat, everything. Priced reasonable, great service and super fresh. Quick to go ordering as well so you can't really go wrong. Someone else on here put taco bell was better, and that's just bs. This place is bomb!
I picked up dinner last 🌙 night and the carne asada burritos 🌯 were excellent. I will definitely come back to this place!
This is a small and a neat place. If anyone wants authentic Mexican food, this is it. We had a very fine experience and the food is very delicious. We ordered fajitas, Enchiladas and tostadas. Everything is cooked to perfection. Salsa is fresh and spicy. Loved it.
This place is kinda hidden unless you are a local. Just tucked off Folsom near the new Harbor Freight. So if you need go there tuck in here for a bite to eat you won’t be disappointed. The inside decor is awesome kinda rustic Mexican tavern kinda look. With booths that are comfortable and nice for a date. The chips and salsa are yummy. Family owned so please support a neighbor.
I ordered two lunch specials to go. Adding grilled meat incurs extra cost per item. Service was quick and food tasted great. Chips and salsa are extra too.
My favorite spot hands down best chile relleno in the state! A Cordova 💎 a must try there is no better Mexican restaurant. Go here asap!
Great food. Nice price point. Family owned. Very friendly.
Got the chorizo and eggs plate and let me just say these are some of the best chorizo and eggs I've ever had hands down, not greasy, and had peppers and onions sautéed into em. Beans and rice were also well seasoned. The chips were fresh made and the salsa was also really good, had like a herbal flavor, maybe of sage? I really enjoyed all of it, basically liked my plate clean!

I don't understand anyone saying the food is bland. I've been going here for approximately 25 years and it's amazing how consistent the food has been over that long period of time. Everything I've tried has been very flavorful and delicious and well-seasoned, and again, CONSISTENT. There's only so much you can do with Spanish rice and refried beans, so those are never going to wow anyone, but they have as much flavor as you can expect without totally changing them. Their salsa is delicious and consistent and well-seasoned. I like that it is blended well and not super chunky. They do not have, nor ever had hard liquor, so the margaritas are wine margaritas. You can't judge them against real margaritas, so you have to appreciate them for what they are. That's why I normally just enjoy a couple bottles of Corona with my meal. Someone else complained about their prices, but compared to other Mexican food places, and taking portion sizes into consideration, their prices are actually quite reasonable. Their prices are so reasonable that I don't even mind ordering from Doordash sometimes.
Food is good Price is great great Not sure why there isn't more customers
Great place for authentic Mexican food! We enjoyed everything we ordered! The lighting was super low was my only complaint. My eyes aren't what they used to be but I could barley read the menu under the yellow lighting. Lol
Hole in the wall Mexican spot with absolutely DELICIOUS food. I dined in and tried the 3 item combo with a beef taco, chicken enchilada and Chile relleno. The food came with free chips and salsa. Chips were warm and fresh and the salsa was to die for - perfect amount of heat. Definitely check them out for outstanding Mexican staples. 🌶🌶
Just got a plain chicken burrito and it was surprisingly full of flavor, the meat was great very well cooked and seasoned, I've been working over here for weeks and I've burned up all the other Mexican places before trying here and this one is my favorite so far, give it a try, the outside doesn't look great but it's nicer inside and the food is great, I'll be back when I'm in the area. Almost forgot the chips and salsa are 🔥 the salsa is just right spice and flavor, been Dealing with mediocre Mexican food all over lately so it's refreshing to find a place that has taste food
Excellent overall Mexican dining experience and atmosphere,l. Service was great, food was great, prices were great, menu options were great, everything great!

Friendly service. Good food. Large menu of traditional Mexican favorites. Our go-to for impromptu dining.
Supreme Nachos had nothing supreme about it . I'll just stick to the Carne Asada Plate, which always hits the spot.
Always good food. Service is okay, not great. Reasonably priced bottled beer 🍻
This is a small mom-and-pop place. Food is authentic and service is very good and prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend.
Great food, great service! Could use a little updating...but it was very clean.
The food was authentic and tasted great. The atmosphere was very detailed with decor everywhere. Service was alright. And its an all around good place to eat.
Yes, it is a "rugged little gem". Best chile rellenos you'll find in Sacramento!! Chicken fajitas for two on a sizzling skillet is our favorite, but all the plates are great. Ask for some grilled jalapenos on the side. Good prices, good food, seats are saggy, decor not for the squimish.
Very good food. Authentic. No frills restaurant, friendly service. More of a locals place that you keep going back to.
I have a good time there when we are not looking to cook and its close to home so we can walk. Walking is good to get out and be visible in the community/city or county you are part of.
Been coming here since I was a kid. Fair prices, fair food, fair service. Sit in the back room if you want to have conversation during the meal. Front room is a little too loud for my liking.
Love this place, really good food for a decent price. Several different salsa's with a variety of heat. I usually get the tacos combo plate and they are delicious. Also had the burritos and taco salad. The meat is very flavorful and tender portion size is decent. Really is the best of a whole in the wall experience.
Enjoyed a combo with crispy taco and beef enchilada. It was very good and loved I had leftovers. It's just your little corner neighborhood place to eat. They only serve beer and wine. So your margarita is made with wine. No biggie for me as I'm not a drinker. Staff was attentive, courteous and polite. Our food arrive promptly. Their salsa was too hot to my liking so at least I didn't fill up on chips😉
Food was good. Big portions chips and salsa were good service was excellent we had a great waitress that kept everything coming out fast. Endless chips and salsa. First time here so wasn't sure what to expect but it was pretty good. If you are in the area looking for a fast Mexican food fix I would recommend stopping in.
Small restaurant off Folsom Blvd and Cordova Lane in Rancho Cordova. Quiet, dark and rarely crowded. Personally I think the food is good but not great for the price. Customer service could be better. Still this may be better for others as I am from Southern California and am used to Mexican food down south. Yes, I do think any ethnic food differs from region to region.
First time here and we got the Nachos Supreme w/carnitas & Fiesta Platter. Quick service, friendly staff, quality ingredients and overall a pretty good experience but the nachos could have used more chips. We wil be going back.
This is a type of Mexican restaurant...it's old school. Think, plates topped with cheese and set under the heat lamp. Everything is solid; the food is good, the service is warm and efficient. The bathroom is clean.

Food was tasty, good pricing for dine in these days. Server did not look like she wanted to be there this evening. Checked in frequently and was helpful, but no smile, or ups and downs of tone to show personality. Dining room was cute and small, felt very cozy! The restaurant itself was perfect for what I was looking for, for dinner.
I had the 2 item lunch plate. Ichose 2 tacos. I had the carnitas filling. There was and extra $1.50 charge for carnitas. It came with rice and refried beans. It was OK. I've definitely had better. The salsa was pretty good.

Food was pretty good, strawberry margaritas are wine not tequila and are more sugar than anything.
Love their food, but it's always hot as Heck in there everytime!! But the back dining area where they don't even seat people has air conditioning. Lame!
Food is probably better than what I tasted, but we had to eat outside due to COVID 19 Protocol. Place has a great old town Mexican vibe, help is friendly, but could step up their game.
It was a solid 3. It was not bad, but it is not something I'll be thinking about afterward. Everything was assembled well, but I'm of the opinion that much of it came from a can. The best thing I can say is I left feeling full. The worst thing I can say is I would not make a special trip to go here. It's a solid 3.
Cute quaint little restaurant. Staff are very friendly and offer prompt service. The prices are reasonable for the quanity you get. As far as taste, its average. 7 out of ten. The Spanish rice was off the hook, only reason i can get give it a seven. Bit disappointed with the peach margarita and cheese enchiladas. Missing that umph. If your not picky, its a nice place to stop. But if your looking for that full spanish flavor and taste, you might want to check out el tapatio on sunrise!
Good food. Good portion size. Good price. They have horchata but I didn't try it. No mole sauce. They did accommodate our large party of 22 in the back. Cleanliness was okay. I didn't see any to worry. Didn't check the bathroom but didn't hear any complaints from our party..
Good food. Wine selection is so-so. Service is good. I love their demitasse glasses for tea. Odd breezy feeling while sitting at the tables. Their decorations are old school but comforting. Nice, small family restaurant for intimate settings.
I am giving 3 stars not because of the food. The food was delicious!! I am giving 3 stars because its ridiculously hot in the restaurant. I mean very uncomfortable. And the girl who took are order was so rude. No personality. Just looked and actes like she was miserable. We used to come to this restaurant probably once a week. For years! We havent been back for a very long time for these exact reasons. And eventhough the food was delicious we probably wont be back for a very long time again. So sad. Service and being comfortable is also as important as good food.
Typical mexicali food. Do not order the guacamole unless you want green slime tasting of preservative.
2 stars because the woman who took my order was rude, curt, and said, "you said this but ok". I understand that everyone has a bad day sometimes, but that was just unnecessary - particularly since I myself was not being rude at all. The food was ok, the beans were quite salty.
I work next door so it is within walking distance. Been there a few times and it’s been great. The last 2 times I went I had to cancel my order because they took too long for my 30 minute break. Very slow. Understaffed. Probably will not go there again. Disappointing
So I'm new to the area and looking for the tacos and tamales in the area. Didn't find them here unfortunately. I dunno what the specialties are, but they weren't the shrimp tacos or tamales. The waitress was friendly and was good about coming outside to take the order despite the weather. Given the virus this was for takeaway. The pre-stained disposable napkins were another surprising let down.
The only Mexican restaurant in Rancho Cordova that I have been to more than once. It's not super awesome, but it doesn't suck. Wish the chips and salsa were free. $3 for a small bag of chips with salsa. Update: downgrading my rating from 4 stars to 2. Today I got the same meal I always get except this time it was like I was eating crushed rock. I even spit out a little piece of rock. If there had been some refried beans, there would have been an excuse for a rock, but alas no beans. I'm not going back.
The worst flavor for my carne asada burrito..Pricel was high.
Cannot believe the ordering service so bad and rude.
I've been there many times before and always been somewhat satisfied but tonight It Takes the Cake completely put off the food tonight was totally disgusting Plus I pointed to the waitress what I wanted it says they have two things close on the menu I got the other remind you even though I pointed to what I wanted and she was very Snappy she said I gave you what you ordered that was a lie what they did serve me what's extremely Bland totally tasteless and then excusable and please look at the glass they serving me my beer in something black on the bottom disgusting no excuse shame on you people used to be acceptable now it's just nasty
The food was greasy and bland no flavor at all the salsa tasted sour..I would not recommend or ever go back..The waitress was very pleasant.
Carnitas were dry, crisp taco shells tasted like they fryed them a day or two before. The salsa had a funny plastic container flavor. But worst of it all it gave me the runs and gas for a day and a half. All bad! Will definately never eat there again.
I don't know how this place has 4.1 Stars. I ordered three different types of burritos one carne asada one shredded chicken and one chopped chicken all three burritos we're different sizes and mainly filled with refried beans( that's all I tasted) I personally hate the carne asada burrito which tasted like the meat tasted like it was old! The burritos are close to $10 and only come with beans rice and sour cream in which ever meat! I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!
As a person who has ate mexican food all his life didnt expect much but they where the Worst enchiladas I've ever had its hard not to be mean but it was terrible the menu is all the same ingredients only served differently me and my girlfriend where the only ones there and the service was very bad my girlfriend was very upset I recently tried again and got a taco I couldn't think anyone could mess up a 4 ingredient item but they managed to ,the meat was so bad and it's so pricey I honestly prefer to eat adalbertos then here I would think they'd step it up and I hope they do wish them well and hope for the sake of their business they start tasting the food before sending it out
It's not worth it. The food was basic with no taste. It's too much prices for taste and portion.
We ordered food on there website, it should of been 18.00 plus tax..when we arrived to pick up it was over $31.00. When we questioned the price there answer was. "Oh that's an old menu". Hell!! You need to up date your menu!!! I believe that false advertising!!
I went here off recommendations from Rancho Cordova site. The food was terrible and over priced. I ordered 2 Carne Asada tacos with refried beans on the side. I literally had to keep spitting out chunks of steak as it was so tough you could not even chew it. I paid $3 for a side of guacamole. It was not even guacamole. It was like a verde salsa, with a twitch of Avocado in it. The salsa tasted like vinegar, it was so old. Th
Very disappointing very dissatisfied... I ordered an asada burrito, dry, no beans, with pico from the 750 lunch menu that 1. Was 90% rice...2...rolled like a 5yo did it. 3. No pico 4. The waitress seemed put out by my order AND 4. I was charged 9.75! From other positive reviews (read AFTER my experience) I guess one shouldn't deviate from the menu... but I'll pass on the entire restaurant.
My husband and I ate here last night. I got the ranchero enchiladas and he got fajitas. My husband said the fajitas were edible but not good. My enchiladas were the worst I’ve ever attempted to eat in my life. Tasted horrible and had no flavor. The beans were the same. Rice was okay. I ate 3 bites and that’s it. When the waitress came to pick up my husbands plate she just took mine as well and didn’t seem bothered that my plate was basically untouched. She didn’t offer a togo box or ask if everything tasted okay. Wouldn’t ever recommend this place.
The individual who took my order informed me that Coke was in a bottle and asked if Pepsi was okay instead. I said yes Pepsi is fine. I received a coke in a bottle after confirming that Pepsi was instead the option that I wanted. The guy told me “No, you asked for coke”. When I disagreed they took the coke bottle I didn’t want and rolled their eyes as they did so. Maybe if apple airpods were not being used while taking orders you could hear the customer request to change the drink choice and I could have tried the food. Walked out, won’t be back.
Worst food ever. They put red sauce on bean and cheese burritos. The food smells awful and old. I would give them negative stars, but I had to put one star in order to post this.

Worst burrito I have ever had, do not recommend the Colorado burrito. Inside was comparable to dog food. The dish had zero spice and flavor.
No stars if allowed. Don't eat here! First time here for us and the LAST! Only came here cuz we were in the area. The only waitress in this place got our order wrong after her initial confusion for a simple order. Food finally came and it was still wrong and not even that good. My son couldn't even eat his food and was too upset to explain it again to her and wait even longer. She took on a very nasty attitude when I told her the order was wrong saying we were wrong. What! No tip for her. Nobody else in this place but us and it wasn't very clean. Upon entering we commented there were no other cars here. Now we know why it was so empty. Never again.

No tip for her. Nobody else in this place but us and it wasn't very clean. Upon entering we commented there were no other cars here. Now we know why it was so empty. Never again.
