Amazing food and great service. The atmosphere in here is wonderful and there is a very nice large bar and an open kitchen. There are excellent vegetarian options as well! Top notch. I highly recommend the chocolate lava cake :)

Excellent service and food! Walked in with no reservation and were seated at a nice table immediately... Had a wonderful Anniversary dinner!

Had an amazing birthday celebration here. We've eaten at many Roy's in the past but I have to say this was the best. The food and the atmosphere was unbelievable, but what made it the best was the service! David Luis has to be one of the best waiters we've had serve us, maybe ever. We consider ourselves foodies and have dined at many, many places. His knowledge and recommendations of what food to order, what drinks to try was spot on. In fact, except for not ordering the wine, we trusted every recommendation he made and ordered it. We were not disappointed. I highly recommend asking for him! Then the attention by the management making sure everything was satisfactory was also on a scale second to none. The manager Randy Collins was personable and knowledgeable and made sure we were having a GREAT time! I told him they should have David train all their staff... :) Again, is the best Roy's we've been to and has to be one of the best run restaurants we've dined at. We'll be back soon, you can count on it!

We went for lunch. The restaurant has a Hawaiian feel with hostess that greats you with Aloha. Very quiet by 1pm as we were the only people. The wine menu has good selection of wines by the glass, and if prefering a bottle they have that, too. We started with an egg roll appetizer. I ordered the lunch special with soup, salad, fried chicken entree, and cookies for dessert. Stephen had the burger saying it was cooked perfectly. Not inexpensive they are a 3-4 star for pricing.

My wife and I enjoyed our visit very much. Everything was good from service and atmosphere to food. Well presented and delicious. Would definitely recomend.

A place everyone should experience at least once! Great food! Great Service! Save your pennies though!

Had a great time. Absolutely delicious food and top notch service despite having to tend to an extra large group of people. Will be coming back for more.

This place is sooo good! #1 order the ribs, other favorites the Maui wowi salad, and sushi is delicious especially when Bernice is making it! Don't forget to save room for dessert! OMG the pineapple upside down cake will melt in your mouth! Lava cake and key lime are good too! Checkout the dessert pic! YUM!

The seafood was incredible, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We will definitely dine here again.

We have eaten at multiple locations in Hawaii and Rancho Mirage and they are consistently good. Fish selections are fresh and uniquely prepared. Waygu burger at the Aloha Hour was really good with a Sunnyside up egg on top. 1988 cocktail is outstanding and unique to the Rancho Mirage location. Some of the desserts such as macadamia nut bread pudding and pineapple upside cake have a Hawaiian influence. At the Rancho Mirage location Lapperts ice cream is brought over from Hawaii to accompany both of these desserts.

Had the Lobster Bisque and it was to die for, smooth and creamy and big chunks of real lobster, mmmmmm. The staff and service was outstanding.

Awesome place to eat - very intimate and personable. Food is top notch and a big variety. Groupons is the way to go - if you can get ahold of one. This will be my designated anniversary dinner spot from now on - 3 years running.

Always a delightful evening. All the staff there hustle, very friendly, smile, and helpful. We went in for happy hour this time and filled our tummies with delectable eats and drinks. Roy's rocks!

Some of the best and most consistent food around. Servers are amazing also! Gotta LOVE when the employees come back here to eat on their days off. LOVE their Aloha (Happy) Hour but when in the desert, you'd better get there early, otherwise you won't get a seat. It's packed! My fav is the Ebi roll and ribs. Not on the Aloha menu but you have to finish up with the chocolate souffle...yummee! Order it early, cause it takes a while. It was also cool to sit at the bar and watch the kitchen choreography.

We love Roy's. Been to the LA and OC locations, but this is our favorite (first one we visited). Bar mixes great drinks, and the young staff are highly trained to take good care of you. Favorite dish is the short ribs, but everything is well executed.

We have been here several times, always interesting unique menu items. It's hard to choose what to order but we have never been disappointed! Also the Roy's Chardonnay is quite good and reasonably priced for the level of restaurant.

This was my first time eating at Roy’s. The service was great. Our waiter had a good sense of humor and fun. Not to mention Joey Domingo, our head chef, made our experience that much more impactful and tasty. We will be coming back and I’m Sure Joey and staff won’t disappoint. Thank you all again for a heck of a time

Excellent! 5 stars! Service - perfect! Friendly , informative staff! Free valet.. again helpful, friendly! Food.. WOW! Try the Ribs.. and the Lobster potstickers!!! We were completely enraptured! How is that we hadn't tried this place? Price point was good. 10 - 30 bucks. Happy hour is fun and my martini was excellent AND Happy hour goes until 7pm. We absolutely will be back! Highly recommended !!!

Great food great atmosphere friendly staff and amazing happy hour. I look forward to coming back again the next time I'm in town. If you want to go to happy hour get there at least 45 minutes early because it fills up fast and the bar will be your only option (not at all a bad thing, however it is easier to be social when you're sitting across from someone as opposed to next to them at the bar)left for seating.

It was first time experience and it was very enjoyable from the moment I came through the door with my family to celebrate together. Reservations were made and was promptly seat in a location that made it easy in and out exit from the table. Backing out without having to worry if a person was seated behind me. Being in a wheelchair and not being able to see very well what is behind this made for a more relaxed experience when it was necessary to leave the table to head to the ladies room and back to the table to be with my family. The server was very knowledgeable about the menu items for the evening dinners. Also noticed we had closed are menus to indicate that we were ready to order. I was able to switch out the rice for garlic mashed potatoes that I prefer as I have never acquired a taste for rice

Just the BEST! We have eaten at Roy's in Hawaii, Pebble beach, San Francisco well you get the point. Every meal was magnificent. Beautiful presentation fabulous food excellent service!

Randy the manager is awesome! Great people person. He took our 2 yrs old to a toy chest to pick out a toy before dinner (which he played with the whole time) and made sure he was taken care through the whole evening, which in turn helped my wife and I enjoy a nice dinner out. Thank you Randy! Our server was Jocelyn and was great as well!

J

If you are not ready for an expensive night, don't bother. However, the uniqueness of the meals are well worth a trip. The majority of the meals are seafood, as should be expected. Nothing was overcooked, for sure. My wife had the three fish sampler, and I had the seared scallops. There were so many full, rich flavors in both meals, and nothing overpowered the seafood, but paired well with it. As a beer guy, the absence of a beer selection is somewhat disappointing, but the rest of the meal made up for it. Take the sweetheart out for a memorable meal, and enjoy something a little different.

Roy's has the BEST seafood my husband and I have ever eaten! Kim was our waitress and she was beyond phenomenal! It's always great when you can tell a person loves what they do and Kim certainly does! Overall was a fantastic experience and I would give this more stars if I could!

Great atmosphere, service and the food was fantastic! The Braised beef ribs was so tender I cut it with my fork, and my wife loved her jumbo Prongs. We also had a side order of lobster Mac and Cheese...OMG! We topped it off with a Pineapple upside down cake and scoop of vanilla icecream that we shared. I will be going back again!

This was one of the most finest dining experiences I have had. The food was amazing, and the service was remarkable. Our waitress was both very polite and kind. I would most definitely recommend this restaurant!!

Food and service were very good. We were warmly welcomed by two lovely young women. Our server was courteous and knowledgeable. Since dietary restrictions prevented me from eating any of the delicious desserts on the menu, she suggested some fresh fruit. The chefs created a dish of fresh raspberries and strawberries that was presented beautifully. It was a great date night experience.

This is a place of quality over quantity. Our server did everything that he could to ensure that our experience at Roy's, would be remembered. The ambiance was inviting and intimate, the decor was modern and elegant and the food, well the food was... outstanding!!! Portions weren't overwhelming or heavy, as if the chef prepared our meals on clouds and the taste captivates your senses and doesn't let go until your finished. Highly recommend and will be returning.

Roy's is one of my favorites and this location aimed to please like all others I've been to. We went for a friend's birthday and the VIP birthday treatment and hospitality, without being over the top, was lovely. Overall the service was out of this world....and the food met my expectations for Roy's. SO very delicious. Don't forget to enjoy a signature cocktail and save room for a dessert. Simply delightful.

This is typically a very good dining experience. They make really good drinks and the service is very good. My last visit, I had outstanding service, unfortunately the steak I ordered was of poor cut and it seemed over seasoned to compensate, when I told the waiter he was not surprised and took it off my check.

We tried out Roy's by happy accident on a Sunday morning. I ordered a seafood omelet and my fiancé ordered a pulled pork Benedict. Both dishes were flavorful and amazing. After tasting his Benedict, though, I questioned my recent life choices. The Benedict knocked it out of the park and I became envious. Thankfully, my fiancé is selfless, generous, and allowed me to eat half his breakfast. Yuuummo.

Great service, good food! We had two birthdays and the service was up to the task of eight of us as well. Very personable, took group photos of us and was just good all way around. Great time.

Enjoyed happy hour ribs and lobster potstickers. Wonderful! Then moved to a booth for a birthday dinner. Birthday girl was treated to a card and flowers from the restaurant. Macadami crusted mahi mahi was delicious. Butter fish was a delight. Only complaint - ordered chocolate souffle same time as our meal but never received it. Server played it down and said she must have missed it and there would be a free one next time.

The food was awesome. We did the tasting menu - watermelon salad, ginger tuna with Brussel sprouts and pork belly, molasses tart with ice cream. It was amazing. Servers were fantastic, professional, helpful, everything I expected. Loved the keike menu with slightly more sophisticated options. My son had grilled salmon with Jasmine rice. Yum.

An amazing dining experience, staff is well trained and respectful as they provide excellent service. As residents who enjoy dining out, we recognize and enjoy casual dining experience, however I believe there should be dress codes for all diners to adhere to and enforced by employees as necessary. I don't think casual attire should include flip flops, beach attire (not swimwear per se but attire normally worn at the beach or some outdoor events). I believe business casual for both men and women should be expected of all who come to a restaurant of this caliber.

It's good food pure and simple. It's a chain. Chains have never really gone over the top. It's pricey for what it is. If nothing else good is open or you can't get in anywhere else hit up this place, you'll leave happy and full.

L
Liz Mad

Delicious food and new flavors that I had not eaten before. The food is a bit on the sweat side but still very tasty. The portions are small so I recommend ordering a couple appetizer 😏

Had a good birthday celebration with a group of 6. Good service from the waitress. Good cocktails.Tried several recommendations from the waitress. Good selection of wine. The selection of infused Hawaiian dishes were nothing more sparkling than any other lobster/steak combination at a upscale dining. I must do say their rice on their Roll is some of the best I've tried with a good soy sauce. I would say only the vegetarian dishes were over priced for practically a mere side of vegetables equating as much as a main entry. I must say not as a friendly vegetarian place. Didn't impress me as to all the hype of a place to having a unique cuisine in the valley. Tried it and moving on!

Our 4th visit to Roys, have to say very disappointed this time. Our table wobbled had to get staff to stabilize it. Then when our Salmon and Rib Eye steak was served we didn't get served our sides, had to ask for it from one of the servers. Our waitress never came by to see how we were doing, or if the steak was cooked to my husband's liking. Half was under done, other over done and chewy. This is not a cheap restaurant yet the experience was as if. The potatoes were dry and tasted like instant and was the size of a small soup bowl. Would not recommend highly.

The service is great here and we had a good time. The food was ok but not spectacular. For, the price I expected better food. I ordered the special and the braised short ribs were great, but the butter fish was just ok. I would not recommend as the food was marginal overall.

While visiting Palm Springs, we were looking forward to eating at Roy's. Ordered a favorite dish "lobster bisque", so disappointed. Very little flavor, way too much flour, and the lobster was tough....ugh. We had to ask for utensils, ask for more wine.....not a busy night to miss so many marks. Unfortunately, we will not go there again.

As much as I wanted to LOVE this place we did not.. When we first sat down we thought ok this looks nice. The food on the other hand was only soso.. the pork ribs had a great sauce but a lot of fat. The crispy shrimp was baby shrimp and not that great. The entree with 4 pieces of fish was good.. but only because of the Butter Fish. The Wagyu roll was not very good.. and the slim on top was not appealing to the eye. Our waiter was nice but our glasses were constantly empty... I only had iced tea. Then our bill came and HOLY COW!!!! HE GAVE US THE WRONG BILL.. whew. But for the price it was a major dissapointment. We have no desire to ever go back. The restaurant was pretty empty.. at 7 on a Friday night...

The Misoyaki Butterfish used to be so good years ago. This time it was way over-adulterated with a complex sauce that totally killed the natural wonderful flavor that the fish has. A simple miso sauce or marinade would have sufficed and the fish would have been spectacular. The fish was a little undercooked, making it mushy rather than a little flaky for better texture. The sample boat, which was a shared dish, was overpriced for what's on it. The pot sticker was too small, 1 of the 2 small ribs was mostly gristle though it would have been very tasty, the 2 chicken skewers were skimpy but sauce was good. We shared a lobster roll, which was a little on the skinny side and rolled too loosely so fell apart easily. The price should be lowered if they're going to serve skinny sushi rolls. The poke bowl is excellent, sauce was good. I had a guest both times. Don't know if I'll ever go there again.

The Mothers Day menu had a good selection, however the filet mignon was very small and the ribeye steak was thin, over cooked and tasted as if it had been frozen, not fresh. The bill for 3 people was over $223.00, which is fine if the food had been better. Also, waitress told me that they are no longer associated with the Roys in Maui . That explains the bad food...

Mark Stephens

Food was great service was good, the atmosphere was terrible. Don't ever sit in the main dining room. It is open to the kitchen and the noise level was unbearable. Pots, pans, and dishes being slammed down the entire time. The cooks and servers constantly yelling. The wait staff literally run from the open kitchen to the dining room all night. Couldn't carry on a conversation. If I'm going out to a nice dinner I expect a nice evening out, not a night of stress. I couldn't wait to get out of this restaurant and go somewhere else for a drink.

L

Very disappointed with service and fact that David not there as requested. Made reservation around information given when called in. Could have come another night. Put in side room with large family with several "active" kids and noisey. Not what I expect at $200 dinner! Roy's has been a favorite and spot for celebrations with family...if yesterday had been first; probably would have been last. Food was excellent as always but very slow.

N
Neil Johnson

Food was less than mediocre. Service wasn't bad but not great. The dining room needs a good scrub. Very disappointed in our entres. The only seasoning we could taste was salt. I will not return. Go to Walley's Desert Turtle or even Tommy Bahamas instead.

Have been going to Roy's since 1996. It is one of our favorite Restaurants. The atmosphere is so relaxing. Sometimes, I think I am in the South Pacific. To those have not yet tried this Restaurant, TRY IT. Very relaxing...

2/14/2018. We went to roy''s restaurant to have dinner and celebrate valentine's day. We had a reservation so when we arrived it took them to gave us a table. Like 20 minutes. OK the waiter. Came right away. And Brought US The drinks. OK good. 30 minutes later. He came with a salad. And 30 minutes. Later he came back with the appetizers and then they didn't show up again till another 20 minutes just to serve us more water and water for 1 hr. It was 9:50pm. And they brought our dinner. After all I got so mad and desperate that I told the waiter please bug my dinner. Is ready. I can stay no more is already 2 hrs. And we don't see any food for us. I thought they will be ashamed about it but no. We still ending paying. $167.00 And the food was no good and cold first and last time there. Bad bad really terrible service.
