My wife and I loved the arancini and both our pasta dishes came out quite well, the Carbonara and especially the Pappardelle Ragù! Will certainly go back to try their Amatriciana

Nestled in Rathgar, Dublin 6, this Italian restaurant offers an unforgettable dining experience. The food is authentic and high-quality, with a rich menu that brings the genuine taste of Italy to every dish. Their desserts are a must-try—the tiramisu is the best I've ever had, and the brownies are equally sensational. A highly recommended spot for a true taste of Italy in Dublin.

I have been wanting to try Piano Piano for quite a while now as I had positive vibes about it. Now that I have done I am sure we'll go back to visit it! We like the menu that contains mostly traditional dishes and some twists. Just enough to make it interesting without being that too much that makes it feel not genuine. For my starter I had polpette (meatballs) and I found them particularly nice. The choice of putting in also some lamb meat gave it that special kick and made them interesting without losing the "reassuranciness" character polpette are usually chosen for. I intentionally wanted to experiment with the best root risotto knowing that it would have been too sweet for my usual taste. I found it well balanced with gorgonzola never being too loud but also more present than I normally find in restaurants in Ireland which tend to underuse. If I may give a suggestion, I would improve the dessert menu. I hardly ever eat tiramisu in restaurants because I have very precise ideas about that. There were not many options left that were not what I could find in any cafe.

I truly cannot fault this beautiful restaurant. The service was amazing - staff are so welcoming ! The food was absolutely delicious. I continue to come back here time and time again with my partner. There is something on the menu for everyone! Best Italian food I’ve ever had!!

Wonderful experience. Food was fantastic. Loved the fig salad but was sold out - not surprised. It’s delicious. Really fresh ingredients in every dish. Aperol Spritz great and great wine list. I had spaghetti with prawns and ricotta. We had buratta for starters. My husband had the spaghetti bolognese. No shortcuts here in the kitchen. Everything is properly homemade. Fantastic buzzy atmosphere. I’d highly recommend Piano Piano. It plays to our tune! Well done to Nahid and her team. 🙌🙌🙌 Lovely complimentary Limoncello with the bill. 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Book it.

Piano Piano is a fantastic Italian restaurant that made my birthday truly special! The dishes were incredibly well-made and affordable, and the service was exceptionally welcoming. All the waiters, especially Domenico, were friendly and attentive. I can't wait to return and try more items on the menu!

I’ve been to Piano Piano five times now and I absolutely love this place. Every time, I’ve ordered a different dish and they have all been excellent. First time, I had the pistachio pesto pasta which was absolutely delicious (my mother loved it too). On another visit I had the pasta carbonara which was unbelievably good - rich, creamy and the guanciale ham in it was so flavourful. I’ve also had two different pizzas - the Layla and the Carbonara - both excellent. Good dough, quality toppings. But the most outstanding dish for me was the fillet steak served with pepper sauce. My dad and I both ordered it cooked well done, and seriously, it was one of the best steaks either of us have ever had. The staff are Italian so they know what they’re doing. An Italian friend of mine came and said they cooked the pasta just like in Italy: “al dente”. He was impressed. The servers are wonderful and very professional, and the atmosphere is top class. 5 stars all 5 times. Love this place and will be back many more times with friends and family.

Came here for an anniversary and had a wonderful experience, all of the staff were absolutely lovely and so helpful, the food was unbelievable and they even took a complimentary polaroid of us to remember the occasion, already booked in for valentines day!

We went here last night with my work colleagues to celebrate our wedding. Working in the food industry it is not easy to please chef's. I got absolutely nothing but complements regarding our choice of venues. The food was top notch. We cannot wait to come back again.

First time in Piano Piano on Friday. Lovely, friendly Italian restaurant with a relatively small but very well thought out menu with plenty of options for both meat eaters and vegetarians. The chicken saltimbocca was sublime and a highlight for me. We'll definitely be back.

My family and I booked this restaurant for my graduation. The food was amazing, could not fault one thing. We were a group of 6 and they put us on a round table which is so much nicer than a long table. We really enjoyed the experience. The staff were extremely nice and very efficient, would highly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our three-course lunch at Piano Piano. The food - courtesy of supremely talented chef Nibaldo - was superb and the service - in the person of Shyann - was highly professional and polite. Put simply, we can't recommend the restaurant highly enough. Thank you for the experience.

We went to Piano Piano for our dinner last night. Our food was absolutely delicious. As a half Italian family, we were delighted to get some authentic Italian food. The portions are perfect. I had the mussels for starters, just gorgeous and the tomato sauce was to die for. For mains I had the Spaghetti alle vongole. The pasta was perfectly cooked, clams as well. Very flavourful. And you can't beat tiramisu for dessert. Plenty of bad ones out there, this definitely wasn't one of those. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. Very welcoming. The atmosphere was relaxed. Will definitely be back for more!

Six of us came for dinner and chose the early bird menu, which is fantastic value. We’ve been to Piano Piano before, and the menu has changed a small bit, Everything we had was delicious, especially the pizza and the meatballs. A really lovely evening and highly recommend.

Visited with my friend for first time. We shared Bruschetta to start, she had sea bass and I had chicken as main. The food was absolutely delicious. The portions were not too big which is perfect as large portions put us both off. Atmosphere was lovely. Not too noisy .

Really nice place. Been here twice, once with family and second with my partner. Very kind and attentive staff. Food was very tasty and presentation was great. The “pink” cocktail is very delicious. 100% would go back here again. Music is also really relaxing. 😊 We ordered 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 drinks and one side. It was just over €130 all together including tip. I don’t mind spending over €100 on tasty authentic food.

The food was excellent. Would highly recommend the bruschetta and the meatballs as I dream about that melt in your mouth bread for days.

The food in Piano Piano is fantastic. This is its saving grace. During our most recent visit, the service was sweet and friendly, but ultimately very inexperienced and slow. It was frustrating to have to ask multiple times for items we had ordered that hadn't arrived. For some inexplicable reason, the air-conditioning was not set correctly despite the restaurant being packed and very hot on a Saturday evening. I will return but would avoid the peak times and going there with a large party for a special occasion. The acoustics of the space during peak times are a bit overwhelming.

Read the reviews and went to Piano Piano with good expectations. The main courses we chose were bland - and there was one waiter who seemed to think he was "superior" to the other waiting staff...he was anything but that. All in all, not an amazing experience.

Chose to go for the Early Bird Menu assuming it would be a cheaper option, now naive was I. I chose for starters the meatballs in a tomato sauce; a dish I wouldn't make myself. The sauce had a rich tomatoey flavour & over all it was a nice dish. Then I went for the Calzone which looked very nice when it came out and tasted okay with ample filling but unfortunately it was cold. Eventually I asked for it to be reheated which they barely did and in no time it was cold again. It wasn't the only thing that was. The inside door let in such a cold draft that the people near it asked to be reseated elsewhere and although I was sitting by the wall & window a bit away I felt the sharp draft of cold each time the door opened, one is better seated on the non opening side of the door in fact the restaurant was nippier than I would have liked. A drink was supposed to be included in my meal and when it dawned on me and I asked they enquired would I like a beer or wine. When I told them i didn't drink they told me I couldn't have a soft drink which i accepted uncomplainingly. 10 minutes later they changed their mind about it. Later on I discovered I could have had my meal cheaper if I'd gone off the A la Carte Menu so besides the staff not being transparent about it & making sure I got a good value for money, service and experience they were also unbelievable scabby initially in relation to my drink and had an initially very unfair attitude to non drinkers. Glad I didn't leave a tip. I hope it was worth it for them because I won't be returning. Buyer beware.

Had a nice meal which was a pizza at €19.00. ask for a second beer never got it and charged only saw Bill later. Found the atmosphere a little loud as we were very close to other diners. Service good not rushed. Other part of party enjoyed meals. I would return but would be only if booked by other.

Was here this evening as have been many times before and and could not fault the place. However, this evening was completely different. The contast in the food was immense. I have always complimented the food. Tonight I and a friend ordered the bruchetta and a side salad and a portion of fries. The fries were inedible, the bruchetta was cheap tomatoes on plain bread, no garlic, no olive oil and some iceberg around it. The price was €10.50. There was no dressing on the salad. It was all awful. We told the waiter who was absolutely lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. We ordered a portion of sautéed potatoes as we hadn't eaten anything. They were hard and inedible. Extremely disappointing. They took salads, and chips of the bill but we left very hungry. It just seems that standard have dropped which is disappointing in a restaurant which we highly respected.

J

Orderd the veal starter which was tasty but expensive for 6 small slices. The seafood pasta was disappointing. For nearly 30 euro you would expect a much larger portion and actual fresh seafood. There was no squid in it either. Tiramisu was also disappointing. Service good but I wouldn't return

Decent tasting food, but shrinkflation has hit these guys hard. €14 for 3 small meatballs in a standard tomato sauce. €6 for 3 slices of bread in the "breadbasket" that was labeled sourdough but certainly wasn't. €12 for 3 lettuce leaves in a Caesar salad. On top of that, there's a service charge for group of 4.

Very disappointing experience. When mine and my partner's mains came out, both dishes were incorrect. He kept his as he'd eat anything but I was served chicken, as a vegetarian. Never a good experience staring at someone as they eat which you wait or your meal and I wasn't going to have his go cold while we waited. I had been advised that it would be quick (3 minutes), but it was more like 10 before mine was out again. They should have taken his back - clearly the waiter didn't indicate on the docket which 'meat' was to go with which dish (when ordering, my partner moved from the default prawns to chicken but ended up with prawns and I the chicken). When my main did finally come, it wasn't anything to write home about. I would not recommend this restaurant at all, unfortunately. We were then presented with the bill with the waiter indicating a 'small discount', and you bet it was small at a 10% when they just spoiled our whole meal. I wouldn't waste my time going near it again. Might have softened the blow had they removed my meal from the bill - very, very poor service and poor judgement not to reflect experience in pricing the bill. Greedy.

Well, I had a reservation through EarlyTable, which is a website where you can eat with a discount. I made the reservation for Valentine’s Day, but when I arrived, the receptionist told me that I didn’t have a reservation because I had booked through EarlyTable, and they had canceled all reservations made through that site two weeks before February 14th. However, on February 13th, I received a confirmation email from EarlyTable. I had to change my plans at the last minute with my wife, almost ruining our night because of a prejudiced receptionist who lied to my face just to have customers who wouldn’t get a discount, allowing them to make more money. I do not recommend it!

I recently visited Piano Piano Dublin 6. The food was decent, but the service was very disappointing. We received our starter without issue, but then waited over an hour for our main course. During that time, tables who arrived after us were served their mains and even finished dessert. When I raised this with the manager, she didn’t acknowledge the delay and insisted everything was served in order, which was frustrating and dismissive. Because of this, I would give one star for the service. The way the situation was handled completely ruined the experience for us.
