I was at dinner on Friday evening our server was very attentive great personality it's her birthday and couple of days and I heard she's going to the coast happy birthday to her. I think her name is Joyce. Food was fantastic I had that beef stroganoff my friends had lasagna and my other friend had chicken fettuccine. Great food with exceptional service. This is just one of Karlines restaurants and she brings her well known quality food and hospitality to this one as well. Most of the restaurant is well appointed unless you get stuck in the back which feels like you’re eating in a blank room. Overall great dinner and would recommend.

So far I think Karlines is my New Favorite restaurant. The Atmosphere was wonderful, the staff was eager to please, the Food was Amazing. Filet Mignon, Ribeye steak, calamari Salad with Karlines homemade dressing, dessert did not disappoint either.

Tonight was our 1st time here and we throughly enjoyed the experience. The staff were warm and welcoming. The food was delicious! We are on Keto diets and they were able to accommodate us easily with our orders. I had the chicken Marsala and hubby had the jambalaya. Both of our meals had great flavors! I had a very good lunch recently and have always liked the menu and service. I used to attend the dinners with wine pairings which were excellent. The atmosphere is great for Redding - clean, bright and social but not too loud. It's always been a great place for business lunches.

New favorite date night spot! I had the shrimp scampi and it exceeded expectations! We will be back for sure! The only thing that wasn’t incredible was my tiramisu for dessert- it did taste a tad bit stale/old/not fresh, but it was still pretty good. Overall I still give it 5/5! Most places I leave feeling heavy or my stomach feels irritated after, but here I left feeling exactly how I’d hope to feel after a good meal made with care & high quality ingredients!

We came here for our 18th anniversary. We called ahead and got reservations. When we arrived we were seated promptly. The staff was very nice and the pasta was perfect. I got the chicken pesto special and my husband got the shrimp scampi. After looking at the pictures online I was a little concerned about the portion sizes, they are much larger than they appear in the photos. I was very pleased and had some to bring home as well.

Stumbled upon this place and didn't know what to expect but it is some of the best food I've had in Redding and loved our experience. My wife and I will be telling friends and definitely be back.

My family and I celebrated an impromptu event here. Luckily they were able to seat us even without a reservation during the holidays. The food was great and I enjoyed some great wine. We have dined out in a lot of restaurants in Redding and last night we went to Karlines. We were very impressed. All of the food was outstanding and our waiter was fantastic! We are definitely going back soon. Thank you for perfection! We also loved that the entrees come with soup or salad and that fresh delicious bread is also served.

WOW, JUST WOW! My experience from making the reservation to paying the check was absolutely phenomenal. The staff went above and beyond for my mom's 80th birthday dinner. Our server Nichole and her " support" staff were attentive, kind, and extremely efficient. The food was absolutely delicious. 7 different dishes, salads and soups all prepared to perfection. 6 out of the 7 of us had never been to Karlines before.....but we will surely be back!!!

Great atmosphere excellent communication with entire facility staff members, went out on a dinner date arrived a bit earlier then reservations were setup for and upon entry the host offers a spot at the bar where we found a fabulous display of all options and a great menu to get ideas from as the house was a bit full on a Saturday evening the lovely bartenders assured we would be served right away and we were shortly after watching her skills of creating drinks for orders from prior to our arrival once our order was in we received exactly and on point what we requested then she(bartenders) served others and verified with us that our drink levels were just fine and checked the reserve status which was great once seated for dinner everything was fonaminal service once again from our waiter from dipping bread to apps and then on to salads and main meal carrying on into our dessert the service was absolutely perfect. Karlines has great cocktails, delicious food, and friendly and professional service. This trip we had drinks and appetizers. Meatballs were tasty and the Buratta Caprese is a must try. It is a meal itself. Check Karlines out. You won't be disappointed.

This was my first time here and it was amazing! My bf made a reservation for us for our date night and it was great from the start. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. Our server Hunter was super friendly and knowledgeable. He had excellent recommendations, a sense of humor and was all around just fun! We were served each item in a timely fashion and he checked on us frequently. Hunter made us feel very comfortable and welcome. Decor was great and the atmosphere warm. Our food was so good! We had the seafood fettuccine and everything tasted so fresh! We will back for another date night in the future for sure!

Very good food. I had the pastrami sandwich with fries; the pastrami was a little dry but the fries were some of the best I've ever had. I was also very impressed with the service. My work had our staff holiday lunch here; there were about 20 of us and one server. She was very sweet, patient, and never lost her smile. Definitely a $$ kinda place.

I have been there only once, and I loved it. I had their sausage pizza, and normally just one topping is kind of boring to me, but this sausage was cooked just right, with the perfect blend of cheese, crust, and sauce. The service was also excellent. I didn't particularly like the location, but the food was good, so I can't complain. I would probably go more than once if the location was more visible though; out of sight, out of mind.

A place to take your best girl. Classy appointments, superior &friendly staff, first rate chow and you can both have ice cream for a light desert for less than the price of three scoops at Rite Aid. Soup & half sandwich of the day is a real bargain ($10) and you won't be hungry, I promise. The meat on my sandwich stuck out all around. I was shocked when I walked into this restaurant. I knew that they had changed locations, aiming towards a better atmosphere for their customers. It was just stunning the moment you walked in the door. Classy, clean, the hostess met us with a smile. We were sat in the first few minutes and breakfast was on our table when we were done with our 1st cup of coffee. The corn beef and hash is excellent! This is definitely my new go to spot for a fabulous breakfast!

My first time there was Valentine’s Day for a first date and I’m not sure why I’ve never been in before! The food was melt in your mouth amazing!! We had a great server who took care of us with a smile, the atmosphere was perfect and again the food is amazing. Thanks for making our first date a night to remember. An unexpected gem in Redding. We went to Karlines while visiting the in-laws and I was utterly blown away by how great it was. A rather bland exterior conceals a beautiful inside area with an exposed central kitchen and bar up front. We had called ahead and reserved a table, and were seated promptly. Our server Joyce was wonderful: fast, polite, and personable. The drinks were good, with a decent variety of wines, cocktails, and beers. The food was even better. We had the burrata plate and calamari as starters, both of which were very good. The pesto and fresh tomatoes helped cut the richness of the burrata and the grilled lemon half added brightness and complexity to the calamari. We followed that with the chicken marsala, the garlic prawns, and the two daily specials of prime rib and sesame encrusted ahi ahi. The chicken marsala and garlic prawns were wonderful, both rich and cooked perfectly with the mashed potatoes and risotto as perfect compliments to the entrees, respectively. I personally ordered the mahi-mahi and was blown away. The fish tasted fresh and was perfectly seared. Complimenting this was a beautiful creamy and rich avocado pesto pasta, which in a stroke of genius, was mixed with crispy wonton strips at the bottom of the plate to prevent textural homogeneity. My SO ordered the prime rib and was delighted. Though I don't eat red meat, it looked perfectly cooked and tender, with a bed of mashed potatoes and asparagus. We followed this up with the order of the silken chocolate cake and raspberry creme brulee, both of which exceeded expectations and capped off a truly wonderful meal. If you are in the area and looking for a nice dining experience, I can say that Karlines simply must be near the top on your list of options.

My partner and I had our first year anniversary here and had amazing service then, staff was very friendly and quick, food was delicious. Last night, I got engaged here and the staff accommodated my fiancé to the best of their ability, they were super busy being a Friday night but still went above and beyond for us, we’re both so grateful! I wish I had asked for everyone’s names but thank you to Karline’s staff for helping to make such a memorable night even more special, especially having been so busy!! My fiancé and I agree Karline’s is just the best in Redding :)

Service was excellent and food was amazing. I had the Prime Rib special and it was cooked perfect, I asked for medium rare. It came with mashed potatoes and veggies. Big portion, I ended up sharing it with my boyfriend. I will definitely be back!!

The moment we walked in, we were greeted by the sweetest hostess with a gorgeous smile and welcoming energy. We let her know about our reservation and were seated right away. The restaurant was full of happy diners, and despite the cozy space, it wasn’t loud or chaotic. The dim lighting and romantic atmosphere made it feel like the perfect date night spot. We kicked things off with the fried artichokes (highly recommend!), and stuck with water to drink. For dinner, I went with the Cranberry Chicken Salad paired with a cup of minestrone soup, while my husband opted for the ribeye steak with added mushrooms and a side salad. Everything came out in perfect timing—first the appetizer, then some warm bread and our soup/salad, and finally our entrees. The service was smooth and unhurried, which I appreciated. When the main dishes arrived, we were both surprised by how generous the portions were. My salad was crisp, fresh, and dressed just right. And my husband’s steak? Cooked to perfection and full of flavor. We were so tempted by the crème brûlée but too full to take it on this time—next visit, for sure. The total bill came to $100, which is pretty average for a nice dinner these days. All in all, we give Karline’s a solid 10/10. We were sat in the first few minutes and breakfast was on our table when we were done with our 1st cup of coffee. The corn beef and hash is excellent! This is definitely my new go to spot for a fabulous breakfast!

Service was outstanding, and the food was good. I had the steamed clam entree and really enjoyed it. It was a bit loud, but good spots usually are. Bon appetit

The staff was excellent and so was my salmon. The ribeye was a bit overcooked for ordering medium rare. We asked for a warm table because it was cold outside but it appears the entire restaurant was a bit cold because not only were we cold but I saw another customer in the back who never took her coat or hat off.

Wine just wonderful - Clark & Telephone pino noir - which we enjoyed on Half Price Wednesday. Minestrone soup was wonderful. Vinaigrette on salad delightful. Calamari was overpowered by fried garlic & fried jalapeños. Onion slices were tasteless. Stroganoff was very tasty with steak pieces. Shrimp scampi well done tho the shrimp didn’t need to be breaded. The chicken Caesar would have been better if the chicken pieces were on top instead of mixed in. We had to search for the small pieces. Becky great server.

Can't comment on the food as I was picking up for someone else. However the establishment appeared eloquent and fancy. It appeared to attract the Upper-middle class or the fresh tax return lower class like myself trying to feel rich for a hot second kind of people based on the cars out front. The customer service was outstanding and welcoming and my son was pretty fond of one of the servers so much he threw a tantrum when we left. I'd dine there for sure. I'd suggest leaving the tantrum throwing 2 year olds with a sitter though. Did I mention I was impressed by the customer service?

I liked it. The food was good, intimate atmosphere, very polite staff. It may have been because the restaurant was at full capacity but we waited an hour for our food. I feel the portion size and wait time for the price was a little disappointing.

Food was amazing! Had Nichole as a server. She ignored me most of the night but was very attentive to my boyfriend to the point we both noticed. Real bummer because I enjoy the whole experience of going out not just the food.

Ordered through Door Dasher the other night. It was great! I had chicken fettuccini Alfredo and it was very delicious. The only change I would make is they packed my bread in the box on top of the pasta which made it kind of soggy. Wish it had been packed individually. The pasta was excellent though so I was very happy.

I have been there twice in the last month. The first time everything was absolutely delicious. The meal was good, the service was great, the wine was the great. The second time the service was good, the food was ok and the drinks were just ok. So you just have to figure out which night is the best night to go and stay away on the other ones. I used to go once a month and I always got the same thing. Beef stroganoff, because it's the only place around that makes it. I grew up on that because my stepfather would make it from scratch and it was delicious. This time I was a bit disappointed because it didn't have nearly as many chunks of beef as any time before. I got the Caesar salad as the side dish, and it was just okay nothing great.

My wife and I tried Karlines for the first time. We were greeted and seated right away. Casey was our waiter. He was fantastic. Our son surprised us and brought along the grandkids. He reseated us at a larger table without question and severed us a delicious meal. Thanks for a great evening.

Splendid atmosphere. The food was pretty good though rather overpriced. The special of the evening had been porkchop (the thickest I've seen and quite sumptuous. The red snapper fish & chips were a nice variation of standard, they would have been enhanced by either having been marinated or the batter seasoned. The butternut squash soup was rather disappointing. Mashed potatoes were the best I've had away from home. The salad was quite a nice mix of fresh greens. The dead man's chest cocktail was very lack luster, as was the hibiscus cider as the hibiscus flavor was not percievable. The fried cauliflower was an absolute hit! The service was pretty good. Overall the experience was delightful and do hope we shall partake of it again in the near future.

This was a decent restaurant in general, but probably very good for northern CA standards. Parking was easy in their own lot. Overall I would recommend this place. We had minestrone soup which was a solid classic. The creamy carrot soup sounded interesting, but the flavor was kind of weird. It tasted like I was drinking Mac and cheese. The burrata caprese was great, but I do love my burrata salads. It was loaded with many different things but I don’t think Apple goes in this dish. Chicken Marsala was decent. Mashed potatoes aren’t that great. Pan seared bistro filet was decent as well, aside from the mashed potatoes. The sauce makes the mashed potatoes better but by self it seemed underseasoned. The free focaccia bread could be better.

This is the second time we have gone to Karleen’s at 4 pm opening time without a reservation. The hostess always wants to place us at the very small table for two by the bathroom. I state I don’t want to sit there and she says all of the other tables are reserved. We leave at 5:15pm and only one table in the restaurant has customers. There were guests in the banquet room tonight. I just read previous reviews and the waitress we had tonight had good reviews, she was not friendly to us. Feels like we are in trouble for not making a reservation. No thanks.

Excellent service. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. Cocktails were very good (I had the house-special Mai Thai but can't remember it's name). The seasoned focaccia bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar dipping plate was delicious, as was the creamy polenta. Nice selection of items on the menu. My salmon seemed like it was frozen, not fresh, so it tasted too fishy. All other food was good.

We got the calamari which was delicious. Who hightly recommend. The creme brulee was also really good. But the entree which was $70 for the both of us was just not good. We both got the filet with mashed pot. and asparagus and it was not good. The filet was not tender there were piece I couldnt even cut through so makes me wonder if it was filet or a different cut. The asparagus was stringy and demi glaze was like liquid. But maybe try the fettucine it is house made. The servernwas great and the atmosphere was laid back.

Decided to try Karlines out. Heard lots of good things about it. Was greeted and seated immediately. Heard it was Italian based food but was a little underwhelmed with the menu choices9f the evening. Ordered drinks and shared a shrimp cocktail. Shrimp were excellent. My wife's Pina Colada was disappointing. I had a Old Fashion which was excellent. . We ordered the chicken fettuccine and snapper picata. Chicken was tasty but pasta was a little undercooked for me. Snapper lacked taste needed to add lemon. Wife wished it had more seasoning. Service was above par, very attentive team. Not sure we will go back though, prefer a more traditional Italian restaurant.

Can be good. Pasta is usually good. Meatballs and meatloaf were dry and rubbery. Even kids chicken strips were raw in the Middle and had to go back. Fried lasagna was dark brown, burnt panko is not good. Service was terrific. Just need to get some quality control over what goes out.

My wife and I had dinner at Kalina’s last night for date night , I had the jambalaya it was pretty good, my wife had the scampi and she said it was ok and she’s had better we ordered the calamari for an appetizer it was delicious some of the best we’ve had, but we’re surprise when it came covered with both sauces, would have rather had the sauce on the side. I would have took the calamari home but it got all soggy in the sauce. my wife really couldn’t eat it because the sauce was too spicy for her. We had the tiramizu for dessert and it was out of this world. Service was lacking our waitress was not attentive her mind seemed to be somewhere else, Overall we gave three out of five. we will come back again John & Denise

Drove from Corning and Reno for a great meal. Seated directly next to bathroom, next to service station, with servers going in and out. We sat next to eachother for a more comfortable dinner. Server acknowledged after a few minutes, didn’t bother asking for a drink order for longer than a usual wait. Ordered calamari *great, followed with an order of brussel sprouts. They were under and tasted as if sautéed on a burnt pan. After a longer than usual wait server FINALLY acknowledged us and took an order. I ordered a dessert to begin and filet to follow. Server treated me as if it was the oddest thing to order a dessert before the meal. We did not receive a salad for a longer than usual wait. We had to ask for bread *cold. We received our entrees. My filet was resting on my mashed potatoes. Potatoes covered in blood, looked like pink mashers. Waited again for server who barely touched our table. He took the plate away didn’t apologize, barely acknowledged I was a human being. A woman came to the table asking what was wrong with my steak. I told her the truth, steak was over, tough and I also mentioned service was lacking. We paid for entire meal, the filet barely touched, scampi barely touched and left 20%. We will not be back. We did not feel as if we were welcome or even valued as customers.

Ambiance is Great if you like a very noisy and chaotic atmosphere. Service is very slow. Our waitress blames the kitchen staff for our crappy service-shameful!! Food quality sucks! Even the Caesar salad dressing was crap…tasted like oil and mayonnaise 😂… but little did we know that the rest of the food would taste just like the salad dressing, no flavor. The prime rib that they had on special I ordered it medium rare on the rare side came to the table cut like it was a skinny pie wedge mashed down on the plate to the point you could not even see the potatoes or the asparagus underneath the piece of meat because there was really very little food on the plate and the meat was way overcooked with no seasoning on it !!🤬🤬. Buyer beware the pictures they have on their website look nothing like what they put in front of you while you’re rolling out $45-$50 per plate. It is a total waste of your time unless you’re there just for booze. The owner should be ashamed. I put my way through college waiting tables in Southern California in French restaurants. Unfortunately, I’m not the kind of person or I’m just too old to take pictures of my food to me. That’s rude.

The food was excellent, the best as compared to other restaurants. It was one of the best dinners out we have had in some time. I have no complaints, the only thing we found less than five stars was the crowding and the noise and the hard heavy chairs but a small price to pay for a quality restaurant. They were very busy including some large parties. Our waitress was very pleasant and overall, we had an outstanding dinner out exceeding our expectations. 5/15/2025 Update We had not been to Karline's for some time but decided to go for Mother's Day, actually we went the day before hoping we would avoid the crowd. It was a mistake the restaurant was way overcrowded, and the experience was very unpleasant due to the noise level and the traffic as we were seated in the 'hallway.' I wonder if the fire department is okay with the crowd capacity for exiting if there is a fire. Honestly my experience in restaurants in the U.S. and abroad were never on any occasion as horribly noisy and overcrowded. The waiter covered the basics but clearly had no time to spare to provide quality service, after all the high prices include service, and the ambiance in a restaurant is also what you pay for. We wanted a pleasant easy-going experience but what we got was like being in a sports bar or ringside at an athletic event, it was unbearably loud and obnoxious, and we took some time after leaving to take a deep breath to shake off the chaotic experience, we had to struggle the whole time to hear each other over the noise. Yes, the food was good, with the exception of the lemon cake that alone gets one star, there was no discernable lemon flavor and overall tasteless. Still the only reason we have been there is for the food, but we have been there rarely, each time hoping for a better experience. We gave two stars for the food after subtracting for the unpleasant experience. It is unfortunate to see an owner who would appear to be more intent on the bottom line than providing a manageable pleasant dining experience; private large parties intermingled with dining and a bar crammed into an odd configuration of space is anything but desirable. Since our last visit nothing has changed it has only gotten worse.

For $130 you get amazing bruschetta, terrible drinks for two, the most sour and soggy shrimp scampi, the most sour tiramisu (actually thought it was rotten, but my date assured me it was a preservative), a wonderful server, and romantic atmosphere. The server and atmosphere are top notch, but the food and drinks were garbage for the price we paid. I could not finish my meal.

Yes, they know how to cook a steak properly, and the dipping oil was awesome, but that's where the good ended!!! Spring mix salad that was mostly stems. Alfredo pasta that was bland, lacked Parmigiano cheese flavor at all, ran out of mashed potatoes (an item on their main menu as an entree side), and then served mushy Broccoli as a replacement. The Broccoli had an Ok flavor but mushy and a tiny portion for what was ordered and worth their prices. Our waitress Joysiewas attentive and on top of things until we were ready to leave. She took our bill then went to the table behind us and stood there talking to them for 5 minutes. We finally got up from our table heading to the front as she still had our CC. Another employee said goodbye to us and we said we were waiting for our card and bill. We usually try to tip well, however her last behavior effected what we left. Basically were not sure how this place had such a good rating online when their food isn't worth what they are charging. Olive Garden serves better food. Wish there was something lower then 1 star that we could give this place!!! Our advice, go Somewhere else!!!

Went in for spagetti, vegans and were not told they didn't have red sauce till it was time for the entree. Really? Not going back. And charged us for the appetizer. This could have been fixed at the order. Won't be back.
