Good old Hotdog Charlie's. Small hotdogs with the works can't be beat for comfort food. Their onion rings are great too. I have been going here for years and always love it. Good memories and great hotdogs.

I love healthy food and this doesn’t fit my typical bill but the mini dogs are so tasty and it’s got such a classic vibe. I’m pretty purist and normally just do ketchup but I do envy my husband’s chili sauce. We try to stop wherever we’re back in the area. I wish I could export or franchise a store:) I’m certain this is one of the reasons my husband is OK visiting my family.

My first experience with Albany mini dogs and they're excellent. Some of the snappiest, tastiest dogs I've ever had. Cheese fries made a great side. Highly recommend.

Bacon cheese fries were so damn good. My chilli cheese hotdogs were really good as well. Kind of pricey. However quality will always come at a price. But this place made my food faster than I could get my wallet back in my pocket 🤣. Awesome 👏🏽 establishment.

I had the pleasure of dining at Hot Dog Charlie’s recently while traveling to the Albany area. I ordered small dogs with “the works” which includes a delicious chili sauce, and mustard and onions. My father in law used to live in the Albany area and is obsessed with Hot Dog Charlie’s. When I sent him pictures of the hot dogs with toppings, he told me he was jealous and “now you’ve lived,” which, if you’ve met my father in law, you would know is high praise. They also sell chili sauce by the jar which you can put on your own wieners. It’s much better than the bland, processed stuff that is sold at the grocery store. Their sauce is also sold online for the out-of-town ers like myself so I can always enjoy the bold flavor of Hot Dog Charlie’s without having to drive for several hours.

We visited this restaurant because we were told that these mini hot dogs are a cultural food of Albany. They were tasty and good though probably not something I would want to eat everyday. Service was excellent. Nice seating area.

Food was excellent, hardly any wait time. Parking lot is dirt so after it rains it can be a bit muddy in spots, but that’s the only negative thing I could think of. Best hot dogs around for that price for sure.

As an out of stater, these hot dogs are amazing! Get the full ones with "the works" should have asked for extra saurkraut and put some ketchup on those babies mmmmhmmmm <3. My boyfriend got bacon fries and they even gave us two forks for the fries! How cute! (Forgot to get a picture of it because hubby let me try his fries). They were super good!!! Oh my god, I could go for another hot dog right nowwww ughhh! I will be back! Thank you ladies!

Why 4 stars? Because I love Grey's Papaya, and this is as close as it gets, except with just Pepsi. Their secret chili sauce (which you can buy) on top of their adorable 'mini's (bigger than a cocktail weiner, but not by much) -- I see people doing up 4,6,8 of those. The house-made rice pudding? Oh yes, you;ll want to take that home (if it gets that far). No ambiance, just hot dogs. What more does hot dog need?

They have good hot dogs with their special sauce. Prices are good in the restaurant usually nice and clean and good service.

Always a good option for a quick bite. The sauce and toppings are always great. However I feel the dogs themselves have dropped in quality since they no longer have hembolds jot dogs. The hot dogs skins seem to be particularly stiffer.

There is not much to say about Hot Dog Charlie's that hasn't already. The place will have its 100 year Anniversary of opening its doors come 2022. It's a local cuisine of little Dogs and topped with their meat and onions sauce. Also the usual burgers and fries as well. Everyone has to have a order of 4 Dogs with and a chocolate milk.

Needs update, but good service and good fish fry. Almost always fresh fish, nice Dawgs and love the hot sauce. i am still visiting and just wanted to say the 2 guys who are always there and truly nice and i want to say that, and thanks .

It's always good. Great meat sauce. Most people get them loaded but I'm more of a meat sauce guy. I usually get 4 small dogs for lunch. I don't make a habit of it but every 3 to 4 weeks I stop by. They have many foods, such as , fish fry, burgers, french fries, and more including shake's.

I came here because the mini hot dogs were featured on a snapchat show as really good and unique. They're definitely cool and unusual, but I personally found that they missed something. Maybe a bit underdone or something. The chili was great however, and so was the clam roll

It's been 4 years since I last visited HDC's (moved away), and my return trip was a bit disappointing. The hotdogs had not been turned on the grill so they were overdone/hard on one side. The meat topping, mustard and onions were delicious. Bacon cheesie fries were a yummy/greasy/salty bowl of fried goodness. Not a healthy meal, but was worth the stop.

Not my thing. It was my first time and I ordered a cheeseburger. He asked what I'd like on it, and confused I said lettuce and tomato. He said no and asked about ketchup. I thought the no was a joke and said sure to the ketchup. My burger came out with onions and ketchup- no lettuce or tomato. I guess they have a method that doesn't include the most basic of toppings being available?

Overall was a ok place the mini dogs are pork and the beef dogs are plane the Chilli taste burnt I've been there different time now and both times I have had the same experience. The fries are hot and crisp.

The hot dog was okay, nothing spiffy. The bun was fresh. The staff were very unwelcoming. I wasn't sure if the body language was, you dont belong here, or I hate my job either way, I dont think I'll return. The store itself was untidy.

We got a bunch of hit dogs. Mine were with chili, cheese, ketchup, mustard, onions, and relish. The hot dogs were good, but the chilli wasn't really flavorful and the relish overpowered the other flavors. The cheese fries were good though.

Less than impressed with this local favorite. May have been around awhile but the magic is clearly gone. Hot dogs were underwhelming, and staff appeared to loathe the fact that they worked there. You were depressed before the food even showed up.

My husband loves hot dogs so for an 80th birthday (last Aug)surprise party my NJ nephew brought him an online purchased $25 gift card. My husband had 3 hospitalizations past yr so the gift card was never used. Grandson drove him to get lunch using the gift card. When presented we were told there was NO $ on the gift card. So my NJ nephew printed a gift card, with a redemption code that was never used and $ disappeared ? That was disappointing however the hotdogs themselves were mediocre, fries no nearly as good as 5 guys, place itself not great. Definitely not with the drive from Latham.

I went in and got an order to go and as i was watching them make them, i had to cringe. They were very short on the " works.". On some it didnt even cover the hot dogs. I do not recommend this location at all.

I ordered 2 cheeseburgers with american cheese ketchup mustard and fried onions to go. When i reached my destination i ate the one cheeseburger but the 2nd Cheeseburger was just american cheese on the burger with ketchup mustard and fried onions only. I didnt know i had to specify i wanted a bun also

The food is good but the people that deal with customers have no clue how to treat customers. If the owners read this, try greeting your customers when they walk in and want to order something. Maybe look up from your important work and say. " Hello, we will be with you in a minute". Better yet, try. " Thanks for coming in can I take your order.". Just try it maybe your business will increase.

Walk in first time to this shop .. had high hopes , was greeted with evil looks and the man at the counter to busy making his own food to look up and be friendly.. stood for bout 3 mins and left . Do better employees.. making your spot suck ..
