Opinions de Gigi Trattoria Rhinebeck
I live in town and have enjoyed the pasta's , fish, and flatbread pizza's for 20 years. I finally tried their burger. The BEST in town.
I had an amazing dinner. Started off with one of their signature cocktails, the Black Cosmopolitan, this is by far my favorite cocktail ever! For dinner I started with the Kibbeh, croquettes over greens with the perfect mix of Mediterranean flavors. I chose their Skizza special, their take on a very, very thin pizza. The dough was cooked to perfection, slightly browned edges and crisp. The toppings were Melted leeks, crispy bacon, mushrooms, mozzarella,Fontina, and fresh herbs. It was simply delicious. I would highly recommend stopping in when you are in Rhinebeck.
Paulo was an excellent waiter. Burger was awesome!
Great outside venue for ultra thin crust pizza (skizza) and other Italian fare. Superb service, convenient location in upscale Rhinebeck. Try the arugula and parmesean salad, it's excellent.
Took a nice drive north along rt 9. Stopped along all the Historic Sites.. Ended the day at Gigi Trattoria in Rhinebeck. Orderd some variation of a simple grilled chicken salad. So good, I ordered a 2nd as a takeout.. Doggy bag. Menu has nice listing of light food. Would like to visit their Farm fresh servings on weekends.
Wow! We wound up here by mistake for lunch but glad we did! Great place, super service, super clean and good food. My chicken sandwich was sooooo good! Looking forward to getting there again!
Terrific food and service is great. Love the lobster ravioli and calamari.
Ministrone soup was very good. Service is fast at the bar & their trademark Skizzas are TO DIE FOR! Pictured is the Rustica Skizza. Residents that eat here often wait to call in to go orders for Skizza until they are in the parking lot because of how fast they are cooked in the woodfire oven and try to get them home piping hot. You will not regret eating here at all, in my opinion!
Had apps, dinner, and dessert at the bar on 11/09/24. Dinner, drinks, dessert and service was top shelf
Best flat bread in the world!Try Bianca....you will be addicted to it ! Kelly at the bar tending you the best of the best!We were blessed to have the happy hour with the best Msnhattan and Dirty Martini ever!
Was there on July 3, 2022 with the love of my life, it was nothing but awesome, the wait staff, just the atmosphere wonderful, the salmon, was cooked perfect for my taste, the ice tea was nice and strong how I like it, just really good place, and I will come back to this place again!
reliably excellent northern italian. usually crowded, noisy and as close to "a scene" as one can get in the hudson valley. great thin crust pizza, nice outdoor dining area.
Fantastic food, wonderful wine list, amazing staff. Highly recommend! Can't go wrong with any of their pasta dishes.
We had a wonderful meal and the service was impeccable, though there was one waitress who has a voice that was like a dog whistle. I don't think she's there anymore which will actually make our next experience all the better.
The best place to eat ever! The food and drinks are amazing and extremely original. The staff and owner are so kind and attentive. Highly recommend
I love this place so much! Their skizzas are my favorite, but everything I've ever ordered here has been delicious.
Highly recommend. Great food, GF options, pretty outdoor dining. While visiting we went twice. I would recommend the bolognese. Our servers Chaya and Jessica were friendly and attentive. Would go again.
We recently had an unforgettable 80th birthday celebration for my Mom at Gigi's, and it exceeded all expectations! If you're in search of the perfect venue with a private dining room in Rhinebeck, Gigi's is the ultimate choice. Our experience began with the incredibly helpful owner Laura, who made setting up the event a breeze. She presented us with a multitude of options for our private dining menu, ensuring everything was tailored to our preferences. The planning phase was exceptionally smooth, thanks to her guidance. Upon our arrival, we were immediately struck by the splendid ambiance of the private dining room. Holly, our dedicated waitstaff, deserves special mention for her outstanding service. She anticipated our needs flawlessly, ensuring that we never had to ask for anything. Her attentiveness added a layer of comfort to the entire experience. Now, let's talk about the food and drinks – an integral part of any celebration. Gigi's delivered on all fronts. Their cocktails, including the Negroni, Martinis, and Mojitos, were expertly crafted and served chilled to perfection. The charcuterie board, featuring an array of meats, cheeses, and grilled veggies, was a delightful start to the evening. And, of course, the Tuscan fries with their delectable dipping sauces were a crowd-pleaser. We followed with an arugula salad that was both fresh and flavorful. The highlight of the evening was the main course – Tagliatelle Bolognese, a personal favorite of our Mom's. It was nothing short of culinary perfection, leaving us all savoring every bite. If you're looking to create lasting memories during a special dinner event, Gigi's is the place to be. Our birthday celebration couldn't have been more perfect. From the impeccable service to the delectable cuisine, Gigi's truly exceeded our expectations. This was an experience we'll cherish for years to come. Thank you, Gigi's, for making this celebration a truly remarkable one!
Love this place! Always consistently great food, and the service is quick and accommodating. The gluten free choices are actually delicious, not the lesser version of a better dish! We've taken friends there who have enjoyed it as well.
Best pasta bolognese I’ve ever had. Lovely staff and quick service. The fries are a must have!
While I was visiting my family, I stopped in to get a taste of Gigi's. I have had their food many times before and without question it was as good as ever. We started with the Bianca skizza, it was so good my mouth waters thinking about it. Then I had the Tagliatelle which is my staple for when I stop in and my girlfriend had the Barina with Salmon added. This was her first time in NY and of all the places we visited she ranked Gigi's number 1. Everything was cooked to perfection. One of my favorite parts though was the Saki Rita! These are the best drinks especially for a hot summer day. Looking forward to the next time we are in NY.
My husband and I have been coming to Gigi's for over a year in summer and now, in fall. Though we have gone to the other restaurants in Rhinebeck, Gigi's is the one we consistently return to because we love it THAT much. The food is wonderful, flavorful and perfectly seasoned! More importantly, my specific dietary issues (e.g. lactose intolerance) are always accommodated. Finally, I can have a Skizza that is gluten-free AND has vegan cheese! Woohoo! Laura Pensiero regularly updates her menu for seasonal specials (including vegan options) that are delicious. She and her staff are wonderful! We always feel very much welcomed here and view Gigi's as our dining home away from home. It is a wonderful restaurant - a real treasure- that should be enjoyed and appreciated! Thank you, Laura and Team!
Best fried calamari I've ever had. The 3 pepper north African dipping sauce had me searching for recipes as soon as I got home. My friend and I were in a bit of a rush and they were very accommodating to our time crunch. Can't wait to go back.
I really appreciate Gigi's because it always feels so friendly and the menu has something for everyone. The staff genuinely make you welcomed. The food is outstanding and usually locally sourced which provides genuine fresh flavors. Seasonally, the outdoor dining is such a treat.
Let me be the first to commend Laura Pensiero, Owner, and Chef Colby Miller on the truly wonderful menu that is currently being offered at Gigi Trattoria. Their commitment to providing customers with top quality, locally-sourced food options is second to none! If you haven't been there recently, come on down! Great food, great people and wonderful atmosphere.
The menu and wine list here are just fantastic, yet the restaurant is still very casual and the prices are reasonable. Vegans should go for the cauliflower steak, with quinoa, kale, and olives. Pizzas are interesting and tasty, and you must get the herbed fries.
Love, love this gem. I can't stop raving about Gigi's. From the minute we walked through the door the service was on point from the host, to the server even the bartender. I haven't even started about the food. Must taste for your self especially the homemade pasta.
One of the better dining options in Rhinebeck, especially if you're looking for good local food. If I had to choose between the two neighboring restaurants (Terrapin and Gigi), Gigi will be my choice 9 times out of 10. The prices are a little steep, but the food is great, and the service is very good.
Service was wonderful and staff was nice and welcoming. They explained the menu well. Large variety of menu that would appeal to any foodie. Skizza was delicious, sandwiches were delicious. I would definitely come back.
The is my second time having dinner at Gigi. My group loved our drinks, our appetizer, mains, and the desserts. Our server had excellent suggestions. One of our party left her food and the hostess came out to give it to her. I will definitely eat there again, hopefully sooner than later. Highly recommend the lobster ravioli and the key lime parfait. Whatever is in the Gambas al Ajillo sauce is incredible!
What a wonderful experience - the food was very good and above all, interesting - good flavor/spices/preparation - we are vegan and there were a few nice options. Jean-Luc was our server, who was absolutely charming and made it a truly memorable experience. We look forward to coming back.
A staple restaurant in Rhinebeck, I love this place because they are not afraid of flavor. Lots of garlic and herbs. mediterranean/Spanish inspired food, I love the gambas and the sauce it comes in! Laura, the owner creates a beautiful menu. Kelly, the bartender creates simple yet thoughtful cocktails. The menu changes seasonally. A do not miss for lunch or dinner!
My favorite spot in Rhinebeck! The food is consistently great, many menu choices, lovely atmosphere ( I often eat at the cozy bar). The owner & staff do everything to make your experience special. Love Gigi’s! Ann
Kind and prompt service at Gigi. I had a burrata and a mocktail for a light lunch and it was all very tasty and fresh. My friend got the burger and said it was delicious!
Food was good. Salads were huge but dressing was better on side salads than main salads. We were served a charcuterie board by accident. Turned it away immediately, but it was brought back and comped. There were both bees and flies outdoors that had us a bit distracted.
Gigi is a great place for indoor or outdoor dining. The staff are always friendly and helpful with the menu. I’m a big fan of the rigatoni buttera, Tuscan fries (amazing deep fried rosemary), skizza Bianca, and Gigi burger. Nice wine list and great saki margaritas. Stop in and enjoy a great lunch or dinner.
Delicious appetizer (burratta) and red lentil soup. I ordered a burger and it was cooked perfectly and also delicious. Our waiter, Tim, was outstanding. Very attentive without being at all intrusive, and was knowledgeable about the food, beer and wine choices.
The staff were very accommodating and helpful with putting together our tables socially distant seating and being helpful to add a space for one of our wheelchair-bound friends. The food was excellent. Serving sizes were very large, I took home quite a bit of my lunch for a snack later. Our server was very attentive to what we needed. A very pleasant young man. I would say if you're in that neighborhood be sure to stop in for a meal!
I went to Gigi’s for the first time yesterday. We did not have a reservation, but the owner graciously found us a place on a busy Saturday night. The young people in our group wanted “Italian.” Frankly, I was expecting pizza. I think the menu had that option, but I was taken with the variety on the menu. There were several appetizers, entrees, etc., but just the right amount, i.e., not overwhelming like some places can be. I chose the pork medallions, with a vegetable ragu on a bed of mashed potatoes with green beans on the side. I am a girl of the south and appreciate a good green bean. I find most restaurants treat them as a throwaway. However, these may have been the best I’ve ever had. Just the right texture and seasoning. The pork dish was amazing. I wish I had better skills to describe it. All i can really say is to try it. You will not be disappointed and may be amazed as I was.
Food was flavorful beyond expectations. Wonderful fare. Onion soup is the best we have ever had (and we've traveled globally). Lobster ravioli was phenomenal. We'll make this place a must visit on each trip through the area. We'll even go out of our way a bit to eat here!
Both the food and the service at Gigi were phenomenal. We were out for a late night bite in Rhinebeck on a Sunday evening in January and came upon Gigi. It was a slow evening for the town in general and Gigi was pretty empty when we arrived. We had concerns because of that, but those were quickly put to rest. The server had great knowledge about the menu and helped us make great selections. The cocktails were exquisite! The food was quite a delectable experience. We shared multiple appetizers, each had a main and shared several sides and everything was very good. We were quite impressed. Additionally, they had multiple vegan options that did not feel like after thoughts. I truly enjoyed my vegan pizza and one of my colleagues ordered a vegan pasta dish that was very good as well. The entire table was quite satisfied. Highly recommend.
Fantastic food with a relaxed but classy atmosphere. Menu changes seasonally but strives to use local ingredients. Great cocktails and try the skizza bianca!
Had an incredible dinner at Gigi's while we were on a mini vacation from New York City visiting Rhinecliff. Some of the best food I've had in a LONG time!! We will definitely will be visiting here again and would highly recommend it to anyone!!
Delicious food. Always a favorite location to get together with local friends and share appetizers and different entrees. They always have great seasonal specials. The French onion soup is one of the best I've ever had anywhere.
My mother and I came here for an early dinner on a Thursday. They were out of the mussels, but my salmon was fantastic. The creamy lemon sauce was amazing, and the sauce for my mother's lobster ravioli was equally impressive. The vegetables were cooked perfectly. Our server was very nice as well. A place worth returning to!
Returned to Gigi a few months ago after a long time. Food and service are excellent. I had weekend lunches there four times in the past couple of months with family and friends. Every dish was very good. The sauteed chicken livers are great. Please make it a regular menu item. Other standouts: the calamari--fresh, not out of a frozen bag, the Mama skizza with proscuitto, lasagna, the eggs on arepas Sunday brunch special, the sandwich Cubano and the tomato, lettuce and lox sandwich. Even a burger my wife ordered. And she's not easy to please. Very professional service from Paolo (?) and Kim (?). A lot of good restaurant choices in Rhinebeck. Gigi is among the best.
If you haven’t eaten at Gigis in rhinebeck I highly recommend it. They have such a great menu and straight off the menu anyone with any dietary restrictions can find something delicious to eat. I’ve been there only once before and loved it then but I really appreciated the menu even more tonight. Such great options.
Great veal dish. Nice wine pours. And interesting wine offerings. Our server was very attentive and timely. Wish ambience was a little more comfortable.
Loved this restaurant! We had a lovely round of drinks from their fun menu; sake margarita and a black cosmo? The service was good, our server started strong and did get slower as our meal went on but the restaurant also got busy so it made sense. Luckily they had busboys helping out. All the meals we had were delicious, specifically the burrata appetizer. We also had the most delicious sweet potato cheesecake for dessert, it might be seasonal though so go in now! Also our chocolate martinis were to die for, props to the bartender. It was a bit pricey but had a lovely chic and fancy vibe. My whole party really enjoyed our dinner here, highly recommend a visit!
Best burger I’ve ever had honestly, tons of gluten free options and the staff was really friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely be back for another meal soon.
We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at Gigi Trattoria. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff was attentive without ever feeling rushed. The food was outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Every dish we ordered was cooked to perfection and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. The portions were generous, and the presentation made everything feel special. What really stood out was the balance of flavors and the way the menu combined traditional Italian roots with a creative touch. It’s rare to find a place where every course feels memorable, but Gigi Trattoria truly delivered. We left feeling not only full but genuinely happy with the experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an excellent meal in a welcoming setting. We will definitely be coming back!
We have been dining at Gigi Trattoria for 10 years whenever we are in the Catskills. It used to be just my partner and I but our kids now enjoy it too. Great food, super friendly staff, lovely ambiance. Looking forward to our next visit!
The Bianca Skizza is my favorite, such incredible flavor, and love the fact that gluten free is an option. Very cool vibe to the restaurant, great music. The manager Jean Luc is a sweetheart. Service was great, everyone is super friendly and genuine. Kelly can whip up an amazing cocktail, she never disappoints everytime I come.
Meatballs were spot on - be sure to get some extra bread to sop up the sauce! Burrata is delicious and tagliatelle was perfect texture. Very cute place and tasty Spanish wine. Definitely recommend the Bianca pizza, super thin but not overdone, the pears were perfectly sliced nice and thin and not a dry spot on the pizza.
Visited Rhinebeck for a day and stopped in for a late lunch after the brunch crowd had left. Lovely surroundings for a quiet meal. Service was excellent. Loved the spicy sauce that went with the calamari. The summer curried squash soup was refreshing. We also had shrimp gambas and sauteed kale. Made for a lovely afternoon of tapas.
We really enjoyed our lunch there as the food was delicious. I loved my salad and the dressing was perfectly done. The added salmon done just right. The pasta dish which was Rigatoni Buttera was exceptional. Lastly, the Pizza Margherita was one of the thinnest crust ever and spiced just right. Outdoor dining and great service. Will come back!
I'm not in Rhinebeck that often, but when I am, I always try to have lunch here. Great selection of light food. Do split the rosemary fries with someone. Life altering. Service can be a bit distracted.
Best restaurant in Hudson Valley? One of them for sure. Amazing local menu and Med flare from fish to spaghetti and special pizzas I love this place.
Fun bistro. Casual, with interesting menu and friendly service.
Not as good as first time at which the Tagliatelle Bolognese was 100% and there was no room for improvement. This time I tried the Lasagna Bolognese. It was not hot enough with an overly sweet sauce and some parts were quite salty. Overall it was still good. Unfortunately the Tagliatelle had set my expectations to 100%, so I left a little disappointed but still recommend the place in general.
if you haven't been to Gigi's 2.0 you should go. Yummy, great new ambiance, same great value. They have really stepped things into a nice direction that will help them stand out in Rhinebeck's competitive culinary environment. If you already love them, you will still love them. If you have been disappointed in the past, try again and you will likely be pleasantly surprised.
Gigi's has been my go-to place after a movie at Upstate Films for years. I am addicted to their skizzas and always enjoy their fresh, seasonal salads. Service is friendly and efficient, cocktails to my liking and wine selection well suited to the Mediterranean menu. A durable neighborhood spot.
The gnocchi was top notch with just enough pesto... The shrimp were cooked just right in the gambas appetizer! The sauce was delicious, it should be bottled. The today points were yummy as well.
The food was very good and service the waiter's I felt were a bit pushy, rushed, hovering waiting for me to decide so just had to say, come back in a minute. Then we weren't even finished eating and they were trying to clear our plates. Once the bill was put on the table they didn't bother clearing the dishes. Anyway perhaps new staff and I have too high expectations. Overall was good and would recommend going.
I enjoyed my meal. In particular the flatbread. The salad was good, but the vegetables were a bit dry. The outside seating area is very nice. Inside out can get dark and when I asked to be sat somewhere bright, they refused to stay me at a larger table even though they were completely empty and by the time I left nobody had sat in them. Other than that the staff was attentive, though not particularly friendly. Most of them didn't even respond to greetings, and again, it was a slow time of day.
The best way for me to explain my Gigi’s lunch experience is come for the food, not necessarily the service. My wife had a good first time at Gigi’s and wanted me to try it. The host who seated us didn’t seem very interested in helping us. In fact, we walked by him because he didn’t engage us initially to gauge whether we were eating there. He did seat us outside as requested, but wasn’t very vocal or friendly. Our waiter was great. He was a little slow at providing us the basics like water but we noted it wasn’t due to lack of effort as much as he was helping with tables with many people throughout the outside dining area. However, once we mentioned to him we needed help with those items, he was very proactive about helping. He was very friendly. I ordered the shrimp empanadas for appetizer and tagliatelle bolognese for entrée. The appetizers came quickly but our entrées came after a while. Likely, this was due to what I ordered but I did note individuals that came after us got their food faster than we did. I will say, though, the food here blew me away! The shrimp empanadas were extraordinary! The tagliatelle was perfect and scrumptious! Price-wise, cooked entrées are pricey, but you get what you pay for — exceptional quality. Other items, such as sandwiches, are reasonable for the quality. I typically appreciate the phrase: “Good things come to those who wait.” Great things come from this kitchen. The service on our visit was just a little off.
Use to be great ..... over the top great . Now it just feels very average . Staff use to be young , bright , hip college students in black uniforms . Now just an assorted team who can barely converse with customers . Food was always innovative but after a dozen years , most remains unchanged . There are many more options in town . Try another .
The food is good, but a bit overpriced. The people sitting at the bar right behind us were so loud it was hard to hear ourselves. Wished we sat outside as a result.
First, I’d like to say that most times I have enjoyed dinner here with my husband. But unfortunately last weekend I was very disappointed, and I think the problem was not enough servers and help. I had booked well in advance a party of 8 for a birthday dinner. I feared from the moment we sat down that things would not go well. The food was not the problem. Five of us had finished our entrees while 3 of my guests still hadn’t been served theirs. I was afraid to order dessert for the birthday celebration portion! I am sure our server was overwhelmed with too many tables. I strongly suggest not to do dinner with more than 3 people , and even then be prepared for sharing your server with many other tables. It will be a while before I return.
Never met a more solid 3 star experience in my life. The food was exactly the described ingredients, but tasted very bland. The staff was kind but rushed us the entire time. The atmosphere does not fit with the rest of Rhinebeck. Pick a cuter place to eat.
The food is very good, as was my drink, but our experience here was honestly very unpleasant. I felt uncomfortable with being shafted into a corner and ignored for twenty minutes. We were not given menus or water for that long after being seated, after being treated rudely to start with, to the point that we were actively discussing what other restaurant to leave and have dinner at when we were finally served. Our waiter was not the issue; I think he believed the manager had taken our order when in fact we were never given a menu. All in all, the great food is not enough to ever make me want to return after being quite obviously passed over for wealthier patrons.
It's...fine. But not for the price. We managed to spend $165 before tip for three people. We had only one glass of wine. Had the salad wedge appetizer, which was, again, fine. But the usual, gotta say, "upstate dressing bath," in which restaurants drench salads in silly amounts of dressing. Steak Frites was quite good. Just not NYC prices good. Would we go back? Hmmm... Maybe. The staff was lovely, the vibe/atmosphere is nice enough. We might venture to Kingston for a more distinctive dining experience if we're looking to spend this kinda bank.
Friendly host welcomed us into the restaurant and then it went down from there. We sat towards the back of the restaurant and it was nice and quiet. The waitress was quick to take our order and once it was served, we were forgotten. They offered to fill our water when we asked for the check. The Il Guardino flatbread pizza was not flavorful at all. My husband loved his Gigi Burger. All in all for the menu prices and service, I’d fine another place to dine.
We met my son and daughter in law on a Friday night around 6:30. The place was busy, but we were seated right away. Our server came over quickly and started us on drinks and gave us menus and a list of specials. We did feel a bit rushed with ordering appetizers and our mains. We got burrata and calamari, which were both subpar. Dinners were a pasta, a half chicken and 2 skizzas. Food was just ok, with one skizza being cold. Desserts were very small- we ordered tiramisu and flourless chocolate cake to share. Tiramisu very disappointing. Overall, good service and drinks, but mediocre food for price.
Service was really bad. Very disorganized no one came over to ask us how her food was doing had to ask three times to bring stuff over to the table. I would rate the food about a seven. If the food wasn’t slightly better than mediocre I would give it a one star However the service really turned me off. If I manage this restaurant I would have a team meeting and Review service protocols.
So sad to say that the food was way off. My favorite dish there is Rigatoni Buttera and it was a disappoint the calamari was also not cooked well. The ceasar salad was dry and missing dressing. It really is sad that it has come to this.
Service was slow, food was nothing special and it's far too expensive for what you get. Not worth it. Two thumbs down.
've been coming to Gigi's for years now and it has always been great. Recently I went back and I found everything about the restaurant different. Their "renovation" was not just the decor...First and foremost Gigi's upped their prices by about 60-70%. They also took of many of the favorite selections on the menu. What a bummer! The service is distracted and not very attentive. Our waiter forgot our waters and bread, and then forgot to omit the goat cheese that I specifically told him I did not want on my pizza. He did not even ask if we needed anything else or how we enjoyed our food. Lastly, I had a reservation but still waited 15 minutes to be seated. Poor management on Gigi's part. Overall after my last two visits I will not be dining here for some time. Food is tasty but not worth what we got.
The food was flavorless, the service was spotty (we had to get up & find a waiter a few times when we wanted something) the atmosphere was non-existent, just a table on the sidewalk with no tablecloth. For $150 for two people, you would think they would supply salad forks as well as forks for the entrees! A disappointment. I am here for the summer & will not be going back
Food here is not very good for the prices. My wife ordered the fruitti di mare and it did have a few pieces of seafood but the dressing was gloppy and sour. I ordered the goat cheese and fig jam pizza and it was essentially cold. Wine was decent and the service was fine. Not planning to go back.
Had the chicken. Horrible! Totally without taste.Raw inside. Said it came with roasted cauliflower. There were 3 pieces on my plate the size of my thumb nail. Was looking forward to Sicilian food. I've had better chicken in a diner. $34 for a piece of chicken? Nice atmosphere but would never go back. Maybe pizza are ok, but there are better, cheaper pizza joints all over
Food was terrible and SO EXPENSIVE??? I got the Cesar salad with shrimp and it was $40 somehow and tasted like it was from a gas station. The shrimp was also over cooked and barley chewable. I was so unsatisfied with my meal but didn't say anything because the waiter seemed to be pretty stressed out with my very easy yet large group. Would not recommend.
The service was ok. The food was ill-prepared: 1. My skizza had ingredients other than as set forth in the menu, including a vegetable to which I am allergic. 2. The replacement skizza was not hot. 3. All our salads were either under-dressed or undressed. When they brought out additional dressing at our request, it was not the flavor we had requested.
Harvest gnocchi had a random mix of vegetables that did not go together, shiitake mushrooms, peas, possibly a carrot and roasted bell pepper. Gnocchi’s were tough and lacking in salt. The “margarita pizza” was a cheese pizza with barely any basil (no tomato) and bland. The lamb skewers were good. The shrimp was cooked well and had a good flavor but still lacking in salt. The gigantes beans were cooked nicely and were very flavorful just lacking salt. The lasagna bolognese was great with a flavorful sauce which i really enjoyed! Overall the food was undersalted.
My wife likes this place for there skizzas I also think they are very good as well, upon this visit we ordered calamari artichoke and empanadas, the calamari was very greasy that I could not eat any more then one piece, the artichoke is good but when I went to try my empanada it had a hair on it so I did not get to try it, the Mgr came up to me and apologize and took it off the check which was good , then came the gigi burger was ok meat was dry bun was slightly stale and the burger was flavorless. I was looking for a juicy burger my wife had the Bianca and she loved it I had a slice as well and have to say it was very good as well had good flavor to it and was fresh 😀, overall the food was ok but I've had better cheaper burgers elsewhere.
It was a family dinner of four adults and three children on Sunday evening. Child's menu pasta with red sauce was spicy, grilled chicken was uncooked so sent it back but it never came back and it was still on the bill. Well done hamburger was medium, sent it back for well done, it came back medium well by just pressing entire humberger with bun on it on the grill (could see grill marks on the bun). I asked to just remove from the bill. Horrible service and workers' attitude. I would not reccommend to anyone. If I could I would not even put a star on my review.
I have to say, I am extremely disappointed. Came here on a quiet Tuesday night at 7:30 pm and no one was here. This didn’t matter much, as I was looking forward to trying this place out having heard about it in the past. We ordered the lamb skewers and falafel. Both appetizers were not as enjoyable as we didn’t even finish the lamb. We ordered the il giardina pizza to split and I had ordered a French onion soup for myself. The soup was enjoyable, but the pizza was terrible. It came out cold and the vegetables on the pizza were undercooked. Pizza is not a word to use to describe the dish. It was a disgrace to call that a pizza. We had informed the server to hopefully swap it out for something to enjoy, but as he handed us the menu he said “I can give you the menu but the kitchen is closed because we’re slow”. Never even bothered to give us a 10 minute warning or check on the food to make sure it’s ok before they decide to close the kitchen. Even after we had informed the server that the pizza wasn’t good and cold, he argued with us that it had just come out of the oven. The pizza wasn’t even remotely warm and the cheese was hard and cold. There was no way it just came out. But, even giving him this information he had made us feel like it was just too bad for us cause they decided to close the kitchen. But, of course they still made sure to pour some beers for the end of the shift drinks. The whole time the employees sat on their phones at the bar making it feel awkward to be the only people in the restaurant. Although I usually like to give places more than 1 chance, I had driven 35 minutes to have an enjoyable dinner at this establishment to be disappointed. I would not be willing to do that again as I have little faith it wouldnt be any better.
Awful food and service. A reminder of why not to go out on NYE. Lamb served raw. Waiters resetting tables and closing up for the night while we are sitting at table with dirty dishes in front of us. What a disaster.
Extremely disappointed in the treatment my husband and I received here. We are returning customers and big fans of the pizzas on the menu. However we recently went on a walk with our two dogs, me being nine months pregnant and due at anytime thought it would be nice to stop, rest, and have lunch at Gigi’s I requested from whom I can only imagine is he owner to be seated at one of the corner round tables on the patio. My husband and I have sat at these tables multiple times with our dogs. They aren’t the best tables due to being partially in the sun but we are able to have enough room for our two medium dogs to lay comfortably under the table and out from under passing by customers or waiters feet. I also myself like the extra little room being in that I’m at the end of my pregnancy and quiet uncomfortable. The elderly man denied my request and told me those tables were for three or more people. Didn’t offer any other table as an option. Just stood there. I was not only surprised and I was insulted that both corner tables were open and he was unwilling to make an exception. I responded “oh?!? Ok”. Then he just walked away. I was not only upset at his attitude and total disregard for us as returning/paying customers but I was also hurt by his total lack of consideration and his overflowing mount of arrogance. He made it very clear he doesn’t need nor want our money. I refused allow anyone on any high horse to make me feel beneath them. We’ve had good experience here before the waiters have always been accommodating and kind. It is due to this mans actions alone that my husband and growing family will no longer be customers at GiGi’s.
Truly disappointed, grabbed two salads here today, and for $55 what a rip off. For starts the Barbina salad had maybe five slices of beats in it, dryer than dry, I basically got a bowl of greens, a pinch of nuts and about a pinch of goat cheese, added chicken for $11 the quantity of half a breast and dried out beyond. This place used to make a great salad, I will never order salads here again and now I’m reluctant to believe anything else is still good. Also ordered a rughetta salad…just as horrible, a bowl of dry greens with half a breast of dried chicken. I should have ordered sushi for $55. Topped with no plastic ware in the bag…so much for eating on the go.
