Our server was Donovan & he was an absolute delight. We were celebrating a birthday & Maggiano's was the chosen venue. Drinks started with an Espresso Martini, Lemon Drops & a Citrus Mule. Our appetizers were the Maggiano salad, Caesar salad, Fried mozzarella & calamari. Entrees were chicken piccata, fettuccine alfredo with shrimp, spaghetti with meatballs. Everything we ate was delicious. Other than requesting a little more sauce for a few items we had no issues or complaints. At the end of our meal we were presented with 2 celebratory birthday desserts. I believe they were lemon flavored Italian cookies. The ambiance was nice as it was quiet & dimly lit. Perfect for a nice evening.

Maggiano’s Delivered Exceptional Value and Execution. The team at Maggiano’s ran a tight operation tonight. Our entrées were on point across the board rich ravioli, a clean and flavorful linguine with clams, and a shrimp pasta that was executed with precision. Portions were generous, seasoning was balanced, and everything arrived hot and well-timed. Service stayed proactive without hovering, and the overall experience hit the mark for consistency, comfort, and quality. Strongly recommended for anyone who wants dependable Italian with real hospitality discipline.

Dined on 6/6/2025 for an anniversary dinner. Wonderful experience. The atmosphere was great. Food was great. Drinks were fancy looking and delicious. They even brought us complimentary flutes of what I believe was Moscato and a plate of lemon cookies that were so soft and sweet, dipped in a delicious creamy icing. Will definitely be going here again.

Celebrated our 5 year anniversary today. Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food, and fantastic service. A shoutout to our server, Melissa. She was so kind, thoughtful, friendly, and an overall delight to have around. She truly helped make the night special and memorable. Im not sure what you pay her, but she deserves all the raises. She is a gem! 😀

**A Perfect Spot to Celebrate Milestones – Maggiano’s Little Italy** I had the pleasure of visiting Maggiano’s Little Italy for lunch yesterday to celebrate my 15th anniversary, and it was an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, the service exceeded all expectations—our waitress, JJ, anticipated every need, leaving us truly wanting for nothing. Her thoughtfulness added a warm touch to our special day. The atmosphere struck the perfect balance between sophisticated and relaxed. We opted for the quieter dining side, which allowed us to reflect on 15 wonderful years together. For a more casual vibe, there’s also a bar area, making this a versatile venue depending on your mood or occasion. As for the food—simply excellent. I ordered the stuffed shells with Wagyu beef, and they did not disappoint. The beef was tender, complemented by a rich tomato-based sauce and a delightful mix of whipped ricotta and spinach that tied the flavors together beautifully. My wife enjoyed the chicken Alfredo fettuccine, featuring a creamy and indulgent Alfredo sauce and chicken breast that was melt-in-your-mouth tender—it was so impressive that I’ve been inspired to up my own game in the kitchen. One delightful surprise was how Maggiano’s went the extra mile for our anniversary. While I believe they tailor this to each guest, we were treated to a non-alcoholic spritzer (requested as we don’t drink), a lovely lemon cookie dessert, a handwritten card, a coupon for a complimentary dessert on our next visit, and even had our picture taken—all of this was provided at no additional cost. These thoughtful gestures added a truly personal touch to an already special day. The prices were reasonable, aligning with what you’d expect for quality Italian dining, and the overall experience was worth every penny. We’re already planning to return with our kids, knowing they’ll enjoy the family-friendly atmosphere and delicious menu. Thank you, Maggiano’s Little Italy, for making our anniversary so memorable. We’ll see you again soon!

Fantastic first experience! We got the deal of two pasta entrees, an appetizer, and dessert for $59. Also got a bottle of Cabernet. Carter was a great waiter! We will be back. Delicious and would highly recommend.

This place really exceeded my expectations. We always pass by it when we shop at short pump and was craving some good pasta. The food was amazing and the prices were super reasonable. Our waiter made good recommendations and was really attentive.

My family and I put the pressure on Maggiano's as we rolled in 50 people deep and hungry! I am pleased to report that they rose to the occasion and my WHOLE family left satisfied w/minimal complaints. Food came out hot, fresh, and well seasoned. Cocktails were superb 👌. Highly recommend the smoky Old Fashioned.

Absolutely phenomenal experience. The server Jennifer was very sweet and polite she made sure all of our needs were met. She went over the whole menu with us and recommended the perfect wine for our meal. We were even greeted be the executive chef Temmeka. She lead with a smile and made sure everything was flavorful. We could tell she really had a passion for her job and cared about the food that was being served to us. We got the family meal deal and everything we had was delectable. The meatballs melted in your mouth. I can honestly say everything that we tried was absolutely amazing and was cooked perfectly. You could literally taste the love in the food. Perfect atmosphere very inviting and felt like home. This is definitely my new favorite spot to dine! Pictured is the Shrimp scampi, Fettuccine Bolognese, Chicken Parm, and Rigatoni alla vodka.

Friends, I Absolutely cannot leave here without thanking our amazing waitress Ms. Marcella (aka birthday twin) for being such a blessing today! We came out for a family dinner and we didn’t have a reservation. The wait was almost an hour but somehow they quickly sat us with Ms. Marcella and our day got turned right side up! She is pleasant, funny, engaging and the service was on point! (I absolutely recommend if you visit that you sit in her section near the bar.) She made our 2 hour drive worth it! I watched her work a crowded room where she was the only waitress - and I saw her do it with a smile on her face in a spirit of EXCELLENCE. You know when someone has the spirit of the Lord because this young lady did her thing and made our night! She was professional, funny and accommodating. She knew the menu and could make recommendations which was great! My mom was celebrating her birthday and she made her feel so special! 💕 thank you, Ms. Marcella! You’re a blessing! Oh! The food was fine - we had 2 lasagnas and 2 chicken Parmesans. (They made changes to their menu over the years but the food was ok…. Not amazing but it’s decent. Side note - My food was not the right temp but Ms. Marcella and the GM Mr. Carlos got it right for me and even apologized. This is exceptional service!!! I recommend checking out Maggianos in short pump and giving a shout out to the BEST waitress / bar tender they have- Ms. Marcella. She made the experience memorable for us. And … isn’t life all about making memories?!? Ps- the chocolate cake was FIRE 🔥 Treat yourself. Have fun yall!

This was my first time trying this place and I was throughly impressed. The simple decor gave an elegant feel without being over the top. We had a table of 7 plus a baby and they accommodated us easily. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and answered all our questions. Now the food! The food was amazing! We ordered a few appetizers for us all to pick from. My only complaint was the calamari was salty. Fried to perfection tho but very salty. All in all everything was delicious from start to finish and I will definitely be back when I'm in town. If you have not tried them please do yourself a favor.

This was a lovely restaurant with friendly and attentive service and the food was so, so good. The citrus mule was tasty and refreshing, and my shrimp scampi was so incredible that I cleaned the plate, something I don't usually do.

I had a craving for some good Italian food, finding a place like that is difficult ( I come from an Italian family) . It was my first time there and it did not disappoint! The food was amazing! I definitely recommend if you have not been to go. I drove just over an hour and it was worth the drive. I also had to take advantage of the take home $6 classic dishes. I had to start PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND STEAMED MUSSELS, (Tuscan style), MOZZARELLA ALLA CAPRESE, and for dinner CHICKEN FRANCESE, and for desert I had GIGI'S BUTTER CAKE. It was amazing!

Came here for a Father's Day lunch with my family. Staff was friendly, had a short chat with two of the chefs. They accommodated our party's special needs wonderfully. Due the allergies and the wife's celiac condition, chef makes very customized dishes for the other two members of my party. My rigatoni D was delicious. Drinks were refilled promptly. No negatives, only positives.

We stopped in for a "quick bite" and it was AMAZING. Their appetizer meatballs are seriously the BEST we have had - they rank up there with Virgin Voyages Meatballs and that says A LOT!!! I had a caprese salad and it took me back to Naples Italy - so amazing. Hubby got a Ceasar with chicken and he said it was amazing as well. I have already recommended Maggiano's to a few people from our area. We LOVED the Vibe, the music the wait staff. Hopefully next time we are in Richmond we can stop in again for a longer visit! Ciao!!

One of the best meals and dining experiences we’ve had in a very long time. Staff was super professional and respectful. No one treated us differently because we had our children with us which is a big deal for us personally. We will be returning back for sure.

We've been here several times over the years, but tonight we chose to use a few gift cards we've had sitting around to celebrate the purchase of a new house. Luke was our server, and he was SO kind to us after learning the reason for our visit. He brought us complimentary champagne and even a small, fizzy soda for our teenage daughter. It was so heart-warming and really made the evening special. Thank you, Luke!!

Quite a lovely atmosphere In a nice and quiet corner of a busy area of town. Attentive and kind service with surprisingly very delicious food. Wonderful for place to eat with groups of friends and family. The warm lighting and cozy environment leaves you reminiscing and wanting more. Thanks Maggianos for a unique dining experience!

The dining experience is always nice when I go but this time far exceeded my normal enjoyment. JJ was me and my boyfriend's waitress and I couldn't give her higher praise. She was amazing... And honestly deserves a raise. She was kind and was on top of everything and her overall personality made it a great experience. I know whenever I am able to return, I'll be asking for her area every time!

Went for a family meal. Service was amazing. Our waiter (wish I remembered his name) was really great! He was happy, orders were timely and correct. He provided a treat to go since we were celebrating. Food was delish! Everyone was so happy. Beautiful inside too! I think it’s a must try for short pump. To go boxes were provided and a bag as well. Ten out of ten. Where most restaurants are lacking These days this one definitely is standing out. Great food and service. Will be back!

We dined at Maggiano's for the first time this past Saturday. It was lunch time and they were packed. There several large parties and the restaurant appeared to be short staffed. The interior is rustic Italian design that is warm and inviting. We ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce, cheese ravioli, zucchini fritters, and pumpkin cheesecake for dessert — each dish a standout in its own right. The spaghetti was perfectly al dente, coated in a rich, flavorful sauce that tasted like it had been simmering for hours. The ravioli were delicate pillows that melted in your mouth. And the zucchini fritters? Wow! Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, perfectly cooked — a delightful surprise. The cheesecake was amazing. I saved the best for last - the service. Our server, Emera, was the shining star of our visit. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and had a contagious smile. Even though the restaurant was super busy we never felt stranded or rushed. Our questions were answered and we were even able to talk a bit. The servers seem to work in tandem so everything flows well. It's rare to find a place where both the food and hospitality shine so brightly. If you're craving great Italian fare served with heart, this spot is a must-visit. We'll definitely be returning — on a Saturday to see Emera. Thank you.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. I placed a Thanksgiving order from out of state, and they went above and beyond to make sure my family received their meal. The level of care, communication, and genuine kindness they showed was incredible. In a holiday season that can be stressful, they stepped in and made everything seamless. The food was outstanding, but it was their thoughtfulness and dedication that truly stood out. Thank you for taking such amazing care of my family — you’ve earned a customer for life. Highly recommend! 🙌🦃❤️

Five-Star Experience Thanks to Chef Tammeka Moore What started off as a shaky experience at Maggiano’s Little Italy turned into a truly memorable evening, all thanks to Executive Chef Tammeka Moore. She stepped in with such professionalism, warmth, and genuine care that our entire visit was transformed. Chef Tammeka went above and beyond to make sure our guests were comfortable, satisfied, and well taken care of. She personally checked on us, served with a smile, and ensured every dish that came out was absolutely perfect. Her dedication and attention to detail turned what could’ve been a disappointing night into a wonderful one. We left impressed, grateful, and truly touched by her hospitality. Chef Tammeka saved the day, and because of her, we’ll definitely be returning. Maggiano’s is lucky to have someone like her!

The appetizers were amazing and super delicious. We really enjoyed the main course as well, and the portions were so generous that we took the leftovers home. The dessert was the best tiramisu I've ever had. The staff were great and very respectful.

The food was really good. Even the chef came out to our table with one of the plates. My only issue that I did not share was that in my dip for the fried zucchini, there was a strand of hair in it. Neither here nor there I did not eat it, did not complain and enjoyed the rest of my meal. Very nice restaurant inside too.

It was one of our favorite places to eat to celebrate special occasions. My wife made a reservation for my birthday dinner yesterday. We all arrived together and on time (party of 6). The 3 teenagers working as hosts were having a great time goofing off and it took a while for them to seat us with a reservation (the place was almost empty). We ordered the family style dining which we always have in the past as well. The menu has changed on that (not for the better). We had leftovers which we happily boxed up although the server was quite annoyed when we asked for boxes. When it came time to pay my wife asked to see the bill, this took several requests. The server reluctantly showed us the bill. We used 2 gift cards and a card to pay. The server was obviously annoyed that we did not use one form of payment. What was supposed to be a lovely evening....

We had a Valentine's Day reservation and were immediately put off when we arrived and were told all reservations were delayed by at least an hour. The front of house staff was incredibly disorganized and not very personable. After waiting over an hour past our reservation time we were directed to someone to seat us and when we got to her, she said she was seating another party. I told her we were told to follow her and she just laughed and walked away leaving us awkwardly standing there trying to find someone else to lead us to our seat. We finally got sat and had the most incredible waitress Amanda. She was so sweet and helpful and our meals came quickly. The food was absolutely incredible and well worth the wait, they just need some better organization especially on such a popular day

We typically eat at maggiano's on special occasions. On the 25th was my husband's birthday. I had mentioned but to the person at the front desk when I reserved seating. They paired us up with a fairly new waiter and we spent a lot of time waiting because he forgot most of the time. I don't believe he should be by himself yet. I asked about minestrone soup and there was not any soup if any kind. The waiter did keep telling us the moment had changed. One of my favorite dishes if mushroom raviolis. Unfortunately the flavor has changed significantly. Typically there is a stuffing on the plate of which there wasn't any. It has a hint of wine taste and there wasn't any to speak of. While my husband and daughter had a safe selection of steak they were content. When it came time for my husband's dessert there was no mention about his birthday. Not so much as a happy birthday. We did take our dessert to go, however my daughter shared her dessert with her dad. I did ask the waiter if there was a new chef he mentioned he was new and the menu has changed a lot. We were looking forward to the buy 1 meal take 1 home. We typically get items that we haven't had yet. That no longer exists. Even though I had gotten a few emails that it was available. I don't like writing these types of messages. As much as we go there it's great to have something familiar. Since they are a favorite. Prices have changed as well typically it's $150.00 and it was nearly $350.00 that was also with a gift card. For a birthday meal flop. Please change the menu back and offer your classic minestrone soup.

I don’t even know where to begin to tell you about our experiences through the years with Maggiano’s. It used to be my pick for our anniversary dinners, but the last two times we went it was terrible. The food was not good. The value was not there and it used to be fantastic. We typically go to the Maggiano’s in short pump Richmond at the town center. Plus, it’s gotten so expensive. It just doesn’t match the quality of the food and service. If the food was the same quality, it was a few years ago. I don’t mind paying a little more, but it’s just simply not worth it. I guess it’s OK in a pinch if you want some Italian food while you’re spending the day shopping cause I love to shop at short pump we’re just switching up the restaurants because Maggiano has been so disappointing. The last few times we’ve been there. I had a birthday dinner there last year with my husband and my two adult daughters and walked out spending over $300 and just couldn’t believe it. I have no idea how and why it even cost that much. There was only one glass of wine purchased for alcohol so it’s just… I don’t get it. Restaurants really need to do better with their prices. There’s no longer a food chain supply issue so what’s really going on here everybody.

We went for Valentine's, had to have a reservation. We were sested fairly quick, but took well over an hour to get food. They don't seem to be equipped for big gatherings. The food was fine.

We sat down at the bar and we were not acknowledged for about 10 minutes. We ordered gluten-free pasta (for my daughter who cannot have gluten) and out came something that she had not had before so we questioned what it was. The waiter said it definitely was not gluten-free and he would be back. She did get pasta but it must not have been gluten-free as she was extremely sick all night long. I can't write a review with my check number because we were never offered a paper copy of our receipt. We consistently had to ask for items and felt like a nuisance. The lasagna sauce tasted burnt and I was not even offered the bread (which is so good). A severe bummer of service and food.

J
Jesse Hewitt

We were directed to sit in the bar as they were only taking reservations and seating in between that. We waited for 26-30 minutes never even offered a drink of any proportion, never met by a server, never seen a manager. This place could use a strong manager and not what we witnessed tonight. We heard such great things about this establishment however what we witnessed tonight by the disorganized management style maybe upper management might want to visit on a Friday or Saturday night.

We have been to Maggiano's across the country, and even went there for our wedding reception. For our anniversary we came to the short pump Maggiano's for dinner around 5 pm. The food was really lackluster. The famous rigatoni D was just bad, but this may have been my preferences. My partners meal came out with marinara instead of meat sauce and the meatball was cold in the middle. The waiter brought a side cup of the meat sauce to add to my partner's dish, which seemed odd for this price point. We waited 20 minutes for refills, and finally just asked for our dessert to go and the check. The waiter brought our drinks out in to go cups with our check, which was nice but we wanted a drink while we ate, not on the car ride home. If we try this location again we'll go during lunch when hopefully the quality and service will be better.

E
Elfie

Absolutely unacceptable. I paid $10 for a Caesar salad and they handed me a bowl of plain leaves like I’m a rabbit. The “truffle garlic bread” was so dry The only thing with any flavor was the marinara, and that’s embarrassing. This place should be ashamed to serve food like that.

We encountered very rude staff. We have been there before and enjoyed food. This evening we went and asked for water. It took forever. However main issue is that particular person came and had attitude. We walked out. My kids were saying they are so hungry. Another elderly couple said, you didnt get food either. They said they waited for 45 minutes before same server showed up to their table. Manager and other staff were nice, but we couldnt just stay. On way back home we picked up pick. My 3 year old said "dady thanks for pizza' I felt so bad, we went there to celebrate his birthday.

We tried 2 dishes, Lasagna and Ziti. The waitress was not friendly at all. She didn’t smile or say anything other than take our order. After about 5 minutes she brought out some fresh bread and butter. It took so long for the meal to be brought out…I had consumed the bread and finished my tea. They were not very busy, only 4 different tables with 2 people at each table. When she brought the meal out she brought me a fresh tea and I asked her to see if I could get more bread. She said that she would have it out in a few minutes. My wife and I sampled both dishes and decided that the lasagna was the best choice. We both had eaten what we wanted and the bread had not been served yet. 25 minutes after the meal was served the same waitress brought out the bread and butter. As she placed it on the table she asked if I needed some containers so we could take the food with us. She brought out 3 containers and never once asked to see if we wanted dessert. As we left 2 very Italian men told us to have a great day and thanked us for coming in. I don’t think that we would ever eat there again, just because of the waitress, not because of the food!!!

What's the point of making a reservation when they are running an hour behind on reservations and letting walk ins be seated before reservations? Not only did we have to wait an hour after our reservation to be seated, we were stuffed in the back room (where they had multiple open tables they just weren't seating) had luke warm food, and just ok service. This place is fine for a random nice meal but for a special occasion, I urge you to go literally anywhere else.

A
Amber Zarger

I would like to start off by saying that I completely understand that Maggiano's was busy and was short staffed so I am not complaining about the wait. However, I am complaining about the rudeness of the staff. We walk in and spoke to the host who let us know the entire restaurant was on a 15-20 min wait but if we sat at the bar we could get served immediately. When we get to the bar the bartender blatantly ignored us for 10 mins! We checked the clock to conformed and we know she saw us but choose to ignore us. I ended up getting up to get my own menus. When I did that the bartender came over to tell us she would not speak to us for another 5 minutes. I then go back to the host to ask for help and the host informed me that the wait was now 30 minutes which did not my question but clearly we were not wanted there. I go sit back down and asked the person that I was with if they would like to try another restaurant but then the bartender finally came over. We asked if Carlton (one of the managers) was there because the person I was with knew him and telling someone about our experience isn't a bad idea. However, instead of answering the question the bartender interrupts us to start complaining about how busy she is. At no point in time did the bartender or host say SORRY for the inconvenience which is baffling to me! As someone who was a server for 10 years, this is not how you treat guest, you don't treat them like they don't exist and hide your manager from them. Even if the bar was not open during the restaurant hold someone should have told us that rather then ignoring us for 15 minutes. AND to top it all off the reason we decided to go to Maggiano's for lunch was because we had gift cards from the poor services we got the last time we were in. The last two experiences has put me off of Maggiano's and I don't plan on going back.

I do not know what happened to this restaurant but it is trash now. We came for lunch on February 6th at about 2pm. It was not crowded. It took at least 10 min for us to get even water and about 10more minutes for the waiter to take our order… so we had already been there for 20 minutes which was MORE thank enough time to look at the extremely limited menu they now have. There are about 12 things on this menu food wise…. That’s it! You can’t pick what pasta you want, you can’t get a choice of sausage or meatballs, there was 1 seafood option and it wasn’t even Italian. The only holdovers from their original menu were chicken parm and lasagna. There is no dessert anymore apparently because it was nowhere to be found on their one sided, one page, blurb of a menu. We finally ordered and it was difficult because there was nothing I wanted I. The 12 options that were mostly not even Italian. My friend got a cease salad with chicken, I got an Italian salad and calamari and my husband got spaghetti and meat balls. Sounds simple right? We waited 45 additional minutes with no food, no drink refills nothing… then they have the audacity to bring out the wrong food. They forgot my friend’s salad and put grilled chicken on top of my husband’s spaghetti. My salad was supposed to be an entree salad but was a side salad. I said that is it, we are done. I offered to pay for the 2 sodas we got which they declined and we left. I have loved Maggianos for YEARS! When they opened at short pump they were a gold standard. I am Italian and from NY and it made me feel like home. This restaurant is now a disgrace! The whole chain is a disgrace. Private equity companies ruin everything. I am so sad that I can never go back there and get the food and service that was once so good. You all love to blame Covid or the fact that “people don’t want to work” when the problem is corporate CEO’s that don’t give a crap about quality. The public is responding and you will wind up out of business like so many other places. Farewell Maggianos…. You had a good run I guess.

It had been years since I ate here, and today was such a disappointment. The only reason I am giving 4 stars for service is because our server did the best she could. The kitchen was a mess to be honest. Not only did the food take so long to come out, we waited at least 30 mins for salads. Once my salad got to the table, it was missing like three ingredients and only had burnt bacon and a massive amount of onions. Then, our pasta came and I had requested gluten free pasta. The food runner had three entrees on the platter, he handed me my pasta and I kindly said oh I asked for gluten free. He handed my sister her pasta which was correct. Then he just sort of stood there and was about to walk away and I again said I can’t eat this. Then he took the plate and left, he also asked about a third entree that we did not order. Not sure what happened there. Our server came to check and said she was going to make sure they were remaking it. A lot of tables around us were also having issues with their food. It almost seemed like the kitchen just made whatever they wanted and sent it out hoping people wouldn’t send it back. I think that’s part of the reason the food took SO long. We were there for almost three hours and didn’t even order apps. There were a couple of parties there, but this was around 1-2 PM today. Our server offered for my salad to be remade to go, and made sure my pasta was corrected. For me, it just felt like there was no care at all about making sure food came out correctly. When our entire section has the wrong food coming out, it’s clear there is an issue in the back of the house.

Absolutely awful experience. We made a reservation for Valentine’s Day and showed up about 15 minutes before our time to check ourselves in, the host informed us that they were running about 45 minutes behind on reservations (fine, obviously a management issue but it’s Valentine’s Day so whatever) we went back to our car and waited 45 minutes and then went back in to see where we were in the line and the host acted like she’d never seen us before and said that there were now 12 people ahead of us and it would be another hour…at that point we were put off 2 hours past our reservation time. Absolutely ridiculous - the management here made a major mistake by allowing walk-ins. We ended up deciding to leave and are still extremely disappointed in the service here. Probably won’t ever go back honestly. No one apologized or offered any type of reimbursement for our wasted time.

I was excited to get to celebrate my birthday at Maggiano’s with my husband and we had a $20 gift card. We sat for over 20 minutes before anyone came to our table. Our server was very friendly but apologized incessantly over how busy he was serving a party of 30, a party of 10, 3 tables near us and handling the bar. We ordered Marcos dinner for 2 which included an appetizer to share, 2 salads, 2 pasta entrees and a dessert to share. We never got our appetizer that was included but the salads were delicious. My husbands lasagna was great but my Rigatoni was dry and tasted microwaved. Since we had waited forever we just took the tiramisu to go. The atmosphere is so bougie but not worth it and definitely not going back. Pick any other Italian restaurant!
