The best dive in the area. This is the type of place I long for in NYC and Brooklyn. Straightforward service, great atmosphere, and the addition of I Like Food just takes it over the top, everything there is delicious and their waitress is consistently the friendliest person in the city and always makes my day better.

Low key bar in Ridgewood. Drinks are reasonably priced and bartenders are accessible and down to earth. Pool table in the back and the kitchen has some solid choices when it comes to burgers and fries. Ask the guy in the back what the best burger is and just go with it. A good place where the music isn’t too loud so you can interact with people and cozy as well. Definitely a spot I’m going back to.

The bartender was beautiful. He was quick and cordial. The food in the back of the joint was quick and delicious. Made a couple of really good friends here and I'll make it a point to visit any time I visit Ridgewood/NYC. It's always cool to find a bar you can use as a suggestion for friends when they are visiting an area. I've moved my entire life and never really sit still, but I'll remember Ginny's and I'll suggest it to my friends coming out East! THANKS Y'ALL!

Really low-key poppin spot if you want to just kick it with your friends. They have a pool table, some video games, photo booth, and DELICIOUS food. Their drinks are cheap, ($3 draft, $8 mixed drink). Very hipster employees but definitely nice, cool guys. Highly recommend everyone!

One of the coolest neighborhood bars. Huge bar with lots of booths and seating. Staff is friendly and chill. It's got a pool table and video games. There's also a great kitchen that serves up bar food. Exterior seating as well.

The food is good and it is a warm atmosphere. And they play good tunes. However I wish they would turn down the volume like 3 notches, it’s a little too loud in there.

Joe truly changed the experience. Coming straight from Maison Premiere, it was supposed to be just the end of the night experience. However, he made a better negroni than those who claim cocktail as their craft. 10/10

I go here every chance I can. The drinks are great. The food is delicious! The environment is fantastic and there's usually an adorable dog somewhere(sometimes that dog is the one I bring with me 😜). WINGS AND NACHOS ARE THE BEST ON PERIOD ! Go straight to the back to order food, then go to the bar so you don't have to run your card back and forth. The margarita is pretty good, a little sour but not bad. The wings are SO GOOD, idk what they're doing to them. Perfect crust on the outside, sauce on point. The nachos have pickled veggies that set it off in the best way. Chicken tenders weren't bad, but they pale next to these other snacks. Update: good lord. The fried pickle mix is absurd. Please make this permanent. Banana peppers are mixed in and my gawd, it's amazing. This is why I'll never lose any weight 😩

Cool place to be, the menu is not gigantic, but you will find a food that will make you happy. The beer and drink selection is what you expect to be or a bit more. Great neighborhood place with friendly people.

The food, drinks, and vibes were all great. But two times in a row we went the bathrooms were disgusting and felt like porta potty bad.

The staff is incredibly really friendly, the music is great; mostly rock, they occasionally have a DJ too. Pool table, a few video games good table as well as bar seating and yes, they have a small kitchen 😋

Great food. Especially the spice box. Bartenders are hit and miss. The male bartenders are good but a couple of the female bartenders act like they would rather be anywhere else and are rude. Pity.

Cool neighborhood bar. This is a very spacious bar. They have a pool table and some games. The service is good. The prices are great. It's a laid back atmosphere. You can order food in the back. I didn't try the food so I can't rate it. Maybe next time I go I'll try it.

Great casual bar vibes, cheap prices and great food. What’s not to like? We got the frozen mojito, coke, pernil wrap with lemon pepper fries and Thai chili wings. The mojito was not great sadly. There were no Mint specks and I could not really taste the flavor either. I literally just tasted frozen and liquor. Like the flavor of an icee but very bland lol. I love mojitos so this was kind of sad. The coke was kind of sad too, the carbonation was weak. I like when my soda punches me in my chest with bubbles. The food was great! I really liked the wrap, fries and wings. I think the pernil was a bit dry unfortunately, I heard slow cooked and was expecting juicy like carnitas or al pastor or pulled pork. I’ve had juicier pernil before so maybe today was a bad batch. Good flavor but I can’t stand dry food. Lemon pepper fries were everything ! Perfect crunch and seasoning levels and internal fluffiness. The wings were so so good, crunchy, sweet, slight kick, and great with that squeeze of citrus. Absolutely loved it. Definitely want to go back for the nachos, spice box, chicken sandwich and more. Definitely need to be wary of the bar but my service was great.

Love the atmosphere of the bar and the bartender on thanksgiving was great. Hipsters kinda ruined it for us though so we called it an early night.

This is a decent neighborhood watering hole. Some of the arcade machines don't work... But the booze is relatively affordable.

I used to be a returning customer who tipped very swell whenever I decided to spend money here. Not anymore though because certain staff who work here on certain days just make you not want to return AT ALL. A lot of the staff here think they’re better than you if you’re not a hipster or emo with an acquired taste for terrible metal music with their holier than thou attitude. In fact, I used to work the door here and I must say if it weren’t for (I Like Food), their restaurant in the back, and their awesome employees. Aunt Ginny’s would be just another dumpster fire dive bar. Shout outs to the actual good staff like Joe, Troy, Anais, Austin, Timmy, Anthony, Tiffany Ali, Mir, all the I Like Food staff who are kind and genuine people, keeping this place alive. They are the reason I’m giving this review 3 stars and not 1. The staff I haven’t mentioned who work the bar at Aunt Ginny’s I either haven’t worked with enough to know what kind of staff they are but the rest need a training course on how to interact with others because that short tempered woman bartender with the glasses needs to stay in a woman’s place before she barks at the right one and gets herself checked Especially after she came around the bar aggressively while insulting me and talking to me crazy in front of other customers when I only told her I’m stepping away to the restroom, when it’s only common sense that if we’re the only two people on shift, I as security have to let you know my whereabouts otherwise she’d assume I just walked off post. Then again, common sense is not so common nowadays. And I’d like to find out this review got deleted in a last ditch effort to save face because I’ll repost it again and again until there is a positive change in service and more welcoming atmosphere

Service here sucks. So bad. Came here twice and definitely won't be going back. Typical dive bar with bartenders that take 20 minutes to ask you if you want another drink and when you order one they can't seem to muster up enough energy to even acknowledge what you said. Really made me laugh when I read the sign they hung up behind the bar saying "Good tippers go to heaven"....seriously? If the owners can't pay their bartenders a high enough wage that they need to rely on customers to pay it, then at least tell them to be friendly...or human. Dealing with these bartenders was like talking to a brick wall. I'm usually not one to nitpick on service, but god this was bad. Two stars for the tasty margarita and reasonable prices, but I'm good on having to wait 20 minutes to be acknowledged when there are 3 bartenders behind the bar. It was absolutely unreal how bad the service here was and sucked that I actually had to leave a tip for these people.

The bar tender was really nice, although he had no idea how to make a wine spritzer. I would guess he doesn't get many requests for them in this place. Extremely loud music, and many surfaces that could use the attention of a hot water and a scrub brush. Definitely not my cup of tea.

Unfortunately, I felt uncomfortable when I was asked for a tip after my first drink, even though I planned to tip at the end. It made me not want to order more. Overall a good place, but service could be handled better.

He came to this bar for a long time, but today the doorman didn't let me in because I spoke Spanish, it's a clear act of racism. out of that he pushed me. It's a shame because it's a bar that I frequented and it's the one in my neighborhood.

Rude. It’s sad when you expect more. They looked open, so we went inside on 08/15/20. Brought a friend from across the river to check out Ridgewood for the first time. Upon entering, a nice lady said they were closed for the night. So I we asked what the hours were so we could come back another evening. That’s when another guy by the counter cut us off and yelled “GUYS! PLEASE LEAVE!” According to Instagram, they bill themselves as “RIDGEWOOD’S FAVORITE NEIGHBORHOOD BAR.” And it was my favorite before this. I hope this was just a one off, but I don’t plan on coming back. Fortunately, this sent us down the street to another bar that was super chill and the customer service was great!

This establishment committed fraud. I made a purchase from here. While doing that, I watched the bar tender yell and insult a customer for not tipping enough. I ended up not tipping at all for receiving no service for over 30 mins waiting to order and because the bar tender yelled at a man in front of his woman for only tipping $6 on a $70 bill. I received a notification from my bank asking if I meant to tip 100%. I noticed that I was charged way more than what I swiped my card for and signed on the receipt. I did not tip and wrote "no tip". This place legit committed fraud and did not return my call after I left a voicemail. I contacted my bank and within 5 minutes I was credited the money. However, I will never return here. Also, I watched a guy walk outside and begin to smoke Crack. I had never seen this before and only knew because everyone outside started yelling about his behavior. This is a sketchy establishment with poor ethics.

This place is ruining the quiet residential street. They used to have the bouncer enforcing people be quiet outside but it seems they don’t care anymore. Many older people live on the street with their bedrooms facing the bar. It’s super inconsiderate of the bar owners to not have the door person enforcing people keep it down. As an establishment they should care about the people who live around it.

Sure- Ginny's is a cool bar that has good food and they play good music, but the people that work there all have attitudes (maybe especially so if you're not a twenty-something year old hipster). Good food and music goes a long way but you know what goes further? Customer Service, friendly faces, kindness, knowing how to talk to people. Learn how to do that.
