This place is on their A game for sure. The guy behind the register was most helpful and patient while we looked at the menu. He helped get us registered for the rewards, gave us a sample of their 2 shakes (SOOOOO YUMMY), brought our food out to us and even gave us a side of all of their in house made sauces. Much better than Raising Cane's who only has 1 sauce, and they charge for more. We've found our new fave and we will DEFINITELY be back....OFTEN!!!
Layne's and this location in particular are AWESOME! So much better than Canes. The fries are better (crispier). The chicken seems to be better also and more consistent also you can get spicy or regular chicken. Tea, lemonade and toast are all there and just as good if not better. Also unlike canes have different hot sauces on the table (like Cholula). This location seems not to be real busy hope they open one closer to us soon!
I’ve only eaten here twice but both times have been great. The spicy tenders are a go to. Always fresh and the sauce is way better than canes. Kayla did a great job today with my service. Fast and fresh.
Went here for the first time yesterday. It was way better than expected. First, Katelyn was super helpful and patient with me being a first time customer. She went above and beyond. The chicken was some of the best tenders I've had in a long time and everything in the dining area was clean and nice. Definitely a 10/10
We would often go to the 'other' very similar chicken tender place, but I prefer Laynes. Gravy! The fries are crispier, the sauce has more flavor, the bread is buttery, and the shakes are fantastic! The reward app is easy to use and points rack up quickly. I highly recommend Layne's in Roanoke as the service is always excellent and the employees are always happy!
My son is super picky so I was overjoyed that he fell in love with Layne’s. It’s hard to get him to try anything new but I told him to trust mommy! He did and now we’re here every week. I’ll order a finger meal and he eats the tenders and I eat the fries and toast. We get greeted by a friendly smile everytime. Tenders are always hot too, which I love no matter what time we come through the drive-thru or eat in. Glad they are around the corner!
Our family loves this location! Always great service!
We went 5 days after their grand opening, but you’d never know they were in training by their efficiency. I ordered the 5 finger combo meal. The chicken was fresh and crispy as well as the crinkle fries. This was my first visit to a Layne’s ever. I really enjoyed the Layne’s sauce and their honey mustard. The restaurant was very clean and the associates were all helpful and friendly. The owner was out helping run food and greeting customers. Loved the vibe and we will definitely be back.
As someone who once worked at Raising Canes during my teenage years. I gotta say Layne's has them beat. The first time I tried Layne's was at a different location, I remember it being good but couldn't compare the two. I didn't realize there was a Layne's Chicken so close to me. I ordered some today through the drive-thru and maaaaan... it was so delicious. Food was hot when I got it. Although by the time I got home it was lukewarm but by the touching the box when I received it I know it was hot. Anyways, it was so good. I'm glad they have the options to choose between original or spicy. I have to go with spicy though since I love my chicken with some heat. Keep doing what yall doing here! I am always going to be at the place where they serve some hot fresh chicken!
This place is soo much better than the other place that rhymes with the name. The fries are tastier and crispier, the chicken has more spice. I have found my favorite tender place. i for sure coming back. And i believe it was cheaper than the competitor. Way to go Layne's
Me and my friends came here and somebody who im pretty sure owned the place paid for everything. Service and employees we great. Prices are fair. And food is very good
First time here. Honestly 5 stars overall! Service was amazing. Carla was at the register she was super friendly very attentive. Good food came out quick and was super fresh! Tried the spicy and original, both seasoned very well. Will definitely be back!
Ty(the general manager)was really nice and very hospitable, and even made me a spicy chicken sandwich to try. Greatly appreciate it 🙏 😌 💯
Staff was friendly and went above and beyond to feed our baseball team. Thank you!
First time trying Layne's. Very good. Similar to Cane's but they offer spicy tenders which was a plus for me. Tasted just as good, if not better. And Mariah made it a very good first experience for me. Definitely recommend trying.
First timer here! Mariah made it an amazing experience! The food was FRESH and DELICIOUS! Definitely gained a returning customer when I saw they had spicy fingers. Will recommend to everyone & will be back for sure!!
Went as soon as they opened and they were ready! The sweet tea was freshly brewed. As well as the chicken and fries were made-to-order and tasted delicious! This is THE best chicken finger place out there!! This location had friendly and helpful staff too.
Good afternoon, my daughter and I are eating lunch at the Roanoke location. Absolutely love this place:) The chicken, fries and sweet tea are awesome! Bryce took our order. He welcomed us in the door, was polite as well. He delivered our 4 finger meal with no Layne sauce , large Drink , medium drink just exactly as I ordered it! After a few minutes, he walked by to see if our order was accurate and asked if we needed anything else. We really appreciate you hiring Bryce! He was cleaning tables when we got ready to leave. The music, eating and drink area were clean . We used the ladies bathroom, and it was spotless! Great job!!
Layne's was new to me, but I've already been back 2 more times 😅 If you are familiar with Raising Canes, it's pretty similar, but the breading is crispier and crunchier and has more flavor. The flavor is black pepper heavy both in the tenders and the sauce. If you like pepper you will love their tenders, if you don't like black pepper it may be too much for you. Personally I think it delicious. The fries have been fresh, hot and crispy everytime I have gone. They are a crinkle cut style fry with a good level of saltiness. Their included Texas toast is buttery and well toasted. Also their Lemonade is fire, get it... it's delicious.
Always a great experience at Lanes in Roanoke. I work nearby so I eat there often and am always pleased with the service and food and at a good price. I have the app and sometimes my meal is free with the points I have collected.
Love their spicy chicken! Great to have a halal option around here.
I was invited to taste the difference in the chicken here by a young man named Christian, and I didn't think I would like it, but it really was very good. ❤️
I didn't give this Lane's a fair chance because I had a bad experience at one in the Colony. So I went 3 years before giving it a try. I was wrong this location was very good the sauce was very good the chicken and fries where crispy, hot and fresh. I even had one of there employees coming over to where I worked. It was also very reasonable price wise.
Food was great customer was on point really enjoyed my food and time here
Chicken is way better than Canes. Service good and food is always wonderful
The BEST staff in our sweet town! Food of course is amazing!!!!!
I had their chicken wrap and absolutely loved it! It was my first time trying the Layne’s sauce too, and I loved the smoky flavor!
Laynes is legendary to me after eating in college station and this location lived up to the hyoe!
I wanted to give props to Matthew inside the store. He is friendly, welcoming, and customer centric. I ordered incorrectly on the app and he helped me sort it out in the store with a positive attitude. And if course the food came out fresh and tasted great like always.
The manager was excellent. Chatted with us and gave us a sample of the delicious spicy chicken. Superb service with a friendly smile. Good place to grab a bite. This chicken is kickin’
This was my 3rd drive-thru visit. New to town from Houston and now living super nearby. I was craving gravy with my tenders, and decided to see if that was an option. It was! Hahaha, our first two visits were very good, but the gravy elevated this visit lol. Awesome service as well. Will definitely be back soon!
I love Laynes! This location is awesome. The manager there runs a tight ship to ensure the customer service and quality is top tier! Only thing missing is a Laynes location closer to me in North Fort Worth!
100/10 would recommend. Not super expensive and definitely amazing food. Fresh every time, their sauce is the bomb best fries everrrr!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!! And their staff is pretty good too
Layne's is absolutely awesome. The overall quality is so much better than Raising Cane's it's surprising how canes is so popular. The chicken is savory and fresh, the breading is crispy and good, the fries are easily the best I've ever had! This place is so underrated! It deserves the popularity canes is getting! And Laynes came first!!! Highly recommend!!
We haven’t been to Layne’s since our son and daughters attended Texas A& M. So glad we stopped in! The food was delicious as always! What made this visit extraordinary was the service! Carla and Pat went the extra mile to make sure that we were greeted and taken care of with the BEST service possible!! Our party of 11 was so impressed with both of them!! Thank you!
My family and I LOVE laynes!!! The food is always fresh and hot. The wait is never too long and the employees are all super nice and helpful.
Excellent chicken fingers and I do believe they're little secret sauce with their chicken fingers is actually better than Raising Cane's which is more popular cuz there's more locations but I still think that it is a better
The food here is so much better than canes. So much more flavor, the bread actually has flavor and canes just tastes like fake bread
This is my second visit. The first time, I paid for my meal, then I joined their rewards program and they gave me a free 3-finger meal credit which I used today. The food was good and was ready before I had even finished making my drink both times. Just a tip: Join their rewards program first, before your first order, to trigger the free meal reward (or you’ll have to go through customer service to have it added to your account, like I did).
As a former student that misses Layne’s every day, I was on a visit to Forth Worth and had to find the closest location, this was 35 min away. I got there, and was surprised at how empty it looked :/. I was the only customer on a Sunday at 4:00 PM. People need to know about Layne’s. I got the 4 finger combo, and it was stupid fantastic. Fries, chicken were hot, and the sauce hit the spot. There is something about the sauce at Layne’s that their competitors will never match. I don’t come to the DFW area often but any Layne’s location will always be in my radar. Wish there was one here in Austin.
This place is my favorite. They are the only fast food chicken fingers that don't make me sick since they don't fry in soybean oil. Always super hot, quick and tasty. I was a whataburger and cane's addict before figuring out food allergies and found these guys by accident. This food is way better. I can eat a 4 finger meal and still feel good after eating. It tastes clean and fresh, with a nice crispy fry coating that isn't greasy. Will be a permanent customer.
Had a bit of an issue yesterday with not receiving some things in my order. I spoke with the manager Jordan, who was extremely professional, calm and helpful throughout the entire process, especially with the restraints DoorDash has on fixing online orders. He honored his words and took care of us our next visit. Very impressed with the way he handled everything.
I drive here pretty often when I am out and about. This is about 30 minutes out of the way for me and I will always make the effort. The staff is young but very fast and service is great. They seem to have a whole plan and it feels organized. Definitely recommend!
I really have enjoyed this spot. It's the only Layne's I've visited, and I really enjoy this spot. Much better than Canes, in my opinion. The salted caramel cookie is a fav of mine; it's not an easy to find packaged brand. The food is pretty consistently made fresh and is served hot. I have had a few duds with the meals, but the overall quality and taste keep me coming back. Not a lot on the menu, pretty much just chicken. The atmosphere is really homey, especially compared to Canes. No screaming red walls. There is a wall of clocks that tell the time to the minute in different parts of TX, which I love. Lots of cute decals to stare at, too. This is actually one of the only fast food restaurants I sat in myself. Their app is a little bare bones, but I like it. I got a free 3 finger meal for my bday. I'm really gonna miss this place once I don't have an excuse to go up to Roanoke.
Really good chicken strips and fries. Service at the drive-thru was great.
Tried this place for the first time on my lunch break and It did not disappoint I enjoyed the spicy tender option and the sauce was really delicious.
Luke was an amazing server! Truly far superior to Cane’s (and we love Cane’s!)
Great alternative to the other chicken tenders place. The staff here is very friendly. The General Manager was there when I went and it is clear he sets the example for the rest of the staff. They have a spicy option which I love. Also have a variety of dipping sauces. Highly recommended for anyone near Roanoke.
This place is consistently awesome. The food is always fresh and really good. I don’t know how it’s possible to have such fast service and still get chicken that’s actually still hot. The staff is always really friendly
Nicest customer service ever. we showed up with a group of 25 people for a birthday without notice, and we were served the most delicious chicken strips and sides ever! they even gave the birthday boy a free t-shirt! friendly staff and fantastic fast chicken!
Took my wife here. First time she’s ever been to lanes and they did not disappoint. Great food and the staff was extremely friendly. 10 out of 10 recommended. If you haven’t been here, please try it out!
Great experience. The manager that runs the place is awesome. Makes you appreciate what good food and good service should still remain like.
The spicy chicken tenders were so delicious. Their customer service is fast and nice. Cherry on top: They’re 100% Halal.
This place blows Cane's out of the water. It has more selection. The food is just cooked better. Crispy (non soggy) exterior and a moist (not greasy) inner. Their spicy stuff is actually spicy.
The restaurant was Clean. The staff was fast, professional, and kind. The food was fresh, warm, and delicious. The order was correct. You can’t ask for much more out of a fast food chain and most don’t meet 1/10th of this. I will continue returning to this location for sure.
I had such a wonderful experience at Layne’s chicken. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive from start to finish specially the manger named Karla. The food was absolutely delicious especially the spicy chicken which was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food and excellent service. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Pleasantly surprised. Nice spicy juicy chicken.Perfect cooked fries speedy and delightful service. Thank you Mr. GM I will be back and will be telling all my friends and family How great you're Roanoke Layne's restaurant is!!
This was mine and my wife's first time eating here. There was a kid that was working the front. We probably got there just a little after 6. He told me his name, but I already forgot it. And the kid was amazing. He was out in the lobby. He was checking on customers. He even offered to help carry our food out. While it was raining. What a nice guy and he was a teenager too. You just don't get that kind of service anywhere. The chicken was pretty good. The French fries was delicious, crispy fresh. I got the lane sauce which was okay. I did not like the spicy ranch. The toast tasted good. Overall, it was a great experience, and we will return based on the experience we had tonight
Best fast food experience I've had in ages. Our food was very fresh and very tasty and the tables were all very clean. The customer service was also excellent which is almost unheard of in a fast food location. We will definitely be back regularly if this is the norm at this location! Thanks for getting it right, y'all!
I'll have to compare to Cane's since it's a direct competitor. The fries and sauce are as good if not slightly better than Cane's. The chicken is slightly worse, it's a thicker breading and isn't as fresh. The toast is significantly worse. I'd have to choose Cane's since the price isn't hardly different. But I wouldn't complain having to eat here again, other than the subpar toast. Staff, atmosphere, and cleanliness were comparable.
The spicy chicken fingers are where it's at! I haven't had a spicy chicken finger with a dry rub type of spice. Very good!
It was really good. Food was hot and fresh, burnt my tongue at first from how hot it was! 😂 Service was great, had my food in a reasonable amount of time. Atmosphere was pretty good, only thing was the ice maker was a bit on and off, to be fare, there was a decent amount of people, and it was hot outside. Other than that, I love the food! And the options!!
Tried this place for the first time and got the Chicken Finger Meal with a Salted Caramel Shake just what I expected! The chicken tenders were perfectly seasoned, crispy, and delicious with the signature sauce. Great atmosphere, clean space, and excellent service. Big thanks to Feroze for making the experience even better!
I came to see if it can compare with Raising Cane's. Pros: spicy tenders available. I like spicy foods. Fries are tastier. The chicken is a bit more moist. Cons: Toast is only toasted on one side, which gives it a weird mouth-feel. Fries are more greasy. Chicken is more greasy. Sauce is good, but not quite as good as Cane's sauce. Overall: I'm really not into greasy food, so I have to give Cane's the win despite Layne's being better in some ways.
Definitely not blown away. Ordered the 4 piece meal. 3 of the 4 pieces were a bit dry. You pretty much have to use their sauce to give them any flavor. Otherwise, the chicken is fairly blan. Fries and toast were pretty tasty and liked slogan and decor. Probably won't go back.
Hate to be a negative review here. The young girl at the window couldn’t have cared less about her job. Both drinks were handed to us full of soda on the sides and on the lid. Asked for a few napkins to clean it and she gave me two jumbled up napkins. Just didn’t seem like she took pride in her work. The food was mediocre in our opinion. The gravy was very good. Nothing special about the chicken tenders. The fries were actually pretty good. We’ll probably give it another try eventually, but will not be rushing back.
The "spicy " tenders just tasted like it had more salt. I wish they would add salt to the fries. Maybe because they were super fresh but the food overall was very greasy. The chicken was also pretty small compared to other places. I did like that you can taste the jalapeño on the ranch and their special sauce was good. It does taste similar to Canes but I like this one better. The toast was pretty big too. Overall the food was good but It's not on my go to list. Service was great!
Lately service is adequate but my last visit resulted in 2 separate orders getting incorrectly assembled. One with limp mushy fries and the second without fries. Returning to the drive through, as the lobby was now closed, this was nearly corrected but still got our sauces wrong. I wasn't about to return a third time for someone to demonstrate a severe lack of concern for accuracy and just how absent a sense of urgency was.
We spent a total of 45 mins that day. Apparently, your systems went down. There was several staff members working but no one notice that the restaurant was filling up with tables full and no food. I got up and said something and even the manager didn't know about the problem. They were all nice and the large crowd was calm, but you'd have thought the staff could have figured this problem out earlier when ho food was up for serving. A staff member refunded us chicken portion of the meal. Roanoke store last Saturday.
Sauce is great and seasoning is there but they need to do a lot better with portion sizes. They are so small it wouldn’t even a feed a 5 year old. This happened twice so it’s disappointing
I learned something new today. Tracking said my order was ready at 1:15. It’s 1:46 and I’m still standing here in the lobby waiting. I started to pay attention to the drive through. 15 cars got their order before the 7 people waiting on pick up orders. I asked about it. They said they have to prioritize the drive through and will keep making their orders first. It’s waaaay quicker to order from the drive through. The lady that got her order 10 minutes ago waited for 45 min. Yikes. Update: Twp people that came in well after I did received their order first. Is what it is. I must have pissed them off for complaining. I was walking up to cancel my order and go start my own chicken strip franchise because I might get my food quicker when my order was finally filled at 1:58. If it’s busy, don’t order from the app, just go to the drive through. They don’t care about online orders or lobby guest.
Stopped in for the first time tonight, and wanted to try it out compared to Cane's. The tenders and fries were good, and liked the layne's sauce (Cane's is good but this was a little better). But the rest of it was a let down. $15 larger box yet was missing 1 sauce & the amount of fries seemed light. Then the toast was toasted on one side...yet cold to the touch. And the tea? Not sure what they gave me, but it tasted awful and foul. It had the taste of something that was left sitting out for 2-3 days and it made me gag the taste was so off. The tenders and sauce were nice, but the rest of it made me regret stopping by.
I called in an order once and ordered on-line a second time—both times thinking the orders would be ready for pickup when I arrived. When I ordered on-line, I was given a pickup time. Well, when I get there both times, the orders have not even been started. This is my last time ordering from this Layne’s. The manager told me that they accidentally gave my order to someone else!
I have really enjoyed other locations and the food prior to tonight. Dining out is very expensive in today's world. I ordered a 4 finger meal, extra order of French fries and toast, and 2 beverages. When I got home there was 3 of 5 fingers and my "extra " fries literally was a box with 12 French fries for $1.59. Shame on me for not checking all my boxes prior to driving away I suppose. I would hope there would be better quality control and pride in the product. Also the staff working at this location was incredibly unfriendly, it appearedwe were an inconvenience. Will not be visiting this location again.
I just went through the drive through and had the absolute worst experience i have had in a fast food place. The girl taking our order kept repeating the order back wrong, talking over us, Kept telling us to give her a second and pausing for a few minutes multiple times and barley cared about what we were ordering and basically rushing us through it. Then we get to the window, they keep closing the window on our faces. THEN they give us our order and we are missing our chicken wrap. So we try to get the attention of the workers. I see workers on their phones ignoring us then finally when we get their attention. The workers laughed about messing up our order. I was so mad i tried to call and was sent straight to a full voicemail box. I will never eat here again. I cannot believe how disorganized and immature those workers were.
Terrible slow drive thru line 😪 so much for fast food service dont go
Chicken strips were like you were chewing on a rubber-band... Secret sauce tasted exactly like one of their biggest competitors with an added table spoon of cinnamon (tablespoon=my guess and may not reflect actual amount, but either way YUCK). DO NOT waste your time or money. Will never go back.
I went through the drive thru, ordered the 3 piece tender. When I arrived home 5 min away. The fries were cold, hard and tasted as if the were cooked yesterday. I went through the drive thru at 11:15. I couldn't eat the chicken tasteless and dry. Will not be going back.
They have some kind of pricing scam going on. Ordered online and was charged one price. Picked it up and realized the price I paid was almost $4 more per meal x 5 meals. Asked mgr for a price adjustment and or cancel and ring it up at lower prices and he said he didn't know how to do it. Went to app to find contact number and the number just called this same mgr. noticed on app it says something about DoorDash but I didn't order off of app but the website and it did not mention anything about an up charge for DoorDash , even though I picked it up. Emailed customer service and they did not respond. Took the food because I paid for it. Not only overcharged over $20 but then get ghosted. Will fill complaint with attorney general in violation of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act .
