Tacos Azteca is a quaint Mexican restaurant near PetSmart and Dollar Tree in Roanoke. The décor is simple yet charming, with colorful Mexican flags hanging from the ceiling and a portrait of Frida on the wall. Our server, Norman, greeted us warmly the moment we walked in and immediately made us feel welcome. This authentic restaurant gave us a chance to practice our Spanish—Norman happily took our bilingual order. We sampled six different kinds of tacos, including lengua and nopales (marinated cactus), and everything tasted fresh and authentic. Norman was attentive, friendly, and helpful throughout our meal. We’ll definitely be back to Tacos Azteca for its ambiance and food. Thank you, Norman, for your excellent service!

The food here is so good, DoorDash could bring me the wrong order from this place and I wouldn't even complain. Specifically, the birria tacos are so delicious I would fist fight a man sized mantis shrimp for half a taco and a teaspoon of the sauce that comes with it.

Tacos Azteca has the absolute best authentic Mexico food in the area! We've been big fans ever since they were operating out of the small gas station spot, and SO happy they moved into the new location on 377. Our family loves the breakfast tacos, but a dinner plates are always amazing! Favorites are the chicken flautas, asada or pastor burritos, and birria tacos. The staff is always super friendly and prices are reasonable. If you haven't been, you're missing out!

The space is unassuming. The food is amazing! The staff is very friendly. The street tacos are hands down, the best I have ever had! They are facing the Home Depot side of the complex. I am happy I went by and tried a new place to eat. No pics of the food- gone too quickly.

Burritos are awesome and burger tasted great. Couldn't get photos of kids burger and fries. 🤣 Will be back worth the drive.

Experience the authentic taste of real Mexican-style tacos! The service here is fantastic, and the tacos are absolutely amazing. I tried the pastor and fajita tacos, and they were incredible. My wife had the burrito, and it was equally delicious. I highly recommend this taco spot – you won’t find tacos like these anywhere else in the Roanoke area!

Put some respect on this place. Tacos are bomb. I got the pastor, fajita, and birria. All bomb. Pastor and birria were my favorites. Good salsa excellent flavors, friendly service, reasonable prices and clean. If you like real Mexican tacos come here.

OMG!! The BEST tacos this side of the border. I used to live in Del Rio and have tried many street tacos and these are the best I’ve ever had! Tried the bistek, carnitas and barbacoa which were all delicious and came with the traditional green and red salsas and diced onions, cilantro and lime. The star of the show was the birria tacos, which came with rice and consommé. These are the best birria tacos I’ve ever had and I consider myself a snob. Huge portions and a Mexican Coke to wash it down. 10/10 can’t wait to come back

Just wish they had more seating. Othet then that I definitely recommend trying it. Their asada is delicious and the barbacoa is on point. Not grease at all.

Great Breakfast Tacos, the PAPA was over cooked. But overall the taste was nice the sauce was very good and spicy too. Haven’t had a decent breakfast tacos in a while in DFW area, definitely recommend this palace.

Overpriced and Underflavored This is not quite what I was expecting. They don't have their prices posted so there's no clue what something costs without asking. I ordered the #10, two burritos with beans and rice with a horchata. It came out to just under $19. That seemed high but I went with it. There were a few people waiting for their food, wait but good food is worth waiting for. When i got my meal, it looked just as expected. Unfortunately, there was very little flavor. Based on other taquerias I've been to, I expected more flavor. Even the Horchata seemed to lack something. If I had read the reviews prior to going, I would not have. It seems a little sad that the owner responds with personal attacks when a bad review is left.

Never again im I going here made me wait 25 minutes for my order and then charge me $20 per plate supposed to be a dish with three meats fajita style and I get one slice of meat one half of a sausage and half a chicken breast for $20 that's crazy I told her and she told me yeah a personal order but yet the picture they have is a bis plate and amounts I even asked if they had an order for 2 like the picture she said no anywhere else you get that for $36 with good amounts of meat guess I learned my lesson.

So to be clear for the owner, I actually had lunch at your restaurant today and I 100% regretting it... But thanks for trying to gaslight me! You just lost all your service stars... I had the torta. It was a solid pass. Basically all bread with very little meat and even less beans or lettuce. Also it took forever to get a basic sandwich after I ordered. I asked for salsa and got some kind of hot sauce in a tiny cup, even after in told them I did not want hot sauce ("Do you want hot sauce? NO But if you have salsa that would be great"). Finally and the real killer, everything had no taste.

Tuesday 06/27/2023 I visited on my morning break 7:00 am. ordered 2 steak tacos Got half way back to my job open my tray up, too find that my steak was cooked and heated from a couple of days ago seem like, from the dark coloration of the meat, very hard. Been there before couple of times never had this experience. Don't feel comfortable being served old meat. It had no life In it left..... Call and told the lady over the phone would be returning for refund at 10 am lunch break.
