Fantastic Mexican food with authentic cowboy charm! 🤠 I had a wonderful experience at El Asadero Mexican Grill! The food is absolutely delicious—you can really taste the love and tradition in every dish. This is a family-owned restaurant founded by the Delgado Brothers, who wanted to bring the authentic flavors of their Mexican home to New Jersey . Everything is cooked over an open flame, which gives the food that perfect smoky, charred flavor . The atmosphere is so cool—it's cowboy themed with handcrafted wooden chairs, artisanal tiles, and pottery all imported from Mexico . There are even horse and bull statues for photos! It's vibrant, lively, and makes you feel like you've stepped into a rustic Mexican hacienda. Service was excellent too—friendly and attentive. If you go, I highly recommend the birria tacos with consommé for dipping (they're a crowd favorite!) . Save room for dessert—the flan is supposedly some of the best in the state ! Great food, cool theme, wonderful service. What more could you want? I'll definitely be back!

I recently tried a local Tex-Mex spot and it definitely hit the mark for comfort food with bold flavor. From the moment the food came out, you could smell the mix of grilled meats, spices, and fresh tortillas. The queso was creamy and perfectly seasoned—honestly the kind you keep dipping into even when you’re already full. The tacos were the highlight for me. The meat was juicy, well-seasoned, and paired perfectly with fresh toppings like cilantro, onion, and a squeeze of lime. The rice and beans tasted homemade, not like an afterthought, which I always appreciate. Service was friendly and the vibe was relaxed, making it a great place to hang out with friends or grab a casual dinner. If you’re craving hearty Tex-Mex flavors, this spot is definitely worth checking out. ⭐ Overall: 8.5/10 — great flavors, generous portions, and a laid-back atmosphere.

El Asadero Mexican Grill in Rochelle Park is truly a hidden gem. From the moment you walk in, you feel the warmth of a genuine family-run restaurant where hospitality is not just a gesture but a way of life. The atmosphere is lively, welcoming, and filled with the comforting energy of a place that clearly cares about its guests. Every server we encountered was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, making the experience feel personal and relaxed. A special touch was the owner stopping by our table to greet us and ask about the food, which speaks volumes about the pride and love poured into this restaurant. The food itself was outstanding, with generous portions that leave you satisfied and eager to return. Even more impressive are the prices, which are incredibly reasonable for the quality and quantity you receive. It is rare to find a place that combines authentic flavor, heartfelt service, and affordability so seamlessly. If you are looking for delicious Mexican cuisine in a warm, family-owned setting where you feel truly welcomed, El Asadero Mexican Grill is a must-visit. Highly recommended.

Service was great, food was awesome too and the hospitality! Carlos and Maria helped celebrate my brother’s birthday and we all hit it off well! They make you feel right at home and I highly recommend this place. 10/10 best food place you can try in Jersey!

Best atmosphere of any restaurant in New Jersey. Tons of fun. Great horses outside and saddles inside. Great service. Live music inside. Food was fresh and in large quantities. My only complaint was that it was a bit bland. There were many Gringos like myself there, as well as Mexican Americans dining. I assume that maybe they bland down some of the gringo food, like chicken fajitas, and the more traditional Mexican foods are more flavorful. It would be worth asking the waitstaff which are the more authentic dishes to order.

Finally made my way to El Asadero this past Saturday night. I heard so many great things about this restaurant and was excited to go. To say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. The ambience was amazing! From the outside Christmas decor to the Mexican culture interior. Food was amazing as I ordered the Asadero steak with rice and beans. The drinks were also amazing as I ordered a margarita and a couple of great shots of tequila. I was also able to meet the owner and discussed his journey to creating this great atmosphere. I will definitely be returning very soon!

Came for a holiday party and everything was great! It was buffet and had a mixture or meats and rice / pasta. 10/10 for the jarrito drink. Everyone was asking what it was because presentation was so good but drink was equally as good!

My husband and I have become quite the regulars at this location. It’s on our way in from work and we tend to stop by often on nights cooking dinner is out of the question. The food is great as well as the vibes. A special shoutout to our server, Jose, who happens be our server often since we like to booth sections. He is always delivering the highest level of attention you can hope to get a restaurant. Thank you so much Jose !!! You deserve a raise ☺️ @management 🤣. Don’t think about it give this restaurant a try.

This spot on New Rochelle, NJ is great for large groups and kids. Service was a bit slow but the food was terrific. Great options for drinks: beer, tequila, and Micheladas. The places has an authentic Mexican feel to it thanks to it’s spectacular decor. Beautiful tribute to Dias Della Muertos. All the staff speak Spanish but can also speak English well. I had a mango sherbert for dessert which was unique for the tajin seasoning on it which I found to be strange but it didn’t spoil it. If you’re looking for quality Mexican food for your family, look no further.

Everything is great but be careful with the tips.20% is pre-added, but when you pay,the terminal is going to ask you again if you want to pay tips. If you didn’t pay attention on the previous page. You would think you didn’t pay for tips.

We were driving up the highway and saw this place off to the side. We travel all over the country and I’ve never ever seen a place with this much decor and ambience. The entire parking lot was filled. with what I guess you would call Decker or authentic Mexican memorabilia. So we actually took a 5 mile detour to get here and it was absolutely amazing. And when I say, we have never been to a place like this even out in the Midwest, we mean it. We came here on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at about 1 PM. Diego and the rest of the bar staff were absolutely amazing. The menu is extensive with all different options and very good portions. Our meal was excellent. The place is very clean. Even the bathrooms are spotless. I can’t even begin to explain the atmosphere in here, you could walk around for 10 minutes, looking at all the memorabilia and decorations all over the place. Apparently they have four locations, but we stopped here and we are going to come back even though it’s over an hour drive from our house. They have mariachi bands on Sunday afternoon and many different specials so look up the menu. .

A very enjoyable purveyor for Mexican food. My first visit here, we had Broiled red Snapper, fish tacos and a shrimp burito. All were very tasty. Service is very good with no complaints. Ambiance is a fun atmosphere and plenty of photo-ops with props. Check it out!

My friends and I just happened to come across this restaurant after visiting the Paramus Park Mall. Upon entering the parking lot, you sort of feel transported to Mexico as you hear the music playing and take in all the decorations. The atmosphere was festive as there were lots of people wearing western cowboy/cowgirl attire after participating in the nearby Memorial Day parade. There were live, beautiful horses prancing around the area as if they were dancing to the music. My friends and I played along and got caught up in the festive environment. Now to the food. We had the large guacamole which consisted of 3 hass avocados made right in front of us with warm homemade tortilla chips which were delicious. My friends and I were betting each other as to how much the guac would cost due how expensive avocados are now. We all predicted below the $27.00 that was charged. The roasted pineapple margaritas at $30.00 each were delicious and strong enough to help us not feel the pain of the overcharge. For dinner I had the fillet red snapper with the lobster tail. The fish was tasty and well cooked, but I feel that the lobster was a bit overcooked giving it a rubbery feel. Both my friends had the baby back ribs which was very tasty and tender. Both stated that the french fries were not good. Overall, I would rate El Asadero a 4 because my friends and I had a great time, but I think that was mostly due to the music and strong margaritas. I didn't appreciate the automatically added 20% gratuity which added another $51.00 to our bill especially when the service deserved no more than 15%.

Came here for the first time and really enjoyed the atmosphere. It was super lively and energetic but the quality of food didn’t match the vibe. Service was great. I ordered the pastor tacos and thought they were super super greasy and lacked some flavor. My husband had the steak burrito and liked it but felt it was pricey. The complimentary chips and salsa are actually really good. The bar area is filled with tvs and looks fun for happy hour. I’d come back and try other food options. Also note they automatically include a 20% gratuity on the check.

1. We ordered 2 pints of draft beer of different kinds - the smell from the old, unclean kegs were so prominent. We ended up not drinking them . Do NOT drink draft from here 2. Foods were too salty. To a point that it was inedible. My family ended up leaving more than half of the food due to pure saltiness of dishes - ALL of them 3. They include automatic 20% gratuity at the end - which kinda leaves a bad taste after the meal. It is not like I do not tip people. It is borderline insulting . Having said that. Atmosphere is good. Service is good. The food could match the vibe. And that 20% gratuity - i mean come on. If I am being really frank - the service did not deserve 20%. This is the first restaurant in NJ who did to me without prior notification - and I have been living here more than 10 years now

Went here for brunch with my man and it was just OK. The tacos weren’t what I expected , tasteless the chicken was flavorless 3/10, but the flavor was nothing special. I’ve definitely had better. The tostones were ok 6/10 Also, the lady taking pictures needs to learn customer service. After she took our photos, I called out to her, saying “excuse me,” but she acted like she didn’t hear me. Then she came back with the pictures already printed, assuming I was going to buy them. Why print them without showing me first? When I addressed her, she stayed quiet 🤫 seriously lol Overall, the service was average, the food was bland, and the only real highlight was the scenery. I wouldn’t come back.

This is my second time at Asadero and both times, service was terrible. We were seated and drink orders were taken quickly, then it became incredibly difficult to get service. The first time I assumed was a fluke, but after the most recent trip, I am incredibly hesitant to go back. We saw our server 5, maybe 6 times in over an hour. We wanted to ask for more chips and waited 5-10 minutes trying to get someone's attention. When we finally saw our server and asked, we didn't receive them until we asked someone else. It was not busy at all and 2 tables came and left before we were done. Not once did they check on us during the meal. We actually wanted to order more food because it's quite good, but after another 10 minutes we decided we did not want to be here anymore and simply wanted the check, which again we had to wait for. To add insult to injury, they automatically add a 20% tip, and then have the audacity to ask for an additional percentage, I think the options were 3%, 5%, or 8% additional, or Custom. I have to imagine some servers will take advantage of knowing they will receive an automatic 20% tip regardless of their service. The food here is very good, as is the price, especially Happy Hour. But the service both times was just abysmal. I am a pushover and will let a lot slide, but this was one of the most infuriating dining experiences of my life. The Contact Us form on the website is also only for reservations so I was not even able to leave them feedback directly. Asadero, please feel free to reach out to me and I would be happy to share the exact details of my visit. As I said, the food is delicious, the atmosphere is nice, but the experience was terrible

The food is great in this restaurant, the Guacamole is made on the the place and really fresh. What ruins the experience - the bill automatically includes 20% tip (we were two dinners) and there was an option to add additional tip when signing on the portable credit card device. It’s one thing that the restaurant decides on 20% mandatory tip (which takes the option out of the hands of the customers), asking additional tip on that seems quiet outrageous and borderline scam.

First off—we asked for the check at the end of our meal and did not receive one. My husband was simply handed a tablet with a total on it and then a question to add tip (no check to tell him that tip was already included). So shady. Reporting them to the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs now. Terrible Birria tacos. I got them with cheese but the cheese was oaxaca cheese that barely melted—it turned into big thick chewy chunks. The tortillas were not even dipped in the birria sauce like they’re supposed to be, no melty cheese on the inside holding the meat in place/tortilla folded. The tortilla was toasted so much that it was crunchy. Just bad. We also had an order of table side guacamole and elotes as our appetizers and they were ok. Nothing special, lots of lime flavor and nothing else. My husband had the pulled pork tacos and he said they were good.
