Opinions de Joe Bean Coffee Roasters Rochester
Favorite coffee shop to meet with clients bc the atmosphere is great and can speak at a good volume without people listening in. Coffee is good too, I always get Latte with Maple syrup in it. I like more sweeter taste
Best Coffee shop in Rochester hands down! Fresh Roasted... Made an art of a simple drink. I'll gladly buy from people who take what they do so seriously. Keep it up! I won't drink anything else now after having this!.
We stopped in for a drink after a trip to the lake. It was quiet for a Saturday night, but this is Park Ave Festival weekend, so not surprising. The staff are delightful and the selection of beers and wines is excellent.
If you are a coffee geek or want to experience coffee on a another level this is the place to go. They typically have 3 coffee and 2 espresso beans to choose from. On top of that, there are several brewing methods you can select from. The staff Is incredibly knowledgeable and happy to answer questions to help you brew better at home.
The vibe in here rules. Kind, attentive and real staff. The coffee is on another level. Also had a wild good Cookie and snagged a 4 pack of cold brew to go. Pro tip: the 4 pack is a crazy better unit price.
Classy bar serving coffee, cocktails, beer and wine! A great place to meet friends! Also, completely fair trade certified, working with individual coffee farmers to help their businesses grow.
Can't find enough words to say how much we LOVE LOVE LOVE Joe Bean's! We drive a long way out of our way to visit them and buy coffee. The Mexican Decaf is just heavenly. The Ethiopian? Superlative! Dark Chocolate Roast? To die for!
Joe Bean needs to be at the top of your list for places to visit in Rochester,NY. They are brilliant & creative . Their coffee, bar & select food items are exceptional . Recently mentioned in USA today for bringing the first public "parklet" to Rochester . Try their "Sprobomb " Beer with a shot of espresso :)
The BEST coffee in roc. Breakfast options are delightful. The Shaken cold brew is a specialty here but they are absolute on the Tails of every great brew house in NYC and PDX
Great tasting coffee... Amazing staff ... Cool spot ... Pour over style coffee, so takes a little longer to get a to go cup... Great spot to meet up with friends/ family... Other interesting businesses nearby
Nice vibe , good lighting, friendly staff, great coffee. Emphasis on denoting the providence and flavor of their roasts and providing tools to let customers brew at home. Really enjoyed it.
Been getting our coffee here for some time now. Healthier made and great tasting. The folks are super nice with a great atmosphere.
Amazing coffee shop! Katie was wonderful and knew her coffees! The pastriami sandwich is also fantastic. You must go if you're a coffee lover!!
Amazing coffee! Fantastic beer and wine selection, and great food. Brunch is a must -- 11am to 3pm every Saturday and Sunday.
OK, this is MUCH better. Single origin espresso from Mexico....served with a glass of water (thank you). Roasted on the dark side but not burnt and reasonably fresh. Machine is a hand cranked 3 head La Victoria Arduino. Roasting on site, free cuppings in "the lab". Hipster vibe but not too pretentious.....hey, it's still Rochester, NY. :-)
Best coffee place in the city, hands down. Their roasts are very fragrant and the coffee is delicious, the vibe in this place is really relaxed and the new kitchen addition is putting out tasty food
Best coffee in the city. Be prepared, they won't ask you to pay right away. They'll take your order and bring it to you when it's ready. Fantastic location. Great baristas. The view is nice as well. Great place for a business meeting.
As a coffee professional (Coffee QC Mgr and certified Q Grader) I can say they have quality coffee and they know how to prepare it properly (ask for a pour over). Didn't know there was a specialty roaster in Rochester until my brother found them and I'm very glad he did. Now I've somewhere to go whenever I visit
I loved my visit here. I tried three different coffees, an espresso and to Hario pour-overs, and the pastrami sandwich. The espresso was impressive, it's hard to pull a shot that tasty, it requires good fresh beans to start with, and from there, you need to both dial in all the equipment, and also really know what you're doing. The pour over was also good, as you could identify notes from different beans as being distinct from one another (I had two different types of beans in two cups). Sandwich was also good, and I'd probably try the udon next time. Another note, this place was good for sitting down with a laptop and working for a couple of hours. (I made sure not to mooch, and ordered enough.)
Best coffee around ☕ the location is a bit tucked away, but easy parking. You can see all their equipment for roasting beans and canning. The staff are really nice, there's no wifi so you have to either spend your data or socialize 😆
Great atmosphere. Coffee is exceptional. They don't offer cream/ half n half for coffee, only milk which always leaves a strange taste. The spro bombs are always a treat. Like their new tables and chairs
Great place to enjoy a thoughtfully prepared and delicious cup of coffee. The staff is extremely knowledgable and well versed in the various brewing methods. I have thoroughly enjoyed every cup of coffee I have had there and recommend it to anyone who wants a real coffee.
Coffee is exceptional. The people are very friendly and informative about exactly how and why they brew the coffee the way they do. Inviting and modern. The drinks are a little more $$ but they were well worth the extra to actually have a great cup of Joe.
Very nice place on the side of the Artisan’s building. Don’t waste your money at the place across the street. These guys are the real deal. Coffee is smooth and delicious! Highly recommend!
Skip the Starbucks and come here to experience coffee the way it is supposed to be prepared. Onsite roasting, and perfect pour overs will allow you to enjoy coffee the way it was intended. Best coffee place in Rochester, hands down.
I have just recently started visiting Joe beans in the past months, i love knowing a local roastary takes great pride in producing quality, great tasting specialty coffee. The service is excellent and the baristas really know there coffee, just ask. I recommend this coffee house to everyone whom I talk about coffee with, and let's just say I meet a lot of coffee lovers, I myself am a barista but i work for a bigger coffee shop, so This isn't the only place I drink coffee but, it sure is great having an amazing cup of coffee freshly made the right way.
This is a roaster where you can stop in to get a cappuccino. So smooth you don't need to sweeten it! Offers subscriptions to people who want to buy roasted beans.
Outstanding coffee and atmosphere. I go at least once every time I'm in Rochester. Always buy a pound of green beans for home roasting. One of the best coffee shops anywhere!
perhaps a little too-overrated as being masters of coffee, but compared to any non-afficionado locale, these people know their stuff. If you're looking for anything more than mediocre to terrible, chain coffee shop, or even more than nice local shop with pretty good coffee, but short of getting to roast your own beans and hand-grind into your chemex, pour over, or cold brew, this is definitely the place for you. Helping to get people into the passion of more truly, do-it-yourself coffee. Keep up the good work!
Joe Bean is a gorgeous setting with delicious coffee. The chemex I got was served with a fun, small cup & tasted smooth. This was my first time back since they expanded & I loved it!
Absolutely delicious. AMAZING service, and very intelligent baristas. The food was sublime, LOVED every bite. Wonderful atmosphere, definitely a must visit when in Rochester. I will DEFINITELY be back!
If you need whole bean coffee in the Rochester area, Joe Bean offers some of the best. They feature a seasonally rotating selection of directly sourced coffees, and tend towards a modern, light roast style. The store carries a small selection of Hario and Fellow brewing equipment. While not a full featured cafe, they have a little coffee counter where you can get an excellent drip coffee or espresso drink.
I think I really need to start a subscription from this place. I do wish they were open on weekends but I think they do that because of the location maybe. But the coffee from here is always excellent. The freshness of the beans are always ideal as I run a espresso machine at home.
Joe Bean is my favorite coffee spot. The staff are friendly, attentive, and always courteous. The food is inventive, reasonably priced, and always delicious. And the coffee, well, they're pretty much responsible for the entire third wave coffee revolution in town. And for that, I am eternally grateful. I've transitioned from expecting a "burnt bean" taste, from corporate coffee shops, to discovering a bouquet of flavors from the many different beans Joe Bean’s roasts and showcases. They truly are an innovative eatery and I always look forward to trying dishes from their ever changing, seasonally based menu and delicious coffee.
A surprising experience as out of towners. The pour over we had was impressive and the coffee bar atmosphere was nice for people on computers like us or others chatting. It felt like a Chicago or NYC spot with the high top tables and dark wood and brass. Definitely recommend it as a place to have a decent coffee and hang out for a bit. Only heads up is that the food menu is limited. Good but limited.
The shop is more of a roaster and coffee equipment place but do have a limited selection of drinks that can be made. The beans are great and the employees are very knowledgeable on the whole process. Would recommend any coffee enthusiasts to go check it out.
Joe bean is a wonderful coffee shop to spend either alone reading or with a group of friends catching up. The atmosphere is peaceful and warm. Lots of plants and windows. Seating has a good variety of high and low chairs. The coffee is wonderful with a list to choose from beans and brewing method. Food menu is slowly growing. Not too many yummy options for non coffee drinkers. A few beers to choose from including a gluten free beer! Staff is wonderful and very knowledgeable. There are beans and other items you can purchase.
Went to Joe Beans last night around 930. Not much of a coffee drinker, but definitely enjoy a cup here and there. The man working was super informative and went through all the different variations with us in detail. I was super impressed, and he nailed the explanation. For me, it was like listening to Darwin explain his theory on evolution, very mesmerizing! I ended up with a latte and my girlfriend a cappuccino. The flavor was excellent. Highly recommend giving this little coffee shop your business. You will not be let down.
Excellent roaster and espresso bar with an airy plant filled seating area that really takes advantage of the unique building. Top roaster in the city I've found for single blends. Hidden a bit but totally worth it - support your local small business that makes world class coffee.
Walked in here without any expectations and came to really appreciate the employees' love and fascination for coffee. They know their stuff. The coffee I had was an Ethiopian grind in an aeropress and it was deep and rich. For the price and the atmosphere, couldn't go wrong with it! And most certainly I will be bringing my wife here for a date. It's a nice place to chill. I will be coming back!
Best coffee shop I've been to since I moved to New York. Such a relaxed environment and you can tell they put a lot of effort into a quality product and experience. The coffee there is amazing and so much more than just a caffeine fix. I will definitely be going there again.
Your Whole Latte Love - Crema Wave is amazing! I've tasted hundred of coffee beans, nothing can compare! Very consistent over the years! Is there a similar blend that you sell at Joe Bean Roasters?
This is what the movement of really high-level coffee experience should really be all about. I cannot compare it to any other latte I've had in Rochester. This alone puts Joe Bean as the best coffee in town in my opinion - Ugly Duck, Glen Edith, Fuego, Coffee Connection, etc., I'm looking at you!I liked Joe Bean on the one occasion I got to visit their former location on University Avenue, and in some respects,
The very best coffee place in Rochester. The baristas are all so friendly and knowledgeable. They offer different beans daily and customer is provided information on the different bean offerings as well as preparation methods. Also the cheese board here is life, that with a cold brew is my summer jam!
Great coffee. Good atmosphere. We showed up at the tail end of brunch hours on a Saturday and we ate. The food was quite good, and the menu consists of off the beaten path renditions of common brunch fare. The coffee was great but the menu is a little tricky to understand and had me fumbling with the wait staff to figure out actually what we could order. Maybe they were in the middle of switching coffees or something, I couldn't say, but I had the choice between two coffees for pourover (one blend and one single origin) at a roastery. I found that to be a little odd--especially as they had so many I wanted to try! I left with two bags of great coffee and a full stomach so really I can't say anything bad about the experience. The Don Roger I got has made phenomenal espresso shots and makes me want to go back ASAP.
Was bummed when their actual coffee shop closed, but recently started going back to buy coffee from them.. so glad I did! They only have one decaf most times (COLOMBIA AZAHAR DECAF), but it's really good. I like it hot well enough - but the way I really like it is brewed double strength, cooled down, then served as an iced coffee in the afternoon. It's rich and luscious and none of that weird burnt taste or missing center notes taste to get from a lot of decafs.. I swear I get a little buzz!!
Excellent coffee, well prepared. The espresso was dialed in exactly, the milk steamed to a perfect microfoam without too much heat. There's a lot of know-how behind the bar. While the service is a little slower than I'm used to. The quality blows blue bottle, intelli, grumpy, and the rest of the larger 3rd wave shops out of the water.
The perfect, close knit coffee and espresso experience in greater Rochester area. Groovy modern-meets-rustic atmosphere makes this a great place for conversation, or to simply sit, sip, and dive into a book. It is my sincere hope that the bar-side of business never disappears <3
Incredible coffee! No drip coffee... each coffee is made to order: chemex, hario V60, clever, (and of course espresso)... They moved locations and no longer do food but their coffee by the bag and made-to-order cups are still the best around. They also now offer a more economical line of blends that are still fantastic.
As far as I know, the best coffee spot in all of Rochester. Choose your bean, choose your preparation. The shaken cold brew is my favorite. Rotating-ish menu of delicious food available as well. Get in early, it's popular on the weekends.
Absolutely the best coffee in town and the customer service is unbeatable. I love the weekly subscription model. It's so easy to use, adjust as your needs change, and pick up. It's one of my favorite weekly rituals to grab my bag and a cup of coffee.
Best coffee beans in Rochester. No coffee roaster comes even close to what Joe Bean produces in terms of quality and consistency.
Joe Bean is the best in Monroe County and I would put their coffee up against anyone in the state. They are obsessed with coffee from farm to cup and it shows. They have won several good food awards and if you are pulling shots at home or pour over, there is simply no other choice. If you are doing drip, or cold brew, I'm not sure it's worth the price, simply because it's hard to separate good from great with those brew methods. But for espresso, no contest.
Excellent speciality coffee and has become my go-to roaster. I appreciate how they rotate their beans. Many roasters will use out of season beans, resulting in a stale cup. The beans are always roasted evenly and to perfection. I don't mind paying extra for ethically sourced, quality coffee.
Myriad varieties of outstanding coffee that is roasted in house, and if that wasn’t enough they serve great coffee too. In my opinion, likely the best coffee available in Rochester. Overall, it’s a great local business.
I’ve been a regular since they opened their old location on University, but stopped going as frequently after I had my kids and the space morphed more into a dinner/bar scene. Now with their re-focus on coffee, I feel comfortable taking the little ones again! Love their casual new space where you can watch them roasting and feel comfortable hanging out as long as you’d like. And of course the coffee is, as always, the best in town.
The coffee shop most coffee shops want to be or wish they were Excellent selection of in house roasted beans offered up to brew in various methods. These guys were doing pour-over way before the rest of the world caught on Attentive staff, great ambiance and generous portions Best coffee house in Rochester
Great coffee and espresso! The pour over and cold brew are excellent. It's a local favorite and one of the first artisan coffee shops in Rochester. They've recently expanded (Sept-Oct 2016) so there is more seating space for customers. A must try for anyone visiting the area that likes coffee and a great place to make your regular spot if you live in the area.
My wife, son, and I all got iced coffee and it was the best iced coffee I've ever had. It was our first time at Joe Bean so we chatted up several of the staff and they were all super nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. We also bought a bag of coffee beans for our French press at home and enjoyed it greatly. We'll definitely be back.
Great selection of rare coffee finds, but not the type of place to sit and work. Definitely a must try if you consider yourself a coffee connoisseur looking for an exotic blend.
Great coffees carefully selected and skillfully roasted. Great selection. Just miss their old place - But I can understand concentrating on their core mission- Great Coffee!
Joe Bean has really great coffee and espresso, no doubt, but this joint is more upscale than my simple college student needs. The menu is on small boards by the register that list the brews, which can make figuring out the pricing before ordering difficult. I was taken aback that instead of paying for my coffee right away, a tab was opened for me (a tab that did not take my card? Different from any bar I've been to). The selection of food is very small but is meant to be paired with either the coffee or alcohol. The lighting is quite dim (although to be fair it was dark and rainy the day I went), with no power outlets away from the bar, so not a place to sit and study for a while unless your laptop is fully charged. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable; there's plenty of parking on the side of the building.
Joe Beans was really the first of 3rd wave coffee in the area. When I was taking it pour over, they were the only ones who knew when I moved here. Originally better in community than roasting, that flipped over time. Their temp closed store front stared serving better food and excellent beers that were unusual. Customer service varies by employee. However Adam was always one of the lights. Janine begins the scenes helped keep the roasting going and is still doing the thing. Worth going to, though I still miss the even more community feel which I'm sure came from Kathy Turino.
Continues to deliver a good espresso in Rochester, although there is now more competition. I also really like their weekend brunch (they tend to be packed during that time) and the shrub drinks (very refreshing in the summer).
I decided to go for a coffee flight and a chocolate flight while at Joe Bean. The baristas are clearly attentive to detail and want to ensure a good experience for the client. The brewing process is succinct, the workers hospitable, and the ambiance pleasant. Above all, everything was delicious. I'm not often in Rochester, so when I visit I usually only visit one or two places for coffee. Joe Bean just moved to my #1 preference. I can't wait to return. Edit: Dropping one star as I've been sitting for 35 minutes waiting for a coffee.
Posting because other reviews were misleading. I ubered here to get a coffee and a few hours of work done before heading to the airport. Images in other reviews show tables and chairs. I walked in today with my suitcase in tow and there is not a single place to sit, like not a single chair or table. I am sure the coffee/food is fine, but just be aware you will not be able to sit and enjoy your coffee in their store.
The Black Hawk is one of the highest quality espresso machines on the market. The espresso it has the potential to produce with the trained hand of an experienced barista is a quite the wonderful experience, drawing out the complexities of the bean at perfect temperature. Joe Bean offers the experience your looking for if you’re a serious espresso drinker or just appreciate quality coffee served in an creative atmosphere decorated with live plants and fun mural. The older drawback is the kitchen being recently closed(permanently I think). Would have given five stars if my stomach wasn’t empty.
The coffee is the best in town, the service is wonderful, staff is very nice, chocolate sample on the stone slab is amazing. BUT! don’t ever order anything from their breakfast menu. All 3 plates we ordered were terrible. Worst food we had ever eaten at the restaurants and we are foodies. Even pancake which usually can’t go wrong is un-rdible to our palate. we promise ourselve not to ever eat breakfast:brunch there anymore. The Fried yucca is good as long as you add salt on it.
I love this place but last night was not the best. The band was slow to play, there was not seating for more than two at once and it was just not what we expected. I brought out of town guests and we left after a short time sadly. This place had great wine and great coffee so I was disappointed last night.
Can easily be considered in Rochester's top 3 places for coffee. I would rate higher but for every really good experience I've had I've also had the bad experience of being looked down on for not being a coffee expert. Some staff was very kind while others were a bit elitist about coffee.
After living amongst the excellent array of Nashville coffee shops for three years, I frequented Joe Bean for a couple weeks after moving to Rochester and found it subpar in its product and service. The service is generally pretentious and smug, and the care taken to create their product regrettably doesn't produce anything special. Save your time and money, and go to Glen Edith or Fuego. The employees are simply more pleasant to interact with, and you'll leave happier overall.
As frequent customers and great advocates in the past, we have seen a change in joe beans as they push towards a more inclusive dining experience rather than a coffee bar. Although the change certainly broadens the appeal and scope of the establishment, I feel some of the genuinity has been lost. Joe beans does, in my opinion, still have the beat coffee in Rochester.
UPDATE: After the owner responded to my original review, I have added another star to my review for two reasons: 1. Kathy's response was prompt and sincere and that's what customer service is all about and 2. I have no interest in hurting a well-intentioned small business with a two star review when there is plenty of good things going on there. Kathy, thank you for your offer. I appreciate it, but I'm not going to take you up on it. If I but a ticket to a movie and don't end up liking it, I don't think I'm owed anything. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I like coffee. Alot. I know more about which coffees I like and why than the average coffee drinker. But then there's the next level of understanding coffee as a science that I'm not quite at. Which is why I have to approach this review of Rochester's Joe Bean from two sides. On one hand, Joe Bean is expensive, isn't that rewarding a coffee experience and opens too late in the morning (9 a.m. when I was there) to be of any real use as a coffee place. On the other hand, it's a quirky, independent, (perhaps unnecessarily frustrating) nerdy deep dive into coffee. Like I said, I know a good deal about the subject, but there's always the chance I wasn't nuts about the place because some of it was over my head. Doubtful, but I'm putting that out there for consideration. The staff is nice, but clearly either don't know as much about the coffee as the menu implies it would (guests pick their coffee and their brewing method, all of which are supposed to have subtle, yet discernable effects upon the finished brewed cup of coffee and none of which is discernable from the menu alone) or is simply tired of explaining the source material, which is a shame, because it is precisely this type of insight and technique that the Joe Bean business is built around. I have tried three types of coffee in several different brewing methods and found each cup to be a disappointment. Frankly, I get a richer, fuller coffee experience from Dunkin' Donuts or Starbucks for half the cost (typically $2 compared to Joe Bean's $4 brew). The coffee is served in a glass decanter with a small glass... let's call it a cup. Here's the problem: I like my coffee hot. Really hot. And glass is not the best insulator as compared to, say, ceramics. In these uninsulated glass decanters and cups, the coffee cools too quickly for my taste. I'm sure there are coffee science wonks out there who say that certain flavor profiles develop at certain temperatures and that everyone else is wrecking the subtlety and nuance of their coffee by overheating it, but too bad, that's how I like coffee. Which brings me to my last, petty needling against Joe Bean: strength. The coffee is weak. At $4 a cup compounded by the fancy brewing options led me to expect (or rather I always expect) a deep, dark, rich, plumbing-the-depths-of-the-abyss coffee experience. In this respect, Joe Bean certainly does not deliver. The coffees were weak and watery, even those coffees from regions traditionally known for rich and dark coffees. Honestly, each cup may just need more coffee grounds. On the complimentary side, Joe Bean is a nice place. The menu looks good and the food offerings are reasonably (ish) priced. What I saw come out of the kitchen looked better than good. Go there. Check it out for yourself. As for me, Joe Bean just wasn't what I hoped it would be.
We found Joe Bean from their Verified Venue listing on Untappd. Judging by the well curated beer selection, their small but excellent home-roasted varietal coffee selection and choice of brewing methods, and an eclectic dinner menu, we were very excited to have dinner here. Our beer choices were very nice, with choices from Jack's Abby, Mikkeller, Voodoo, and other excellent craft choices. All served well. Coffee was outstanding. I was thrilled to see Brewing choices from Hario pour-over to syphon. Great stuff. Unfortunately, our dinners were awful. Every entrée was poorly prepared, exacerbated by waiting a very long time for them. The two servings of gnocchi at our table were under-done, with most of the gnocchi being raw in the middle. My salad was missing key ingredients (e.g., almonds), and the felafel on my wife's Mediterranean plate was also undercooked. Given the nature of the place we were incredibly surprised and disappointed. Our server was great and did his best to make things right. We will, however, not be back here for a meal.
It’s more of a commercial shop w/ a small section to order a cup of joe? No seating - unless I missed something entirely. Also, I don’t need my latte sweetened but the fact they did not have any to offer any was peculiar to me. The employee wasn’t too friendly either. I will say is was a well balanced & rounded latte though(:
Google didn't update their hours of operation. Drive there for nothing. It was a 45 minute drive.
The service and ambiance was nice, but the jamon flatbread I ordered tasted like rancid oil. The other ingredients had no flavor really, so I was just overwhelmed by the awful taste of rancid oil. I couldn't finish it, and it was by far the worst meal I've had at a restaurant in all my memory. I felt bad to not like it because the people working there seem so lovely.
Almost laughably pretentious coffee shop. They're so busy trying to keep up the image of being a hipster cafe that the product and service go lacking. I ordered an Americano and was presented with a tiny cup about 1/3 full, perhaps 2 ounces of liquid. Thinking they'd mistakenly given me just an espresso shot, I asked and was told that it was correct. After I got them to add more hot water it was an okay beverage, but come on. According to Wikipedia this technically qualifies as an Americano but is certainly not what one expects in America.
Based on my recent experience here, this is a good place to go for drinks and friendly service, but a horrible place to go to for food. For drinks we tried the beer, hot coffee, and hot tea. They w're all excellent and perfectly prepared. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating. As for the food, it was terrible. My husband and I both ordered the gnocchi, one with meatballs and the other with fried tofu. The only edible part of the meal was the meatballs since my gnocchi was still raw and my husband's was completely undercooked. The sauce that it is served with is also not very flavorful. The other two people in our party ordered the falafel, which was bland and also undercooked, and a salad, which was missing multiple ingredients. The apologetic server did offer to have the gnocchi meals made again, but due to time constraints we declined that option. He then decided to comp all of our meals and we were only charged for our drinks. Overall, it was a mediocre place. There are other places that offer tastier teas and coffees that aren't much farther away. This isn't a place I would return to.
Not a cafe. A coffee shop yes. I asked if they were remodeling because the cafe showed in the photos did not exist.
Coffee was cold but had an elegant taste. Servers were nice and polite but never asked for cream or sugar. The menu lacked prices and variety. Cute place and great music.
The coffee was absolutely wonderful, in fact it was one of the best cappuccinos I've had. But the experience was completely ruined while sitting beside three "off-duty" baristas who were hanging out, talking with the staff and making fun of the many customers who have come in and not known about coffee as well as they did. My wife and I left wondering if we ordered our coffee 'properly' or if we would be the butt of the barista jokes for the night.
Unfortunately, had to cancel my subscription. When you do get good coffee beans, the coffee is fantastic. Sadly, there’s often times you get a bad batch and the coffee is just Awful. Tried to resolve with no avail😞
Arrived at 12:30 and the shop was fairly empty. Neither barista welcomed us, we had to get our own menu, and waited a full twenty minutes before asking for service. We were told, "we have these customers to wait on first" despite the fact that we had arrived BEFORE said customers. Additionally, one barista had spend 20 of the 25 minutes talking to what appeared to be friends before going over to help barista 2 with the customers who'd arrived after us. Sad that we wanted to patronize a local place but were not welcomed. Clearly, we were not "hipster" enough for these two young men.
Cold overpriced latte. Bad service and unremarkable business in general. I've been to plenty nice coffee shops that are nationally known for their coffee and expertise and they weren't nearly so full of themselves. Sorry, get over yourselves and focus on being a nicer, more customer focused business.
The food was way over priced. The portion size was really small. I ordered a wild greens salad, there was no hominy corn in it just yellow sweet corn . The dressing was bitter and the drink I ordered was not delivered, a substitute was brought and it was warm. I was given a glass with no ice for it. Over all I was very dissatisfied and I will not go back, nor would I recommend that anyone else go there.😤
Coffee is sour and watered down, no place to sit, no creamer out, no choice is size, you only get three choices on the menus, no cup holder for very hot coffee and no napkins. They charge 3.50 for a literal Dixie cup filled with coffee when you can pay 3.50 for a large at Starbucks across the street. The guy at the counter was lovely, that was about it.
