Wonderful brunch menu! The Avocado toast was delicious, bacon was crispy which is always great. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Also this tiny Tabasco bottle came with my friends dish which is super cute. Lol Also try the White Cosmo yum!

Super nice place! Excellent food, less $ than I thought...2 excellent burgers with a side, 2 glasses of wine was $58. I had the wagyu burger, melt in your mouth, good seasoning (little heavy on salt but not bad) and the cook was perfect med rare. My wife had the smash burger and hers was very good as well, huge salad came with hers. Waitstaff was attentive and nice! We ate on the outdoor deck on probably the last night for the season. It was worth it! Very good atmosphere out there!

This was my second time eating there and having Amanda C as my server. Both times she has been the best server and given such great service! She does a wonderful job!! The steak salad is also the best salad I've ever had!

Thick cut bershure pork chop with mac and cheese , baked beans nicely done the chop was cooked perfectly and the naked beans had a little kick to them. The pan seared Salmon was equal delicious. Excellent meal.

I am SO impressed with this place. I made a last minute reservation for a group of 20 and TRATA went above and beyond to make our night incredible. They put us at the community tables (long high tops with bar stools) which was PERFECT for a big group! The community tables are tucked back in a little alcove so it was perfect for our group to be able to move around and talk to everybody. The servers were extremely kind and attentive and took care of our every need before I could think to ask. Food was good and the price was much lower than I expected. I don’t think I can go anywhere else now for a group meal. HIGHLY recommended.

I've always loved the service and drinks at Trata. When I went vegan 2 years ago, it became almost impossible to eat there. Last week, I went with some colleagues and the waiter informed me that they FINALLY added a vegan option to the menu (though it isn't printed on the menu yet). It was a vegan risotto. And it was pretty good and a large portion! That along with a side of fries and the Mexican Artillery cocktail made a great meal. I didn't have to pay, so I can't tell you about the prices. But if you haven't given Trata a try, I say go for it! even if you're vegan.

TRATA is a Rochester restaurant staple. It's been one of the few that has lasted - because they're doing it right. The atmosphere is comfortable, but elevated. I'm not a drinker but the bar area and the beer taps look amazing and popular. You have to try the duck quesadillas. They are AMAZING. Amanda was one of the best waitresses we've had, although I don't think I can remember one negative experience with any servers at this restaurant in the several years we've been going. The rooftop atmosphere is so unique and creates an awesome experience. I typically get their French onion grilled cheese that comes with homemade tomato soup, and the duck quesadillas, and they always hit the spot. Can't go wrong with any choice!

Great food, changing menu, awesome food/beer pairings and lovely service. Had my birthday dinner there and went back for a date night recently and can’t say enough good things. Really cool atmosphere and absolutely love how they did this restaurant. Last time we visited, we decided to share a bunch of appetizers. We got the steam buns, lettuce wraps and fish tacos. The lettuce wraps were the best part. Would recommend those!

Food was great, had a party of 12. Food was cooked perfectly. I would absolutely come here again for a date. All 12 of us got steak and every single one was cooked to perfection.

My first time trying a salmon dish and I'm so glad I picked Trata! I did request it to be cooked a bit more than the standard menu preparation and our server was very helpful with relaying that to the kitchen and answering the questions I had. I can honestly say that I haven't had another salmon dish as good as this yet, and I've tried several since. I will definitely be back, the tough part will be convincing me to order a different dish since this one is so good! 😄

Colby did a phenomenal job with drinks and food orders at the bar for a large group I was with. He was very humorous/sociable. The food was absolutely delicious and the drinks were exemplary. I always drove past this restaurant, and regret not going here sooner. There is ample parking and it's in a good neighborhood. Highly recommend.

This is a great special occasion restaurant, perfect to go to if you're celebrating anything. The ambiance is very cool but cosy, somewhat rustic, which makes it great for drinks with friends or family gatherings. There's nothing I've ever had here that I haven't liked, and I always get their fish tacos. Their salmon is also incredibly flavorful, and so are the veggies they serve it with. Also, if you let the staff know you're there celebrating something like a birthday or graduation, they always bring out this little chocolate fondant dessert for the person being celebrated, candle and all! It is a little more expensive than a casual dining place, but well worth it.

Met a Rochester-local friend who wanted to try TRATA... and I'm so glad she did! It's inside an old, converted factory and has an upscale industrial vibe. Our server was nice enough, but we were catching up and talking a lot... and even though it was a Wednesday evening and there were many open tables... it felt like he was trying to turn the table over. We arrived at the trail end of happy hour and started with the lettuce 🥬 wraps. The ladies then proceeded to the beer 🍺 & wine 🍷 dispenser wall... that's right you can pour your own beer & wine by the ounce using a RFID or NFC card of some kind... PRETTY COOL IDEA! For mains I got the pork belly Bhan MI sandwich & fries. My wife got the way wagu burger 🍔 and Cesar salad 🥗 and our friend got the Nashville chicken sandwich with fries. ALL of the sandwiches were very good... as were the fries. My wife's Cesar salad was just OK. For dessert the ladies split the skillet cookie 🍪, which was unfortunately very undercooked... but the edges and ocean ice cream 🍨 got eaten. Our total with tax and tip was just over $136... granted the app and some of their drinks were at happy hour pricing. 🤑 Would recommend and if we go back while in the area... we're going to try and sit on their rooftop patio. 🤩

Great ambiance. Casual food done upscale. Large plates selection not expansive but quite adequate if you have a bigger appetite. Unique self service beers on tap. Highly recommend the Orange Vodka Cosmo specialty cocktail.

The dinner was delicious and the atmosphere was intimate. If you want a quieter experience then I would suggest reserving a table the same day and asking to go to the second floor. I got the wagyu burger with a side of their sweet & smoky mayo and it was delicious for just $22.00. This is a nice spot for a date, a cocktail after work, or birthday dinner, etc. This restaurant can get really busy so I suggest reserving a table to avoid the wait.

Very good bar/comfort food. Easily the best grilled cheese I've ever had. The food is fairly affordable, and you even get the bonus of watching the servers skillfully carry huge trays of food on a single hand. Would definitely recommend!

This upscale bar looks so beautiful and makes a great spot for drinks and a great meal. The new bartender Taylor made great long islands and margaritas. He was very nice and outgoing. The owner made some great tequila sunrises also. I can't wait for them to have the rooftop seating when it warms up. My partner and I had a great time here it's a must go-to place!! I'm thinking about having my birthday here.

The onion smash burger was fantastic! It came with delicious Trata sauce and lettuce onion and cheese and I also added tomato. Our waiter Colin was fun and very helpful. Would recommend the burgers for sure

Looks very upscale but price was reasonable and taste delicious and good portion - all we every wanted! I ordered the waygu burger which was one of the most juciest medium well burger I ever had! Well seasoned and tasted really good. The other order was the steak frites, which also tasted good. My only complain in the fries which was very average. One would expect hand cut fries for a restaurant like this. We went there for dinner without reservation and didn't have to wait to get a table! Servers were nice.

Went to dinner with coworkers on a Thursday evening around 5:30pm. We called ahead since we were a party of 7. It was extremely busy, parking lot was very full. Food & drinks were phenomenal. Love the atmosphere here. I ordered an Amaretto sour and the blackened fish tacos. Tacos were delicious, can't wait to go back. Highly recommend.

The soft pretzel starter was super soft. It came with a mustard and a cheese dip. Yummy, I bet it's amazing in the summer they have a patio that over looks the lake.

First experience was very positive. Not too noisy tables aul little close. Soft pork belly buns were delicious!y Chicken chicken melanese was dripping with salad dressing chicken on the bottom dressing on top didn't make any sense to me. I would order it again but I would ask for dressing on the side. Just a thought.

First time there, very pleased with our visit. We had a group of six out on the patio (it fills up quick I recommend getting there closer to 4 of possible). It was spacious, clean, had nice ambiance, wasn't too loud, and our waiter Collin was very attentative. The Soft Pretzels, Carnitas Nachos, Steamed Buns, Blackened Shrimp Tacos, Blackened Shrimp Pasta and Onion Smashburger were all very good. If you like nachos and pretzels, definately try those.

We booked the beer wall for a semi- private event and I can’t recommend this place enough. Most of our party was visiting from out of town and the space was perfect for our needs. The service was attentive and very accommodating with our birthday celebration needs. Jessica was the best! The beer wall was a huge hit and the cards were easy once figured out. Food was also delicious. I highly recommend this place and look forward to the next!

Been a few years since I have been hear- last time there was an island bar and glass light fixtures. Little different layout, more seating and a beer wall. Great selection of local draft beer and great appetizers. Was there for an after work Happy Hour and it was a great evening! *7.11.2024 Another great happy hour / dinner. All the food was amazing. The only thing I could complain about is the noise - could use some sound dampening with all brick, steel and glass - it gets loud, but it's a beautiful place and tasty!

This is a stunning restaurant. The decor isn't just nice in a flashy or cheap way like so many hollow restaurant designs today. It's truly classic, everything from the brick walls to the choice of wood looks and feels genuine and high quality. In terms of the food these are some of the best hamburgers I've had in years. They do come very rare if you order them that way so I recommend just getting them cooked medium. The French fries are fantastic, ultra crispy and cooked well without being over cooked.

This was the first time I had been to Trata since the superbug started. The menu changed a lot but the new dishes were good replacements. For my drink, I had a White Cosmo. It was so good. It was smooth and didn't have a liquor taste to it. Served in a very chilled glass, the Cosmo stayed cold a long while. I had the house salad which wasn't much to brag about. Just a regular salad. The salmon with honey Brussels sprouts were simply amazing. When I ate the Brussels sprouts all I could do was tap my fork. LMBO words couldn't be found to express the goodness my tastebuds were experiencing. The salmon has fresh and had a nice seasoned crust on top. It was flakey and firm at the same time. I enjoyed myself on this night. I recommend everything I had lol

The place is a little more upscale than I'm used to, but the food is good and the prices aren't going to break the bank. Good beer selection and my waitress was very attentive and friendly. Had a great family dinner. Food was great and our server, although busy, was friendly and attentive. As the dining room got full, it was very hard to have a conversation. Very loud. Otherwise, it's a great atmosphere, food and service.

Came here after a long walk to cool off with a drink and get some food fuel in. Nice atmosphere overall, sat outside on the patio. Chairs up there are a bit tall for my preference but overall great food and drinks. Bill ended up on the pricier side than average though. Try it if you are in the area.

I've been to Trata a few times. The last time I went to, a couple weeks ago, it was OK. I had the steak salad which was good. The waitress was very friendly, but the service was really slow. One of the special winter cocktails, with lime and cranberry, was great. I love the ambiance and decor. I would give it 3.5 stars if I could.

I always enjoy the food here, when it gets busy it can take service a little longer. We had one of our dinners forgotten in the process but they did get it out to us within 15 minutes of realizing. We had a party of 8 so it is understandable there was some confusion. Personally I could eat 100 of their Duck Cranberry Quesadillas! They are my FAVORITE!

The ambiance here is very cool with a modern industrial vibe. There's outdoor seating for dine-in. The service is slow and could have used another server. The smashburger is cooked well done and had good flavor with their sauce. The fries are also nice and crispy.

Trata was very pleasant. I can’t say this is my favorite restaurant in Rochester but I could definitely see myself returning here 2 or 3 more times. Very nice place to go on a date or a night group of friends outing. My table mainly ordered the salmon dish like myself and I would rate it a 7/10. Salmon was cooked perfectly and the vegetables were nice (the mushrooms & onion combo) but something about the combination of the type of vegetables and the salmon did not sit well with me (carrots, winter squash purée and the cherry vinaigrette). We all enjoyed it but it wasn’t the best dish we ever had. The duck quesadillas were very delicious, I know I would come back just for that. Though I wish more was given. The sorbet was amazing too and I am very particular on my sorbet. The chicken wings were pretty good but nothing to brag about. I had an upstate New York Riesling win and of course it did not disappoint and my companions also enjoyed their drink I believe they ordered a Chai Latte which actually looked very appealing.

We called to reserve a table for 2 outdoors. They could only accommodate us at their rooftop bar. It was interesting to watch the bar tender work while she brushed away at the yellow jackets that flew around her. Service was very good because the bar tender was also our waitress. Their menu was very limited. They only had 4 or 5 dinner entrees. So, I chose to have 2 appetizers instead: the pita chips with artichoke dip and the pork belly with hoisin sauce in a steamed bun. My husband opted for the pan-seared salmon. The appetizer servings were quite generous. The artichoke dip and pita chips are very rich and very good. Although, the cook burned a few chips. The steamed bun was okay. My husband also enjoyed his salmon dinner.

Very beautifully designed restaurant, clean and well-maintained, with unisex bathrooms, bar on a site. Great customer service, very friendly, food came on time, we ordered appetizer artichoke dip, it was very delicious, but my burger was ok. Overall we had nice experience.

Visted here for a friend's birthday. Started with some appetizers of Potk Belly steam buns , Pretzels and chicken fingers all were very delicious, especially the steam buns . My main dish wash the nashville hot chicken. The sauce was a little on the thick side , but had good flavor and spice. For drinks I had a paper plane and a local craft beer . They also have a cool beer wall on the first floor and that's great for happy hour .

SO CLOSE to a 5* but couldn’t get there. Staff and facility are spectacular. Beer wall is so much fun and a great way to try and test out lots of beers. I love a simple menu and the nachos were amazing and the chips stayed perfectly crisply the entire time we ate. I found the dinner options lacking in creativity although they were cooked very well and tasted great. Will definitely return!

I went to TRATA yesterday to celebrate a graduation / birthday. The location is great and I love the inside of the place but the food is just okay! I ordered Fried Chicken wings which well great but at $14 for 10 wings a bit pricey. For my main course I have the Wagyu Burger which was very tasty seasoned well and cooked just the way I asked med-well. The fries on the other hand would have been better from McDonlad's, Burger King etc. I was not particular happy with the server and thought service could have been much better. She seem to be upset at the amount of people in the party which was 18 people which provided her with a great gratuity. For this reason I give it a 3 star.

Pretty mediocre food. Ordered chicken wings and lettuce wraps to share. Food took quite some time to come out and the lettuce wraps are a dyi situation where you get a quarter of a lettuce head (which looked a bit questionable with brown spots) and you assemble. The food left me with heartburn. Cocktails were pretty tasty, though. Rooftop is not bad with a view of the parking lot, 490 highway and a bit of Cobbs Hill park.

Our party of 4 Celebrated my son’s 22 birthday on 12/30/24. We had reservations and were sat on the 3 rd level. Nice area but seems difficult for the restaurant to serve this area efficiently. Server had a very nice personality and apologized several times for the cold onion soup, the extremely slow food service and over cooked burgers (burnt). Soup was cold and they should have remade, instead they reheated some way and the cheese was at the bottom of the crock. On a positive Wagu burgers were amazing. Probably won’t rush back but the atmosphere around the bar for drinks and light apps seems very nice.

Great atmosphere! And the appetizers were good! However, their steak was VERY salty. And it wasn’t just mine, two other people on our table got the stake and felt the same way.

A great place to have a drink after work with some colleagues but not a great resturant. If you are going just for the food there are many other places with better quality food for less $$$. This place tries to be high end but it's expensive for what you actually get. They smothered the steak with gravy which a high end steak house would never do. The drink and beer selection is good and the upstairs seating is not too loud.

Our waiter didn't make eye contact. He didn't take our order until 45 minutes into us sitting. We had to ask for the drink menu. The food was not good. I ordered the grilled cheese and everyone my meal but not their own. Update: The owner reached out to me and attempted to rectify the situation. I did go back to visit and the service was much better but unfortunately the food was still not that great.

I guess it was fine? The service was Rochester fine, the food was Rochester fine. The atmosphere however, super loud and echoing and crazy hard to hear. Also is it a restaurant? A sports bar? Not sure what it is trying to be but I left thinking, eh it was Rochester fine.

Tried the chicken Cobb salad at TRATA tonight. The atmosphere is great — a modern, upscale-casual spot in Rochester with a lively vibe and a big craft beer selection. � As for the salad, the bacon was definitely the highlight — crispy, flavorful, and the best part of the dish. Unfortunately, the rest of the salad fell a little flat. The ingredients themselves were fine, but overall it tasted pretty bland, and the blue cheese jalapeño dressing was very subtle, almost hard to taste. Not terrible, but not something I’d rush back for either.

Atmosphere and area is really nice. The food could have been better. While options are lacking, the shrimp in my dish were really tasty but I only had about 5 of them. The pasta needed flavor. Ordered a Caesar salad that I would put right at 3 also.

Went there as a large party for a birthday. Food was fine, not bad but not great. Server was good. It was my first time there and he explained the beer wall to us. The problem was as a large table, they refuse to split the bill and added a 20% tip. We had to tip on the beer we bought at the beer wall, which we had to go and get ourselves, and also look up the menu for what they had on their website while we were sitting at the table. Not overly impressed with the place. But it's the cool place to be to show off on insta.

If it's your first time coming here I promise you will love and you should definitely try the duck quesadilla its phenomenal. But as a Rochester native and someone that's been to Trata more than 3 times to eat their food.... please just change up your menu, you have a fantastic space and so much potential - even though I personally miss the old bar - but come on give us some new variety!! Its hard to want to keep coming back for the same old stuff.

The waitress and the place itself is nice. My pasta was kind of bland but the shrimp was cooked well. My friend got the steak which tasted amazing but again her sides lacked flavor as well. The portion sizes were great though! I took probably half of my blackened shrimp pasta home and just added a bit of Cajun and garlic and was happy.

This place was easy to make a reservation online for a little birthday dinner. Only one choice for a vegan to eat, I ordered a veggie burger, super dry and chalky taste but my dates food was a 10. Our server was knowledgeable, professional and perfect timing, the food runner was quite rude 🤨. The bathrooms are unisex and had a perfect set-up but they were dirty, trash over flowing, gross toilets/sinks 🤮. Between the bathrooms and the only vegan option being an ick to eat I have to rate it pretty low 🤷‍♀️.

Took a friend to Trata for their birthday dinner. The server was sweet though not quite as attentive as she could have been. I ordered the Chicken Malanese. While the fennel salad topping was good the chicken itself was very dry and lacking in flavor. My friend ordered the pork tacos which were mediocre. Unfortunately we were both disappointed and most likely won't return. :(

We were seated quickly for our reservation, but placed in a dark corner right next to a large group with a newborn. ​Service was terrible - we waited 15 minutes for water (and to be even acknowledged), and 20 minutes total just to order drinks. To top it off, the keg kicked on the beer wall while I was pouring my first beer. ​Between the seating situation and inattentive service, the experience was very disappointing.

If I could give this place 2.5 stars, I would. I want to start off by mentioning what I liked- the atmosphere is casual and upbeat. Great location, love the views from the windows, service was friendly and fast (in spite of it being busy), and the prices are reasonable. The menu also offers a variety of food and drinks that should satisfy most palates… Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The tempura shishito pepper appetizer had way too much batter— in fact there were two large globs of batter and peppers that we had to cut apart…. Though the dipping sauce was tasty. The warm pretzel appetizer… wasn’t terrible… but was just eh… The lettuce wraps were subpar…the meat was dry and the accompanying sauces were salty and tasted of artificial flavoring. The bahn mi sandwich was too soggy, however the pork had good flavor and was well prepared— it would have been more authentic and better balanced had they used a crusty baguette, less sauce, added cilantro, more pickled radish/ carrots / and cucumber… The cocktails were very average. Not bad but nothing to get excited about… I would consider this average sports bar quality food…. Unfortunately, I had expected more.

Had to write a review because this clearly isn’t talked about enough. Although Trata has good food I went there Saturday night with a bunch of girl friends. Parking lot right next to Trata was full so naturally we had to park in the back (by west elm). Went in for dinner around 7 and came out around 9 to find that our car along with 5 others had their windows smashed into. No cameras in the parking lot. “Nothing” Trata can do (maybe warn their customers about parking). And better yet police won’t even show up. Supposedly it happens all the time there so I’m left questioning why Trata doesn’t let their customers know this prior to reservations. I would have rather ubered there than have had to deal with a car window smashed in and 9 girls stranded with no way home. And why is there not cameras in that back lot if this is a reoccurring issue?

While the service is great and the food is good, and the beer wall is a fun addition, every single time I eat here, I end up SICK sick in the middle of the night. Even if I try to stick to a more “clean” food option, I still get sick every time I eat here. Which is disappointing because it is a good place and the atmosphere is fun.

07/30, we went back today after a wonderful experience at rooftop last time. Sadly it was not open due to lack of staffing on a wonderful summer evening. So we went down stairs by the bar where two managers were standing by the door, the bartender was busy and no server came to take care of us. I guess that lack of consistency makes it hard to know when going to Trata could be a good experience. So, we left.

I'll start by saying that this used to be my all time favorite restaurant years ago. It was a great spot for date night. Great place for a girls outing or birthday celebration. When I moved back to this area, it was the place I was most excited for. Friends in the area had said it went downhill. I didn't want to believe them. We came on a weeknight for dinner and sat on the rooftop patio. There was about a 40 minute wait. Our server was very sweet and friendly. The food took a long time to arrive. My favorite dish has always been the brussel sprout salad. It used to be very crisp and refreshing with pancetta and cherry tomatoes, the dressing used to be light. This time it was soggy and sloppy. There was no freshness to it. We also ordered nachos which came cold, with minimal toppings. We asked for chicken on the nachos instead of chorizo. The chicken was very sparse, about 5 chunks, and very dry. It is advertised as having corn and pico on it. We asked for more of this to top it with. Not at all worth $17. The beer wall was something new to me here. The list online did not reflect what was available on tap. So after looking and deciding, we were disappointed to have to choose something else. Overall I was very saddened by my meal. Our cocktails were pretty good. The outdoor atmosphere was nice. I might come back for a drink. But don't think I'll ever come back for dinner. Very disappointed in how it had changed.

Okay so the fish taco appetizer was very good and the cocktails were okay but the the Nashville chicken sandwich was a mess to eat and needed more acid. The bańh mi was not well executed and was served on overly toasted baguette. The tomato red pepper soup was thick because the ratios were off and it needed less cheese and more broth. The atmosphere was lovely but will only be going back for apps and drinks.

The ambiance was nice and the building was esthetically pleasing, the cucumber drink I had was amazing, and I got the blackened fish tacos which were actually really good. The clam chowder however was very different and the taste was very different than your typical chowder. It was chunky, but just odd tasting. I went with a large group who ordered different selections off the menu and there many were very unsatisfied with their selections. One ordered a burger well done and it literally came back red in the middle and only a desert was offered. Baked Mac and cheese was ordered and it was terribly dry. I’m not sure what exactly was wrong with the birthday girls burger, but she exchanged for a Caesar salad. So although I was happy with my selection and drink, pretty much everyone else was, and it was actually brought to the servers attention and the server said “and I put the order for well done on the burger”, but yet only offers a free desert is uncalled for. Without guests you have no establishment. The burger looked like it was going to run off the plate and she asked for the burger to be “well done”. To the owner: You can have a pretty building, and great location, but it takes excellent customer service and product to keep it going guys!! I see this way too much and this is B2B ;) Okay hope this helps.

First time here. The chicken fingers were cooked in grease that was old and the outside cooked super fast but the chicken was soggy. The fries were super salty. My noodles were hard on my Mac and cheese and the food came out cold. My husbands food was fried to absolute death and so was my sons steak and potatoes. I won’t be back. We paid $52 for 3 drinks, a sprite and burnt chicken. The rest of the food they had to take off the bill

Food was not great, chips were soggy, drink was ok...but eh..... environment is loud there is an upstairs and downstairs upstairs is less busy

Had dinner there recently as part of a group party. The interior design is pretty neat, it's multilevel, and you can view other levels from where you're sitting if you're on an upper floor. I thought the drinks were good and friendly. The service was pretty decent at first. However as the night went on, the service completely fell apart. Our group was waiting on the dessert for literally over half hour with no updates, the waiter said the kitchen was busy. The people leading our party went downstairs to inquire several times, told us the place didn't actually seem that busy or crowded by that time. Finally people in our group started to leave, and the dessert arrived after most people had left, almost an hour after it had been ordered. Unfortunately will not be checking out this restaurant again.
