Great fried fish dinner. It's a market do there's no dining in. It's all take out but it's awesome! Fried fresh for you. They have all kind of fish available for sale. I imagine they'll cook any of it for you. Highly recommend.

My wife and I decided to go to Kithnos for fish. The staff that was working were very friendly. The salmon was phenomenal! The seasoning was delicious and the portion was large for a very reasonable price. Definitely going to go again.

The staff was very friendly immediately upon walking through the door. The scallops were great. I purchased some fresh haddock from there case and I was happy when I prepared it how fresh it still was. Will definitely return soon

Kithnos has been around for so long, even when I was younger, and I've NEVER been unsatisfied neither has my family when they've gotten their food from there. My mom and aunt used to get our haddock fish dinners from their EVERY Friday and especially on Good Friday.

I've been going here for over 30 years. I used to go with my dad as a child and now I bring mine. Our family favorite has always been the fish sandwiches and fried clams. Still the only place I will eat fish sandwiches. Kithnos has spoiled me for generations!

The best fish fry in all of Rochester. These guys actually take the time to care about each customer wants/needs. Their dishes are all made to order and come up fresh every time. If you are looking for an alternative to fried foods, try their baked Haddock or Salmon.

It was a fantastic Fish fry heaping mounds of Thick cut fries and coleslaw. Crust was perfect on the fish. I also order the fried scallops, they were cooked perfect and tasted wonderful. My experience was great. Staff and food were amazing. I think its a great value for fresh a fish fry. I haven't had one this good in many years. Its better than most Fish n Chips shops in the UK.

I’ve been going here for my Friday Fish fry likely 35+ years. This is authentic. The fish is clearly fresh. They serve them in “hunks” so a fish fry dinner will likely have 4 of them. With fries and Mac salad enough to serve two people. Best fish fry I’ve ever had. This is an old school fish market so expect waiting and packaging. You’ll love it!

Best fish in the city in My opinion. Literally its either kithnos or no fish fry at all. Large portions too. I recently came back to edit this post and say that years after this original review, they are still on top. I hope they continue serving the community for years to come.

Shrimp/Fish/Scallops are delicious The owners are very friendly, professional and they go out of their way to make sure every customer is 100% satisfied The icing on the cake is the extremely nice & friendly young lady who works at the register. My wife and I stopped in tonight to see what type of fish was available. We ended up getting some fresh grouper to take home. Definitely didn't disappoint. The fish was fresh, the price was better than expected and the customer service was great. We will definitely be back.

I haven't been here in a few years...when I tell you I'm not sure why I haven't..First off $17.00 for a fish fry is a good price compared to other places in Rochester, 2nd, you get a lot of fish and it's real good! Plus I love the Hush puppies! 3rd the Plate fills me plus I can go back for seconds yeah that's a win! I'll be back next Friday 😁 and I Appreciate the Good Service!

Kithnos Seafood Market has the best fish fry dinner in town—no question. The portions are massive, the fish comes in golden, crispy chunks, and everything is super fresh. You can taste the quality in every bite. On top of all that, the service is super friendly and fast. It feels like a neighborhood spot where they actually remember your name and care that you’re happy with your food. If you're craving a proper fish fry, Kithnos is the place to go. You won't find better.

I order a seafood combo for my sister and I. They were very fresh and tasty. The portion size is enough for 2 or 3 people. I also had their seafood salad and it was good as well. You get good service and a bang for your buck.

Super delicious sea food, fried and mac salad. Spacious, clean and climate controlled interior, plus reasonable prices and friendly and attentive staff make this my #1 takeout destination. My only suggestion for improvement would be higher-quality containers for prepared meals (to keep them hotter longer).

Love it! We go at least once or twice a week. They are still the best! During the week is great to go. You beat the crowd on a Friday! You get three crab cakes, but I ate one. That's good good it is! I got a baked potato and okra for an additional charge.

Reasonably priced seafood market, and takeout fried seafood. Fish/ Salmon steaks we're good, fried mushrooms we're good too. You can eat in too. Basic environment, nothing special, but good food. Chowders pretty good as well. Closed Mon n Tues.

I live in Gates and I drive all the way over to Kithnos fish market. They always have fresh caught catfish, which is my favorite. I use to get my catfish from Wegmans but they changed companies and they don't have the catfish I use to buy from there, so Kithnos was a great find for. They also cook it fresh if you like, but I like to take mine home and fry it. They also have pre seasoned catfish which is also tasty. Thank you.

People are genuine and know the regular customers. Only reason 4/5 is the owner's wife is easily overwhelmed and is rude. Food is great tasting and fresh. Decor is out of date but most customers order take out

i didn't order the usual, as i'm most enjoy of their crispy chicken fingers meal; i had the jumbo haddock meal. whereas being delicious & savory, i would've loved to have had their usual crinkled fries.

We placed our phone order on 8/5/22 with a very pleasant and respectful receptionist. Our order included fried scallops (very good) and a fish fry ( 3 pieces !! and excellent). The sides were Cole slaw, Macaroni salad and a baked potato. All were delicious - but, the Mac salad was wonderful. We will definitely be back for more.

I wanted to let Kithnos know the service was excellent and the portion was generous and the food was mostly tasty. I say "mostly" because the fish needed maybe another 30 seconds of fry because the batter wasn't cooked all the way through. The meat of the fish was really good, as were the scallops and shrimp. Is there a little sugar in the onion ring batter, because that was delicious, too - but some of the onion skin got into one of my rings, so that wasn't easy to chew. But a net positive experience, overall!

The phone is fine but the battery is way way too much you get 60% better 30% meat not cool

Went here a couple of times but the last time which was today I was not happy I ask for haddock chunks not fried to hard and they where over fried tasted like they been there for a while and fries where so sloppy and thick almost chock on them very disappointed i thought we found a good place to get fish from. Maybe only on Fridays there good and fresh. Customer service was excellent just sad about the food.

I stopped by after 3 years gone from Rochester and the food was ok. It was already cooked in warmers and we were charged more than what was listed online and in the big print board over the register. I feel COVID-19 has impacted many of my favorite places. Hope Rochester's unique culinary places improve. I miss my old Rochester.

We love your fish fries but yesterday I was VERY disappointed with my scallop dinner. I expected sea scallops but got heavily breaded bay scallops instead. Plus they were either old or over cooked. On a better note your potato salad was delicious. We will be back but will NEVER order the scallop dinner again.

They are very rude to black people I felt so bad leaving and will never return there again. The food is great, but their rudeness is ridiculous.

The only reason why I’m given number two is because my fish was overcooked the Mac salad doesn’t have any seasoning on it but their lobster bisque is amazing it was my first time going today but I don’t think I will return again unless I want lobster bisque and I tried to call to see if I could get a refund for the food and the phone was off the hook

The establishment is HOT. I was sweating like an escaped convict after about 30 seconds in line. Also, despite calling ahead and having them tell me my order would be ready In 20 minutes, (I arrived in half an hour just to be safe) it still wasn't ready. The fish was average at best. Nothing to write home about especially for a place that does strictly seafood. Prices are fair.

We have frequented this place for 30 years. Now that my husband is retired we’re no longer here for 6 months of the year. Picked up haddock fish fry dinners this evening. Fish was way over cooked and did’t even resemble haddock. It was tasteless. Fries and slaw were also disappointing. Will not go back.

Just spent 60$ at kitnos for cod and a fish sandwich. The bread on my sandwich was very old and could not be chewed, i called and the same person told me the bread was fresh this am… that is a lie. I would think with a 60$ purchase they would take care of me, at minimum. Cliff kemp

My crab salad was 😞😡just a bunch of Mayo and imitation meat. Very very expensive and used to be excellent on the fish even on their busiest days. I don’t know what happened! Leave a review that’s with a better experience. Shrimp was delicious, but pieces in each dinner differed in quantity. Like seriously stop being just a Name, at this point! No photo 😞

First of all soon as you walk in it smells of old fish guts and week old garbage..but I over looked the smell because that's the first time going there and they had such a smell.. But in top of that They have awful customer service... They were very much so racist to my family and I. The food was awful.. They half cooked the fish.. Paid for a pound of clam strips and gave us straight crumbs... We had to throw them out because they were burnt and hard.. They even made us pay for cocktail sauce.. Never AGAIN💯💯💯💯😒😒😒😠😠 will I go back.. Kim's fish market on Plymouth avenue is way betterand smells less fishy...🐟🐟🐟😠😠😠😠😠

My first time eating there and the experience was horrible. My order was wrong when I got home, my fault for not checking before I left. When I returned I explained that not only was my order wrong the scallops were not cooked well. I explained that I had to be careful due to being pregnant and all I wanted was fully cooked scallops. The response I got was oh well throw them out. The clams were old and over cooked. Food was cold and bland. And attitudes colder. I was not rude nor did I even ask for my money back, mind you my food cost $30 for 2 dinners. Customer service and food sucked. I will tell anyone I could to never eat here.

Took a drive across town only to wait 20mins on a catfish dinner that was never tendered and they clearly were too busy for my one dinner,didn't even ask me why I was standing there so long.... so sadly won't be visiting again

Not f o r my tasting others was buying I like fish seasoned and done my coleslaw cold. Atmosphere was good, $16 wasted for me. If u don't like your fish seasoned this is your place. Hospitality is a 4.

Been going there for 30 years since the younger kids took over I've been there 4 * and each time I get macaroni salad stomach doesn't feel good but I will keep trying and going back there just won't get the salad maybe it needs to be refrigerated put on ice something

Upon visiting this restaurant having been a customer for many years prior. My food was prepared differently than I had anticipated. After reviewing the fish, prepared in beer batter versus cornmeal, I got the initial instinct that the youngman at the checkout was essentially attempting to force me to purchase it after sharing what id wanted. Reviewing the meal again, the fish looking more displeasung, i realized the fries seemed over cooked and decided to purchase only the other items ordered. Then the cashier replied what am I suppose to do with that , I stated it's not what I want and I'd gladly pay for the other dishes, shrimp/scallops and two drinks I brought to the counter. Angrily he snatched all the food away and said "Don't come back" . I let him know i would never, then turned and walked out of the store. Being a business owner I could NEVER treat a customer that way. His rude antics, just aren't the way things should be done in any business climate, however acknowledging people often work hard for their money and even if they do not it's customers which make our business. I give them 1 star only bc I'm unable to give zero. I have shared this experience since with other business partners who have vowed never to return. My advice treat people kindly and with respect. Responding in anger, in general probably isnt a good way however during a transaction of business can damage or even bankrupt the currency of your flow. #bad fish. The highlight is there's a New Place ive found which IS amazing and as NOT to associate the name of their business with this one, i will allow those who read to do a search on Google. Customer service there by the owner who was handing out fresh pieces of cake, samples when I walked in, has my sold. I've visited 3 times since then.

I give this place 1 star as im unable to give them anything less. My family and I have come here for over 30 years and today marks my final visit. After ordering a half lb of scallops and a fish dinner I arrived for my pick up and after reviewing the food it was, as to be specific, prepared in beer batter versus cornmeal. On the phone the youngman did not specify and assumed it was to be prepared in beer batter style. I stated at the checkout oh, this is prepared in the manner which I've previously stated it was and he said "that's what you ordered, and without anything else moved toward the cash register as to assume further that i was going to accept what was in front of me. I then opened the to go carton to further examine the meal and noticed the fries appeard overcooked, and the beer battered fish was even MORE less appealing than I'd momentarily contemplated purchasing and then consuming. Upon inspection I decided to decline the fish meal and move forward with the purchase of the scallops and the two drinks I had in tow. Then he said well what am I suppose to do with that? I told him that I would purchase the other items however that isn't what I want. He removed all the food and drinks and said "That's fine, don't ever come back". I am business onwer myself and have had to essentially eat 1000's of dollars on a single job bc an employee of mine did not do the job to scope which is of no fault of the customer who contracted with me to have the work done based on what they wished for and I would NEVER talk to, treat or give any excuse to a customer who is spending their hard eqrned dollars with me. This place just left an awful taste in my mouth and has stained their reputation of that which I would share anytime asked here and after. May I be the best steward I can to other humans during my moment here and during any by which I interact. I wish you all well.

Hot fish out of fryer burned through the To go container and fell on the dirty ground. Also smelled like extremely burned oil. Maybe meant to be. Called back weeks later cuz not a priority cuz had guests visiting and was told by nathan nothing could be done cuz I waited too long to come back. Been in customer service all my life and shouldn't matter when you come back. Either people are on the up and up or trying to scam a free meal. That's not me but he made me feel like a scammer and been in there quite often. No complaint number to call either. Must be locally owned

I have been a regular customer at Kithnos Seafood Market for years. Today has been a terrible day. I picked up three fish fries from Kithnos. Get home with one for myself my lady and one for my son. While we were eating my lady ended up with a long dark hair coming out of her coating on the fish. When I called to tell them so their response was that no one there has black hair!
