We had a fabulous dinner. Everything was on point, from the food to the servers and atmosphere. The best steaks we’ve ever had. Shareable sides were delicious. Loved the cream spinach and the potatoes. Save room for dessert!

I can’t say enough good things about this place. The food was absolutely delicious every dish was bursting with flavor, made with care, and beautifully presented. From the first bite to the last, it was clear that this kitchen knows what it’s doing. But what truly set this experience apart was the owner. Warm, welcoming, and incredibly genuine, the owner didn’t just run the restaurant they made us feel like guests in their home. They took time to talk to every table, share stories behind the dishes, and make sure we were enjoying ourselves. It’s rare to see someone so passionate about what they do, and that energy was infectious.

Everything was a 10/10. From the environment, to service, to the food. My husband and I went here for date night and could not stop being mesmerized from one thing after another. The steak was so buttery and melt in your mouth. And for dessert, the carrot cake was mouthwatering. We will absolutely be back!

We had dinner here after my nephews wedding and it was fabulous! The food, the service and the atmosphere all made for such a wonderful experience. The owner is very welcoming and even gave us champagne to toast the happy couple. If you want delicious food in Rome, I highly suggest this restaurant!!

Spent our 32nd Anniversary here. It was our second visit. Food and service was amazing. Filet was so tender. Whipped potatoes were amazing and the bottle of Austin Hope Cab was perfect. Can’t recommend Chophouse enough! Thank you for another amazing experience

We went to Downtown Rome Ga for July Fourth weekend and were told we did not want to leave without dining at Chophouse. We stayed at the Hawthorne and walked over. It was spectacular. You could tell it was created and designed around the love of food, drink, and friends. Can’t wait to go back. Delicious food and atmosphere! Thanks Charles, Leigh, and Jordon.

My husband and I have been three times and each time has been exceptional. The ambiance is warm and inviting, the staff are prompt and polite every time and the owner makes you feel very welcomed. The food is fantastic and the steaks are comparable to great steak houses we’ve been to if not better! This has been a great addition to broad street and our new favourite date night spot!

My husband and I had a fantastic experience at the Chophouse. Really....really delicious filet and mushrooms with Ceasars salad. The owner was very nice and accommodating. A definite YES!

It was a fortunate "accident" that led us to Chophouse, and one that turned out so well! We were supposed to go to another restaurant, but their credit card system was down and I didn't have cash. So, I Googled, "best restaurant Rome" and Chophouse was the first listing. I checked Opentable and it said the first available reservation was at 8:15 (it was now about 4:45 and we were about 30 minutes drive away from Rome). On a chance, I called the restaurant - the receptionist was nice, polite, and helpful - not the "attitude" you get at some high-end places when calling to make a reservation, especially a last-minute one. She said they had a table, but that we had to be out of it by 7:30 as it was reserved then for another couple (I appreciate the transparency). No problem - we were seated at our table by 5:20. Within five minutes of sitting, we were greeted by the owner, Mr. Hellier. Impressive! Incredibly nice person and what a story about going from engineering to restauranteur! Started with cocktails - I had the Smoked Old Fashioned and my wife had the Strawberry Dream - both were well done and delicious. Great menu selection and Mr. Hellier told us about a couple of "off menu" selections. We each had a wedge salad, and then split the Cowboy Ribeye (I am a firm believer that bone-in steaks are the best steaks), creamed spinach, and loaded baked potato. The wedge was well executed and delicious. We ordered our steak "medium" (you would not believe how few people can get this basic temperature point right), and it came out to perfection. Maybe one of the best prepared steaks I have ever had. The steak was very high quality meat, delicious and perfect - you could cut it with a fork. I rarely get steak at a restaurant because I have found that I can prepare a much better steak at home than what I get at most restaurants. I could not prepare a better steak than this one. I sincerely believe that it was the best steak I have ever received at a restaurant. The sides were delicious and the perfect size for two to share. The creamed spinach was not the usual mushy overcooked spinach swimming in cream and cheese that you get at most steakhouses - it was fresh, not overly creamy, with a light dusting of toasted parmesan. Delicious! Service was fine, though with a new restaurant you could tell they were still gaining experience and working out some of the kinks. Bar service was great, definitely some top-shelf bourbons, but they do need to add a Bloody Mary to the lineup! Good dessert selection, and the sugar-free options are a great (and needed) addition. Mr. Hellier stopped by our table several times - the most important aspect to me was that you could tell he really cared and wanted you to have an enjoyable experience. Less than halfway through our meal, we were making plans to come back for our anniversary (September) and to bring our family when everyone comes in for Christmas. Could not be happier with a dining experience. And, as proved here, not all accidents are bad ones... Addendum - after reading some of the other reviews, a couple of things. We are not from Rome and had never been to "downtown" Rome before, but after circling the block we quickly found ample parking in the free public parking garage behind the building. Also, if a steakhouse uses anything other than a little salt and pepper on a steak (and, as in the case, here, fresh rosemary), they are "hiding" something about the steak. A good steak should not be "well seasoned," the meat is the star of the show.

We had a group of 20 at the Chophouse on a Friday night. Our service was excellent, and our food was great. Talked to the owner several times, who was very attentive to our group. The prices were fair and we will definitely go back soon. I highly recommend the Chophouse in Rome.

My husband and I went to Chophouse to celebrate his birthday. This is hands down the best food we’ve ever had. We each steak and shared a baked potato and Brussels sprouts. Amazing food!!! We will definitely be going back.

We absolutely loved this place. The steak was perfectly cooked with a nice crust. The shareable sides were large enough portions that readily served 6 adults.

What a gem in Rome, Georgia! The food here is absolutely delicious — every dish is prepared with such care and flavor that it makes you want to come back again and again. The ambience is warm, inviting, and perfect for a relaxed evening out or a special occasion. Absolutely glad we finally tried this wonderful place out ! It is fantastic! Rome Ga needed this . The three of us had 3 different steaks that were prepared to perfection. The best we had in a long time. The onion rings are not what you expect. They were the best onion rings we have ever had. We will be back. Outstanding service also with an owner who interacts with his customers.

Visiting here for two nights—saw the menu and had to come here. Absolutely beautiful atmosphere and even better yummy food. Steaks are great and the best lobster Mac I’ve ever had. Issac (Mr. Gotter?) was a great server. Come here if you are visiting!!!

Absolutely amazing dinner both times we've been. Tomahawk steak was perfectly cooked. Bone in filet likewise. Whipped potatoes were smooth, creamy and delicious. The creamed corn was outstanding. Every server we've had has been attentive and courteous. Both times the owner has been to our table to ensure we were completely satisfied with our visit. Anyone who has spoken with him can immediately see how important it is to him that his guests are happy with their visit and how much joy he takes in serving his guests. I've never seen a more involved and concerned owner. Not to take anything away from the other fine dining experiences in Rome, but the Chophouse is on a level unto itself, without compare. Simply outstanding.

Love love love! Even if you don’t eat here (which you should) you MUST try their espresso martini! I consider myself an expert and theirs is best of the best, top tier, delicious (plus the glasses are also super cute). Their steaks are always phenomenal, I love a good char on the outside, medium rare center and that’s exactly what you get! Also love the potatoes and spinach. The owners are also very very sweet and make it a point to make everyone feel welcome, regardless of if you come on a slow Wednesday or a busy Saturday. Can’t wait to keep coming back!

What a fantastic addition to the Rome dining scene! Our steaks were perfectly cooked - tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The shareable sides were equally impressive (the corn and brussels tasted like a treat). We appreciated the kid-friendly off-menu option, though our son quickly regretted not ordering a steak of his own once he tasted ours! Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the space is beautifully appointed. A special touch: the owner personally stopped by our table to introduce himself and check in. We’ll absolutely be back. This place is a gem!

What a great addition to Rome. I had the cowboy ribeye and the wife had the ribeye, we both agree, one of the best steaks we've had. Great atmosphere to boot.

Honestly was the best service and the best Filet Mignon I've ever had. I recommend a visit to this place and you will not be disappointed at all. The owner is also very polite and had a very nice conversation.

Hands down the best steak in Rome — the bone-in filet mignon is life-changing. The staff is friendly, the owner is passionate and clearly took a lot of effort in designing the menu. The wine was delicious and well priced. The Brussels sprouts were divine. The creamed corn was fresh and delicious and the deserts did not disappoint.

I had the pleasure of dining here tonight with my family, the Freeman’s, and could not have been more satisfied with the experience. The owner of the restaurant was on the floor making rounds to all the tables making sure everyone was being well taken care of. He even went to the back to grab a bottle of Malbec for me after the bar said they were out! Phenomenal customer service. I had the bone in Filet Mignon, which I’ve never seen on a menu before, and it was phenomenal as well. Paired the steak with the Brussels and whipped mash. Had a Caesar salad for an appetizer and a Kettle One martini in the most exquisite martini glass. Overall an excellent experience, especially for Rome! As an Atlanta native, I’ve dined at some of the finest steakhouses in the city and I can honestly say I am looking forward to coming back here soon! Thanks for having us!

Absolutely the best steak I’ve had at a restaurant. It’s better than any steak I’ve had from a steakhouse in Atlanta (and I used to live in Atlanta and ate at most steakhouses). I’ve been twice so far but will keep coming back. The drive to Rome (from Bremen) is much easier than the drive to Atlanta. And not Rome has the best steakhouse in GA so that makes it even easier.

Doors opened at 5 pm with a warm welcome greeting from the restaurant owner. After we were promptly seated, our server Miss Payne arrived with a friendly greeting to the table. Drinks were suggested, and apologies made items not available (due to late delivery). The classy atmosphere, superior entrees (our filet steaks were cooked to specification, tender, delicious) nice portions of sides and attention to our table by all of the wait staff made our experience exceptional. And we will return again.

A Must-Visit in Rome, GA – A New Favorite! We were in town for one night to pick up our daughter from camp and decided to try this new chophouse—and we are so glad we did. Even though it’s only been open for eight weeks, everything was flawless. The service was warm, attentive, and professional from start to finish. We both ordered the lobster bisque and the Kansas City New York strip, and they were absolutely phenomenal—easily one of the best steaks we’ve ever had. The bisque was rich and flavorful, and the steak was cooked to perfection. One of the highlights of the night was chatting with the owner. He was so personable and friendly—we loved hearing his story and passion behind the restaurant. It’s clear he’s poured his heart into this place, and it shows in every detail. It’s rare to find a place that nails both the food and the atmosphere right out of the gate, but this spot did exactly that. We’re already planning to make this a yearly tradition whenever we’re in town. Highly recommend!

Best steak around hands down. I have ate steak all over the country and you won’t find one better. So glad we got an awesome restaurant local in Rome. Thanks for an awesome experience and fantastic food. Will be back soon!

Fantastic experience. Owner was greeting patrons at each table…we had personalized table card wishing us a Happy Valentines Day… details make a difference. Extremely polite servers who were very attentive: Seafood bisque was delicious. Some of the best I have eaten. We had steaks were well cooked and shareable potatoes were smooth and creamy. Crème brûlée for dessert: delicious but it was more of a pudding texture. The one weakness is the bar.indigo martini and Irish coffee. The martini is ok, and Irish coffee was terrible. Overall a wonderful restaurant, delicious food and delightful atmosphere.

Was visiting in Rome for the Christmas Holidays. My son and I came to the Chop House for some steaks..The steaks were fantastic. We both started with the jumbo shrimp cocktails, they were fantastic. The shrimp were the size of mini lobsters..Both steaks were cooked perfectly, the creamed spinach as a side was excellent. The service was spot on..A fantastic touch was when we first arrived we were greeted by the owner Mr Hellair. We promptly seated and quickly created by a great waitress who knew the menu inside out..Shortly after ordering the owner Mr. Hellaire Came to our table to introduce himself. What a fantastic touch that you don't see every day. He explained the concept of his restaurant being that it's fairly new..He explained his future plans for expanding upstairs, what a great man. Having owned a family resturant on Long Island NY I appreciated thek half hour he took to talk to myself and I. Being from NY I just wish I could come down more often..I will be down again this year and we stop in again for sure..Thank You Mr Hellaire. 5 out of 5 stars. We came for date night and had an incredible experience. The entire staff was amazing and the owner even stopped by to genuinely ask for our honest feedback. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious and hands down some of the best food we have ever had. We sat at the bar since we did not have reservations and it was perfect. Our bartender and waitress Brook P was fantastic. She was kind patient answered all our questions and made the night even better. The food is pricey but so worth it and we are already planning our next date night here and excited to try more from the menu. Highly recommend.

We tried this restaurant last night. I ordered a medium New York strip. It was slightly overdone, but it was tough and dry. The flavor was good. I did not want to, but the others at the table asked that they bring me a ribeye. I said alright and asked for medium rare plus. It came out inconsistent. From rare to medium. But it was still very tough. I’m not a cook so I don’t pretend to know why. But the bottom line is - the steaks just weren’t that good and I did not eat them. (For the record, the others enjoyed their meals. The restaurant did offer to comp my steak but we did pay for them).

I was super excited about this place until I tried it. Both food and drinks were probably Applebees quality. They could still turn this place around since it’s brand new. First impressions are very important! And the little details matter! Especially when you are charging upwards of $100 per person. The problem is not that it’s too expensive. Little things like having the correct type of ice for drinks like old fashions go a long way!

Chophouse on Broad in Rome, Ga did not disappoint during our first visit. My husband’s steak was cooked exactly to his specifications - the Pittsburgh style steak. It also helped that they have his preferred spirits, the Macallan whisky. I ordered a Faroe Island Salmon and it was very good as well. Our server, Ms Robinson, was perfect - very charming, unpretentious and did not hover but somehow knew the perfect timing to check in on us and made sure our food is the way we wanted. The owner was also very friendly and interacted with every patron, a rare occurrence in this day and age. The interior, set in one of the old buildings on Broad St, is very much a place of class and sophistication. The table for two is substantially larger than normal, evocative of a first class establishment though the prices of the offerings are very reasonable. We will certainly visit again to try their other steak offerings. This restaurant is literally a chef’s kiss!
