Dopo una lunga ricerca sono riuscito a trovare un ristorante vicino al colosseo che non fosse la solita trappola per turisti, leggermente nascosto nelle vie di fronte al colosseo. Accoglienza top soprattutto se siete turisti, vi fanno entrare anche con valigie e zaini e ve li fanno appoggiare in un cantuccio riservato. Forse sarà che abbiamo mangiato quasi alle 15 ma il locale era poco affollato, perfetto per gustarsi un ottimo pranzo. Abbiamo preso una carbonara e un bicchiere di falanghina su consiglio della cameriera. Davvero tutto ottimo, la carbonara soprattutto, il sapore di ogni singola materia prima era squisito. Camerieri super organizzati, gentili e alla mano. Prezzi normali, forse per essere in centro a Roma anche un pelo sotto la media. Ci ritornerei volentieri

Angelino è un nome molto noto della ristorazione della capitale. Ce ne sono almeno tre, qui a Roma, che nell'insegna recano il nome Angelino. Io ho sperimentato l'osteria che dichiara di aver iniziato a dar da mangiare ai romani nel lontano 1899, in pratica a fine XIX secolo, quando i ragazzi nati in quello che per loro si sarebbe rivelato un anno sfortunato, non sapevano che avrebbero imbracciato il fucile contro gli austriaci. Ora Angelino o meglio i suoi successori, sfamano anche gli stranieri che, a frotte, dopo aver pedalato dentro e attorno al Colosseo e all'arco di Costantino, si siedono stremati ai tavoli della sua osteria, come è giusto che sia. Esperienza culinaria eccellente quella provata da Angelino. I piatti della tradizione scelti tra cui i saltimbocca con patate al forno, si sono rivelati all'altezza della situazione e di gran gusto e sapore sia al palato che agli occhi. Il vinello bianco ha aiutato nell'assimilazione delle pietanze. Il caffè nel digerirle. Conto giusto, servizio cortese ed efficiente. Ci tornerò.

Molta bontà e cordialità del personale. Tutto buono, però la menzione speciale la riservo al Tiramisù. Semplicemente favoloso! Io ho fatto il bis!!! Inoltre sono stati molto di supporto perché in corrispondenza dell'osteria ci sarebbe un "appartamento fantasma" in affitto su booking ed altre enti web. Fate molta attenzione il nome dell'appartamento è: Comfortable luxury apartments near the Colosseum - Rome! Mi raccomando state attenti! Ringrazio ancora la Signora e il figlio per la disponibilità.

Piatti di alta qualità (vino rosso un po' meno). Ho preso una pasta con sugo di coda alla vaccinara e un crostino di alice! Tutto veramente buonissimo!

Visited this place for the first time and was really happy with it! The pasta was tasty and perfectly cooked — you can tell they put care into it. Great balance of flavor and texture, nothing extra, just perfect. I also calculated the calories using the service mentioned in the photo — it was super convenient. Osteria Angelino dal 1899 was the very first restaurant we visited after landing in Rome—and it set the bar incredibly high. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome. Everyone was warm, and friendly. We shared a bottle of wine, ordered the meatball appetizer, carbonara, cacio e pepe, and tiramisu for dessert. Every dish was absolutely delicious—authentic, perfectly cooked, and full of rich flavor. As a lovely surprise, the staff even brought out a complimentary appetizer for us to try, which was such a thoughtful and generous gesture. The atmosphere felt both relaxed and full of character—exactly what you'd hope for on your first day in Rome. This place made us feel right at home in a new city. A true 10/10 experience, and a meal we’ll remember for a long time.

Would recommend as the place to go for lunch after Colosseum tour. Opens for lunch, mainly serves pasta Dishes we liked: Amatriciana and Carbonara. So-so: Cacio-e-pepe. Somehow the pasta texture is not what we had expected. Caveat that we are not "local", that maybe how the pasta should be. The veal cooked in wine sauce was a surprise. It's very soft and tender. Taste the sauce more than the veal. The inside of the restaurant is hot and stuffy for the August summer heat, setting the expectations as we were looking for a cool refuge.

One of the most incredible meals we had in Italy!! We were sent here by a local we met at a nearby pub, and it did not disappoint. Very authentic Italian food, homemade pasta, and fantastic service. Everything was amazing! Not to mention an amazing view of the Colosseum at night time right around the corner. We will come back to visit everytime we visit Rome!

A 3 minute walk from the Colosseum you find this nice Italian restaurant, which may prove a good lunch option after your visit to the arena as it has nice food and inside air conditioning. We tried their pasta (Carbonara and the Mussels) which were very nice - the Carbonara perhaps slightly salty and the Mussels pasta a bit poor in mussels - but nice! They had a very plain fruit plate available for dessert as well (or as a snack if you're just stopping by for coffee), and I'd imagine it's a great option for kids. Prices are a tad higher than the Rome averages, but that's to be expected so close to the Colosseum.

Located near the Colosseum, this restaurant specializes in pasta. They offer many pasta options, and the rigatoni alla gricia was my favorite. They also have some side dishes and dessert menus to accompany your pasta. The restaurant has plenty of seating with a cozy interior. We were accommodated very quickly, even during lunchtime. The staff is nice and friendly as well.

We stopped by after our tour of the Colosseum. We had no reservation, but we were accommodated very quickly, and very politely. We ordered the whole fried Artichoke (I don’t even like the vegetable so I don’t know why we ordered it), the Bruschetta (Fantastic, but maybe too many tomatoes? It was a bit hard to eat, but it was delicious nonetheless). For mains, we each got the Spaghettone Carbonara (My friend enjoyed it) and I ordered the Rigatoni all Aurelia. I was quite surprised by the Rigatoni, it was very delightful. The cream cheese(?) dolloped on top beautifully balanced out the tartness of the tomato sauce, making for a wonderfully balanced sauce. We asked for bread (they charge by the way) to mop the plates up of the sauces, they were just that good. It was rather late in the afternoon, but they seemed quite busy. And the food was served in a timely manner and was delicious. Definitely a place I would like to visit again (with a reservation of course!)

siamo stati in questo ristorante il 1 aprile (pasquetta). eravamo in 2. avevamo una prenotazione per le 13:45 ma siccome eravamo di passaggio ci siamo anticipati. Entrati alle 13:25-13:30 ci è stato detto in maniera poco cortese dal signore all ingresso “se avete prenotato per le 13:45 dovete entrare alle 13:45”. Comprendiamo e attendiamo fuori. Giunte le ore 13:45 rientriamo come ci era stato detto poco prima e nonostante lo stesso signore di cui prima ci avesse ben visto, ha preferito dare una mano ai camerieri snobbando noi fermi all’ entrata. giunte le ore 13:50 facciamo presente ad un cameriere (dato che era con un tablet con le prenotazioni in mano) che avevamo la prenotazione per le 13:45 e avevamo aspettato così come richiestoci prima. Il cameriere,con aria infastidita nonostante non avessimo ancora mai interloquito con lui direttamente (che dovrebbe salvaguardare l’interesse del locale per cui lavora) ci dice: “eh vabbè sono le 13:50 aspettate un po’ fuori”. Senza parole nuovamente, attendiamo ancora all ingresso. nel frattempo, durante la precedente attesa e durante questa nuova attesa si verificano ben 3 cali di corrente (sarà un problema riCORRENTE?). Finalmente ci fanno sedere. Chiediamo ad un cameriere di poter ordinare. subito ci vengono fornite le bibite richieste e poco dopo i due antipasti (polpette abbastanza buone ma carpaccio senza sale). Tra gli antipasti e i primi piatti (2 carbonare buone, forse leggermente su di sale poiché era stata messa solo la parte magra del guanciale e non anche un po’ di parte grassa che poteva “salvare” questa piccola pecca che abbiamo tutto sommato lasciato passare con molta tranquillità) passa un po’ di tempo durante il quale i nostri piatti ormai finiti e sporchi non vengono portati via nonostante i camerieri passassero varie volte vicino al nostro tavolo anche a mani libere, difatti all’ arrivo delle due carbonare al tavolo erano ancora presenti i due piatti sporchi dell antipasto che noi commensali abbiamo dovuto sollevare per far spazio ai suddetti primi piatti (NONOSTANTE CI FOSSE VICINO UN ALTRO CAMERIERE A MANI VUOTE). Nel complesso le pietanze si presentano bene e sono anche abbastanza buone. La grande pecca è il personale (forse insufficiente(?) oltre che scortese). Dimenticavo! La frase preferita del personale per ogni tavolo e per ogni richiesta è “un po di pazienza”. Consiglio questo posto come chance nel caso in cui in altri posti ci sia troppa folla e troppa attesa.

Purtroppo ho avuto una esperienza negativa in questo locale. Il personale è gentile ma non è ben organizzato. Siamo rimaste 15 minuti sedute al tavolo senza che ci venisse portato il menù. I tavoli sono senza tovaglia o tovagliette e il nostro non era nemmeno completamente apparecchiato. Abbiamo ordinato un antipasto e poi un primo a testa. L’antipasto è arrivato insieme a due primi, mentre gli altri due sono arrivati molto dopo. La carbonara non era male, ma la cacio e pepe era pessima. Non solo era fatta con la panna ma quest’ultima era pure inacidita. L’amatriciana poi è una semplice pasta con passato di pomodoro a cui viene aggiunto il guanciale successivamente. Abbiamo chiesto il cestino del pane all’inizio del pranzo e anche successivamente… lo stiamo ancora aspettando 😅 assolutamente non consigliato

Servizio lento, abbiamo chiamato più volte il cameriere con riscontro praticamente assente. Hanno sbagliato a scrivere l'ordine per cui è arrivato primo e secondo insieme ad alcuni, e l' unico piatto per una persona a fine pasto, nonostante le richieste. Cibo freddo. Consolazione: vino buono, locale carino.

Esperienza deludente e lo dico con enorme rammarico. Hanno cambiato la gestione ed io ero venuto diverse volte a mangiarmi la carbonara. Sono stato in moltissimi posti a Roma a mangiare la carbonara come si deve e qui sono sempre stati ai vertici della qualità, assieme ad altri mostri sacri come Perilli per esempio. Purtroppo oggi, a distanza di tre anni dall'ultima volta mi ritrovo la carbonara con guanciale di buona qualità comunque ma poco cotto e croccante e ahimè... sinceramente non ci potevo credere, hanno messo un po' di panna per la crema. Mi sono sentito preso in giro e mi auguro che non rifacciano una roba simile. La gricia quasi non sapeva di niente ed era come se, anziché il pecorino, avessero usato il parmigiano e la panna. Sono rimasto senza parole e ho dato due stelle comunque perché il pane era delizioso e i fiori di zucca stellari.

Came here hoping to get some local experience from a passionate Italian generations of family-owned restaurant (since the name even have 'Since 1899') and left very dissapointed and upset. The service was very poor. When we came, they didn't give us the menu right away, we have to ask several times for the menu. Then, one of the waiter was very rude and unfriendly when taking our orders. The food came after a long wait but they did not cook it properly, some of the dishes are not hot. Lastly, when we asked for the bill at the cashier, that same waiter gave us the bill without looking at us which is very impolite. Then, when we asked regarding the service tax that was charged per person, he was raising his voice without explaining it properly. I mean???????? We will pay for the food, can't at least we had an explanation of what we about to pay???? Also, when we tried to double check on the things we ordered with the bill and asked him, he also kinda accused us that we thought he was putting the things we didn't order to the bill. Geez, we are just politely asking as the customers. Can't you be a little bit polite and friendly???? Our whole family was really upset on the customer service here, especially with the unsatisfying food.
