Solid food. I did notice the food had gone up about $1.37 since the last time I visited.
In and out of the drive thru <11min at dinner time! And that was with a 16 piece and other items. Extra thank you to the guy with glasses that threw in a bunch of hot salsas for me when I asked for some! Thank you :)
Love this place, consistently good and lovely employees. Just ate at the one in Citrus Heights and that was a horrible experience… just makes me appreciate this location even more.
I placed an order with El Polo and need to cancel it due to a family emergency. I had a little difficulty getting my money back from the order after cancelling. With the help of Arianna at the Fairway restaurant all was resolved in a kind and very helpful way. Thank you Arianna . . . you are the best!
Fresh, low calorie menu items with gluten and dairy free options. El pollo loco's really came a long way from when I first went there over 15 years ago. I will definatly keep coming back.
I am so glad I asked what the favorite is. The chicken avocado is awesome and with a salad, for a great price. Along with the great service with a smile. Try the cilantro sauce she said... wow, delicious!
Met friend for lunch at 11 30 Service was good The floor ..seats..and trash areas were FILTHY. It was disgusting. Ordered a double chicken bowl. The chicken was very dry. The avocado was a big ugly lump plopped in the middle. Will not return. 😞
Love the food. I get the tostada everytime
The lady on register on Thursday, March 17 Noon lunch rush had exceptional customer service. Although, maybe she could have used little more help she completed every customer's demands professionally and I thought did everything in a timely fashion. The food was very good as well. 👍😃
Great experience dining here! Food was fresh and hot, customer service was the best, and I felt like a very welcome guest here. I'll be sure to come back here often for more chicken!
Because it is the ONLY FAST FOOD that is not greasy. Service is always quick, and the tables are always clean. The chicken is awesome tasting. Also, if you buy $20.00 worth of chicken, with the best Mac & Cheese you can find anywhere, 2 people can eat 2 meals. That is $ 5.00 per meal. Wish they had one within 15 miles of my house. I would eat there much more often. Need one in Auburn Ca.
This is my favorite place to get lunch with my family very delicious good price and good seevice
Christmas shopping was definitely a little stressful today 🤣 I appreciate Linda who was very friendly and even said "Thanks" for coming in when I left. Also, Thank You to the employees for the clean, open Dining Room so I could take a break and eat a healthy Chicken Bowl! Have been eating at El Pollo for years and will continue to do so!
This is the first time I've ever been to an El Pollo Loco and I'm impressed! It's 7pm on a Wednesday and it's clean, the staff is friendly and helpful (since I didn't know what to order) and the food is awesome! I went the safe route and got the shrimp bowl with rice and corn tortillas, while my fiance had the chicken tostada bowl. Everything was amazing! They don't skimp on the portions and the meats are real! No soy and protein fillers here. I'm coming back :)
The grilled chicken is for the most part, moist and delicious. There is always a chance you get a piece that has sat on the grill too long. I like the side dishes I've tried. The service is good and the price seems to be in line with other places.
I love the tasty chicken here. I always feel like I'm eating very healthy food when I eat here. And it's very affordable. I took my daughter here for her first time and she loves it and always wants to come here because she likes to eat healthy food.
TL;DR Always amazing, would give 10 stars if posible I went here a couple of weeks ago with a mentor and our total came to 22 80-something and we only had a $20 bill, the young lady at the window told us not to worry about it and covered the rest for us. It was really nice and very appreciated. Every other time I come here I have a great experience with the employees and the food is always amazing. Never had a complaint about any aspect of my experience here.
Great place for some scrumptious Pollo Latino. I recommend the $5 tacos with drink and chips. Of course they have the salsa bar with limes and cilantro. I worked at a Mexican restaurant owned by a family in Sinaloa and the authenticity matches, baby. If you're reading this, go and tell them To y Reed the Aflac Lead sent you.
I love your family chicken meals. I wish you would put one in Redding CA! Then I would only have to drive 35 miles to enjoy your chicken. I only get it when I drive 200+ miles to visit my sister & 96 yr dad.
Great service, great food, really fast as well so ✅✅✅
Place was busy when I went in. In and out within a couple minutes. Good customer service. Good food.
They are sooo solid.. warm food every time .. and great service as well... you get more than what you pay for here!!!
Good food, friendly staff, reasonable prices.
Me and the wife had been coming here for a little bit over 2 years and the workers are always nice and the food is top notch.
Wonderful location, delicious food, and decent prices. What more could you want, especially in this economy! Thanks El Pollo Loco!
White chicken in my soft and crunchy tacos the chunks were dry.
Angel was working the drive thru at lunch today and he did so amazing; swift without being rude. Multi tasking like a boss, but super on top of everything (while still making you feel seen at the same time). The pico needs some work - all tomatoes (very little onions and spices); but my tostada salad was perfect! Love this place :)
Great place to eat ,first time here and it was a pleasant experience, will come back.second time here still good place to eat .
El Pollo Loco makes the best fire roasted chicken on the planet better than most top restaurants. It is delicious.
I have to say .we have another winner here. I think mainly because of the nice area it's in, that the service is top notch. I never felt rushed. The girl at the intercom was very nice and reassured me or was ok that I took a little longer, since I haven't been to El Pollo in many years. We got a couple taco bowls. And the three tacos and chip deal. They were out in no time. The food was great. The only thing is, in this area, of course the price is a bit more than in other areas, but, again, it a way better area . The food is clean, the employees are fantastic. The managers should be proud of their staff.
El Pollo Loco never fails to deliver an amazing meal and top-notch service! The staff is always attentive and makes sure you’re taken care of. I can’t get enough of their flame-grilled chicken—tender and juicy with a smoky flavor that’s unbeatable. The sides are delicious, and I always get the avocado salsa to go with my meal. The ambiance is relaxed and spacious, perfect for dining with friends or family. The bright, contemporary design makes the restaurant a pleasant place to hang out while enjoying tasty food.
I came here today with my two boys and my 1y old daughter. We sat inside to eat. I've only had El Pollo Loco like 2 times in my life. Not this location though. It was in south Sacramento and it was few years ago. My mom use to buy me the chicken Tostada bowl. I decided to come here today because I was suuuuuuper hungry and craving chicken, plus I was taking my little 6y old to Chuck E Cheese after wich is Literally right across the way. I've never been to this location or ever ate inside. It was really nice inside. Smelt really gooooood when I walked in. The lady who took my order was really nice. I ordered a 4pc chicken with rice and beans and flour tortillas, oh and a drink. For the price I sure got a lot of food and good size pieces of chicken. The food was soo HOT and delicious. My oldest son (16) barley ate because he just had his braces tightened but what he could nibble on he really liked it. He really loved the green salsa. My other son (6) he had a piece of chicken rice and beans. He was inlove with the chicken. He kept saying I want more. I love that they give you tortillas. They made the most delicious chicken rice and beans burrito. The Cilantro lime sauce is BOMB!!! MY FAVORITE! The restaurant was nice and clean, clean tables and it felt so nice and cool inside. When I left I told them thank you for my food. One of the guys said your welcome have a nice day! I thought that was nice. I thought they were very kind and friendly. I had such a nice lunch with my kids. The food was so amazing! I'm definitely coming back cause I want to try something NEW! Oh !!! The lemonade was very refreshing as well. I really loved this El Pollo Loco location. I will definitely be back. Thank you to the El Pollo Loco team. You guys are super sweet and the food is Delicious 😋
I love El pollo loco. I always get the same thing. I can count on them having real pieces of chicken for me to sink my teeth into. Simple ingredients done well. I cannot speak for any salad or any menu item that does not have the grilled chicken in it
I was able to order food over the app. But when I got there it was closed and didn't have a telephone number. They took my money. The next day I went and I talked to the manager. I showed him my order. And I received my meal without ridicule they were very polite
Good food, good flavor. My only beef (pun intended): they aren't careful when cutting chicken: I always get a bite or two of gristle or cartilage- not pleasant!
The food is pretty good and the service was good. The dining room needed to be cleaned and was not very near, but the kitchen area looked clean. The food is different but very good here.
Good roasted chicken--great alternative to KFC. Also a quasi-Mexican fast food place, a step up from taco bell with chicken instead of beef. Great tortilla chips. Sides are Mexican inspired in style--I love the corn because its sweet with a dash if seasoning. But if you get the roasted chicken it's just plain and good roasted chicken (no Mexican seasonings, which I'm glad about). This was my first time to any El Pollo Loco, so I'm not sure how it compares to others, but I know I'll be back from time to time. I like popeye's so I'll probably alternate between popeye's and El Pollo Loco when I'm looking to bring home chicken dinners.
It is a fast food environment. A little pricey for fast food but the chicken is excellent.
Great, enthusiastic staff, and our chicken bowl was good! A little over the top with diced onions and cilantro, but that's part of the Mexican food culture. The only bummer was the churo- it was almost doughy inside, yet well cooked outside. Not appealing. As we left, our server said "good-bye." Nice!
The chicken is good most of the time. Sometimes dry sometimes really good. Check your receipt. I told the guy I didn't want to give to charity, but he ignored what I said and rounded off my change. I made him give it back. I'm no Scrooge and give to the less fortunate but my own choice. Besides, it's shady to do these this in a restaurant setting because you really don't know if money actually goes to charity. You just don't know.
Tried the tamales and was very pleasantly surprised. They were really quite good. I also tried the black beans for the first time. Tasty and nicely spiced. This particular store typically looks messy and their salsa bar was almost empty, but they were working on filling it. The young man taking the order, while pleasant, was hard to understand. He spoke too quickly and quietly to be understood easily.
As they say best tasting chicken in the whole world! They have messed up a bunch of times with forgetting salad dressing and missing sides on to go orders. Check your order before you leave! I will say that the staff and management are very nice and great customer service as they did replace what we were missing on a few orders the next time we came back with no questions asked! Pollo bowls are a deal and always great pricing. I just wish that were closer to Roseville. They are close to Costco past the Mall and freeway.
Excellent chicken!! Can't rave enough about the delicious chicken, and freahbside that we get with every order we place at any El Pollo Loco! It is consistent in quality control, portions sizes and employees are friendly.
The food was good. Some of it was great. The overall experience was not tok good. Behind the counter was kinda chaotic, I'm not sure if the cashier and counter staff were new, but they were very busy. There were lots of people waiting and not much urgency.
First time at the El Pollo Loco in Roseville. The wife had the 3 pc chicken dinner combo with rice and beans. She thought the meal was fine, with the chicken a little dry. I had the Street Corn Burrito Bowl Combo that was fine, though again the chicken pieces were somewhat dry. Property seemed clean, and the order came fairly quickly. Staff was friendly, at order and getting our meals. Somewhat disappointed with their Senior Discount, as most times when they offer it, it is a 10% savings, but here, it was a flat $1 off our $35 order. At that savings, I don't think I would even bother to offer the discount. Fairly easy to get to the location with plenty of parking, just off Hwy 65, but a lot of traffic, which is probably typical for the area.
Used to really like this location but service not what it was before. Cashier not friendly, and getting sauce, salsa etc is a hassle now. The new tostadas are good though and the chicken is still good
I like the food, but they have the slowest drive through ever. I have sat in the drive-through line for 40+ minutes multiple times with only six or seven cars in front of me. I would leave but I get blocked in by cars behind me. Also their posted drive-through hours say they are open until 7:30pm, but have tried to go here twice last week and the drive though was closed by 7pm.
The cashier was friendly and obviously excellent at her job. Little frustrations though like you can't see the kids menu or side options until you reach the register. Kids menu has no descriptions which left me with many questions for the cashier (what's in the BRC burrito? How many sides are included? What else comes with the kids meals?) while the lunch line waited bedhind me. Also nowhere to hang a purse in the stall in the ladies restroom. Dining room was not routinely cleaned, so we watched many customers clean off their own tables. Food is ok. Our chips were stale and the potatoes were obviously the instant box kind, but the chicken bowl was good. Service at the counter was good, and they were willing to substitute breast meat for the 2 legs kids meal for my young child.
This location can be hit or miss. Very friendly staff but sometimes the guac is all brown and you wonder why they would even sell to you like that. The food is good though and 50/50 fail rate on the guac doesn't discourage my return.
Really like the food, if you order a burrito and don't eat in the restaurant be prepared to get the wrong one with no way of getting it fixed. My girlfriend summed it up by saying " I feel like they just make whatever burrito they want for you". I have noticed this as well, seems like they get my burrito order right 1 out of 4 visits. Eating at the restaurant is never an issue though.
We ate there tonight and had to have my order re-done 2 times. Not a big deal as we were in no hurry. The chicken was a little dry so we just added some sauce. The staff was very friendly and apologetic. I love EPL salads so will be back.
I've liked El Pollo Loco for years. The food is fresh and pretty healthy, as far as fast food goes. I had the Double Chicken Avocado Salad this time, and chose to eat in since I wasn't in any hurry. The food was delivered fresh and fast. And that creamy cilantro dressing...yum! I was disappointed, though, to see that only 3 small slices of avocado were served. OK, maybe supplies are hard to get. The salad was good. So, the reason for 3 stars was the condition of the restaurant. It was a shambles. Dirty tables and seats (I wiped my own down). The soft drink dispenser was sticky and spills were everywhere. The area around the dispenser was filthy, with puddles of liquid all over the counter and floor. Someone must have been in the midst of cleaning trays because there was a stack of dirty ones and another stack of questionable ones, along with a dirty towel and container of some type of cleaner. I've never seen anything like this at EPL. There were 2 cars in the drive-thru and 4 tables in use, so not terribly busy. Hoping the place is cleaned up soon. It'd be a shame to not go back due to cleanliness.
My husband and I were there last night and I have to say we were not impressed. We have been there several times and have always had good service, last night was NOT one of those times. We stood there for a while, the guy in front of us finally asked if anyone was going to take our orders. He left and we stayed to eat. The dining room was literally a mess and they had the AC cranked so low that people were going to their car to get their coats. It felt like it was about 55 degrees in there. They obviously had no leadership.
Food is good, but portions have shrunk and prices have gone up. Not a good value for what you get.
Tried for the first time. Food was ok. Probably would have given a higher rating had my order been correct. Went through drive thru and got the Handcrafted Chicken and Corn bowl. However, there was no cilantro and no cilantro creamy dressing. Had that been with it, I’m sure it would have been more flavorful and what I would have expected.
Great chicken, little too dry, but good taste 👌
Food is good hospitality is good. My only complaint is you can’t eat inside because it’s too cold and they don’t have any tables outside so I always gotta take it home.
Place was nice and clean. Service was friendly. Unfortunately Pollo Loco seems to have cornered the market on the tiniest chickens in America. An 8 piece leg and thigh looked more like a 8 piece hot wings meal. Flavor of the chicken and sides are good but the amount was not satisfying for the price.
I had not been to El Pollo Loco in a long time so I decided to stop. I had. Salas and it was very good. I also brought chicken as a family meal and the chicken was salty. The sides tasted very generic. The service was great. Order was correct.
The food was good but the dude chopping chicken up was way too loud!... Had trouble hearing because of the chopping
Very disappointed in the food at this location. I have now eaten at this location serial times and found the Chicken in the salad dry and over cooked and the soup saturated in oil. Will be driving to the Citrus Heights location next time.
I usually go to the one in Natomas and it's great. This one had skimpy portions on all our meals. My bowel was barely half full and my large chips was about the amount of a small one.
I really liked this place at first, however they've really gone downhill. I showed up for lunch and they "forgot" to unlock the door that day while they were on their cellphones. Then they proceeded to keep it locked to further discourage going into the restaurant even though their signs say they're open. Then, the manager was very short with me and gave me dirty looks the entire time I was there. I most likely will not return.
In short... 1) in drive thru, 1/2 of my 2 entree order was not given to me, realized when I got home (partially on me, I did not check before pulling away). 2) made the full trip home and back 3) happened to use the receipt to open the door 4) the receipt was taken from me and placed on the makeline 5) tortillas (at least 3) were placed on top and food was being made directly on the same receipt that was on my car floor and used. 6) when I brought this to their attention they said nothing to me, but did throw away all the food that would've be contaminated. 7) 5 minutes later someone brought me my wife's burrito and said nothing. My concern was the (I assume) manager was the one who put the dirty receipt on the makeline. I am certain a firm as large as this one has extensive training on food handling, and neither the manager or the employee noticed this red-flag behavior. Then....I was given the silent treatment..? Not even offered a soda for any of this hassle. A small gesture could've changed the whole trajectory of this whole experience.
Food is always great here but today was not a great experience at this location. They seemed EXTREMELY UNDERSTAFFED to the point where I waited almost 40 minutes in the drive thru, no exaggeration. I understand that especially in these weird times there might be issues with adequate staffing, but I'd rather pull up and have it be closed than get stuck in the drive thru for that long again. (After the first 10 minutes someone pulled in behind me so I couldn't back out or pull thru or I would have). I don't blame the staff because it seemed like they were trying their best to go as fast as possible and apologized a lot for the wait, but management should be more on top of staffing if this wasn't just a one time mishap.
Understaffed to start, which made everything down hill from there. Food was watery, chicken bland and not very warm. took almost 20 minutes to get our food. All the tables were dirty, no straws, seemed like the a/c was broken as it was quite warm in there. Parking lot was full of people waiting for their food going through the drive thru. Needs more staff and better management.
Perfect as usual! Update 5/6/24 Went in this afternoon and was surprised by how bad things were. This is really unfortunate because my family and I have been eating here lately and noticed that things have been consistently tasty and orders were correct. Plus the service had been great. Everyone has off or bad days though so I'm hoping things will go back to being great once again. Today the rice was underdone/crunchy and the beans dry. My BRC burrito had no cheese. We ordered a large mac and cheese but didn't get it.
Like the food, hate the service. Placed an order online, and rushed to get there in the 6 minutes they said it would take to make it. Got there and discovered there is no curbside pickup unless you have their app (as if I need another app on my phone). Doors were locked, so I had to get into the drive-thru line. Had to wait for the 4 cars ahead of me to order and get their food, so, SURPRISE, our food was cold by the time I got home. It seems like this place is the only restaurant in town that hasn't gotten the curbside pick-up concept figured out. I won't be going back until normal service resumes.
First time coming here and it was a mess. At first things were going well the cashier was very nice. While waiting for my order to go I noticed a gentlemen come in with a burrito that apperantly had a hair in it and realized none of the ladies had hair nets on. The what I assume was the manager (She didn't have a hair net either) didn't have a nice attitude towards the gentlemen. I tried to brush it off as I already ordered and was on a time crunch and just hoped for the best. For my order the rice had hard grains in it as if it wasn't properly cooked or they mixed in old rice with fresh rice and some of the chips were stale and somes were fresh. Won't be coming here again.
First visit was amazing. Second time at this location I was greeted very rude. Was giving the wrong order and even though I was patient the staff was not. Had to explain my issue with two different people. Instead of losing my temper (as I was almost being yelled at) I decided to take an "L" . I LOVE EL POLLO LOCO, but will not be back to this location. With customer service being priority at so many other restaurants within a 1/4 mile range. They are at the very bottom. It sucks because I'm literally right around the corner from them (El POLLO). Ah well never again......
So,this restaurant is showing only reviews from 6 months ago. Odd: Has Nobody really left a review at this location since, or have reviews been removed? I'm a huge fan of El Pollo Loco burritos. I've eaten three times at this location in the last month and TWICE had stomach issues. The customer service was good, friendly and fast, but the quality of food, not so much. The food wasn't very hot when received all three times and that can be an issue for food safety. Nobody was at the drive through when I was there at lunchtime. The quality and handling of this location needs improvement. I'd love to see the condition of the kitchen here. Do better.😒
They were out of chicken, said it was a 25 minute wait. I got a two piece meal, breast and wing, with a macaroni side and cole slaw. Well, they've taken ti cutting a half breast in half! Now you get a quarter breast, 3 bites. They gave me mashed potatoes and not the macaroni. Terrible. Never again!
This is the second time in a row I have had issues with this location. Last time there was issues with their drive thru ordering system and I waited in line for 15+ mins till they figured it out. This time they left out the burrito I ordered and put beans on my husband's nachos that we said no beans. We called the number on the receipt and the number on Google, disconnected. We live about 20 minutes away so it would have been nice to call and explain the issue. I love el pollo loco but we will not be back to this location.
Had an issue with my order, I called after getting home. And turns out it was a misunderstanding I order a Chipotle Chicken and Avocado but they didn’t have a bowl with chipotle chicken only regular chicken, they had a burrito with chipotle chicken. Instead of clarifying at the time and letting me choose... they just said okay and gave me the Grande chicken avocado bowl with 1 tiny slice of avocado for $8. The issue was small but was still not handled professionally. The guy just chuckled when I called and got off the phone. It could have been handled better, maybe offered to have me return for Chipotle sauce to add on... something! I’m a business owner, I think good customer service is very important and unfortunately didn’t receive that.
1 of the worst lunch service experience a I have ever had. Went there on my lunch hour to the drive thru, it wasn't very busy. Only 1 car ahead of me. I ordered a chicken salad. Spent 30 mins waiting in the drive thru & was asked by Althea manager to pull into the parking lot to wait. Waited in the parking lot another 10+ mins & finally went inside to get a refund. Apparently they were out of chicken despite there being chicken everywhere I looked. When I went inside to get my refund I was ignored for another couple minutes & the manager who asked me to pull forward refused to make eye contact with or acknowledge me. I did my refund (& that's all I got), I didn't get any lunch.
What's the point of posting hours if you can just close whenever you want? 5-10 minutes before, I can understand (as someone from the restaurant industry). But 40 minutes? Might as well not post hours, just have a fun guessing game with your customers.
Noon Friday August 17th, Extremely dry chicken, seen the managers spraying the chicken down with a water bottle trying to keep it from drying out! The AC is set to extremely cold, better bring a sweater! Manager not very friendly to customers, Seen an 80+ elderly lady ask for changes to her meal and the manager was very rude to her! I do not recommend this place nor will I be back!
I drove from Meadow Vista because I love El Pollo Loco. When I arrived they informed me they were out of chicken!! It would be about an hour before I could order. They did however have some chopped chicken for tacos and such. I ordered 6 tacos and chips & guacamole, oh, but guess what, they're out of guac as well. To make this trip even better they made me go park and they'd bring it out to me. I was offered a soda for my trouble but I don't drink soda so... I am really hoping there is a change in management.
Came in last night 2/21/22 and was yelled at the second I walked in to get out of the store and that they were closed. It was 4:45pm. The time we came before we were yelled at by someone at the window because we asked why they were out of chicken at 6:30 on a Saturday night. Both experiences were an African American women. Will no longer be returning after going to this location for years. Sad to see how terrible service has become.
Every time I've gone in, short line but huge wait time. Most emplyees just stand there, while a few hard working folks pick up the slack. I waited 15 min at the register waiting to order and the 2 girls were hiding out in the drive through area so it's harder to see them chatting together. I've worked fast food, and this place has awful service
I've loved El Pollo Loco for over 10 years, and been to the Roseville restaurant many times. However, today I was shocked when I got home to discover that both mixed chickens were very small; 50 to 60% of normal size. I was embarrassed to feed my guests these ridiculous tiny birds. What happened? Next time I'm posting photos if it happens again. Then you won't want to waste your money there.
My double chicken salad tasted like fish- had to toss it..... They forgot to season the chicken
Definitely not eating here again the tables had stains on them, the cashier gave me attitude. The food wasn't the best. I had the chipotle burrito. The only good thing about it was how it was wrapped. The flavors weren't the best together. Definitely not coming back
I’ve been at this location 3 times and the quality of food and customer service has been unacceptable. Compared to other Pollo Locos this location is the absolute worst! The salads have contained inedible lettuce parts, chips contain less than half of the bag and some of the food served appeared to be old or scraped from the bottom. On my last drive through visit the cashier never said a word .. just took my money and shoved the bag out the window and closed it! Unbelievable!!
I was forced to give one star in order to post this review. We ordered our food at 8:30 which you charged us for and it was supposed to be delivered at 9:20 and now it’s 10:00 and no food. When we called nobody answers the phone which isn’t surprising given the poor ratings for your horrible customer service. I don’t understand how you can possibly still be in business. You will definitely not get ours again. I’m sure it will take months to get a refund.
Normally I have never had problems with El Pollo but the last few times my order has been botched, service has been extremely slow, and an order apparently went missing. Ordering has been done ahead of time online and through drive through and most recent experience was terrible. I had just gotten out of a long work day, drive through speaker was broken, and I had ordered ahead. No one came out to let customers know that it would be taking longer than normal due to speaker being broken. After 40 minutes sitting in drive through customers started to back out, including me. I figured I'm the dummy should have just walked in and grabbed. That didn't work either. With Covid the restaurant wasn't letting customers come into lobby, understandable... I figured I would just call them up and tell them I'm here. Did it work you ask? No, they don't pick up. Being from out of town (don't live near El Pollo) I had no idea you needed the app in order to pick up order since you check in through app. That said, it took forever to get food. Lesson learned. Maybe do my research ahead of time before ordering and seeing of you need the app to check in?
Keep in mind there is no customers in the restaurant or in the drive thru and is 520 pm... I pull up to order in drive thru. The girl asks can I help you. I sure give me just a min to take a look. You hear a sigh and ugh from her. Then I say okay, I'm ready. Then it's a guy who responds anything else. Which threw me off cause I hadn't ordered anything. I say, can I order a chicken tortilla small. He responds very quickly, small or large. I say small again. He says anything else. Yeah, one sec, okay anything else he says again. I instead of ordering "anything else" I say no. And drive to the window. Where I see 6 people standing around joking and laughing while the manager is standing in the middle of them. Poor customer service and training.. You would think someone would be Cleaning or anything else.
This is the most frustrating experience I have had to deal with. Love El Polo Loco food, but the app and this particular restraunt is the absolute worst of all restraunts I have visited!! There app will take your order, advise you the order is ready for pick up, and drive there to find the restraunt closed. No notification,no apologies, rude employee's, and NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, refund takes 3-5 days! Do not know who owns this establishment, but it looks like I m not the only one that has had bad experiences with this store. I plan on following up with the corporate office, although I do not expect they will do anything!!!
This is the 3rd time I order something from this place and they mess up by not providing all of our items we paid for. I’m tired of the need to try and make sure all of my items are in the bags before we leave and holding up the drive thru line. Sometimes we order extra dressings and they give us the wrong dressings. Sometimes we order large sides and they just don’t put them inside the bag. To make matters worse they don’t provide your receipt for you to even check that you received your complete order. I think they do it on purpose so that if you are missing an item you drive all the way and you find out that you never paid for it or you did. It’s not like we live next door to them so it’s not worth the drive.
I used to be a regular at this place, and began developing a close relationship with the workers, but I had to stop when I learned about the poor treatment of the workers here. It's unjust that a business can easily give away large quantities of free food for minor customer complaints, yet their own employees have to pay if they want a meal. I firmly believe that a company should treat its employees with the same respect as its customers, as they are essential to the operation of the business. I will always remember a time when I saw someone I was told was the manager, named Alba, yelling at the staff in front of the whole restaurant. As someone who cannot tolerate witnessing abusive behavior, I felt extremely uncomfortable and somewhat traumatized by what I saw. To this day, I regret not recording the incident and reporting it, but I was paralyzed in disbelief at the abuse I was witnessing. That was when I learned that this was not an isolated incident and that such yelling is quite common here. I appreciated the convenience of this location since it is very close to my home, but I refuse to support a business that mistreats its workers, and I believe others should do the same. I can't believe this establishment has not been reported before; I am truly appalled.
Very Disappointing Experience – Unsafe, Unprofessional, and Disrespectful Staff We had a very unpleasant and upsetting experience at this establishment. The dining area floor was wet and dangerously slippery, making it unsafe to walk. We politely informed the staff, expecting them to take action to ensure customer safety. Instead, they laughed at us and responded sarcastically, saying, “We have a sign up.” No effort was made to clean the floor or take our concern seriously. Shortly after, I slipped and fell on the same wet floor. When my spouse asked to speak with a manager, a woman named Crystal (who claimed to be the manager) approached us. Shockingly, she admitted, “Yes, the floor is slippery and unsafe, but we’ve put up a warning sign.” She then added mockingly, “If you can’t walk here, feel free to leave and eat your food at home.” The entire interaction was not only careless and unprofessional but also deeply disrespectful. The staff ridiculed and belittled us with smirks and sarcastic remarks instead of offering help or even basic courtesy. It was clear they had no sense of responsibility for customer safety or comfort. We documented the condition of the floor with photos and informed them that we would be reporting the incident. I strongly advise others to stay away from this place until they address their serious safety issues and train their staff in basic professionalism and respect.
I used to get good meals here. The last 4 to 5 times the chicken has been scrawny and small. Prices like everywhere have been raised as well. That's okay if the quality had remained the same. Sadly it has not. I just went back cause someone gave me a gift card. After ordering they lost my order. Waited 40 minutes as they had to cook more chicken. Worse still(as my wife said) one of the worst meals we've ever had. Chicken was dry, broccoli was overcooked, and the order was not accurate (we ordered no gravy on the potatoes and they were drenched). So i subtracted another star from my original. Totally not recommended!
